Luca and Ava. Shes chaos wrapped in ice. She doesnt panic. Hes control. He doesnt panic. They dont have time to panic. Their silence is electric like teeth biting down hard. Theres a power play with a new rival in town. Shes seen too much and doesnt even know it. Doesnt understand. But she will. Shes in his penthouse and not by choice. For her protection, like it or not. Shes under his skin in his head and thats not good. He has rules. A reason for those rules. Until her. She sees him really sees him. She doesnt know it yet but shes his and he wont let anyone touch her or come for her or they will face the wrath which is him. This is a well written great charecters story. Their journey has all the mafia chaos you would expect. With a dark dangerous controlled defiant controlling possessive over protective mafia alpha male. And a fiesty strong woman. Couldnt put it down after it grabbed me from page one to the end.

Even from the synopsis, this story promises to be dark, addictive, and absolutely unputdownable. The mix of danger, passion, and forbidden attraction between the heroine and Luca Moretti practically leaps off the page. I love how it balances high-stakes tension with raw, emotional chemistry you can just feel the intensity building. If you enjoy stories that blur the line between captivity and desire, with a ruthless hero who would burn down the world for the woman he claims, this seems like the perfect read.

I almost closed the book without finishing, but decided to struggle on. The story was slow in many places, no descriptions of the fighting but long drawn out paragraphs afterward. More descriptions of the city below and the sites, smells and sounds than anything. There should have been more focus on the story than on long descriptive paragraphs about scenery. Just because I didn't care for it doesn't mean you won't. But with a clear conscience, I can not recommend this book.

This book grabbed me from the very first line and refused to let go! What starts as a glamorous job in Manhattan’s elite nightlife quickly turns into a dark, dangerous, and intoxicating ride into the world of the mafia. Luca Moretti is everything you want in an anti-hero, ruthless, magnetic, and sinfully irresistible. The chemistry between him and the heroine is absolutely electric, every glance, every touch, every word drips with tension and heat.

I made it to about 40% before deciding to stop. The story was disjointed, with entire chapters feeling like they were missing, making the plot hard to follow. On top of that, I noticed repeated paragraphs, which disrupted the flow and made the book feel poorly edited. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay engaged enough to continue.

She witnesses Luca “taking care” of the situation, and he is impressed with her ability to not panic. Rather than kill her for being a witness, they become partners and rule his world together.

quick read

A quick read but very repetitive. The amount of “she was a woman that panned champagne toasts and perfected centre pieces” was a lot and there were inconsistencies in clothing etc that set me back a bit. The story was good though and I enjoyed it for the most part. I just wish it wasn’t so choppy in places.

Not for me

I had an awful time finishing this book. I hate to stop before the end but man it was tough. There was no sex which is absolutely necessary. There was no real romance. It was all war and fighting. Not worth reading in my estimation.
