I luv Carly she is so hilarious.
I have been so looking forward to this book since I first seen Carly in the first book to this series. Which I 've been on a Temptation series binge it's such a great series. Carly's character is just brilliant the things that come out of this woman's mouth is just hil You would know what's she's goin to come out with.
"Sweet baby cheeses, yes! But no. OMG! I need to de-fuzz. I need a colonic irrigation. I need to sharpen my nails. I need to strengthen my facial muscles."

It was nice to see a different side to Carly in this book. I 've been so used to seeing her being sassy, funny and just having a great time. But Carly doesn't do love or relationships and she finds it hard to trust people who she doesn't know. So Derek had a hard time getting her to give him chance. It was great though seeing her go through the emotions with Derek she was always just up for having fun but with Derek the attraction was that strong it was hard to fight.
Derek is very hard to resist. He is smoking hot and has the whole sexy V thing goin on. He's a fireman which is super sexy then he plays guitar how can you not like that. Then to top it off he's the lead singer in a band. So let's be honest there isn't much that you can't like. The only really thing that is annoying is that he can be quite closed of at time and I could understand why this annoyed Carly so much. With her having her trust issues it did make things hard for them at times. But Derek was hooked with Carly from the start he couldn't get enough of her.
I have to say this book was so good. I loved the humour Carly would have me laughing throughout this book I didn't know what she was goin to say. Then you had Derek with his horrible chat up lines. God he came out with some bad ones. One thing that these to had from the start was sexual chemistry it was smoking hot. Even when things got in there way they were still hot. I don't think I can look at mint sauce and not think of these two again haha.
I would highly recommend this book it has everything in it great story hot characters and loads of lol moments which I just loved. It was great getting to see Alexis Bryce and Lucy again. But what I did like was Libby and Will do I would luv more of them I need to know if something happens between them so fingers crossed I get more. But overall great book I cant wait for more.

First off Attraction can be read as a STAND ALONE. Whether you have read the Temptation series or not you will be able to follow along and enjoy. In fact if you are a fan of the Temptation series you will be overjoyed at the somewhat continuation of Alexis & Bryce's story as it is somewhat interwoven in Attraction. There are lots of fun and well developed background characters that are colorful and add to the story line. I personally (and I am almost positive you all will too) thoroughly enjoyed Will and Libia (Whoops I mean Lib). The best characters however , as they should be, are Carly and Derek.
Honestly at the beginning Carly comes off a bit strong , almost as she is trying to hard. At first I wasn't sure if this was part of the story or an oversight of the author but as I continued to read I realized this was part of who Carly is (for reasons you will figure out as well as you continue into the story). Snarky isn't actually the word for her more like confident and sarcastic. She exudes confidence and its almost funny because her life is not exactly where it should be, but this is just one brick that makes up Carly's house of denial. I love that she is in her mid thirties and embraces her sexuality. This is 100% genuine in her soul , it's not another brick, it's part of her as much in her DNA as her hair color. There is one catch however about her sexuality but you'll have to read to find out.
Derek...oh myyyy! I love that the author jumps right in and doesn't write the usual build up of the typical male character. He is a male version of Carly...to a point. The part of Carly that scares her is the same that scares Derek , but in different ways-so together they fit like two perfect puzzle pieces completing each other. Derek is the manly man with a bit of alpha in the more intimate ways...all of them. He is the perfect match up for Carly.
There is humor in this story as well. The "breaking of the ice" in their special way is hilarious and loved it. Carly demands Derek step up to his insecurities, which he does in a way. Derek demands Carly step up to hers as well, which we find out if she does 100% by the end of the story. There are a few twists along the way that keeps the story flowing and the reader engaged.
I hope you read Carly & Derek's story and enjoy it as much as I did.

You met Carly and Derek in the original series. I loved these characters so much that, of course, I had to give them their own story.
These two were made for each other—chalk and chalk, cheese and cheese.

