THIS KIND OF BUSINESS CAN ONLY BE PERSONAL

Sage Reese lives for her job. More precisely, she lives for her debonair boss, Parker Andersen. Sage handles everything for Parker, even as she fantasizes about the one thing that isn't in her job description: him. But when a high-stakes account crosses the line from shady to deadly, a tough cop starts giving Sage the attention she wishes Parker would . . .

Detective Dean Ryker couldn't be more different from Parker. While Parker wears expensive suits like a second skin and drives a BMW, Ryker's uniform is leather jackets and jeans . . . and his ride of choice is a Harley. While Parker's sexiness is a reserved, slow burn, Ryker is completely upfront about what-and who-he's after. And Sage tops his list.

Now, as Ryker digs deeper into the dark side of Parker's business, Sage finds herself caught between two men: the one she's always wanted-and the one who makes her feel wanted like never before . . .

Two guys, one girl… But don’t worry. This book is pretty light on that front, there’s no too much angst and the love triangle was done wonderfully.

Add to this love story a lot of suspense, a mystery, the Russian mob, a lot of action, hot and steamy scenes, laugh-out-loud moments and you have a great and entertaining book with a good storyline and great writing.

The only two issues I had were:

1. the heroine’s naivety and indecisiveness. Overall she’s a fun, witty and lovable character, but sometimes she was borderline annoying. I didn’t know whether to love her or hate her.

2. This is a cliffhanger so you basically have to continue the series if you want to get all the answers.

I really enjoyed this read as it was fast paced, had mystery, intrigue and danger and of course, two hot hunky men!

My only niggly itch...I was a bit disappointed to see it was another threesome like her Kathleen Turner Series. Ms. Snow seems to have a formula for her stories: include a love triangle. I’m generally NOT a fan of love triangles but will always go in with an open mind and I must say that so far, Ms. Snow makes it work.
 photo Power Play_zpswetjvktn.jpg

This story involves Sage Reese, secretary executive administrative assistant to her boss, Parker Anderson, sexy and sophisticated Investment Banker

and hot gun-toting Detective, Dean Ryker.

The upside, the story was different. Sage ends up smack dab in the middle of money laundering and the Russian mob. Sure, you have to suspend reality for a few things as you could pick apart the details but it makes for a good story. And Sage was at times silly in her actions but she was brave and her heart was in the right place. How she finds herself between two hot men who now despise each other is also slightly different.

Needless to say, I was completely entertained, liking the characters, the story and like Sage, vacillating between both Ryker and Parker.

Although, by the end, I did make my choice and so did Sage. Or rather she was forced to make a choice although I'm not sure it was the right one. I don't think her heart is all in. Now I want to see how it unfolds!

Release day TOMORROW, 6-29-15!!!
I’m in love again. It seems with Tiffany Snow, I fall often, I fall hard, and she keeps dishing it out. Power Play is the first novel in a brand new series from the creator of the Kathleen Turner series and the Tangled Ivy series. The queen of the love triangle brings us another fantastic trio of characters…Sage, Parker, and Ryker.

Sage…poor little rich girl…only she’s actually quite awesome. She grew up with privilege, but she’s never let it go to her head. She’s paving her own way in the world and even though things aren’t going exactly as planned, she’s not running back to daddy with her tail tucked. No, she’s working hard as the “executive administrative assistant” for Parker Anderson, the suave, sexy, bossy boss that she’s been secretly lusting after for months.

Parker is the quintessential alpha male in a suit and tie. He’s smooth, he’s sexy, he’s a bit of a playboy, but too classy to be a man-whore. In fact, he’s pretty much perfect fantasy material for Sage except for one little problem…he’s not shown an ounce of interest in his sexy secretary (ahem…executive administrative assistant. That is, until an old friend begins to show too much interest in her. Nothing like a little competition to bring out the cave man in the boss man.

Ryker is Parker’s opposite…he’s a rough and ready, jeans and motorcycle guy with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He’s also a detective, and he’s also making it clear that Ivy is in his sights just as much as the bad guy is.

In addition to the organized criminal angle that gives us our suspense and intensity, we have two heroes with a past. Ryker and Parker have both wanted the same girl before, and Sage soon realizes how confusing it is to be smack dab in between two men who are this powerful and this invested. While Ryker has no problem showing her his life, his lust, and his intentions, Parker continues with the mysterious, confusing, and sexy vibe. There’s something there with both these boys, and the fact that they are so different is enticing and confusing. From my perspective...Sage is in the most delicious alpha sandwich!

