What the hell, Yuno? ~Yukki
Yuno killed her parents? And held Yukki captive? She really needs a therapist!
On the other hand Akise is quite smart guy. Yukki needs this kind of friends.

This is a review of the entire series!
I debated between giving this 2 or 3 stars, and would lean more toward 2.5. There were a couple of things I really liked about it, but many more things I really didn't like about it.
High schooler Yukiteru Amano is a socially awkward loner who considers himself a bystander. He'd rather mind his own business instead of getting involved with other people, writing every mundane activity of his life in a cellphone diary. Secretly tormented by his solitude, he invents an imagery friend called Deus Ex Machina who claims to be the Lord of Time & Space. Taking pity on the lonesome Yuki, Deus grants his diary the ability to record future events. After learning that 11 other people with unique future diaries show up around Japan, Yuki learns that Deus is not a product of his imagination, and he has been selected to take part in a death game that involves fighting to become the next ruler of causality by outsmarting each other with their new prophetic devices. Luckily for Yuki, one of the death game's participants is his fellow classmate Yuno Gasai, the prettiest girl in his school who happens to love him so much that she would put her life on the line to protect him.
Speaking of Yuno, she's where most of the fun comes from. She's a severely unstable, possessive sociopath that will happily slaughter anyone and anything that get in the way of her selfish romantic fantasies. She's famous for inventing the infamous yandere trope (psycho/killer/stalker love interest) While she can technically be seen as the villain of the series and it's hard to fully sympathize with her because of how violent, impulsive and controlling she is, all of the other characters are so unlikable and bland that I often found myself rooting for her to just rip everyone else in the story to shreds.
Yuki is the main character, but he's such a whiny and idiotic pushover that I couldn't connect with the unhealthy relationship brewing between him and Yuno. I understand it's supposed to be a psychological thriller, but the story seemed to romanticize their relationship rather than portraying it for what it really was: predatory, abusive and horribly toxic. I would've rather had Yuno as the main protagonist and explore her tragic and demented backstory through much more intriguing characters to bounce off of rather than through a relationship with one of the lamest dudes in manga history.
The plot jumps around way too fast. None of the competitors have interesting personalities or motives so I didn't really feel any stakes or tension in the action. The only side character I somewhat liked is (funnily enough) another batshit crazy girl who plays the role of a cosplaying terrorist named Uryuu Minene. The dialogue could get really bad as the characters never reacted to death, betrayal or horrifying situations realistically. There's a point where a character discovers three dead bodies in his girlfriend's house, runs away in fear, then casually remains her partner for the rest of the series like nothing ever happened. There are many more scenes exactly like this where characters don't react and process things in remotely realistic or believable ways.
Some of the twists in the later parts of the series involving time and causality were admittedly cool, but they're introduced in a rushed and convoluted way which makes it feel messy overall. The action was good, there were a few emotional moments and the absolute chaotic nature of Yuno and Uryuu were exciting to watch unfold, but everything else about the characters, story and conflict of the narrative fall apart at the seams.

Uh oh, Yuno crosses another line here... The new diary holders bring different kinds of problems for the main cast which is of course crucial for a murder game story to keep it surprising and hooking you to the series. Akise is still as mysterious as in the last volume but I think he's currently the most interesting character because of it.

Lo que más me molesta de este manga es como en general autor intenta hacer que TODO tenga un giro, incluso a costa de que algunas veces nada tenga sentido. Lo que mas me gusta es el misterio sobre la locura de Yuno, hasta ahora nos muestran que está profundamente perturbada, pero nunca nos muestran realmente por qué, y eso es lo que me mantiene leyendo hasta ahora. Yukiteru es un pésimo protagonista, me aburre a más no poder.

Thank god this was the last one i had to read.
Art style improved from the first 5 books

- storyline was choppy and didnt make sense
- Characters are not fully fleshed out and their decisions dont match their personalities

Im still not sure what to think about it. It still has its stupid moments, but then again I also kinda like Yuno being so disgustingly creepy. Lets go to the next volume.

The story still has a strong hold on me; Yuno Gasai is a fascinating and mysterious character. Solving her mysteries is the greatest inducement to reading on.

It’s so bad but so good. Everybody sucks but Yuno but she is must-see TV. Kidnapping Yuki and skewering Kousaka with a crossbow is banana bro. Also, 7th is a great stupid fun villain.

Oh whoa at the craziness of this series. It it so over-the-top, and I love it. Yuno had officially gone crazy. She was pretty creepy to begin with, but that was nothing compared to what she's up to this time. Yuki's friends really step up for him. They make some sacrifices and most of them get hurt in the process of rescuing him. The best part is when Yuki finally stands up for himself. Yuno does her crazy-girl-in-love act. This time Yuki tells her to go to hell. I was so proud! The only problem? Well, they're being attacked by more diary owners and let's be honest, Yuno is much more equipped to defeat them than Yuki is. He puts his trust in her again, hoping that she really is only trying to protect him. I have no doubt that her intentions are mostly good. She wants Yuki to be safe. The problem is that she's severely unhinged and she will destroy anything and anyone that stands between her and Yuki. She has no problem killing to protect him, and that scares the hell out of him. It's enough to scare the hell out of anyone. Her devotion has rapidly turned from flattering and a little creepy to absolutely insane. Can't wait to see how she handles the new diary holders.

Yuno and Yukiteru have both been missing for a week and Akise and the others are getting worried. Akise tricks the others to help him find Yukiteru in a general location that he has broken down to where Yuno might be keeping Yukiteru captive. But when Akise and the others get there, Yuno has them up to their necks with trouble, and they're going to need the help of their damsel, Yukiteru, to save all their lives!
This was a larger volume than the others, eh? It also focused on something kinda different from the others as well. The other volumes always followed a pattern of sorts. All of the previous volumes were always about one to three (excluding First, Second, and Fourth) diary holders and their schemes against our protagonists. But this, this is different. This is confusing me a little bit. ...I like it.

En gros, un manga à l'aspect psychologique si développé (si tordu aussi!) qu'on se demande qui est l'auteur dans la "vraie" vie, un battle royale qui mélange action, suspens et addictivité, une histoire d'amour qui sort des sentiers battus. Bref, un manga qui aurait mérité un point de plus si je n'avais pas été un peu perplexe devant les 2 derniers tomes, mais que je recommande tout de même pour son côté "décalé". Je ne l'oublierais pas de sitôt !

I'm really happy with the turn their relationship took in this volume! I also really like Yukiteru's new friends.
There are only 4 volumes remaining in the US to read... 12 volumes total but the last two will not be published in the US due to Tokyopop going out of business. I know this is going to anger me and I have only myself to blame for starting this series knowing I won't know how it ends. Grr.

Sin duda esta ha sido la parte que más nervioso me ha puesto. No solo porque haya intriga (que la hay), sino porque me dan ganas de matar a alguien. En este tomo se han utilizado muchos deus ex machina (una casualidad que ocurre y que nunca antes en la historia se había planteado para salir de una situación peliaguda) que dan ganas de entrar en el cómic, matar a todos y acabar siendo Dios tú mismo. En fin, que me gusta la saga pero no este tomo en concreto.

Vi el anime hace como 3 semanas y realmente me impactó tanto que decidí comprar el manga. Desgraciadamente no he podido encontrar aún los primeros números.
Siempre me intriga las cosas que Yuno puede llegar a hacer por Yukki. En este volumen de manga no es la excepción. Ansiosa por leer los siguientes. ❤️

No recordaba absolutamente nada de esta parte, osea de verdad que mi mente hizo poum y todo se obvio. Ha sido como si lo viese todo por primera vez