OMFG THIS BOOK IS FREAKING SMOKIN' HOT!!!
What can I say about this book? I feel that KM Golland has seriously outdone herself this time - Attraction is fast paced, utterly hilarious, sexy as sin, and heartfelt in all the right places!
If you've read KM's Temptation:, Satisfaction, Fulfillment: and Attainment, you would have been introduced to Carly and Derek. Carly is fun, flirty and fuckable. She swears like a sailor, has absolutely no filter, and shags like a porn star. Working in a primary school's office has cemented Carly's dislike of snot-nosed kids. She is utterly loyal to those that she loves, including her best friend Alexis. Her life is a blur of drinks, parties and endless one night stands.
And then came along Derek.
Derek Ian King... aka DIK...
WOW! Is this guy delicious or what? If you could hit speed dial for an orgasm, Derek would pick up at the other end of the phone. Not only is he outrageously gorgeous, with abs that you could wash your crotchless undies on, he is also incredibly devoted to his career - a firefighter! (On a side note, I'm seriously considering burning my house down to see if Derek will come to rescue me! LOL!) Derek is also the lead singer of a popular local band 'Live Trepidation', making him the object of every woman's dirtiest fantasy. He oozes sex, sex and more sex.
When these two meet, the world melts around them. KM has managed to capture the vulnerability and passion of a new attraction, and it's so amazing to watch this book seamlessly unfold. I am not going to give too much away, but the chemistry level between these two has hit level SEXUAL NAPALM!
I recommend... no, I DEMAND that you pre-order this book at once. Between the laughs, blushworthy sexy bits, and the unforeseeable PLOT TWIST (Yes, PLOT TWIST!!!), you'll be hooked.... line and sinker!
KM Golland has earned each and every five stars of this review with this amazing standalone to the best-selling Temptation Series. I really just want to read more and more of her work - this book is FLAWLESS!

We met Carly and Derek in the other books... (Although this book can be read as a standalone I personally recommend reading Bryce and Alexis first to get the full effect!)
I loved them both.... I mean come on?! Derek is a hot as fuck firefighter and also in a band??? Hello hot stuff!
And Carly? Well she's just awesome! She has her own way with words that I loved.
KM has a great sense of humour and it shines in all her books, this one is no exception, the one liners were snortastic!
What also shines? Is her ability to write one hell of a sex scene! Bruce and Alexis were scorching, Carly and Derek though? I thought I was going to spontaneously combust!
Ok so the actual story? I don't want to ruin anything, but this is about 2 mature adults, both very stubborn, both very sexual, learning to let each other in.
There is laughter and tears, smiles, giggles and sighs.
We go back in time to their first meeting, and parts in between that we saw Carls and DIK throughout the first 3 books but from their POV's not B&A's.
Personally as a Melbournian, just like with the other books I loved the Melbourne references of places ( GO PIE'S!) and Aussie humor thrown in that's not in your face.
The sexual innuendo's, Carly and Derek's inner thoughts will have you laughing your head off!
Oh! It also comes with an epilogue... And an extended epilogue! What's not to love about that?!
All in all? I loved it... And if Bruce didn't already own my heart, Derek totally would!
Def recommend this series to ANYONE out there!

There's times when reading a series you love, that secondary characters pique your interest, it's their story you can't wait for, in the case of KM Golland's hugely popular Temptation series - it was Bryce and Alexis' best friends Carly and Derek that had me intrigued, it can be a tricky undertaking to give two secondary characters in a well established series their own story, a full novel dedicated to primarily them, but in ️️Attraction Golland executed it seamlessly.
Carly, Alexis' brash, loud mouthed, lacking a filter best friend was hilarious, her love and dedication to her friends was clear, but what made her stand out was her direct, take no bullshit personality. Derek, Bryce's best friend, band mate, and sexy as sin fire fighter had definitely proved he was the kind of character you wanted to know more about.
What I adored about Attraction was that this story ran concurrently to the Temptation series, so every little scene where we the reader got to glimpse into the lives of Carly and Derek we finally see fully realised in their story, while I strongly suggest you read the Temptation series first, Attraction could be read as a stand alone, as there is enough explained throughout this story to give a reader new to KM Golland's work a background of the supporting characters.
There's something about strong willed, independent, smart, make up loving, feminine lead characters that I not adore reading about but feel connected to. What I adore about Golland's stories are that the female characters maintain their femininity, whilst still be strong and independent, proving that the two aren't mutually exclusive. I had hoped that Attraction would quench my literary thirst for this world KM had created but instead it's left me wanting more, of her words, her stories, her characters.