Mmmm. Not sure how to rate this one.

I just could not get the heroine ... she was thinking of one guy one minute, the other guy the next minute ... make up your mind, woman. Granted both were HOT ...

PARKER

RYKER

Some of the decisions, situations she got into were a bit silly ... a tad immature, I thought.

I will keep going. I know who I want her to end up with ... well, after Book 1, I do. That might change in the next book.

FAH-REAK-ING AWESOME!

The queen of the love triangle has done it again! I am a sucker for a good push/pull romance and with Power Play we get it from all sides!

The lust and longing of an unrequited office romance. Parker Andersen is a no nonsense business powerhouse. He demands perfection and that things be done his way. His assistant Sage Reese is completely at his beck and call. Sage admires her demanding boss and can work for him like few before her has. She is an asset to him in the office and goes above and beyond to keep it that way.

In walks the rough and tumble detective Dean Ryker. His presence raises Sages suspicions, as well as her libido. Dean is fun, sexy and doesn’t hesitate to let Sage know she is on his radar in the most sensual ways.

A business associate turns up dead and things begin to go haywire in the structured office environment Sage has been working in. Has the buttoned up Parker Anderson been hiding behind the facade or is the enigmatic detective Ryker just using Sage to further his investigation?

Power Play is great action, sultry sexy innuendo, and banter with adrenaline pumping and heart racing suspense. Utter perfection for the love triangle fan!

This is a story about two men with a long past with each other and the woman who comes between them. One wears expensive suits and has a powerful, authoritative presence and the other is a charming bad-boy with striking blue eyes and a wicked grin. The woman is beautiful with a likable personality; being inside her head is pretty entertaining often amusing. She also has a tendency to do really stupid things at dumb times to land herself in dangerous situations.

Does ANY of this sound familiar?

If you've read the Kathleen Turner series, then YES, THIS SOUNDS FRICKEN FAMILIAR cuz it's pretty much the same damn setup. Zero points for originality. Parker is a duller version of Blane and Ryker is Kade except nowhere near as charming and no added depth under that so called bad boy exterior.

One big difference I found for myself though was that, in the Kathleen Turner series it wasn't until book 4 that I called bullshit on the "well-done love triangle" bit.....whereas with this series I'm ready to cry foul RIGHT NOW with book 1. Sage is cool with making out with whichever guy she happens to be with at any given time, and that to me is already a shitty handling of a love triangle.

But you know what? Tiffany Snow gots skillz, because I found myself turning the pages quite easily, no matter how many times I rolled my eyes at the cheesiness (it's pretty cheesy) or how irritated I got over the characters' actions (they do a lot of irritating things). The readableness (is that a word?) and entertainment factor almost made me round up to 3 stars, but then I realized that it didn't really matter either way to me if I read the next book or not, and so this "I don't care about the sequel" feeling led me to round down instead. 2.5 stars

Love triangles are always a risky genre for me. More often than not, it seems like I end up with my heart broken when the girl doesn't pick "my" guy and he doesn't get the HEA that I wanted. However, Tiffany Snow is one of the very few authors whose love triangles I will take a chance on without reading reviews first or asking my trusted book friends if they would recommend it.

Power Play hooked me from the first page and I found it hard to put this book down. The characters, the chemistry between Sage and Parker/Ryker, and the suspenseful plotline all made for a great read.

I really loved Sage's character and I think that she may be my favorite heroine to date from Tiffany Snow's books. She's independent, intelligent, and doesn't let her background define who she is. She is determined to blaze her own trail and find success on her own. Parker is the untouchable, sexy, businessman that is completely irresistible. He's got an air of mystery surrounding him and I really want to know more about him and his background. Ryker will definitely appeal to readers who like their cocky, arrogant, badboys =) The complete opposite of Parker, Ryker is more open and honest. Basically, what you see is what you get. He isn't afraid to pursue what he wants and is up front about it. I really liked that aspect of his character.

Power Play had everything that I have come to love about Ms. Snow's books. I will be anxiously awaiting Playing Dirty (book #2) as I really want to see where Sage, Ryker, and Parker's story will end up =)

1.) I stopped reading around 33% into the book. So I don't know how the book ended, but I've read the blurb for the next book so I know who she ended up with.

2.) I for some reason just can't find this kind of books any good. And, what I mean when I say this kind of books are those that spend way too much time describing how sexy every character are all the time. Ever time the main character sees any of the two male "sexy as hell" character she just swoons how sexy they are and how she just want to hump them. Well, not at the same time, well I never finished the book so perhaps she did fantasize about a three-way with them. Anyway, somewhere in this sexiness is there a story lost and I would have preferred  it to take the center, not the lady in heat (I can't remember her name right now)...

