Okay… to be honest I picked this up one night when I was really really bored. Like, I wasn’t in the mood for anything and I just told myself, hey, you know what you can do ? Just start a short novel so you can at least say you’re reading something and not just scroll on your phone. And, guess what, I ended up starting this. 🤡
Now, I knew it was insta-love (have I mentioned before that this is not really my cup of tea?) I knew, and still I started this one. Maybe I’m a masochist (or maybe I was just that bored and nothing could save me, except for starting this 🤡)
This story is presented as insta-love at its finest and boy, how it delivered on that. But, it also delivered in making me feel like there’s no connection at all between the characters. It felt very artificial, nothing occured naturally, it’s like the author just wrote words on a page, but those words didn’t hold any meaning. It was as if I would read a newspaper (and I don’t particularly enjoy reading those, might I add).
The characters were written poorly in my opinion, there was no development (and what character development can you expect in a 70 pages novel anyway ?) The plot was stupid, like how can anyone convince me that only because you saved a dog from an abusive owner, said owner would do anything to find you and kill you ??? That’s so unrealistic (even for a work of fiction), so stupid. 🫠
At least, I spent my time reading (that’s me trying to console myself after my last neuron basically flew away just so he can save himself from this mess). Anyway, as stupid as this was, I read something (even tho I wasn’t in the mood for anything, so there’s that).
And about the rating, well, I just had to put 1.5 there because the next book that I read from this series (yes, you read well, I actually subjected myself to the horror of reading another book in this series), well that was even worse. 🫠

It was a novella, so everything was instant, but I still enjoyed it. 🤭
Lucy (23) stole a dog, Cutter (who was being treated badly), and relocated to a small town. She thought after five months, the cruel owner had forgotten all about them, but nope, the man came to the town looking for them. So she decided to report the man to the police, and therein enters Emmanuel (27). One look and he'd been a goner for her. It became his sole purpose to make Lucy his and protect her from everything or anyone that wants to harm her. Obviously, he dealt with the bad guy, and these two eventually found their HEA. It was a very straightforward story, and there's not much really to it, but it's good for passing some time. 😄

Short, sweet, & spicy!
Every time I read one of these novellas I fall more in love with this little mountain town!
My thoughts:
-I can always count on Author Olivia T. Turner to deliver a short and spicy read to help cleanse my palate from all the heavier reads.
-The MMCs are always OTT obsessed with their woman and they do whatever it takes to make them theirs!
-The FMCs are always baddies that can handle these strong willed men… and are fierce in their own way!
-There’s a little plot to go with the spice and it’s a nice balance!
-And the SPICE it is HOT! It will have you fanning yourself!
-A great little series if you want short, sweet, and tons of spice!

Book 12 of the series Green Mountain Boys.
I must say this is an awesome read with amazing characters. I highly recommend it! Lucy is our MFC and Emmanuel Rush is our MMC.
The beginning of this story made me laugh so hard. Literally had to share with my husband because it caught me so off guard😂.
“Her ride or die😂! His massive chest..love of her life..he’d die for her..but she could do without the drooling!”😂😂 Thats Cutter, a Rottweiler and I love him thru out the book🥰.
This book was such a joy to read with funny moments, high stakes moments, aww moments and swoon worthy moments😜.
Our girl Lucy is twenty three, beautiful honey blond hair, innocent and caring. Which is why she’s on the run. Oops, yes she did a no no😂.
Our guy Emmanuel is twenty seven, gorgeously hot, the towns law officer, muscular, and is possessive and protective of our girl Lucy.
When trouble comes for “his girl”, Emmanuel takes care of what’s his…and boy did he! And he made sure Lucy knew she was his.
Sharp, intense, insta love with duel innocents. They were fated to love each other forever. And they have a happy ending…along with Cutter of course…👍🏻🥰❤️.

