Three. This is my number. It’s the exact sum of reasons I continue to go on.

One: To strengthen my body. Make it strong. Make it a machine. Make it so that what happened before can never, ever, happen again.

Two: To help others find their own strength so that what happened to me, what happened to my Olivia, doesn’t happen to them.

And three: My favorite—to find the bastards that took my life away and make them pay for what they did.

This is what my life is now. A dead man, inside a scarred body, living only for revenge.

Includes:
Getting Dirty (Dirty 1)
Playing Dirty (Dirty 2)
Talking Dirty (Dirty 3)
Fighting Dirty (Dirty 4)
Staying Dirty (Dirty 5)

My first read by Ms. McIntyre was HARD and it was then that I fell in love with her ability to write and tell such beautiful heart breaking stories!

So, for this series and for HARD, I give the author a
 photo standingo_zpsde82a0cb.jpg

I would definitely put a WARNING for this series because of the subject matter.
The opening chapter just bout broke my freaking heart!!!!

For the life of me, I could NOT imagine what anyone in that position has gone through, and how they move passed it.

Brilliant storytelling, beautifully written, flawed characters who you fall in love with......What more could you ask for.

Well this story caught me by surprise. I seriously enjoyed it so much. Broken hero and damaged heroine?! Yell yes!! 🙌🙌🙌😆

The chemistry was on point, these two were so hot together gave me all the feels. The action was fantastic and I must say readers looking for a good romantic suspense will find this story appealing.

4.5 Stars!

Revenge, Suspense, Darkness, Hotness.

Perfect combination for me. I devoured this series!!

My review for part one.

"I’m a vigilante. Or I will be by the time this day is over."

This was a great start to the series. This author is new to me, I love a hidden gem. I bought the bundle, so I'm diving right into the next installment.

Can you live with yourself after seeking revenge? Link loses his heart, his soul, his girlfriend after one tragic night. He's a shell of a human being, existing, not living. One thing on his mind, revenge.

Rocky's sense of security was taken one tragic day, her life changed forever. She also lives without a soul, an endless battle within herself to live.

I'm not sure how all this will tie in, but I'm anxious to find out. I wonder with vengeance if these two meeting was destiny. I love my books dark, gritty, full of suspense. I'm excited to see whats to come!

My review for part two- five.

"This is what my life is now . A dead man, inside a scarred body, living only for revenge."

My review is for the box set and parts 2-5. My intention was write a review for each part, but once I started it was impossible to stop. So, blame it on the author, she raked me in and didn't let me go. I rated each book between 4-5 Stars, as a whole, this story is definitely a 5 Star read for me. Everything I love in my gritty stories, she provided.

"I know this man is twisted and damaged , and probably the worst thing in the world for me. But aren’t we all twisted in some way."

Link & Rocky's relationship is unconventional at best, I loved their interactions, their fight to open up to each other. I felt a deeper connection between the two. I respect the ability of an author who is able to show me, instead of tell me. No instant-love here, it's raw, it's heartbreaking, and it's realistic. The plot itself is nail-biting, Link and Rocky are an extra bonus.

"But this— this hug—hurts worse. This feeling of unification— of oneness— it’s almost too much to bear. It’s treachery. Olivia was my counterpart since I was fifteen years old. She was the other half of me. Rocky is my parallel . A reflection of what I am now. My mirror image of pain."

If you love a dark read, but not too dark, I highly recommend. This one is light in comparison to others I read, but the author did an absolutely amazing job at keeping glued to the pages, it's a rollercoaster of tragic pasts, revenge, and healing.

This story could work much better as a whole, not a series.
Presented in parts and accessorised with a huge amount of time cutting cliff-hangers loses its appeal.
Still, among other things, it feels incomplete.
The author left out few important factors.
Unfinished business, unexplained twists and no follow ups. I feel like something is missing here.
In general, it's nerve wracking. Abuse and unfairness, loss and misery playing the main roles.

I'm sure there are plot holes somewhere- there always are. But fuck me if I even care, because that's how much I really enjoyed this series.
**SPOILER ALERT*** beyond this point.

The thing that stuck out for me was how focused Link was, not just on getting revenge for his dead girlfriend, but on making sure something like that never happened to him again or anyone else he could help. Instead of focusing everything inward, he opened a gym to help women defend themselves so that they wouldn't meet with the same end as the lost love of his life. I liked that instead of moving on, and getting past his grief, he used his pain to fuel fires of revenge. Okay, why did I like that? Because I get tired of hearing stories or reading stories about people who are attacked and there is no mention of anger. There is no mention of the rage one feels towards their attackers. If I managed to survive 18 stab wounds with a hunting knife, you better believe I would want to find the fucker that did that shit to me and gut him. If someone I loved was also a victim and didn't survive, you can count on me wanting to end that motherfucker who took their life. I totally related to Link's rage and his intense desire to extend the kind of justice he felt an attack like that deserved, and I'm not ashamed to say so. I felt like what he was going through was so much more believable than him just crying into a beer and then suddenly finding someone to take away all the pain. Like he somehow is miraculously healed because some magical person came into his life and magically made him forget Olivia. There was a process. I respect that. And I respected this author's presentation.