3.) In the last chapter that I read before I gave up, was the main character who-I-cant-remember-the-name-of to fly with her boss to New York. Of course, she is not in first class but are instead sitting with a child that ends up spilling his coca cola on her skirt. She later realizes that it became see through and that her boss had seen her bending over without any panties since they were soaked. She is horrified and I'm a bored. But that is not what made me give up the book. No, there are som some trouble with the booking of hotel rooms and she is without one and there are no close by hotels with any hotel room available so her boss Parker (see I remember a name) of course, tells her that she will stay in his hotel room since he have two rooms and they are adults. (muahahaha) I closed the book and decided that enough is enough, I don't get any younger (my birthday is tomorrow) and that I have good books that just waits for me to read them.

From the moment that I read the blurb for this book, I was excited. It sounded just like the kind of story that I would like and reminded me so much of one of my favorite will-they or won't they couples on television, Suits’ Harvey and Donna. The ambitious, smart, handsome, charming boss with the indispensible secretary (Sorry, Sage, I should say Administrative Assistant). The woman that knows him better than himself. The woman that he couldn't be without. So, knowing all of that, I was absolutely jumping up and down and ready to read this.

But, I had a moment of pause, when I saw that this was going to be a love triangle. I still haven't recovered from Tiffany Snow's last love triangle, The Kathleen Turner Series.
I vowed I would go into this, though, with an open mind and I would not pick a side right off the bat. I was not going to subject myself to that sort of heartbreak again. There are those who will say, it's just a book. Get over it. But, you cannot just get over it with a Tiffany Snow book. She has a way of writing characters that you genuinely care about. Characters that you identify with or characters that you just want to be with. Not too many readers have that gift, but Tiffany does.

So, because of Tiffany, Blane Kirk has and always will be the book boyfriend I judge all others by. I honestly did not think anyone could come close to him.

Well, let me introduce you to Parker Anderson.

He is Harvey Specter-esque with some Blane-like qualities. So, my promise to not get too emotionally invested or pick a side this time? Well, yeah, that's out the window.

I am firmly in Team Parker. We see him through his Girl Friday, Sage Reese's eyes. She doesn't want to be the stereotypical, clichéd secretary crushing on the boss. She fights her feelings
and tries to dismiss them knowing that something between them could never work. Yet, he calls and she comes running. This is done to humorous effect in the first chapter when Sage's night out
with her current boyfriend is interrupted by Parker. So Mr. Wrong breaks up with Sage telling her that she’s already in a relationship with her boss even though she doesn’t seem to know it.

And the other third of this triangle? Hot cop Dean Ryker. He comes off as the typical bad boy. Sage is immediately attracted to him even though she senses the hostility between him and Parker. Is Ryker flirting with her just to get under Parker’s skin? Is he using her to work an angle on his latest case?
Throw in the obvious bad blood between the former friends that stems from fighting over the same girl. Will this cycle repeat itself? You know it will! But, the ride will hopefully be as fun and romantic as Tiffany Snow books always are. There's some fun banter between Ryker and Parker as they trade one-liners and there's quite a funny scene where Sage breaks up one of these fights as the two mean play a comical game of “I know you are, but what am I?”

This book had it all---fun, romance, intrigue, suspense and humor. Sage makes a choice in this book, but I feel that just might be temporary. Don't count the other guy out just yet.
I have a feeling that this series will join the Kathleen Turner series as one of my all-time favorites.

*I gave this audiobook a B- for the narration and C- for the story at AudioGals*

If you listened to or read the Kathleen Turner series by Tiffany Snow, you will not be surprised by the subject matter of her new series, Risky Business. Having fallen in love with her prior series, I thought I would give Power Play a shot. Well, I am somewhat saddened to say that while I’m sure you will enjoy Power Play if you missed her prior series, for those of you who didn’t, the romantic lovers’ triangle arc and constant element of danger and suspense will seem remarkably similar to the prior series.

The main difference is the rival heroes for the heroine’s attention in the Kathleen Turner series are a lawyer (who employs the heroine) and an assassin for hire who is his brother, while in Power Play you have ex-best friends, one of whom is an investment banker (who employs the heroine) and the other a police officer. In both cases, you have a clear favorite for the heroine’s attention to begin with, with the underdog constantly striving to steal away the heroine’s attention. But like in the Kathleen Turner series, listeners should also be forewarned that while there is a soft ending at the end of the first book, the battle to win a HEA is by no means over and will continue in the next books in the series. In order to get the full romantic arc, you will need to commit to listening to the entire series. Remarkably, however, the blurb for this first book neglects to warn listeners that this is a sequential series that must be read in its entirety prior to learning the romantic resolution.