5 Mint Saucy Stars
Move over Bryce Clark and make room for Firefighter Derek "Dik" King and his hose cause KM Golland has only gone and produced another amazing book in this series that is fast becoming one of my favourites.
This is the story of Carly and Derek. It would be unfair of me to compare this book to Bryce and Alexis' story, because while it complements the series so so much, it has a completely different feel to it than any of the previous books.
This story takes place from the time of Alexis' (Carly's best friend) birthday, so throughout the book there are many events that take place, readers of this series are already familiar with and also some new ones.
I don't think I've ever laughed so much whilst reading. The dialogue between characters and Carly's inner monologues are truly one of the funniest things I've ever read. Even Derek's cheesy chat up lines have the power to put a smile on anyone's face.
I love Carly, I may even have a slight girl crush. I love her, I love her sense of humour, especially the banter with her roommate Libby and I love her carefree attitude, well at least that's the attitude she likes to portray to everyone around her, but as the saying goes " don't judge a book by its cover." Carly has many more layers to her that I believe only Derek has the capacity to unravel. And boy does he unravel them.
As for Derek, he's a firefighter, enough said, but there's is much more to him than a pretty face, a sexy body and a singing voice that can make knickers melt. He is much more complex and caring and we get to see that side of him throughout.
This book has left me feeling really happy and whilst it doesn't deliver the same kind of drama as we are accustomed to in this series, it's still a book worthy of 5 stars if not more.

Truly enjoyed reading the series. I highly recommend the Temptation series. It is a great escape read!Enjoyed the discussion between the characters. Highly entertaining! I look forward to more books written by K.M. Holland.

This book is Laugh out loud, fall off your seat hilarious with a main helping of scorching hot sexual attraction and a side dish heartache. ß All covered in Mint Sauce of course ;)
“I just made you come with one finger. Imagine what I can do with two?”
My mouth dropped open at the very thought of coming on his fingers. I wanted to come and I wanted him to make me do it.
“That one was a little better,” I choke out, clearing my throat, “But it appears you will have eight other fingers that are just sitting around and doing nothing.”
“Trust me, Carly,” Derek said with a seductive glint, “they wouldn’t be doing nothing.”
I first read K.M. Golland back in March of this year and I was completely addicted to her Temptation series. I read all four books about Bryce and Alexis in one week. Then I found out there was going to be a fifth book revolving around Derek and Carly and I have been super excited about this release for months. Even though this is part of the Temptation series it can 100 percent be read as a standalone novel.
Ok so Carly! Carly! Carly! Carly! What can I say about Carly? Well- she is not your typical reserved or laid back female lead. She is a sexual deviant and is proud of it. She is hilarious when she talks about her “Carly Cave” and she is open and proud of her experience when it comes to the opposite sex. At times she comes off as a bit immature to me but she is not—its just how she is. She is not the relationship type of girl that sees herself settling or with kids. She is quite the opposite actually. I’m not usually a fan of over the top funny- but Carly is right on the line. She is 100 percent hilarious without being ridiculous about it. I absolutely loved her.
Derek- Sexy as hell Firefighter Derek who has the voice that will send you to your knees. He is one of the sexiest male leads I have read this year. He is funny! So funny- his one liners are laugh out loud hilarious. But he is honest and true and I loved his never ending pursuit in getting what he wants.
The best part about this story is that right off the bat- when these characters meet their sexual attraction is tummy clenching hot. They are honest about what they want with each other but it’s all done in a fun and playful way. They don’t take themselves too seriously. Derek is confident he can put out the fire burning in the Carly Cave and Carly wants nothing more than to be extinguished by Derek’s blissfully beautiful fire hose.
Derek clicked his jaw from side to side and stood upright before swigging his beer and piercing me with a hearted stare. That one look spoke many things. It said I was going to get fucked. Fucked hard and for however long he wanted to fuck me.
Oh… fuck!
However, life gets in the way and things don’t always go as planned. While Derek deals with family drama, Carly is terrified of what she is already feeling for this man she barely knows. Carly doesn’t trust easily and when she finds out the truth about Derek’s past she is heartbroken and scared.
I loved how roles were kind of opposite in this book. Derek- even with his panty melting looks and sexy as fuck job- isn’t the player you would think he would be. Carly on the other hand, lets just say she is very open about how many times she has done “things” and is proud of it but not in a slutty way. Carly is just a very sexual and confident woman and together they just “are”.
Normally I would be happy a storyline wrapped up in one book and left me with no cliffy but I have to say that I wish their story would have been dragged out into two books. I think the timeline of the story went by very fast and some of the drama/angst could have been played out a bit more but overall it was still an amazing read. The Temptation series- every single book in it is one of my favorite series to date.
KM Golland is a must read author for me. She is funny and sexy and makes me want things that I never ever do like cliffys and angst and *gasp* even a little cheating.
The feeling that shot through my fingers, up my arm and throughout my body as our skin connected, was pretty much indescribable. But I will say this: It’s a feeling that happens once in a lifetime, a result of finding ‘the one’, of connecting with someone beyond attraction. It’s the feeling of finding your soul mate.

