Too slow and repetitive

Half the book was full chapter “flashbacks” from the first book. The plot was better but every other paragraph was a flashback that made the pace feel slow.

It was good. I wasn’t as into it as book 1. But I’m glad they all had a resolve

Ms. Ma'am you wrote the ever-loving hell out of Part 2...when I tell you....i was locked in on this damn story. IT WAS LITERALLY A F*CK THIS JOB AND DEM KIDS TYPE OF DAY!!🤣

Your pen is truly blessed.

NOW FOR THE CHAOTIC REVIEW:

Rylie Rose is every bit of passed unhinged...i mean she CRAY CRAY and I loved it. Oh girl was def off her nutter, a lot of screws loose and it was just what Octavio needed. The scene of her breaking in....haha, wow she bold and it worked in her favor. I can't even be mad at her. Every time she breaks in...I died laughing🤣.

The situation with Angel...damn girl was trying to keep people safe but it was literally killing her. Her and Detavio needed each other like people needed air to breath. So, though he was mad I was happy he heard her out and still wanted to protect her.

Angel's Parents = deserves a place under hell. Mom might be forgiven but her dad can rot.... ugh!!

Oh, shit the twist and turns in this book was something that I didn't even imagine. I mean I did entertain the idea that that person was somewhere but i def dismissed it...so yeah, I was shook. Also, the ultimatum, like the hell bitch better back the hell off, cause I'd catch a body behind Monni.

Maylee...you are not the one, I need you to know your place you are lit the extra. I like that Detavio still mad at her but still holds her in high regard. I liked their dynamic though after feelings were talked about.

I do like how the brothers fell into step with each other. Though Detavio had been the lead...Monster being the Oldest def ran interference with being the voice of unhinged reason.

The brothers being able to talk about their traumas with each other had my eyes misty, because they really suffered differently but it gave the same results in different fonts.

Not Syren saying what she said...i couldn't believe it....a literal WTF!!! moment.

The psychotic break that Rylie Rose had broke my heart, I def felt for her and Octavio, the way he understood her and didn't judge was so sweet. (like i know she past unhinged but again layers🤣)

The way the Guys are learning to love their significant....I just can't the women came and healed not only their loves little by little but also themselves. Will the guys ever be normal, no... but they now have their forevers in their corner.

This book was amazing as always, Masterpiece...you did that. can't wait for the shorts that you give us. THE COVERS ARE AMAZING. Again you wrote the hell out of this book. it is a five star for me.

My Brother’s Keeper

All I’m going to say outside this book being DELICIOUSLY GOOD is that RILEY ROSE, came and left no crumbs!!!…I loved every single thing about her!!!…A woman on a mission to capture the heart of the man that captured her heart!!!…
I love how all 3 of the brothers came together to heal together and share their stories!!!…My heart broke the most for Monster, but he had a woman that was so willing to help him heal while healing herself!!!…There is something to be said about broken ppl who live in their truths and willing to do the work to become better ppl!!!…
Angel, a broken women who wanted nothing but the love her parents, but pushed to a point of fear and pressures to do the most regrettable thing, but willing to work on repairing herself to be better than the ones she sought approval from!!!…
That conversation btwn Monster and Octavio had me in tears, because Monster spk nothing but the truth!!!…I had to let those words resonate with me!!!…
Detavio got his woman and together they will be a force!!!…I loved that for them!!!…I was glad that Detavio was honest about how he felt about sharing himself with 2 ppl when he knew was his WHOLE HEART and he was not willing to be in a poly relationship knowing he couldn’t be fully vested with the other woman!!!…

The Decebals

We got to see the “softer”side of the Decebal brothers. We witnessed them accepting love and navigating through their relationships and becoming soft for their women. This book is a bit milder than the first installment. It tied up a lot of the loose ends left in book one and brought the closure they were desperately seeking. Seeing Monster releasing trauma, embracing love, and taking his place at the head of his family was everything!

I was a little disappointed in this book. It seemed a bit rushed. I don’t mind flashbacks, but constantly rewriting scenes and chapters from the previous book seems like filler. I was expecting so much more.