"He was thirty-five, incredibly handsome, successful, wealthy– and as unobtainable as the moon. But that didn't mean I couldn't enjoy the view."

Maybe I'm in the minority but I LOVE a good love triangle. There is just something so exciting about a love story with two heroes. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's mine. What can I say? I love options! And Sage Reese has two very yummy options to choose between. First is Parker; her boss. He is a demanding workaholic who is a little cold and cordial. Lusting after Parker is one of Sage's daily duties. Sure, she has no desire to fall into the boss/secretary cliche but the option really isn't available to her anyway. That is until Sage finds herself caught up in the shady business dealings of her boss and Detective Dean Ryker, Parker's former friend and current foe, is investigating them.

"He was dangerous, unpredictable, and full of sharp edges. He made me no promises and asked for none from me. And God help me, I wanted to dip my toe into the fire the burned between us...even if I got burned."

Ryker is very different from the man Sage currently pines over. He is the kind of man that sees what he wants and makes no qualms about what he will do or say to get it. That leads to some very naughty propositioning and very forward advances. While Parker is refined and reserved, Ryker is rough around the edges and uses all his charms to his advantage. But as opposite as these two men are they still share a few attributes. The biggest one that is important to this story and to love triangles in general is the chemistry. Each man offers something different to Sage but the chemistry and raw attraction is something that is combustible with each of them. With Ryker, every moment is so raw and sexual. He is the bad boy and every naughty word out of his mouth was yummy. With Parker, there is a longing between every interaction. You can feel how easily it would be for the roles between him and Sage to evolve from professional to pleasurable. Between both these yummy men it was hard to not find myself in a constant state of hot flashes and butterflies.

"This isn't something you can straddle the fence on, sweetheart. It's either him, or me."

But my favorite aspect of this story, besides the delicious sexual tension and the underlying backstory between Ryker and Parker, is the suspense. HOLY MOLY! I love to be kept on my toes and Power Play did just that. The villain was so swarmy and horrible. The action was continuous and left everything in an elevated state of OMG! Power Play has all the elements of adventure, romance, and suspense. It has topped the list of must-reads and I am dying to see what is next for this troubled trio!

Sage Reeves lived a quiet life, she was working for Parker Andersen as his Administrative Assistant (who she is secretly in love with) she works long hours and is basically at his beck and call. Sage was known to date but her last boyfriend thought she was tied to her job and not great in bed so that didn’t work out.

Then all of the sudden in literally a matter of days she is mixed up in a Russian mob scandal about sex trafficking and kidnapping. She was beaten, kidnapped and harassed all in a matter of days. Oh and her boss Parker is being investigated for his Russian ties by his former best friend Dean Ryker; who by the way wants to protect Sage at all costs.

I generally am not a big fan of triangles – this one is interesting though. Parker and Sage have undeniable chemistry but Parker has made it clear he doesn’t want Sage (as the reader we can see between the lines) while Ryker initially wanted to protect Sage develops real feelings for her – while Sage is caught in the middle. Keeping in mind that this is a trilogy who knows what will happen in the next set of books, but knowing Tiffany Snow what happened at the end of book 1 is not necessarily what’s going to happen in books 2 and 3.

I have read the Ivy series by this author and the one thing I can say that seems consistent is that her books move very quickly. The Power Play is action packed with a lot of developments that happen in a very short amount of time. Sometimes so quickly that as the reader I had to go back and reread passages just to keep the timeline straight. I am good with that mainly because her writing is so good, any other author I may not be. The other thing I would caution readers is that Tiffany doesn’t shy away from graphic descriptions both in regards to her love scenes and violence. I appreciate the fact that she has the same writing approach with both. I enjoyed this edge of your seat thriller/romance and am really looking forward to the next book.

Once again, I have finished a novel written by Tiffany Snow and I find myself awestruck. Power Play, the first installment of the Risky Business Series was everything I expected from the talented Ms. Snow plus so much more. If I had to sum up book one of this series, it would be The Kathleen Turner Series on steroids. It's bigger and better than before with more drama, more romance, and more suspense – just more of everything that I came to love in the other series.

