Cute story with Junie B. getting herself into all kinds of trouble again. I picked a few of these books up at a thrift store to read the full stories. I read some as a kid and read a chapter or two to students while I’m subbing at schools. I’m always sad I only get to read just a short part of them so I was excited to see a few at the thrift store.

Reading reviews for Junie B. books I notice a lot of people complain about the grammar, her name calling and bad behavior. These are made to be funny stories and to teach lessons. As you read you talk with kids about choices that could have been better, is that the correct way to say that word?, was that a mean thing to say?, was that kind?…all sorts of questions and lessons could be implemented in these books. Children need to learn that books and what you see on tv, in the movies or on social media is not always right and true facts. So use these books as a teaching opportunity and have fun with the stories.