Lucy has been working for as a receptionist that sells water pumps. Every day she has to walk by a mechanic shop that has a guard dog that scares Lucy. Eventually Lucy befriends Cutter the Rottweiler guard dog. She feels so sorry for him and she rescues him and they take off for The Greene Mountains. Lucy and Cutter have lived in peace for 5 months until Angelo the owner of the shop finds her. Lucy goes to the police to get help. Emmanuel is a police officer in Greene Mountain, he grew up in Greene Mountain. He feels like he is missing something in his life and has applied to the FBI. When Lucy got to the police station Emmanuel heard her and went out to help. The moment he saw Lucy he knew that she was his soulmate. Will Lucy also realize that Emmanuel is her soulmate? Will Emmanuel stay in Greene Mountain instead of going to work for the FBI? Will Emmanuel protect Lucy and Cutter from Angelo? Will Emmanuel and Lucy find love and happiness in Greene Mountain.

Lucy had to watch a guard dog live in miserable condition with no real shelter year round from snow to rain for nearly 2 years. Cutter, the dog tried to chase her from inside a fenced vehicle lot. But Lucy still wanted to befriend him with food and kindness. Patience and time paid off. The owner,Angelo threatened her; but it didn't stop her from using bolt cutters to cut a hole and take Cutter away from from the area.Time to fled to Greene Mountains in Montana to start a new life. Now after 5 months in Greene Mountains, her worst nightmare has happened -- Angelo and crew have shown up! Cutter normally stays at her neighbor's townhouse with her golden retriever,Rocky. She tells her neighbor and friend,Sandra, about the whole story.Her townhouse is broken into and trashed that very night. Time to take Sandra's advice and go to the cops. Emmanuel is a huge and gorgeous cop who has applied to the FBI. He has received an offer from them;now to decide what he wants to do.He wants more police work than he is currently see in small town. But is he really wanting to leave the mountains? He's working out with other officers in the gym behind the front desk. The station bell sounds and another officer goes to the front desk. Emmanuel hears a woman's voice that gives him goosebumps,who is she? He goes to see what's going on. She's gorgeous, but he's never seen her even though she says that she has been in town for 5 months. How did he miss seeing her? He is having a major reactions to her. After learning her story, what does Emmanuel do to keep her and Cutter safe? Does he accept or decline the FBI? Do they have a future?.

'The second our eyes meet, I’m done for.'
I loved this book. The premise was interesting and stood out from the others in this series. As a dog lover, Cutter was a huge bonus for me! I could practically see the loving looks he gave Lucy with his brown puppy eyes. I loved the story of how she won over the dog that absolutely terrified her everyday trying to get to work next door; the dog that was so aggressive and seemed to want to rip her apart. I loved their story so much, I could have read an entire book about just their bonding relationship. It really touched my heart.
'I no longer dreaded walking by the fence. I actually looked forward to it. He looked so happy every time he saw me— happier than anyone else was.'
The story was exciting, suspenseful, and dangerous. Emmanuel was exactly what she needed. Lucy realized she was in over her head and needed the police- even if she could get in trouble for stealing the dog- or even having him taken away. It helps that the big mountain man fell in love with her at first sight and would probably do anything she asked without question. lol

The way Emmanuel protected Lucy in the ally was hot! This is definitely my favorite book in the series! I can't wait until it comes out in audio! And another gorgeous cover! 5 stars.

Whew! This book was intense—I’m still trying to recover! It was a fast-paced, straight-to-the-point read with smart writing and a solid storyline that kept me hooked from start to finish.
Lucy steals a dog from a group of thugs who were abusing him (yes, she’s that girl!) and escapes to a small town filled with unbelievably big, rugged mountain men. Cue Emmanuel—he’s a cop, and according to Lucy, he’s massive. Think tall, thick biceps, a perfect beard… basically, the Hulk has nothing on him. In Lucy’s words: edible (read it and you’ll understand 😏).
When the thugs come looking for her and the dog, Lucy runs to the police station—and that’s where she meets Emmanuel. It’s love at first sight. (Mini spoiler alert: they were each other’s first. Yes… that kind of first. 🫣)
The spice level? Hot, hot, HOT! 🔥 Emmanuel is the ultimate Alpha—protective, dominant, and sweet when it counts. I can’t say more or I’ll end up rewriting the whole book and get accused of plagiarism 😂
If you’re looking for a short, steamy, addictive read—this one is it. You won’t put it down until the very end!

