Lexi Hart has come home, to Paradise, the small, northern Californian town she’d been forced to leave eight years ago. The Brotherhood of Lone Riders MC had seen to that – they’d driven her away; hounded her out. She’d broken their rules. They’d had no other choice.

But now Lexi is back. After spending the past eight years with her father in England, at the Lone Riders mother chapter where her father Charlie Hart has been President for over thirty years, Lexi now needs to face up to the things that had seen her driven out of Paradise all those years ago. She needs to face up to what happened while she was away; the mistakes, and the consequences. She needs to find answers to questions she can’t let go of. She needs to find her own truth because, for far too long, Lexi Hart had been living someone else’s.

Growing up within the whole Lone Riders lifestyle, she still finds it difficult, even after thirty-five years, to love the club she was born into; the club her grandfather had created. Getting her head around the way it works isn’t easy for Lexi, even after all that time. And as for the men who live within its confines, her relationship with them is even more complicated. Even more dangerous. With one man proving more dangerous than the others… and now she’s back in Paradise. Where that man is…

Can he help her find the truth she so desperately seeks? Those answers she’s looking for? And when dark secrets from the past begin to be revealed, and dangerous games start being played, can the Lone Riders pull together to survive the storm that’s about to hit Paradise…?

Michelle Betham is an ex-media technician turned author of super-sexy romance, usually involving rock stars, DJs, movie stars, hot businessmen, and bikers. But not usually all in the same book. Yet. A proud indie author, she also has six books published through One More Chapter, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, one of which is a pyschological thriller/romantic suspense written under the pen name of ML Roberts.

Addicted to binge-watching TV shows she struggles to think of a life before Netflix or Amazon Prime, loves music - especially rock and EDM; tattoos – of which she has many; spicy food, superheroes (she's a slightly obsessed Avengers fan-girl who harbours a particularly unhealthy obsession with Captain America), and Keanu Reeves – a crush that’s lasted well over twenty years, and one she blames entirely on ‘Point Break’. The original. She refuses to acknowledge any remake exists.

Her dream is to ride a Harley, visit Las Vegas, and be able to eat any amount of chocolate without putting on weight.

She lives in County Durham, north-east England, with her husband and their West Highland Terrier, Opie - named after her favourite biker in Sons of Anarchy! She can be found, most days, at her desk drinking tea and making up stories.

I don't even know what to say to all of this, the story has a lot of unanswered things and I felt like I had fallen by parachute in the middle of a story and missed the beginning.
I didn't like the Zeroine and her attitude doesn't match that of a grown woman in her thirties. Our supposed Zero, yes supposed because I was really confused at first with her having sex with two men and her thoughts confused and all over the place.
The supposed Zeroes going out to have sex with the porn actresses after they both had sex with our Zeroine... left me with a really bad feeling.
As if sex was just a itch to scratch and with no importance or emotional connection and our Zeroine a whore who was there to serve them. So I was really surprised to find out that our Zeroine was the mother of a baby and the father was the VP.
Jesse was the most honest, at least he dumped his girlfriend before having sex with Zeroine. A girlfriend who used to live with him and were together for 5 years... was dumped as a porn star... wait a minute, she's a porn star! LOL!
I expected much more with the arrival of Charlie and the removal of the current president and replacement by the VP. After all, he put the lives of the club members in danger through greed and inability.
And Zeroine's mother... she seemed to me an insecure and manipulative woman. She projected all her character flaws onto her daughter, after all she also cheated on her husband and ended up running away to America with her lover.
Zeroine definitely has daddy issues.
I don't know if when the lust phase passes if the couple will stay together. They seem to me to be two immature lust-motivated ones.
Poor Jesse!
I was more interested in knowing about Charlie than any other character. Let's see what the next book has in store for us.

And you weren’t supposed to be afraid of home, were you? Home was supposed to be your safe place. She just wasn’t entirely sure she had one of those anymore.

Angie and Tay’s affair had almost torn Charlie’s world apart, but with the help of the club, and the support of its members, he got through it.

‘Fine. Apart from Angie working herself up into a paranoid frenzy.’ ‘Tay due back today?’ Jesse blew more smoke up into the air.

It was thudding so hard inside her it was almost painful. And that beating only got faster and harder when she saw him, for the first time since the events that had led to her leaving almost eight years ago.

Jesse grinned, leaning back against the Ducati, folding his arms. ‘Man, I never turn down one of Angie’s dinners. Be nice to have something edible for a change. Deena ain’t the best cook in the world, believe me.’

‘Her talents lie in other areas, huh?’ Kip smirked, referring to Jesse’s porn star girlfriend.

‘I don’t have a sister. My sister died eight years ago, remember?’

‘You should’ve stayed in England, Lexi.’ Kip’s voice was low, his tone mildly threatening. But that wasn’t anything that Lexi couldn’t handle. She was used to it. Probably more than she should have been. ‘Because I have no idea what the fuck you’re doing back in Paradise.’

‘What Tay and I did to your father, you think that was any different to what Lexi did to Jesse?’