Instead of two brothers, we have two former best friends. I say former because they both use to be in love with the same woman – a woman who took her own life because she could not stand to come between the two friends. But what she didn't know is her death tore these two men apart more than ever. These two men are Ryker, a police detective, and Parker, an investment banker. Both men are swoon worthy, but I must admit that Ryker has stolen my heart. This man is the bad boy type that I find myself drawn to who is sex personified and such a smooth talker. Yep, my heart is with Ryker. I’m not sure how I feel about Parker yet. Yes, he is one sexy man, but I just don’t know how I feel about him yet – so I guess you can say that the jury is still out as far as Parker is concerned.

Then we have Sage Reese, Administrative Assistant to Parker. She has been so in love with Parker since day one of her employment and is obsessively dedicated to this man. She does everything possible to make Parker’s work life flow smoothly. It’s not until Parker comes under scrutiny due to a big investment deal involving some shady Russian characters that Ryker is on Sage’s radar, and suddenly her love for Parker is not so clear cut.

After all the drama and intensity that was never ending, book one ends and it appears that Sage’s decision on which man she is going to choose is pretty clear cut, but then in the final pages we learn that maybe, just maybe, one of the two men wants much, much more than we previously thought. So yes, we have a love triangle which may turn some readers off, but I must say I loved trying to guess who will end up with whom.

I absolutely loved this book! I finished this one in about a day because I just couldn't put it down. It kept me guessing throughout and I was biting my nails because of all the high stakes drama that took place. This well-crafted novel had a lot of suspense with just the right amount of romance. There are plenty of twists and turns that kept me engaged throughout. Tiffany Snow hit it out of the park with this one and I can’t wait for Playing Dirty to be released.

If you loved The Kathleen Turner Series or just love a good romantic suspenseful story with lots of high stakes drama and hot, steamy romance then you’re going to love this new series.

No, no! Not again!

I get it, romance is not the most innovative genre. Much of its spell comes from playing well-known motifs time after time. It is also not unusual that authors tend to write stories similar to each other. But this is an exaggeration! This book is so similar to No Turning Back it’s ridiculous!

Well, let's see:
First person narration – Check
Bridget Jones-like heroine who is so silly that it suppose to be funny – Check
Heroine falling for her boss… - Check
…boss who is some super alpha man and a very successful businessman – Check
Heroine also falling for another guy – Check (yes, a love triangle again!)
This second guy being a dangerous, mysterious man and also alpha – Check
Those two guys knowing each other and strongly disliking - Check
...but before they were like brothers for each other - Check
Some suspense part that the heroine becomes involved in against a better judgment – Check
This is everything you can find in both books!

Huh, I strongly disliked Kathleen Turner series but I decided to give this author another chance. But this… this feels like rereading No Turning Back.

And you know what? I actually pushed myself to read the whole book (okay, I was skipping big chunks, but it still counts) and this book is as irritating as Kathleen Turner series. I really don't think I will be reading next book in this series unless I really need it for some challenge (I seriously hope I won't).

This author's love triangle series should come with a “flashing light” warning because there is a chance you'll be left heartbroken like I was after The Kathleen Turner Series.

But that was then and this is now! Like forbidden fruit, the temptation to read another action packed, sexy page turner by Tiffany Snow is just too great a pull for my will-power. Is this like the Kathleen Turner Series...no! The foundations laid in Power Play provide the potential for the Risky Business Trilogy to be an even greater love story.

Sage Reece loves her job which is just as well as she's pretty much on-call 24/7 for her demanding boss Parker Anderson. Not that she sees it as a hardship working for the drop-dead gorgeous man with clear blue eyes. He has her heart, although he gives the impression he's immune to her beautiful looks.

Many say he's arrogant, but Parker Anderson sees himself as confident. He's the highly sought and respected Director of Investment Analytics at KLP Capital. He's cool and business-like in his work place especially when around his stunning executive administrative assistant. Their relationship is strictly professional. However, after an old arch nemesis visits his office and notices Sage, maybe the cliché boss and secretary scenario should be considered after all?

When his arch nemesis turns up as a suspect in a case he's investigating, Dean Ryker wastes no time seeking out Parker Anderson for answers. What he didn't expect is to find a “bombshell” of a secretary working for his suspect. Never one to miss an opportunity, Ryker asks Sage on a date and whisks her away right from under Parker's nose. But is this tentative date for pleasure or another means to collect information and evidence for his case?

Power Play is a fast paced suspenseful romance. As with all of Tiffany's books this is a well written novel laced with witty and humorous dialogue. In this tight knit love triangle, the sparks of attraction are flying everywhere as both guys vie for Sage's attention. Like Sage, I can see both positive and negative personality traits in both Parker and Ryker. I do however prefer one guy over the other, but only slightly.