I really enjoyed this book. Characters were developed really well and the story fit them. They were who they were and you had to accept it.

In the "book world" I would say that this book rocked. It kept my interest and was a nonstop page turner. At times when it started to get a little too dark for me, I had to keep in mind that it was in fact just fiction. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in some of the books that I read and then place them as people in the real world because I was so connected to them and they felt as if they were real. (one of the side effects of booknerdism) In this book it was easy to place in the fiction category. I don't think I want to be best friends with Link or Rocky even though they both have good qualities. It wouldn't work for me in my "real world." However, in my imagination, I could let my mind play with this idea long enough to enjoy the story being told. And if I'm being honest, the idea of revenge is appealing in those darker moments. I really liked how the author developed this into a gray area for the characters when this is such an unacceptable-under-no-circumstances-NO! in the real world.

I was hooked from the first line and wanted to see where the characters would take me. How far would they go? It's dark, gritty and raw. It has characters at their lowest of the lows at the hands of other human beings. It's about trying to deal with life while finding redemption for loved ones in the deepest dark places.

If you are in the mood for a story about revenge, then I highly suggest this fast-paced dark read.

Absolutely loved this book.

What would you do if you watched the girl you loved get raped and murdered right in front of you, those rapist were still on the streets living their everyday life like nothing ever happened and you.... you can't let go, can't find it in your heart to forget her .
That's how Link feels, he lives with it everyday, then Rocky walks into his life. She knows what it's like to be touched by someone who has no right to be putting their hands on you, forcing you to do something you don't want done to you. She seeks the same revenge. These two together is a force to be reckon with.
I couldn't put this book down!

My first book in 2016 and I simply can't bring myself to continue reading. I have a severe dislike of both the hero and the heroine. They are both victims of violent crimes and have sworn revenge which they execute .... til death, literally. Talk about a dysfunctional relationship - fantasising about torturing their attackers is actually the reason why they bond so easily in the beginning. Also, the heroine has a severe alcohol problem at least in my opinion. This is a personal pet peeve but alcohol problems and the way how she deals with her rape issues make her incredibly unlikable and wacky. January 2015. 4.5 this book held me from beginning to end. Be forewarned that it is very realistic and devastating. You start to see the light filter into the darkness. You start to see the healing. You see the hope, beauty and power that comes from love. Its difficult to right in your head some of the main characters choices and it equally difficult not too. Great, albeit heavy read.

It isn't a cliffy, but is a HFN. Another full length book is scheduled for 2015. It left at a good stopping point.

4,5 Stars!

These 5 short novels complete the story of Linken (Link) and Rocky.

Both have been through hell and lost all hope in a happy life. Till the fate put their paths together.

Both suffered from a violent attack.

These books are so full of emotions. Angst, terror, numbness, anger and then hope ...

Not for the light hearted of us.

At first Link and Rocky fight the attraction they fell for each other, but in the end they let their body's take over.

Cheryl McIntyre is one of my favourite authors & "Dirty" is another outstanding compilation. This is how I love to read a serial - in one go. I wish the next book about Rocky & Link was already available but I'll have to wait, darn it.
This was a tale of loss, violence, trauma & death beautifully told; how a victim becomes a saviour & ultimately saves himself. Its a tragedy that becomes a great story of love. This story is worth your reading time. Do one-click this book.

This series was brutal, but good. My only quibble is that I'm not sure I found the pacing believable, but it seems somewhat silly to worry about something like that in a story like this. I read the stories all in a row, and wouldn't have liked them as well if I'd read them as a serial and had to wait for new volumes.

I read the first part of this five part serial on its own and I loved it. The characters and drama were great, it was raw, erotic and full of emotional turmoil.

The remaining four parts were just as gritty and raw, but it started to wear a little thin by the end. Also the suspension of disbelief needed to believe Link could actually get away with what he does in the story was a little too much even though I wanted to believe it.

At times Rocky acts like a petulant child and that started to grate on my nerves a bit, but when it counted she was there for Link so I guess a little tanty every now and then is allowed.

The sex scenes are hot, and reasonably well written, infused with some tender moments and emotional growth for all parties included. My favourite was probably the paint scene, mainly because I’d never read anything similar before.

That being said, the sex was too good if you catch my drift. Everyone cumming in sync and such which realistically just doesn’t happen. I’d have liked a little more realism in there... but I’m just being nit picky.

Overall I enjoyed this, but it does touch on some rather polarizing topics. Rape and assault as well as murder are all touched on, some in graphic detail. If these topics are a trigger for you, I’d give this book a miss.

I didn’t notice any typos or writing issues, but it’s possible I missed them as I’m a little rusty.

Couldn’t rate it higher because Lea was too much of a focus in this. Maybe it should have been about Link and Lea seeing as they seemed to have more of a connection than him and Rocky. Hell, he’s intimate with Rocky and STILL goes back to Lea so I wasn’t really feeling it with those two (Link & Rocky) as a believable couple.