Thirst In The Mountains is Book 12 of the Greene Mountain Boys series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, slight age-gap, opposites-attract, damsel in distress, double virgin, girl gets her police officer romance. Lucy is a 23 year old sweet girl who is on the run after liberating the dog from the shady business next to her office. Cutter has become her best friend, and after he saves her once, she needs to save him too. She ends up in the Greene Mountains working as a waitress. Emmanuel is a 27 year old burly, hunky, muscular police officer. When Cutter's owner comes back, she goes to the police and Emmanuel knows she is meant to be his. The chemistry between these two was hot enough to burn down the mountains, and we got a great HEA after all the drama. Emmanuel was a swoon-worthy dream-boat with how he protected them both. I loved it so much!!.

Lucy stole an abused dog, Cutter, from her neighbor, who is most probably a criminal. She and Cutter need to relocate to a new town, fast. She decides on Greene Mountain. She loves her new life and Cutter loves Lucy. Unfortunately, her crimial neighbor catches up with her and breaks into her house trying to get Cutter back. Lucy goes to the local police where she meets Emmanuel. Emmanuel is at a cross roads in life. He feels like he needs more excitement in his life and has applied to the FBI. Yet, his gut tells him he needs to stay put but he isn't sure. When Lucy walks in all questions are put to rest because this woman is his and he will do whatever it takes to protect her and make her his.

I loved how this story starts: Lucy steals…I means rescues…an abused animal and runs away! But the man who owned the dog, who is obviously a criminal, come after her. They are determined and locate her 5 months later (must be a magic dog!) so she goes to the police and meets Emmanuel who promises to protect her.
Unique story because she technically did steal the dog, but I agree with her, Cutter needed more loyalty and care. The resolution is quite violent; makes me wish Emmauel was a mafia don, not a police officer, especially in this current time where violence from cops is not tolerated.
Wonderful spicy scenes—I had to chuckle in the epilogue, when there is some beer, a lightweight and a girl who needs her man.

Their attraction is instant and they know they have met their soulmates. An intense,short story packed with heat, drama, touch her and 💀vibes and a wonderful hea. Emmanuel is a dedicated police officer but he applied to a job with the FBI, because he feels he wants more, but is reluctant to leave his beloved mountains. When he sees Lucy our ott alpha exactly knows what or better who is longing for. Lucy left her old life behind to rescue Cutter, a dog who used to belong to the business next door, from her workplace and was mistreated. But he belonged to criminals who can not take, that somebody took something from them and are now after her. Lucy immediately feels at homes in the mountains and when she meets Emmanuel, she feels the special spark. Emmanuel is a true ptoector and also he is a police officer, stops at nothing for his woman.

love that Cutter
I loved this story. Lucy and Cutter, beautiful dog. I felt every bit of Lucy’s pain and anger for him. I would have done the same and taken him away from that horrible situation . And even better Emmanual comes along. and finds her irresistible and she is gob smacked as how magnificent he is. To try to make a long story short they horrible owner finds her and takes the dog out of her neighbor’s backyard. Lucy is beside herself, running out of the restaurant crying to Emmanuel that they’ve taken cutter.. So of course Emmanuel goes after him and finds him. Takes care of him and takes cutter back to Lucy.. of course there is some great steamy, sexy stuff to make it a very happy ending.

Oh my, this story was fabulous. Lucy was a total sweetheart with such a generous heart. Cutter, the poor thing, just needed someone to care for him - even a little. Finding Emmanuel when she needed help was a stroke of luck, for all three of them. The chemistry was intense and the story (at times) will have you gripping your Kindle in suspense, but it's soooo worth it in the end.
OTT knows how to write the perfect posessive, sensitive, Alpha male, and Emmanuel is a prime example. I'm lucky to have received a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Definately recommend this for your TBR. Happy Reading Y'all📚