Power Play didn't have the same immediate impact as No Turning Back...or so I thought. This was definitely a slow burn beginning for me. In the couple of days since I finished reading this first installment of the Risky Business trilogy, I've already found myself thinking more about the protagonists than I thought I would... a feeling of deja vu? So, the seeds of a new love triangle obsession have been sown! I can't wait to find out what happens next to Sage, Parker and Ryker in the remaining books in the series; Playing Dirty and Play To Win. I just hope my pieced together fractured heart wont be broken into millions of shards again!

Sage is Parker's secretary - excuse me, I mean executive administrative assistant. She's had a crush on her boss for years but knows he doesn't even notice her. So when the hot detective, who seems to loath her boss, comes and asks her out, why would she say no? What Sage doesn't realize is that she is now in the middle of two feuding ex-best friends, a murder investigation, and the Russian mob.

This book was only okay for me. I decided to give it a try after hearing about the Harley riding, leather wearing, tough detective but I was a little disappointed in it. The story quickly took a turn from employee hot for boss, to murder and mayhem. There were a lot of secrets the I kept trying to figure out and desperately wanted to know but they just didn't keep me interested.

Sage wanted her boss something fierce, and then she wanted Ryker, but then was still attracted to Parker. I got whiplash from her constant back and forth and it wasn't her trying to figure out who she wanted, it was her just being with whoever was going after her at that time. Her character bugged me because she would just go along with whatever guy happened to be there and never actually making a decision.

The story was suspenseful and intriguing enough that it had me devouring the story to get to the end so I could find out all the secrets. There was a lot of unknowns that I was desperate to find out, but I was getting a little bored with it. It was more mystery and thrill than romance but I'm hoping to see more romance in the next part. Damn these cliffhangers!

Gahhhhh How does this author get me EVERY SINGLE TIME! I LOVED IT!
Let’s talk real for a second shall we? We all have our favorite authors, our “go to authors” if you will. The ones we don’t even give a second thought to one-clicking when they release a new one. When I begin a Tiffany Snow book I KNOW I am going to get a well written, well edited, fast paced, Romance/Suspense book. I also know that NOBODY does love triangles like this author. She writes these great characters that get imbedded under your skin, and you just can’t help but feel for them as you go through their journey. I loved that weather this main character Sage, was right, wrong, or indifferent she owned what she was feeling, saying or doing. Made no excuses and she knew she really didn’t owe anybody anything, she went with it and did what she felt at the moment. I thought there was great character development because I FELT everything she felt and my heart squeezed for her when she felt rejected or hurt. I am so excited for the next book Playing Dirty (Risky Business #2) (which incidentally is NOT far off, expected release date of September 29th) Now, let’s talk about the extra little goodies. At the end of book 1 we get the prologue to book 2 and if I wasn’t already in love with Parker that definitely would have sealed the deal for me <3 There is one more thing but since I don’t like to give ANYTHING away I’m just going to say die hard Tiffany Snow fans will spot it and love it (wink, wink)I am thrilled when I can honestly tell my book besties to add this one to your TBR’s ladies!!! If you have been threatened by me in the past (LOL) and have succumbed and then loved the other series by this author than I can EASILY say you will love this one too!

Power Play by Tiffany Snow
Risky Business Trilogy Book 1
5 Stars

Parker Anderson is the Director of Investment Analytics at KLP Capital and exudes power and confidence. Sage Reese is the Executive Administrative Assistant to Parker. Sage goes above and beyond the call of duty for Parker, their relationship is strictly professional. Though Sage harbors a one sided crush for Parker, she doesn't want to feed the boss/secretary cliché.

When Parker takes on a new account, Sage is inadvertently thrown into the crosshairs of the Russian Mob. Enter badass Detective Dean Ryker. Ryker doesn't mince words with Sage; he thinks Parker is part of the problem and not the solution. Sage isn't convinced, as Parker and Ryker clearly have a history and not necessarily a good one.

As events unfold, Sage is torn between the two men. Parker - her boss with whom no romantic relationship could be possible and Ryker - the badass cop that has the potential to turn their mutual attraction into more.

Yes, Yes, Yes!! Tiffany Snow has done it AGAIN! Power Play is fast paced, witty, steamy, and kept me turning page after page long past bed time. I didn't want the story to end. The tension between the three characters was off the charts. Throw in the danger and mystery involved with the Russian Mob and that turned the angst up another notch. I can't wait to continue reading about Sage, Parker and Ryker in Playing Dirty.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, a series I can obsess about as much I did the Kathleen Turner series! Is it Kathleen Turner 2.0? Not at all, but it is the wonderful mess of a love triangle style Tiffany Snow became known for. I am beyond thrilled about it!