Oh yeah….Rylie Rose is crazy as two hells!!! That’s it….that’s all

dont kill me yall… but ill give a… 3.5/ 5 BECAUSE

i feel like things were missing. we were left off with a cliff hanger from book 1. doesnt really touch too much about that plot. i wanted more info about herringbone and his master plan. a new introduced character, syren was killed off before we even …. got a chance IDK. i highly anticipated this book and it just didnt give. i feel like it was rushed. i rather have waited longer than to get a rushed book. PLUS the flashbacks were very long and seemed like the same exact words from book 1.

few grammar issues

nonetheless i love author masterpiece

RYLIE ROSE YOU MY GIRL🤣🤣🤣

Listen… this book was straight filth in the best way 😮‍💨🔥. The drama had me hooked, the men were toxic but FINE, and the tension? Whew, stressful and sexy. Masterpiece gave us chaos, power plays, and hood royalty vibes. I was mad, turned on, and entertained the whole time.

5/5 — toxic, messy, and I loved EVERY second. Don’t read it around your grandma, though 😭💅🏾

Monster is still my man…His character development was chefs kiss. This book is better than the first …..Masterpiece put her whole ass 🍑 in this book 🤣

Okay storyline. I loved this follow up. While I enjoyed watching them on their healing journeys, I honestly could’ve done without all the flashbacks to book 1. At one point, I had to pause and double check that I was still reading the second book. The addition of Rylie Rose was chefs kiss lol. Octavio definitely needed someone to match his crazy. He may not think he’s as bad as his brothers, but it’s still in there. Rylie accepted herself for who she was and was the perfect person to help Octavio do the same.

The plot was solid and kept me locked in the whole time. One of my favorite parts was seeing how Detavio, Octavio, and Monster all brothers navigated their relationship after being torn apart as kids. Even with everything they went through, you could always feel the love they had for one another.

Monster's story really hit me emotionally. After everything he went through, it was powerful to watch his walls slowly come down especially once Natavi entered his life. You could tell he always had a good heart it just took the right person to bring it out.

Octavio's storyline was also heavy and heartbreaking. What his mother put him through really shaped him, but I loved seeing his growth and the way he's learning to love and be loved. I'm especially interested in reading more about him and Rylie Rose and I'm excited that the author plans to expand on his story. I was also glad to see some healing take place between Detavio and his relationship with Angel.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. My only critique is that I wish there had been a little more action but aside from that it was a strong read.

What can I say?

Book 2 definitely gave more context and was written in a way where we really got to know the characters more and I appreciate that so much because of the premise of the book. At times, I didn’t know where this story was going but I loved seeing the brothers form an unbreakable bond and finally learn how to flesh out emotions and love on the women.

Hmm

I loved book 1 really bad. This one felt super rushed. Almost every chapter held long flashbacks which took away from space in the book that could have been used for more details to build this story. Seemed very surface level… also, this called filth kings, why can I count the smutty scenes on one hand? Definitely fell short compared to number 1.

This book was so good. I couldn’t wait to start it. I have so much to touch on but, I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. If you have read book one you know Monster, DeTavio, Impurity, James, Mr. Herringbone, Octavio/a, and the rest of the crew. Well in Part 2 everyone gave the highest level of drama. There was angst, there was family bonds, there was betrayal, there was unaliving, there was depression, mental illness, oh and there was my girl Riley Rose. 🥀 I loved her character and would love to see her have a book on her back story. While this book gave some, and I meannnn what she did to Serene. Shocker. While there were and will be in most books some grammatical issues, none and I do mean none hindered you from being able to read and understand the book. I read right on by them and gave this book a 5 star rating because, I was able to keep flowing with the book despite of it. I love Masterpiece and her pen, she is so creative and descriptive with the world building and giving you the mental visual of the characters in the story. At times I was touched, surprised, in shock, clutched my pearls, and swooned during this book. Read Filth Kings 1 and 2.

