When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

Wraiths and Golums and communes, oh my!

Not up to Lee's usual standards. She may write a book every six weeks, but the characters and plots are usually fresh and unique, this seemed stale. I figure she's working on a slam bam apocalypse in another series. At least I got another dose of the Winchester clan. I am glad she's learned to continue a series past the wedding.

always a pleasure to visit the Winchester Witches, the family dynamics are what makes the series.so enjoyable especially the last few books which have seen the mother's of Bay, Thistle and Clove begin to show an interest in being more than a kitchen witch................. There are major changes coming for the sisters in future books I think. There is also something in the works regarding Bay and her ever increasing power in her necromancy. Still more change as Thistle is pregnant leaving Bay the only cousin to not provide a grandbaby for her mother, something Winnie finds extremely annoying especially as Marnie and Twyla enjoy gloating. One constant though is Aunt Tillie who in this story receives some horrible news when she is barred from hexing Thistle............... Landon is also going through some issues concerning work which causes some tension between him and Bay.........we also get to see Scout and Gunner from the Spells Angels series in what is pretty much a regular appearance in these books now and they fit in really well, Scout especially gets along well with Aunt Tillie while Gunner loves being doted on by Winnie, Marnie and Twyla.........................

Loas

The crossroads demon was a cluster, and Landon's boss got his hackles up about being left out. Bay is coming into some new powers or they are just enhancing? Thisle is whiny, Clove is being a mom, and Tillie is Tillie. Are we getting the chiefs and Winnies wedding? On to the next adventure!😉💚💙

Great progression

One of the best in the series. Really fleshed out Bay's development path and that Follow was aware of Bay's coming growth. More importantly we see Landon as a strong contributed and why he is part of the saga. Gunner, unfortunaely, as usual for most of the partners of our powerful women, served zero purpose.

I have been eagerly awaiting this book, however I just didn't enjoy this as much as I'd hoped to. I do love the characters. Bay and Landon as so sickly sweet together that you just can't help but love them, and Aunt Tillie is a menace to society, but so entertaining to watch her torture everyone. I think my main issue with this book was the parts where Evan and Landon (at seperate points) tell Bays family some home truths that not everyone is happy to hear. What with Winnie whining about Bay not providing her with a grandchild, and all the problems that fall to Bay to deal with now that her two cousins are out of commission for the bigger issues, it was something that definitely needed to be said to the women, but I just don't think that this was the book for it (probably would have. been a good conversation to have when Thistle was due to give birth book). As I said, that in itself could have been a great plot point, but mixed in with the commune, the dead woman, Mrs Little and everything else it just seemed to fall to the wayside. Still, this wasn't a bad book. The mystery was interesting and I liked how it brought some characters from other series into the story. Perhaps the next book will be a better book for me.

Never say die!

Lately I've read several paranormal/fantasy/romantasy books and series whose protagonist's end goal was to prolong their life indefinitely; preferably forever.
Personally speaking, thinking about living forever in a human body makes me tired.
The repetition of the every day alone would become a serious burden: wake up, shower, eat, clean up, get dressed, work on plans to rule the world...
Be that as it may, that is the goal of the big bad in this story.
I always enjoy it when so many of these characters get together to help each other figure out what's going on, and then work together to foil the plans of the villain.
The snark alone is practically lethal all by itself.
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and recommend starting it from the beginning.
Note: I don't know what's up with Bay's mom, but she was too often totally obnoxious without any reason to be. I would say she was channeling Aunt Tillie, but in comparison, (in this case, Aunt Tillie was well behaved).
That's just crazy business!
This is a fun series with characters I wish were my friends and neighbors!
Try it. You are sure to like it!

This very well established series continues with development for most of the characters. Bay seems to be leveling up (again) with her powers. Landon is having some issues at work since in the last book Bay had to work with a crossroad demon and leave his boss (Steve) out of the equation. Thistle's pregnancy and marriage were a major topic in this one. Aunt Tillie actually had a smaller part in this and seemed to be throttling back a TINY bit. Marnie (Bay's Mom) and her sisters were more involved and had a big surprise for the group. The mystery in this was a little different and did require some outside help from Scout, Gunner, Poet and Baron Samedi.

Fun Read

I love this series, always a lot of laughing out loud, especially when the characters around the family dining room table. This book brought in help from characters from 2 other series. This increased the laughing moments. Lots of sarcasm and sarcastic remarks which enhance the story. Ms Amanda M Lee's character development is top notch with consistency in all characters no matter how many books or visits to other books. I recommend reading the entire series from the beginning to see not only the character development but the relationships. Loved this story.

this really is my favourite series

Out of all Amanda’s series Witches of the Mid West will always be my favourite.
Big Witch Energy was full on fast paced from page 1 I loved it.
The whole family is nuts in a hilariously good way, I also love how they come together a blend of blood and found family their unity is such a strong bond that keeps growing.
This mystery was interesting , intriguing and action-packed.
I’m excited to see what happens next there are so many future possibilities.

good story

Enjoying this series….in this book Bay and Landon are becoming more cohesive and working together. The basis of this story is different and starts by Bay being pulled in to the water by her ankles. I won’t say what her mother and aunts are up to, but I did wonder if would start another series

I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on this book since it was initially announced, but was unsure if I would like it as much when I read the blurb later. In the end, it was just as good as I had hoped for and it has a safe spot on my list of favourites. I can’t wait until the next book will be released later in the year. Five stars for this one.

Great

Very enjoyable. I always love when characters from other series make an appearance and we had a nice variety. Aunt Tillie is trying to think of a curse for Thistle that's safe. It would be hilarious if she made so she couldn't dye her hair. Bay's powers are strengthening. Looking forward to the next book.

Great Author

I have loved all of her books. The sarcasm and character dynamics are fun. The plot lines are great. I like the way she combines characters from different series. You can't go wrong with any of her books whether she is writing as Amanda M. Lee, Lily Harper Hart or Avery Kane.

Wow!

This book has a lot going on in a good way. Bay and Landon are such a great couple and have come a long way and are learning communication is the key. I love when we see other friends in the story. Scout and gunner show up with Poet. Even a mention of Stormy. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Again love the improvements that Amanda has made in her writing. While the yesteryear parts of these books is none-existent the villain is at least something new even if at least obvious. But we are all here for the Winchester family and all the character development. That part of the story has been really amazing.

Wow! Bay's powers keep growing but is she ready for what lies ahead? There's an interesting development with Landon and the aunts have a plan for their future that's out of the blue. The next several books in this series are going to be epic.

Love this series because I like the family/community but also each story is unique and original with interesting twists. The ending surprised me in a good way. Definitely recommend but you should start at the beginning of the series.

And the "snark" just adds to the enjoyment.

Fun read...

I love the Winchesters. All of them! I like that the mothers are now going to open a school. And that Bay is becoming more and more a custom to her powers. And we're fixing to have another little Winchester soon..

Witches United again

I enjoyed this book. I enjor when Scout and Bay work together against a bad person. Bay and Scout have very different personalities but they work good together. This book doesn't go so heavily into the paranormal that it makes it difficult to read.

Awesome

I love this series. Bay stumbles on to a cult outside of Hemlock Cove. She also gets pulled through a plane door. Are the two related? Bay and her friends are on the case!