This story is told by Sage. She is an only child of wealthy parents trying to make her own way in the world of high finance. Parker is her boss. He is punctual, routine, exacting, self focused, dominating of Sage's time, and oh yeah, tall dark and sexy handsome. Sage has been infatuated with him for a while but loves her job and believes Parker to be of high moral standards and uninterested in her. Things are running along quite smoothly until another tall dark and handsome man shows up unexpectedly at Parker's office. His name is Ryker. He is a bit more untamed and rough around the edges. He is also a cop who has business with Parker despite the apparent bad blood between them. This secret business and her association with Parker quite quickly end up placing Sage in danger.

Both men have their own ideas about how to protect Sage, and each one blames the other for placing her in danger in the first place. As for Sage, she is no shrinking violet to be ordered around. She is the type to do whatever is right despite the costs. As each man tries to turn her against the other, Sage pinballs between the two seeking any safety she can find. Unfortunately, no one is safe from the enemy who has Sage in his crosshairs. She knows she has to make a choice between Ryker and Parker, but her devotion and love lie with the man who tells her they have no future. Will she stay with him or opt for the man who wants her and makes her feel important. Both men make her heart race and her hormones take notice, but only one seems like a sure thing in the long term. No matter what, she will have to hurt one in order to have the other.

I completely loved this story. The characters were so well developed and intriguing with particular little idiosyncrasies. The suspense and action were generously spread throughout the story, and the chemistry was off the charts with tension and desire. I was sucked in immediately and couldn't put it down. The preview for book two at the end was superb as well and had me so excited. I just know I am going to love this series!!!

An ARC was provided through Net Galley for honest review. However, the opinions in this review are all mine. I hope you love this story as much as I did.

Warning!!!!!! This book contains an epic amount of love triangle. Let's just get that out of the way.

Power Play is the first installment in Tiffany Snow's adult romantic suspense series titled Risky Business. I liked this book a lot actually...despite the dreaded triangle. I actually didn't mind it too much and that's pretty rare for me. I did however very much mind the seemingly manipulation of our sweet heroine: Sage by the two heroes in this book. It got pretty annoying after a while but the back and forth romance itself wasn't horrible in my opinion. Personally, I would drop them both and go find someone new but we're talking about fiction, so...

My favorite part about this book was the thriller/suspense element going on. There are some pretty dark characters who enter this story and all the stress created a fast-paced feel later on in the book. This is a series I'm looking forward to continuing as long as the suspense factor doesn't end up getting outweighed by the triangle drama. I guess we'll find out!

Note: I listened to the audio version of this book. It's pretty well done but a woman is altering her voice for the male parts. It just didn't sound right and I think having an additional narrator (deep-voiced male) would have done wonders for this experience. Just my opinion.

My favorite quote:
"I wasn't one of those women who pretended not to be impressed by a man's physique. I loved a well-built man. Ryker said he was cliche? Well, so was I. I was definitely impressed by a strong man. Sue me."

~3.5~

Okay, I liked it and I'm continuing with the rest of the books, but I found a lot of things were too similar to the KT series so I kept comparing the characters and my feelings towards the first book of KT to this one, so yes, I liked this one, and it was very entertaining but didn't love it and the characters as much as how when I first read book 1 in KT that I was debating my rating between 3 and 4 stars.

I still liked the chracters, there was suspense that kept me intrigued, some funny parts, there were some parts that were predictable and cliched, but still found it very entertaining that I wanted to keep reading, ahhh and of course there's a love triangle. Overall, It was very typical TS style.

If I had to choose a team right now it'd be Team Parker of course.

I received an ARC of Power Play from Grand Central Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
Power Play is classic Tiffany Snow, the writer I loved which gave me suspense and romance in my book. I was a little scared to read another of Tiffany's love triangles, but I am so glad I did. Sage is a likable heroine who has a thing for her hot boss and then finds herself attracted to his former best friend.

Hmm. I feel like Sage's going to end up with Parker anyway... because the last book's cover shows a woman with a man wearing a suit. LOL!

