As a rule I don't read really short books anymore but I couldn't resist this plus the series is on KU.
This is a nice if incredibly short hot read, Veyr is the most powerful Alpha Wolf and Master of the City every year every pack offers a young woman and Veyr gets to pick one for the night.
Cyan's pack is struggling and more human than wolf and with no other options she finds herself at the ball, her packs offering but she'll be ok she's plump not at all his usual type.
Veyr's night just became interesting the second he sees Cyan.
I enjoyed this so it's straight onto the next one for me but when I checked 'Master of the City' book 2 appears to be about totally unrelated characters and book 3 seems to be the follow on so I'm moving on to that.

This is a short read with same seriously smexy wallop! I would love to see this expand to a series. For such a short read you get a nice chunk of world and character development.
It is a mixed narrative, giving POV for both Cyan and Veryr. I love that she is a curvy girl, but owns her sexiness. Veryr is deliciously Alpha! I love the banter between the two!
This short read delivers on the smut! A real pantie soaker!!! Oh yesh!!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Stormy Monroe, who does a nice job, when you speed up the read. If you listen at normal speed there are weird pauses and it is painfully slow. Punch things up to a double time and it is an enjoyable read. She has a great tone and energy, just needs to speed things up.
These smutty shorts, are really a serial in disguise. I really enjoyed them, so I am not overly upset about it. It was a trick though to get me invested and then I had to read it in sections.

Master of the City is a wonderful must read short! This is a spicy,hot, sexy read that leaves you hoping she will write more in this theme...

Este libro es una introducción a la historia de Veyr y Cyan. Veyr es el amo de la ciudad y Cyan una loba que apenas tiene sangre lycan en su manada. La única esperanza para ellos es que Cyan procree con el amo. Pero una vez que Veyr la conoce no parece querer dejarla marchar por la mañana.

Master of the City by Mina Carter is a quick erotic read featuring a BBW heroine and a sexy alpha werewolf. Cyan Travis has to go to some werewolf ball to fulfill her pack's obligation. Not expecting to attract the eye of the Master of the City, Cyan insults Veyr which just turns him on even more. I will say no more about the plot but I will say...omg....the bedroom scene is hot, hot, hot. Mina Carter did an excellent job of creating a back-story for this short interlude so even though the story focuses on one main scene between the characters, I still felt like I read a complete story (involving one night). I also love how Mina was able to convey a possible HEA in one sentence. It takes a very talented writer to leave me wanting more but being completely satisfied with what I got. Highly recommend!!!

If you are looking for a quick erotic read then you need to check out Mina Carters new short story. Master of the City is a quick read that will leaving you wanting more. Cyan has to go to the werewolf Midwinter Ball as her pack’s tribute. She is a curvy woman and knows that she is wasting her time because the master of the city would never chose a curvy girl like herself. She meets another male guest and ends up insulting the guest, which then brings everyone’s attention to her including the master of the city. He loves that Cyan is a spitfire and loves her generous curves. The book ends leaving us wondering if they will get their happy ever after! I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens between the two of them.

All of the packs have to send a young female pack member to the master of the city for him to make his choice who he wants for the night. Cyan's pack has no young females so she is stuck being the one going. She already knows that she isn't going to be picked. She's not skinny and glamorous like the others. Imagine her shock when she ends up catching his attention.
My Opinion:
This is a great short! It leaves off where the story can continue and definitely makes you want more. It's fun, short and steamy! Great for someone who is short on time but really want's to read a good book! I definitely recommend reading!

What an incredible short, short story. I loved it. Just as it starts to get really interesting it over.
Every year the Master of the City is required to pick a maiden to be his for a day. After all it is his duty to spread his see among the pack. Oh my, such a chore.
Our heroine, Cyan, is a BBW. She has a smart mouth and very opinionated. She was trying to be low and avoid the Master of the City. But that doesn't happen.
The Master of the City finds her and he doesn't want to let her go. I am really hoping for more.

Cyan is a wolf shifter she has to attend the winter ball where the master of the city veyr is the master of the city and alpha of his pack his job is to speed his seed to woman each year so that they might have a cub to further his line when he meets cyan he is disguised so that no one knows who he is he starts a conversation with cyan and insulate her and she slaps him that's when he knew she was his pick for the night will it be one night or will more come Morning time to find out I strongly suggest you read this short it's great 5 gold stars

AMAZINGLY BREATHTAKING
This short story is so steamy and hot that is me made want to read more. The story line was so sexy and complete that is brought me into their world of shifter romance that leaves you breathless and wanting. Surprised that it was so short. Shouldn’t have been. I have several books by Mina. This was just ok for me. Not much story. Master was an ass, but came with the title. Expected more fight from Cyan after all of that righteous indignation. Oh well.

Should Have Been Longer
Is a great story, but it needs to be longer. Like what happens to Cyan and the Master of the City? Does she get pregnant? Does he keep her? Does she stay? Does he fight for her? To many unanswered questions.
