This is book 2 in the series. Book 1 (My Evil)- is Annabelle's POV. My King is Conrad's POV.
I think I love this book even more than book 1!!! Conrad King is UNHINGED. Seeing everything from his point of view, why he is the way he is and does the things he does. I love his unhinged self.
He is obsessed with Annabelle. OBSESSED. He brings touch her and unalived to a whole new level.
Ends on a cliffhanger that will leave your jaw on the floor! Can't wait for book 3
And as always- check your triggers because this book is dark!

My King was the Conrad POV to my Evil that I was craving and we got it!!
Deliciously twisted and somehow sweet, Conrad is what you are looking for when they say "morally grey".
Even better than getting to have a little bit of insight into Conrad, getting to see more of the plot that we can only assume is happening in My Evil (oh hey there, Rachel).
Conrad surprised me a bit actually. I thought for sure I had him pegged as a very specific person and Annabel just happened to be in the right place at the right time..Getting to see the genesis of the obsession start made me actually like Conrad more as an MMC.
There is a lot of nefarious work happening behind these scenes here, and based off of the ending, not even Conrad sees them coming.
I cannot wait for book 3!!

I was honored to receive the ARC for book 2 of the In The Shadows series by Dahlia Dempsey! I was so ready for Conrad’s point of view and it did not disappoint! I flew through this book and it was over so fast! That epilogue!? My goodness! I need to know! Who is it?? Is it Rachel? Is it Zeak? Is it someone else we don’t even know yet?? Book 3 can’t come soon enough! Cliffhangers kill me!!!

I needed this after reading book 1, My Evil! After reading Annabelle’s POV I knew I needed I needed Conrad’s. Now that I’ve read Conrad’s POV, you get to see the possessive side of his even more and I love it! He brought touch her and die to a whole different level.
This book does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for book 3!!

Wow! I thought My Evil was an amazing read but this one may just top it. I'm so excited that we got to see inside Conrads mind and the way he thinks. I really do think they fit perfectly together. I can't wait for Annabel to release her dark side because I just know she has one hidden. I can't wait for the next book and discover who this hidden person might be. I highly recommend My Evil and My King. Happy Reading Everyone!

Conrad and Annabell. Book one ended on a cliffhanger and was in the FMC's POV. Book two is primarily in the MMC's POV(occasionally in someone elses POV) and begins before the events in book one. How Conrad found Annabel before she even knew he was watching.
Honestly, the first quarter of the book was a little difficult for me to connect with the characters and what was going on but it definitely got a lot better once his mindset shifted and he saw her. Most of the book was what happened in book 1 but in his perspective.
Conrad is definitely more of a very dark grey to even a morally black MMC. This is a stalking, unaliving, age gap, touch her and d!e, unhinged MMC, dark romance.

I love this series! This is book 2 and it's mostly written from the MMC perspective. You definitely need to read book #1 for this book to make sense.
There was so much from book 1 that made more sense after reading his perspective! It takes you back so you understand how book 1 started and then his side of book 1. And then laid the groundwork for book 3! Which will continue Books 1 and 2.
This series has mystery and intrigue and smuttyness (I dont even know if that's a word!)
Also pink scrunchie! IYKYK!

There were parts I enjoyed - like the Dexter type parts of the book but it’s weird because it felt like there were two different authors writing the main character. Typos here snd there slowed me down some but mostly confused by the different writing. When we read Conrad acting out his Dexter type kills there’s more emotion and it flows better than the other parts of the book. If more had been like that I’d rate higher.

An amazing read. I loved reading this story from Conrads perspective. Honestly after reading My Evil from Annabel’s POV and then Reading my King from Conrad’s POV it made this story better. This answered a bunch of unanswered questions I had when reading My Evil. The writing was really good the spice was stellar. The ending left me wondering who was going to be the stalker in My darkness but I have a feeling I know who will be revealed as that one …. 😈

Check your triggers because this book 2 is very dark, but definitely worth it if you're into this genre.
My King is Book 2 of a series called In The Shadows, this story tells you more about Conrad's side and everything had come together towards the end.
But boy what a way to end it and have a cliffhanger leading to possibly a book 3 but who knows.

Well shit! I have no idea what I'm going to read, to hold me over until the 3rd book comes out. This series has 100% consumed my life. I absolutely love it. To note, this isn't usually my genre. However, the author drew me in from page one.

This was a great book following My Evil. I really enjoyed getting Conrad’s point of view with everything he was thinking and feeling about Annabell. Also the mystery in this book has me wondering how this series will continue. Can’t wait to read the next book.

I absolutely loved getting to know what was going through Conrad's head like was hinted at in Book 1! Conrad King is the literal description of a red flag book boyfriend and I am feral for him. My King had me gasping for air and screaming at the pages in anticipation. Book 3 is going to be even better, I can feel it.