The Filth Kings II continues to follow the lives of the three Decebal brothers—Detavio, Monster, and Octavio. After the events of the first book, they are dangerously close to finding peace. However, a "buried enemy" from their past resurfaces, forcing Detavio and Monster to confront their dark history to protect the women they have come to love. Meanwhile, Octavio's life is disrupted by a new and determined woman named Rylie Rose, who is set on making him hers. The book explores themes of betrayal, love, and the consequences of their past actions in the gritty underworld they inhabit.

Authoress Masterpiece delivers emotionally charged character arcs and high-stakes tension throughout. While the story is compelling and the relationships are raw and intense, the pacing is slowed by extended flashbacks—many of which repeat scenes from the first book. This repetition occasionally detracts from the forward movement of the plot.

Still, for readers invested in the Decebal brothers and their brutal, complex world, this finale offers closure, character growth, and a strong emotional payoff. A dark, dramatic, and satisfying conclusion to the series.

If you look up dysfunctional family in the dictionary, you’ll see the Decebels! The Filth Kings series by @Authoress_Masterpiece on still has me digesting!

This was my first dive into dark romance, I had no clue what to expect, but I was NOT prepared for the intensity. From child neglect and abuse to other triggers, this storyline a lot, HOWEVER, the way love grew out of that tragedy really hooked me.

The three brothers Monster, Datavio, and Octavio were the very definition of roses that grew from concrete. Watching these broken men learn to love and be loved properly was so everything . But don't be fooled, their infatuation is obsessive, the spice level is 🌶️🔥, and the twist and turns were non-stop.

Whether you’re reading or listening to the audio, pay attention! You cannot skip a single word or you’ll miss a critical piece of the puzzle. Plus, the comedy sprinkled in was top tier!

If you’re looking for something completely immersive, I highly encourage you to tap in. I didn't know what to expect, but I definitely wasn't disappointed!

Great finale

Monster, Dectavio, and Oactavio never knew how to express or give love because they never received it themselves. Their father Purity was the devil himself, all his life he hid his true self instead of embracing it he found ways to torture others.
From Angel trying to uncover Purity and his son illegal activities she waa not aware of what secrets and consequences would occur from her actions. So many secrets came out ad well as each brother finding their other half that would show them what love is, how to love and to be your true self all while allowing some light into their dark souls.
Now Riley Rose had hee own issues but I enjoyed the way she embraced her true self and never gave up on the man she.claimed at an young age. Can't wait to read more about Octavia and Riley Rose escapades.

5 Star Read

Okay…book 2 said “you thought the drama was enough in book one? Think again.” Because why am I stressed, emotional, AND invested all at the same time!

The secrets were OUT OF CONTROL.
The relationships were Messy as hell.
The tension was Through. The. Roof.

Every time I thought a character was about to get it together, BOOM… another revelation hit me. And the emotional layers in this one hit waaaaaay deeper. Like now I’m sitting here side-eyeing everybody but still rooting for outcomes I probably shouldn’t be rooting for 😩😂

Materpiece definitely turned the intensity up in this sequel. The passion is louder, the betrayals cut deeper, and the character struggles feel even more real.

Not gonna lie… this book had me talking to the pages like the characters could hear me. I need emotional recovery time!

An intense read but baby it’s so good!

I NEED A DRANK!!!

So first, i felt like every chapter was just more and more until everything really connected. So so much going on. It was a rollercoaster to say the least! All thes mfs we thought were dead just popping up! Crazy work!! But Ms. Rylie Rose took the cake with her crazy. Like, i get it, but damn shawty was delulu. Glad she got her man or whateva. And baybeeee the way them Decebal brothers leaned on each other to start to heal their broken past…WHEW!! How they loved on their women!! HARD!!! They got real vulnerable and when Monster was talking to Angel about Detavio…i was done!! Tears of shock, love, surprise, adoration, happiness…all that! I love this for themmmm!!!

Audiobook read

Overall: 3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨💫
Plot: 3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨💫
Characters: 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ending: 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️ 🌶️🔥🔥

Narration: 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Great ending to the Filthy King story. Dark and spicy. Nice to see how all the storylines ended. Rylie Rose was a crazy addition. I didn’t love that all the flashbacks were exact passages from book 1. They started to feel like unnecessary fillers and messed with the book’s pacing. Monster had some serious character development. And while Angel and Detavio seemed to be the centerpiece of book 1, it was Monster’s and Natavi’s relationship that grounded book 2.