I felt like I had been waiting for this book for ever, when I was lucky enough to win a copy of the ARC! This book is the fourth book of the Temptation series but it can be read as a stand alone. You get a better feel for the characters if you read the Temptation series first, but it isn't necessary.
Carly is a filter-free, strong lead who is always on the look out for a good time. She is loyal to her friends and loves her life, but doesn't think she wants a serious relationship. Derek is a firefighter, lead singer and the best friend of Carly's BFF's man. The two are hot for each other right away, however their love story isn't as easy and complication free as it should be. This book had me laughing out loud, yelling at my Ipad and gasping with my hand flung over my mouth whispering "oh my god!" at 1am. I couldn't get enough of the Carly-isms and Derek's cheesy, but seriously funny, pick up lines.
I fell in love with KM Golland's writing style when I read her first book Temptation and I quicky read the following books in the series. I was worried that Carly and Derek's story would fall short of the first books, as the chemisty between Brylexis was so intense. I was worring for nothing! Carly and Derek are scorching hot!
I loved how Attraction fit into the timeline of the first three books, characters we know and love are present but we get to see a different side to the story. KM was clever in that she was able to make this a strong stand alone but continue to develop the world she created in Temptation, Satisfaction and Fulfillment/Attainment. As with her other books, Attraction is a well written story with strong believable characters.
I am giving Attraction 5 hot, steamy, funny, well written stars. A MUST READ SERIES!

I have just spent the last few days in book heaven, I didn't want this book to end, every single word was a pleasure to read. I greedily devoured this book but really wish I could start it all over again, just pure bliss.
I read KM Golland's Temptation series over Christmas last year, so the characters of Derek and Carly I already knew - Although you don't need to read the Temptation series to enjoy Attraction, that story is in the background, alongside Carly and Derek's unique story !
I want to be Carly, she is a breath of fresh air, she says wants she likes - which is just hilarious- does want she wants when she wants, is a ferocious and loyal friend and thinks she knows what she wants, that is until firefighter Derek enters the picture ! He is smokin' hot firefighter- yes there are loads of innuendos about large hoses and parts that need extinguishing but hey I'm a Brit I love a good innuendo and KM Golland is the queen of them. The banter between Carly and Derek is off the wall, top that with the sexual chemistry that sizzles between them this made for the perfect read.
Parts of this story had me literally roiling on the floor with laughter, tears rolling down my cheeks and then on the flip side there are some tense and close to heartbreaking scenes too.
What I also enjoyed was dipping back into Alexis and Byrce's story but from their friends perspective, it was like meeting back up with old friends.

I didn't enjoy this like I hoped I would. I've read my fair share of erotic novels so that wasn't the issue. (Although I didn't find the sex scenes erotic at all.) The main character was just so obnoxious and rude and most of the characters dialogue with each other was just ridiculous. I read other reviews that it was meant to be comedic but it just came off as plain ridiculous and over the top to me, not my kind of humour I guess.
i didn't buy any kind of romance or actual real affection built from getting to know each other from the main couple. Their whole romance literally came off as just physical attraction with sudden declarations of love.
The conflict points were often silly and contrived and read like soap opera plot lines. Also Carly was so ridiculous and unreasonable, she created half of the drama herself by just being silly.
Also the one random chapter in Derek's view (not including the chapter in the epilogue) felt really random in the structure of the novel. It wasn't even really necessary and with no follow up Derek POV chapters it didn't make sense having one pop up in the middle of the book for no real reason.
Overall I can see how this novel would fair well with it's target audience but it just really wasn't my cup of tea.