‘She broke this. I saw what she did to you, but I also understand why she did what she did. You think I had no idea what was going on? I knew, Jesse. So I understand why she acted the way she did.’ ‘I never meant to push her so far away, Angie.’

‘Who do you think gave me no option but to leave town in the first place?’

‘I tried to move my life on, Lexi. I’m with someone else now and she’s… she’s been good for me, you know?’

Deena Lopez, a glamour model and part-time porn star who did a lot of work for the Lone Riders’ movie business here in Paradise.

‘There ain’t no mess, honey. Me and Charlie, we made sure of that.’

Angie watched him as he turned to walk away. ‘She’ll have her suspicions, you know that, don’t you?’

‘About what happened with Shane. She’s not stupid, Tay. She knows the way things work around here.’

‘He was trying to push you away,’ Kel said quietly, causing Lexi to look back at him. ‘You could see that?’

‘When Coby was in England, just before Shane died… why was it all such a huge secret? Why could nobody else know about it?’

‘You take me, you take him, too, Coby. Jesus! He’s your fucking son! Do you ever think about that, huh? Do you? Do you ever think about him?’

More of a 2.5⭐. It's finally over.... I mean book 1, not the trilogy. I don't know if I can handle more of this... I'm afraid book 2 is going to be just like this book.

My problem with this book was little story and more sex. I don't think the H and h ever had a conversation without have sex. This book was a decent size that you think we would have had a great storyline with lots of information instead the author played a game of I'm giving you a little bit of information but I'm going to confuse you with it and instead of letting it all happen it was back to sex and more sex.... think I'll try something else

I finished this book and have already one clicked book 2 in the series. I rate it a solid 4.5 stars and I really liked the book. It's different and it's one of those books that everybody won't like. It's been very interesting. Lies, deception, secrets, revenge, intrigue, cheating, sex, sex and more, etc. It's not just about romance. It's also about club politics and the dirty little things some people know. When I first started the book I was frustrated because the h has just returned from an 8 year absence. She was banned back to the mother chapter in England because she supposedly cheated on her old man. I have to applaud the author for keeping the revelation of the secrets slowly coming. You never really figure it all out until the very end. There's a 14 year age difference, h is 35, H is 49. They initially met when she was 10 years old. But nothing developed until she was 25. The h and H were those kind of characters that I liked but also disliked This book was like watching a movie where everybody has an ulterior motive and you're trying to figure it all out. I still say I've a read a book with a very similar situation but I can't find it. Maybe I've read so many MC books they are all mushed together in my brain now. I would love to hear back from those of you who decide to read this book. It's available on KU.

MC Disfunction

This is MC has some serious issues within the club but they eventually come to light and begin to get dealt with.
This book basically focuses on Lexi, daughter of the mother chapter's president. I did not like Lexi so I had a hard time with this book. I want to cheer her on and wish her the best but just wasn't feeling it. She has to be the most immature, self centered female character that I have encountered. The MC members treat her as if she were 18/19 but she is in her THIRTIES! I just couldn't connect with her. Also, the sex scenes are bordering on too violent. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for rough sex and even some mild BDSM. The relationship she has with the H is disfunctional when it comes to sex and it was disturbing to read because it was like that EVERY time. They both try to physically harm the other, he even states "I like you hurting" (during sex).
There are other characters in this book that I would like to know more about and will most likely read the next book in the series when it is released if it is not primarily about this couple. I just wasn't feeling any emotions toward them nor between them.
The backstory of this particular MC was very interesting and creative. For that and MC accuracy I have rated it three stars.

Pretensioso.
Uma leitura razoável, mas o recurso do "mistério", dos segredos que vão se revelando aos poucos é difícil de manter. Daí eu li até o final, mas lá pelos 70% já estava de saco cheio. E os segredos foram bem decepcionantes.

I spent my entire time reading this book waiting for a big overwhelming secret to come out that would explain the 'why' of everything that was going on. When the secrets did come out I still didn't understand because they really weren't that big of a deal. At least not big enough to explain everything they went through to keep them. That said, I did like the book. It carried a feeling of unease and betrayal through the whole story. And I happen to like books where most of the characters are unlikeable and untrustworthy. I was still a bit confused when I finished this story so I'm hoping the next one clears some things up.

OK, I did not like Lexi or Coby. the H & h. They had no love, just painful sex. A lot of the twists didn't make sense to me. Never heard of Hos before bros in the MC world... Even when the Ho is the MC Prez's daughter. I felt really bad for Jesse. That all being said... I read the entire book in a day & felt the need to put this review so........

I liked the plot and its twists a lot, but I hated Lexi, I just couldn't get to like her, she seemed so immature and stupid with all her actions, also Coby he didn't deserve the ending, he betrayed many people how on earth can anyone in his chapter trust him, my desired ending would have been to have both of them chased out of town so Jesse could become President of the MC.

A great start to a new series. It has great characters and a wonderful story line. It's not your same old love story. It was a different twist to a MC book. It was great and I can't wait to see what the next book is like. This book was well worth the read. Rated very good

Just watch sons of anarchy and copy it to print. There were some twists, but not enough heat in the sheets to be considered interesting
