Scotty is determined not to have a meaningful relationship for the rest of his life. After losing his parents so tragically and watching his cousin struggle through her demons, he can’t afford to lose anyone else. The nights of random hook ups satisfy him for the time being.
But then he spots Livia in the library, a woman who’s determined to remain invisible, and he’s hooked on her beauty. Wanting another night of passionate sex, he makes a move.
But she rejects him, coldly.
Scotty quickly realizes all he’ll ever get from this girl is friendship. But the longer he gets to know her, the more he realizes it’s better than empty sex. Falling for her deeper than he expected, Scotty realizes he wants something more. But there’s one problem.
Unable to sit still or focus on a single task, I learned at a young age that I was meant to do something that put my entire mind to use. I was always a mimic and did impressions of people in odd places. And that's how my stories began.
But being a great storyteller doesn't mean much when you don't have any listeners. I've been very fortunate to have a fan base that supports my work and encourages me to release sequels. Without all of you, I'd have no purpose. Literally.
My personal life isn't too interesting. My husband is an alpha male that inspires a lot of my novels. He can be pushy and overwhelming at times, but I still love him to the end of my days, especially when I put him in his place. =)
Writing has been a lifelong dream. When I was in college, I was always in awe of the fabulous stories I read. I always said, "I wish I could write something like that someday." But I never thought I would actually do it. Boy, was I wrong.
By far, Unstoppable, book # 4 in the Forehead Kisses series has been my favorite.
The story centers on Scotty and Livia. Both are very layered characters. Scotty is a history major who wants to be a fighter. Livia is a painter who is very analytical. They have sworn off relationships until they meet one another. Together they are very sweet. Both are broken souls who need to learn how to trust.
Scotty is just the sweetest guy. I thought he was good from the first books in this series and how supportive he was with his cousin, Keira. But with Livia it's what he was, times ten. Scotty may look tough on the outside but his soul is pure good.
Livia seems to have had something very traumatic happen to her so she is closed off. Im guessing that in Book #5 we will get to learn in detail what that is. And see how she and Scotty finally learn to love and trust one another completely because they didnt end on the highest of notes in this book and that makes my heart ache because they are soooo amazing together.
Besides, Scotty and Livia, this book introduces us to Ash, Livia's brother, who will be the focus of the last two books in this series. I think there is more to him than a pretty boy rich guy who likes to sleep around. I think there is a very good heart underneath it all because he is a very good brother to Livia.
My rating: 4.5/5 This book was a quick read and ended on a huge cliffhanger. I need more!
I really did like the premise of this book, but it should've been a standalone, not two books. Scotty and Livia shared a beautiful budding love story but she's hiding a secret that she fears could cause Scotty to no longer want her. Unfortunately the reader is no closer to knowing this big secret on the last page of this book as you were on the first page. This key part of the story should have been revealed to help move the story along. Instead, Livia kept not only Scotty in the dark, but also her brother Ash. She grew as a character during this story but took ten steps backwards at the end, disappointing. On the flip side, Scotty changed his ways immensely when he got involved with Livia. It was great to see his character evolve. Good book, just a bit drawn out.
I have to say I'm slightly disappointed in this next book in the series. Scotty was one of my favorite characters and I was excited to read his story but this book seemed to go nowhere fast. It was the same thing over and over and the reader still has no clue what happened to Livia when it comes to its conclusion. I found it super odd that a brother she was so close to wouldn't push her to find out what happened 6 months prior to make her walk away from her life and become a recluse. The story was so much like Liam and Keira's that it was almost boring at times. I hope the second one is better
The first few books were OK. I liked the story but didn't love it. In book 4 I realized it was spinning off onto Scotty and it was more or less the same story. I forced myself to read it but I'm stopping there. If they were free I'd continue but they're not so I'm done.