This book was amazing KM Golland is one of my favorite authors and this book proves me right this book is hilarious sexy as hell and made me cry too. The books that make you feel different emotions is the best books. Carly and Dereck are so perfect for each other their the same person in so many ways in the best ways. They spoke their minds regardless what comes out their sex together was amazingly hotttttt loved it.
Carly is a fun loving chick who loves her friends with everything she has I wish I had her as a friend. And Dereck is a sexy ass firefighter who isn't afraid to tell Carly what's on his mind especially his dirty mind that was the best his corny lick up lines it was so funny. But the only thing is they both had walls up and they have to work hard to put each others walls down it takes work.
This story was absolutely amazing and you will not be disappointed when you read it KM Golland out did herself.

I found the "heroine" of this book to be very irritating. She was outspoken but it seemed like she was only like that to shock the reader and the novelty wore off right quick.
I could see the author setting up another book between Carly's roommate Elizabeth and Will. Carly introduces them when drunk, calling Elizabeth who goes by Libby, Labia by mistake. Unfortunately what the author thought was cute, Will latching onto it and calling her that wasn't. I was on Libby's side calling a stranger Labia and hinting you want to do them is creepy, and Libby wasn't really being prissy to ask to be called by her name. Plus it was super skeezy how he keeps calling her that. And Carly when sober is just like 'Oooh he likes you' not 'you fucker leave my friend alone'.

Ok maybe a 4* would have been more appropriate but here is my explanation.
I read the 4 preceding books. This book runs parallel and the scenes repeat. I'm not a fan of these kinds of books.
Temptation is one of my all time favorites. Carly was quite funny the first time around and in small doses. In this book she was a bit over the top.
All in all, a decent read with the best pick up lines of all time!

Loved this. But I knew I would as loved the rest of series. I sat in public looking like a looney smiling huge and laughing at the content this book contained. It's hot and I'm never going to look at certain items the same way again.

So before I start, let me just get this out of the way ;)
Okay I think we are all good now :P lol. So this is KM's 4th book in the Temptation series but it can be read as a stand alone. Firstly, I absolutely loved it! It was fan-fricking-tastic! Let's introduce the main characters. Carly Henkley. She is an absolute riot! A say-it-like-it-is lady (but don't tell her I called her a lady! lol). She is not a fan of children and yet she works as a school receptionist :P She has an awesome attitude of take me or leave me. Love how confident and happy she is with herself. And then we have Derek Ian King aka Dik ;) lol. Hot mama, he is delicious! And he is sometimes referred to as Caramello Koala (google that ;) it's yummy!) And did I mention that he is a firefighter? Yep, he is. He has a hose and everything ;) lol. Plus he sings and plays guitar *swoon*
So Carly is a no attachments kinda girl and has promised herself that she will not let anyone past her protective walls and definitely no children. Enter Derek. Instant Attraction ;) See what I did there? lol. Now these two have some hurdles to get over. I mean they just can't catch a break! :P
*Okay, okay, okay. I need to pee and then clean. I danced and jiggled with excitement at the thought of dousing my fiery hole with Derek's hose. Derek's hose. OMFG! I'm about to see Derek's hose.

You'll probably be :O Yep, that's my surprised face lol because that's exactly what KM did to me. She surprised me with her revelation. But despite her silence, Derek doesn't let go. He fights for their relationship and persists in breaking down her walls once again.
But the story isn't all just hot sex ;) lol. Derek is sweet and sensitive. I love this part.
*I nodded sadly and went to open the car door when he stopped me by pulling my hand to his chest, placing it across his heart.
"Remember, this is yours," he said as he flexes his fingers over my hand. "And this," he explained as he gently teased the skin under the swam of my bra through the opening of my shirt, "is mine."*

Sitting at our dining table and expelling my grumpiness by harshly flipping the pages of my Cleo magazine, I nearly Had a heart attack when 'SexyBack' suddenly sounded through the room. KM creates likeable and relatable characters that you just fall in love with. The friendships between Carly and her girlfriends is heart warming and endearing. I love their banter and the mischief they get up to. The story is witty, funny and beautiful. And the banter between the men, Will, Bryce, Matt and Derek! Those boys are absolutely classic! I especially enjoyed the interactions between Libby and Will lol! You have got to see it! I adore how Carly and Derek both find something that they didn't even realise they were looking for. Plus, I love how determined and persistent he is despite Carly's protests.
There is tension, drama, sex, lots of hot sex and love. Everything you could possibly want in a great book. Another fantastic read by KM! I can't wait to read more from her :)

