They say you can’t go home again, but can you go back to your ex-best friend? Heather has her fingers crossed. In a time of desperation she shows up on his doorstep and hopes against hope that he’ll take her in. And of course he does, because Leo has been secretly, desperately, despairingly in love with Heather since day one.
Heather sets off to figure out who she is now that she has broken free of her old life and Leo is doing everything in his power to be a part of her new life. During her journey, Heather finds herself dragging Leo on his own exploration of self. Emboldened by Heather’s backing, he now feels comfortable sharing a new facet of himself with the world.
Armed with blooming confidence and a new group of friends Heather battles the adversity of divorce and the harshest critic of all, herself. Leo learns that loving others leads him to accepting who he really is. And everyone learns that life is better with friends, and dogs. Of course life is better with dogs.
This book had me feeling so many differing emotions as the characters journey evolved. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a plot with a mix of seriousness, fun, and beautiful friendships.