However, the characters intrigued me enough to read the sequel.

I read the first 3 when they released and picked this up once it was live so bundling everything together.

Highly recommend this series!

Getting Dirty: 5 stars

WOW!

I'm a huge fan of Cheryl McIntyre so when I picked up this book I knew I was going to like it. I was wrong. I loved it. It's raw, deep and totally not what I expected but it worked. The cover makes you think it'll be about boxing. Yes, it's involved but it focuses on rape. I love how Getting Dirty is told in two POV's, Link and Rocky, showing the difference between the things these two went through.

This is not a light read so if you're going to read this, know these characters have been through hell and they're facing it the way they can.

Playing Dirty: 5 stars

I LOVE IT!!

I don't know how the author does it but the books keep getting better. I have no idea what is going to happen next and I love it!!

Link is still thinking about Olivia so he's hell bent on getting vengeance on the four guys that brutally assaulted and killed Liv four years ago. The way his mind works is dark and alluring. He wants to kill but he doesn't because he needs the names of the people he's after. Is it wrong of me to want them to pay?? I don't care. They deserve everything they're getting.

You get a better look into what happened with Rocky in this book and you see how she turns to alcohol and sex to escape because her attacker is all she thinks about. He's another one that needs to end up on the kill list.

Link and Rocky also get closer in here and its finally what I've been waiting for.

This serial is 100% amazeballs and I love how I get to think some dark things because it fits the characters stories. I really hope Link gets what he wants. And I hope Rocky accepts his offer. These two need to do something!

Talking Dirty: 5 stars

YESSSS! I don't know why I waited so long to continue on with this series!!! *bangs head on table*

Link and Rocky are getting closer. OH YEAH! The sexual tension is HOT!!

Link is NOT going to stop until everyone who hurt Livie is dead!! I DON'T WANT HIM TOO!!!!

AND THAT ENDING!!!!!!!! :o

Fighting Dirty: 5 stars

I don't even know what to say. I just love Link and Rocky. I'm going onto the next one. The FINAL one. UGHHHHH!

Staying Dirty: 4 stars

I loved this serial! I'm 100% obsessed with Cheryl's writing and I. Don't. Care. :) <3

This whole series is action-packed, disturbing, raw, and shocking. Everything comes together perfectly and the ending was sweet. I wish it were longer BUT *cue the high pitched squeals* LINK AND ROCKY ARE GETTING A FULL-LENGTH NOVEL!!!!!! So I'm going to get more of them!

Link has taken care of 2 out of the 4 guys. The last two...hmmm, you'll have to read and see. ;) It's not what I expected but it does work. Rocky finally opened up and seeing these two together makes me happy. *sigh* I can't wait for more.

Talk about an angsty story! Very serious dark themes. Basically the story is about love, Revenge, And finding light at the end of the tunnel. Two very lost souls use alcohol sex and plotting revenge as a way to cope. They are thrown together & realise although theyre very broken on their own they are more whole when they are together and maybe just maybe there is hope for them. The struggle for the need for revenge vs moving on to try to have a normal life is present through the whole book. I really enjoyed this read it was different to the average romance.

This is probably something I would not have read until I saw the bundle on sale. I don't usually care for serial novellas, after one that I started has been drug out for years and should be complete by now I just don't do them anymore. So with that said when an author offers them in a sale bundle like this I will gladly give them a shot and I was not disappointed with this one.

Link and Rocky's story was really great and I loved seeing them help each other with their pasts. I really did get a little irritated with Link at times because it just seemed that he was purposely making himself miserable. But he finally figured out that he could have some kind of happiness and work on a future without betraying Olivia. Because let's face it if Olivia was all he said she was then she would not have wanted him to be miserable for the rest of his life.

There were a few things that I just didn't like, one being Lea I just didn't really see a need for so much of her in the story. I don't know maybe I liked Rocky so much that I got the green eyed monster about the fuck buddy showing up one too many times but I could have done without her presence there towards the end. I didn't like the way she acted when the shit hit the fan with Bates what a wimp, proof that Link shouldn't have been with her in any way to me.

I will say that I was also a little disappointed in the HFN type ending that seemed a little rushed. I didn't realize that there is still another full length novel after this series when I read it. It definitely needs a little more closure to this story, I just expected to get it in this one. But I will be reading the next one and hopefully it won't be too long before we get the completion to this story.

I loved the grey area that Link rested in. I could understand why he wanted revenge and I felt for him. But both Link and I could see how that didn't make it right. How it turned him into a bit of a monster as well. There were moments where I knew if things went how they should, how you'd want them to in real life, then he'd be arrested. I liked the balanced between how he felt he had to get vengeance yet how he felt bad as well. He still had his conscious and I wanted him to be able to move on.

Link and Rocky were a great match. Their romance wasn't hearts and butterflies and cuddly bunnies. Both of them were too broken for that. But there was healing for both of them. Of finding someone worth living for and finding their strength. There was something beautiful in that.