I loved KM Golland's Temptation Series. Carly and Derek appeared in a few of the books in the series. Derek is Bryce's good friend. He's a Fire Chief and a good friend to Lucy, Bryce's sister. Carly is Alexis' best friend and has always been her rock. She's a receptionist at a elementary school. Although we saw them flirting and dating in the first series, we knew little about their relationship.
Carly is confidant, gorgeous and pretty care free. Her sense of style and humor seem to be her trademark. She enjoys sex, partying and shopping, and has a weird thing for mint sauce-like a real obsession with it. Although she envies her friend Alexis, and her loving relationship with her boyfriend Bryce, she knows that kind of relationship isn't in the cards for her. She was particularly close to her aunty who died in childbirth. Having kids is not in her future. Alexis' kids Charli and Nate fill any need for children in her life. A life that she has all mapped out.
My life was going to be free. Free from obstructions, free from drama and free from anchors that tied me to anyone or anything. Yep, I was an anchorless ship on her maiden voyage that never ended.
Carly meets Derek at a birthday party being given at Bryce's penthouse for Alexis' birthday. She is hit by the wall of lust that smacks her in her face.

This all bothers Carly. Whenever she thinks she and Derek are getting close, there are underlying feelings of uneasiness that she picks up on. She knows something doesn't feel right, but just can't put her finger on it.
Just when things seem to be going right for them. Boom! Time for her intuition to be proven right that something was going on that she wasn't aware of. And it's big, it's massive. And I couldn't come to terms with it. I'm not going to spoil what it is, but before Derek met Carly he did something in the service of a friend, and I still can't help but shake my head. I have no problem with the end result, but the means to get that end result-nope, no can do...
"I'm not giving up on us." He placed a chaste kiss on my lips, causing a surge of emotions to envelop me completely. "I love you and I know you love me. We "are" and we always will be."
When things go kaboom in their relationship, Carly is more than a little blindsided. She thinks Derek can give all the lip service about loving her that he wants, but if the man can't walk the walk, save the talk.
Can they overcome her feelings? What can Derek do to show Carly that he is serious about her, and that what he did was before he met her and for the right reasons? I loved the angst and the humor in this story. Golland never fails to deliver. Although, I am left with a sick feeling about Derek and his actions to help out his friend, Derek and Carly give Bryce and Alexis' love story a run for its money.

If you are looking for a light, sexy read that doesn't have a bunch of drama or a dark theme in it, then this book is for you! Carly is one of those girls that has had her heart broken in the past so to protect herself from further heartbreak, she has non-committal relationships with random men. Derek is that guy that everyone loves and wants. He's a firefighter, the lead singer of a band, and has a body to die for! Up until she meets Derek, Carly wants nothing more from a man than one night of bliss. But that was before she met Derek and before she met her match.
"The feeling that shot through my fingers, up my arm and throughout my body as our skin connected, was pretty much indescribable. But I will say this: it's a feeling that happens once in a lifetime, a result of finding 'the one', of connecting with someone beyond attraction. It's the feeling of finding your soul-mate."
There were several times that I found myself laughing out loud. Carly had a foul mouth and was hilarious. Some of the things that she said to herself were priceless. I loved reading her thoughts! Derek had some really cute pick up lines and quite a few adorable come backs. I love when humor is written into the storyline and this book definitely had its fair share of comedic moments. There were also some super steamy scenes and lots of sexual tension written on these pages. You will not be disappointed!
Even though Attraction is a spin off stand-alone from the Temptation Series, I would highly recommend you read that series first so that you can fully appreciate the cameo appearances from a few of the supporting characters. I would have loved to have read Alexis and Bryce's story! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that wants to read a sweet love story about a stubborn, hilarious, foul mouthed woman and a man that doesn't give up on what's his. OH...and does an amazing strip tease in his fire-fighter uniform!

Carly Henkley is Alexis Summers’ best friend. You can read all about Alexis and her adventures in the first four books in the Temptation series (Temptation, Satisfaction, Attainment, and Fulfillment). It’s not required that you read those before this, but you’ll love them. They are just fantastic.
Carly is one of those “I won’t ever be in a relationship because I will end up getting hurt” type of girls. So, she always keeps guys are arms length… or well, dick length. But when she meets Derek King, she realizes she has a deep attraction for him (hence the title).
Derek feels it too, and is determined to get Carly to realize that what is between them is more than attraction. That together, they just… “are”. Carly, of course, is fighting tooth and nail, not wanting to risk her heart breaking and never being able to be repaired.
Hesitantly, but knowingly, Carly pushes all that aside and agrees to just “be” with Derek. Of course there are ups and downs, but I can’t tell you what those are or what happens, just know that you will be reading this book from morning to night, not stopping for anything.
KM Golland is a fantastic writer, one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend her Temptation series and of course Attraction. She is hysterical as well. And philosophical too. Take a look.

