I simply love all about the Rand books and universe. This story was also fast paced and very interesting from the first page till the end. I would love to read more about the realm in the future and the people in it.
WLW and strong female characters in an amazing fantasy serie. Thank you Silvia for this wonderful reading experience.

There is no point in reading this review if you haven't read at least the The Shadow Maker series of the books.

It is a Silvia Shaw signature to have fast paced, action packed scenes and The Serpent Ring highlights this. The first few pages were slow (for the story) but once all the players were in place, everything flowed. Yes, this series plus the Queens' world has the reader chockers when it comes to keeping tabs of the characters but it was all worth it in the end when everyone came together to play their part.

The world Silvia Shaw created and the characters in it continuously amazes me. The author's ability to cram all these big personalities and magical abilities is simply astounding. I appreciate that in this book there were not a lot of new additions to the bursting list of characters or creatures. However, the new ones the author did manage to introduce were necessary and added a layer to the plot, not just for flair.

I cannot even begin to say how much this series was such a treat to read for a sapphic, women centred fantasy book. Did I mention WOMEN CENTRED? I don't know if there is anything else from this world the author could squeeze out of but if there is, I am there. Count on it.

one of the best fantasy series

I hope this series isn’t completely done as it is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve read the first 5 books at least 5 times each, and I finished this one in less than 12 hours. If that didn’t make it completely obvious, I LOVE this series. Some of it is hard to follow at times as it’s set in a different world with creatures that don’t follow what we know. I was thrilled when the author included nearly all the important characters from the previous books. Though, I wish there was more focus on Bree and Yaslin as this trilogy began with them however I understand why it had to follow Tempi when it didn’t lead with Savannah.

Anyways, I guess my point is that this is a great series. It definitely took my mind off of my physical pain for as long as I read. The author created an incredible world, with some fantastic characters. I was partial to Savannah (of course!), Queen Cassine and Bree.

This (the whole series, 6 books - two trilogies) should definitely be on anyone’s reading list. It will stay on my kindle forever.

Out of all of the books in the series thus far, this one is the fastest paced one of the lot. There is a lot that happens in it, and I really do mean a lot. Of course, given that this is an epic fantasy, with the fate of Rand hanging in the balance, that is to be expected. And wrt the cliff at the end of the previous book, this one delves straight into and resolves it at the beginning.

Overall, it is an enjoyable read, and a satisfactory conclusion to the series. As far as I can tell, all of the lose threads are wrapped up, we get reveals that have been teased for a while, and events that have been a long time coming. I wouldn't be surprised if a certain young child ended up getting a book of her own once she gets old enough.

As to if we'll see any more books following directly on from this, I have no clue. I'm curious, but at the same time, this one has wrapped it all up on a good note. I guess we shall see.

Well, this has been a ride I won't forget. Spells have been woven by Silvia in this realm too, cuz even if it's been a while since I read book 2, I immediately remembered everything that previously happened and was easy to see how it unfolds in this one, even with the enormous amount of characters playing the storylines. That can only happen when a masterpiece is written.

Fast paced, enchanting and satisfying makes up the last piece of this amazing world that Silvia created. Conclusions drawn over the last war with the dark side and some beautiful mysteries unravelled, the ending is a fitting one. I cannot believe this is over but, by god, I would love to see Feya grown up. She is as feisty as Reagan when one steps on her tail (loved that scene with them both, btw...had be laughing out loud).

10 stars from me! Magnificent!!!

Fabulous book. This is the last book of Silvia Shaw's second trilogy and what an exciting conclusion to this great series. The story continues where the last left off, where they try to find where the Shadow Monsters are hiding. The book is full of surprises as it twists and turns to the final confrontation between good and evil. All the characters we have met before in Rand rally to the call to protect the Forgotten Realms. What I love about Shaw's novels is that she can write such good characters: the magic people are heroic yet falible, the villains are truly evil and the monsters creepy. I think percocious Feya steals the show. A fantasy series not to be missed.

This was given to me by the author as an ARC

Five stars+. This book winds up the story of the Shadow Makers with a bang. It's soooo good. Savannah and crew prepare to battle for the Forgotten Realms against the witches who are truly evil. There are plenty of surprises on the way as the war accellerates. This series and the first Rand triology are some of the best fantasy books I've read. I hope Silvia keeps this fascinating world going in future books.
I can't praise this book enough.

Great book!

I really hope there will be more books from the world of Rand. I absolutely loved this book and the whole series. All of Silvia Shaw’s books are amazing. The universe she created was absolutely fantastic and it will be hard for me now not to be able to read more about Savannah, all the main characters from those 6 books and their adventures. There is so much more I wanna know. This book is so worth to read, just like the previous ones.

Amazing

I practically kicked my feet and giggled when I saw that this book was out. I had such high hopes and was not disappointed. The Rand books are definitely among my absolute favorite books to read. Every time a new one comes out, I’ll start the whole series again from the beginning. There’s so much depth in the characters and the stories themselves and they’re so satisfying to read. Thank you, Miss Shaw for putting out such amazing books.

I love all the Rand books! This one felt like coming home with all the friends from previous books. Savannah's journey has been wondrous and amazing. The idea of starting over in a whole new world is daunting. She handles it with bravery and grace. Her relationship with Pela offers a partner of equal bravery and grace. Some twists at the end were really fun!

A great installment to this wonderful series. In a world of paranormal magical beings. Evil wages war with good. It’s a fight to the end where coming together breaks the bounds of tyranny.

Another fantastic adventure in Rand!

The Serpent Ring is an action-packed conclusion to the Shadow Makers trilogy set in Shaw's universe known as Rand. I loved the development of this world and the recurring characters that you meet throughout this trilogy and the first books collectively known as Imperial Rand. I highly recommend all books in the series to fans of fantasy, and for fans of sapphic fantasy, these can't be missed. I hope very much to see more stories from Rand in the future.