Overall it was okay. Enjoyed book 1 more, but glad to have all loose ends and side storylines completed.

Closure

I really wish their was a epilogue. Since there will not be a book 3 I would've like to know where they are 1 year from now. Everything else was pretty much buttoned up in this second book. There wasn't any real kink, it was just love and drama. Book one is a dark romance for sure. This one is just a regular drama romance so a easy read.. dare I say I want a James and impurity book? Like what in the world had James sooo sprung? I think that storyline wouldn't added more depth to the debacle storyline than Octavio. Lastly, the brother being together and supporting each other are throughout is heartwarming. Team monster all the way! Always and forever.

The beginning had me side eyeing and wondering why we needed a second book when the first one really could have been a stand alone novel. It just started slow and wasn’t hitting and Rylie Rose just threw me off and all the things felt disjointed and weird for a bit... not to mention a good portion of the book were full on excerpts from book 1 in the form of flashbacks… BUT it made a shift, the overall plot was good and it gave me similar feels as the first book 🥰🥹 Rylie Rose and Octavio’s situation still feels random AF but nevertheless it was decent.

All in all, this series is a true testament to never judge a book by its cover or name!

Okay this was a good wrap up. Now someone’s review said they were annoyed with the “flashbacks” in damn near every chapter! Lol yeah the book could’ve been shorter without all the flashbacks but they were appropriate; but maybe too much.

I love reading the evolution of the Decebal brothers and how they created their own space to be vulnerable and cry with each other.

The biggest disappointment was Angel’s daddy; but overall ALL THE PARENTS ARE TRASH!

“Ruby Rose” is a f’n nutcase and I cringe at female unhinged love interests, I don’t like it! Lol

This was definitely a good read!

The editing could’ve been a lot better. Typos, wrong names used, editing has to improve.

POTENTIAL

I love the first book. Truly a 5star read that I’ll read again. But this book felt rushed. I was really hoping that the characters would be fleshed out more so I could get the bigger picture and feel like I was there in the end. Reading this truly felt like I was an editor. There’s way too much back tracking to the last book. Which I could understand if it came out a long time ago, but the book came out this year. I’m looking forward to Octavio’s series as long as there isn’t so many flashbacks.

One of the BEST dark romances of ALL time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
The plot thickens so much with this second (final) installment of this series. The new characters were strategically placed and developed so well in the story. I’m so happy Monster and Detavio got their HEA’s. The story really led my mind in so many ways. Also can we talk about the SPICE!? NEXT LEVEL!

I can’t wait to read the short erotica’s for more of Octavio story! I would highly recommend this! Can’t wait to read more from this author! 💖

4.5🌶

I like this one better than the first but 20% of this book was massive excerpts from the last book. I found that to be unnecessary and just skipped over it.

I like how we got to see the brothers bond more together. Monster is still my favorite character in the entire series. I feel like both books should have been mostly about Tavi and Monster. I could have lived without the Angel/Detavio storyline.

The Octavio/ Riley Rose storyline was good but I really needed her to get on them meds a lot faster.

I like Octavio a lot as well so it was nice seeing more of him.

Don't rush my happy ending!

I love a happy ending, regardless of how crazy the characters maybe. But this felt rushed. I'd rather have a,3rd book that gave great explanation rather to cut corners and skip in the plot. It was going good for a minute. The dynamic of James rescuing Impurity could be better explained. How and the connection with Emi and how she played into this. What was her and Impurity's relationship? How was she rescued? Where had she been been living? I have questions and that screams 3rd book.

Mind Blown! 🤯

I loved the evolution of Monster, Detavio, and Octavio in this series! They were born into a situation that they didn't know nor ask to be a part of, to some twisted individuals, and persevered nonetheless. Part 2 was just as twisted and crazy as part 1 with all the laughs and "really?" moments. I cannot wait to see what Octavio and his basket case Boo Riley Rose entertains is with.
