Lydia MacClaren has grown so much in her writing and storytelling since her last book. This work shows a level of depth and maturity not often found, especially for a novella. Her pacing is perfect, and despite being a second book in a series, it doesn’t feel like a filler book. It built on the first one and expanded the world while also developing Leiv and Eirlin and their romance. This series of novellas are so worth reading for the countless hidden gems - beautiful writing, careful storytelling and well-developed characters to root for. I can’t wait to read the next installment!

I received an ARC of this is exchange for an honest opinion.
I thought this novella was very well written. I thought the characters were interesting and the setting was well flushed out. I thought the pacing could use some work though, felt a little slow to me.

I love this continuation of Leiv & Eirlin's story! Short, sweet & heartfelt. I got physical butterflies on several occasions and am excited to see how their story continues and how their friends' story begins in the next novella!