It’s a two way street with KM. She combines all aspects of writing and presents it to you in one amazing book. The story is real, the characters are great, and the love is true. Give this five-star book a try.

LEEANN'S REVIEW - 5 Stars
Ok, so I love a good steamy romance novel, but I love it even more when the writers sense of humour shines through & the book makes me really, really laugh!! K M Golland has certainly met all of my expectations with Attraction!!
This is a story about two people, Carly & Derek, who are in their early to mid 30’s who single and quite happy to remain that way. They are both just looking for a bit of fun & nothing more. It takes them a while to actually sleep together but all the fun they have in between is laugh out loud hilarious!
When things do heat up, boy do they heat up!! They go through a few ups and downs together and find their rhythm. There are a few times that Carly panics at the thought of being in a relationship, but her best friends are able to make her see sense & Derek knows what is going on with her & never lets her get away with it.
Although for the most part this story is funny, there are some serious ‘hold your breath’ moments which had me seriously freaking out for Derek & Carly, but they soon get back on track. This is one of those stories where thing aren’t always as they seem. Carly learns very quickly to go with her gut instinct & if something seems ‘off’ then is probably is.
This book is chocablock full of fun, lust, love & drama. It is also full of surprises you don’t see coming & lots & lots of Aussie isms!! I can’t say too much without giving anything away, but I seriously started reading & couldn’t put it down till I finished it was that good!!
If you are looking for a book that has you laughing one minute, holding your breath the next & then looking for a fan to cool yourself off, then I highly recommend you grab yourself a copy of Attraction!! You won’t be disappointed!!

There is no doubt in my mind that KM Golland knows how to write. After reading my fifth book by her, there is now no doubt in my mind that KM Golland knows how to write amazing books!
Attraction is the fourth full length book in the Temptation series but can be read as a standalone as the book truly is all about Carly and Derek. Yes, Alexis and Bryce (*swoon*) make appearances but the sole focus is on our new hot couple in Melbourne.
By 20% in I was in love. And I told KM as much. Carly has such a unique way with words and I would quite happily just read a book full of her inner monologue and views on life.
Derek isn't half bad either!
Oh, who am I kidding! I would slide down his pole any time. And up. And down. And up. And you get the picture. A singing, tattooed, buff fireman with an Australian accent. SIGN ME UP!!
The story isn't something new but the way the story is told with these two characters is different. I loved that through all of her bravado and confidence, Carly was as girly and insecure as anyone and although Derek has an arrogant air about him (which, trust me, is oh so hot!) he has problems. We all do. And he doesn't deal with them in the best ways. Well, what man does? Oh, and there is one heck of a pre-Carly tale. But still, it all made for a fantastic read.
Whenever they reached a stalemate in their relationship I read faster to find out what happens next, each chapter held promise for them but yet another roadblock popped up. By 80% when the bomb hit *BOOM* I was desperate for them to find their HEA but I was doubtful it would happen. It was a shattering bomb. But, Carly and Mr DIK came through but the joy was reading about how that came about. There may even be a mention or two of mint sauce!
Their interactions, their chemistry, their pure sexual lust for one another sizzled page after page making it such an enjoyable read despite the hardships they faced. The epilogue and then the extended epilogue were just the two luscious cherries on the top of this caramel infused ice cream sundae.
Thank you, KM, I'm thrilled you listened to your readers and wrote Carly and Derek's story. Now. Please can we get Will and 'Labia's' story next? Pretty pleeeaaase!