I received an ARC of this book about a week ago and finally had time to read it and did it all in one seating. It is fast paced as most of Tiffany Snow's books are and it is impossible to put down. Love all the major characters and boy, can she really create devious and evil villains! From some of the earlier reviews, I see choices of their favorite heroes have been made. Unlike those reviewers, I like both male characters although I am not very sympathetic towards Sage because she has the enviable task of choosing between a rich, debonair Parker and a rugged and good looking Ryker. Life is just so tough for Sage! I like that Tiffany Snow has always been able to inject reality into her characters and personalities. I do find most women I know would rather hang on to "2nd choice" rather than 'go all in' and walk away with nothing for 'the love of their life', hence love triangles are so popular. As Power Play is due for release on June 30 at all major retail outlets, I will not post any more spoilers. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to the 2nd book. And Tiffany, thanks for the little scene at a bar in New York. Always great to be visited by my favorite characters 'wink wink'.

Another amazing book by Tiffany Snow! I have yet to decide if I like Riker or Parker better because they are both great characters. Sage is an extremely well written and likeable character also. Can't wait for book two!

I have never heard of Tiffany Snow, but this book sounded too good to pass up. Recently, I've been loving stories of women working for very domineering bosses, only to fall for them, so I couldn't wait to see how Sage's professional relationship with her boss crossed over into not-so-professional. Oh, and throw in a hot cop who starts showing interest in her too and I knew I had to read this story.

Sage Reese's life is her job and every relationship she's had has failed because of her commitment to her work. Well, her commitment to her boss Parker Anderson. When he calls, Sage comes running to his side. Spending so much time working for Parker, Sage can't help but fantasize about the demanding, yet oh so attractive man. But the moment detective Dean Ryker walks into Parker's office, Sage's safe life is thrown upside down. Now, Sage realizes Parker's business may not be so legal or safe and the sexy cop makes it no secret he's interested in Sage. As Ryker investigates Parker's business, Sage finds herself caught between two very different, yet completely irresistible men.

Holy moly. I did NOT expect to love this book so much. Seriously, it had everything I love in my romances. There were brooding, demanding, hot men, some serious danger and suspense, and a sassy heroine. Sage is so relatable and I absolutely loved how she could hold her own with the demanding Parker and the playfully seductive Ryker. And boy did she have her hands full! First, she was stuck between ex-best friends (Ryker and Parker) who both started showing interest in her. Then, throw in some Russian gangsters who are threatening her life and she has A LOT to deal with.

I know some people don't like love triangles, but this one was an absolute killer and I was OBSESSED. I loved both Ryker and Parker for individual reasons and I felt so bad for Sage for having to choose between them. There was already bad blood between them because they used to be best friends but broke apart because of a girl. Now, history is repeating itself and they're fighting over a woman again. There are moments where Sage utterly hates both of them and moments where she wants to throw herself into their arms and absolutely devour them. I loved how maddening both men were but also how much they truly cared about Sage. Parker and Ryker did so much to protect Sage from the dangers they were facing even when she wasn't sure who she could really trust. They were there for her and definitely weren't shy about lending a shoulder for her to lean on…

Gah, this book. I died with that ending and seriously want the second book! What's going to happen to Sage? What's going to happen to Parker's business? She did choose a man in the end, but I'm not so sure how sound that decision was…and since I loved both men it made me both happy and angry at the same time. Ugh! Stinkin' love triangles that just pull at my heart! If you love a book that has a relatable main character, some dangerous suspense, and irresistibly hot men, you have to pick up Power Play!

I think my faith in Mrs. Snow has been restored with POWER PLAY!
I have read all of her books. And like many of you, fell in love with her writing and her characters in KTS ( Kathleen Turner Series).
Tiffany Snow has an amazing ability to write characters (ehh at least most of whom) that you'd want to actually know and be friends with in real life.
With POWER PLAY Tiffany Snow brings back the ♡triangle♡ that she is so clearly the Queen of; with Sage, Parker and Ryker.
Even though I have made an indelible decision to stay emotionally distant from both male leads of POWER PLAY. I am naturally a sucker for a man in a tailored suit. Tiffany Snow left me so emotionally destroyed after her last love triangle!!!

Sage so far, is a likable character. She is loyal to her indomitable boss Parker Anderson. Who is the object of her silent affection. However she refuses to become the office cliché. So she does not act on her attraction to Parker. In walks Dean Ryker rough edges, and all around ladies man. Sage is attracted to both men. But with contrasting reasons. She does seem to have Kats ability to find trouble under a rock. Which will no doubtfully make for a melting pot of action later in the series.

Reviews say it is a bit repetitive.
Love triangle with a touch of suspense.

There is a cliffhanger... so you need to read Book 2 for resolution.