KELLY GOLLAND DOES IT AGAIN!!!!
This is by far and away my favorite author! She does no wrong. I've been waiting for Carly's story since her and Alexis' (eye contact conversation) in Fulfilment. This is a stand alone but if you haven't read the other books in the Temptation series...WTF are you waiting for?
Love the friendship that is Alexis and Carly! If your smart you've read Bryce and Alexis' story and per Carly..."Who needs Days of our Lives when you've got Days of Alexis' Life?"
Carly is a strong ass, independent, no nonsense, no BS, tell it like it is girl. She meets sexy as hell firefighter Derek (aka DIK). The chemical reaction that is Carly and Derek is off the charts HOT!!! Dc all the way!
One thing I love about this author is the array of emotions she takes you through that is the road down one of her novels. You go from lust, to laughing out loud, to nervous, to crying, to relief in the span of 300 pages. I LOVED every minute!
Another thing I love about Ms Golland is her leading men and their unwavering love and devotion to their women. There is never a hesitation. For Derek he knows Carly is it. They just "are" and he will not stop until she's his.
I also LOVE the roll music plays in her books. There is always a pivotal moment in each story where the author places a song. You may know of the song but not truly know the lyrics. For Bryce and Alexis it was "The Only Exception" by Paramore. For Derek and Carly it was "Someday" by Nickelback. Each time I downloaded the song, googled the lyrics, and listened while crying my eyes out. It really makes you feel that moment.
I want to say more of the story but want readers to fall in love with it as it comes. It is so worth it.
Now...How about Will and Libby??? Everyone knows the drummer is the hottest one of them all. LOL

Oh boy! What can I say? I freakin loved thos book. I never knew how much I missed these characters until I started reading it. Carly was her usual fabulous self. She is a strong woman who doesnt take shit from anyone and is super funny and sexy and she knows it. And Derek....what can I say about Mr. Caramello Koala, DIK, man -of-my-dreams, other than he seriously HOT, so charming and funny and boy does he know what to do with his body - fingers/hands, tongue/mouth and his beautiful fire hose. And being a firefighter, he sure knows how to use it. Not only does he put out fires but he is also a musician, singing and playing guitar for a band (in which my #1 love Bryce also is in). He is everything delicious and heavensent wrapped into one man. K.M. Golland has certainly done it again with tis awesome story that will have you laughing so hard and swooning until your heart hurts. Carly and Derek were perfect for each other. They had this magnetic chemistry that was so hot and when they realized their true feelings for each other it was beautiful to see - because they way Mrs Golland writes has you able to picture it all which made this experience even better.
And don't even get me started on having Bryce and Alexis around again. I missed them so much!!! My heart flutters every time Bryce's name appeared on a page :)
For anyone who hasn't read any of this series, you are really missing out and need to get on that ASAP. I highly recommend anything that K.M. Golland creates.

Favorite Lines or Quotes:

NADBB has a thing for MC romances but romances of any sort grab us and tend to not let go! So we were looking forward to reading this book by KM Golland.
SYNOPSIS
This book were characters that were introduced in a previous book, but is fine read as a stand alone, since that is exactly what we did!. It centers on Carly and Derek and their rocky road to Happy Ever After town. They're in their 30's, happily single and not looking for love and their story was full of great moments any reader would enjoy.
REVIEW:
The Good: I love a good romance. I love a romance even more when it brings me laughter and moments that grab me. KM Golland is very good at delivering those. I love the relationship Carly and Alexis. Too often books ignore the supporting characters around the heroine.
The Bad: I pretty much got nothing bad to say. When A book makes me laugh? I'm good. When the lines are quick and inventive and fresh? I'm really good. If anything I wished I had read Alexis story because I loved her. Also, it took the lead couple a time to dot their i's and cross their t's (Read sleep together) I'm more of a dang it do it already kind of girl heh.

Carly was a woman who enjoys who carefree, no strings attached, no obligation life. She loves to flirt and have fun, never getting too close to anyone until Derek waltzes into her life. He is her best friend’s fiancée’s best friend, a hot fireman and even hotter lead singer of a band. Carly has trust issues and has a hard time committing, until Derek knocks every one of her walls to the ground, taking her for a ride of love and passion that she can’t resist.
K M Golland does a great job of bringing us into the world of the characters, making sure the back stories that were in the other Temptation Series books does not stop the reader from enjoying Attraction even if this is the first book of the series they have read. The reader is brought through every single emotion of the spectrum, from anger, fear, sadness, and love. It was an amazing read, one that I will keep on my kindle to read again. There were so many great things about the relationship between Carly and Derek, between Carly and her friend Lexi, just every character in the book was fabulously crafted so the reader actually cared about each one, not just the two main ones.
