I received the Not a Word About Love ebook through a promotion.

This story is about a woman, Maya, who is trying to get away from her current life to regain focus, inspiration, and love again. She believes life is too short to waste it on routines or unhappiness. A lesson she learned when her mother past away.

Maya struggles with the loss of her mother still after several years. She allows that negativity and sadness to affect her relationship and professional life. She’s distant towards her husband and is creatively stuck with her work.

Uri, Maya’s husband, sends her off on a journey to get away, to find herself and her passion back. What happens on that trip is probably not what he expects. Maya has an affair on Uri with a stranger she meets on the plane. She meets that stranger several more times after. What she finds out about this stranger and about herself inspires her. She’s able to focus on the good again, not just the bad.

Note: I do not recommend this story for those who have strong morals and do not enjoy reading about affairs, cheating, or abortions. Even though abortions is only mentioned once in a small segment, it is something that the reader learns about Maya’s character that may bother them.

Otherwise, the story is very well written. The dialogue is easy to follow and it flows well. The way the settings are describe provides an vivid image to the reader on what Maya is experiencing on her journey.

In this book we meet Maya, a woman that is at a crossroads in her life. She is struggling with her career as a screenwriter, she is having a hard time with her marriage, and in her life. She is reminded of her mother frequently, who passed away, and is having a hard time dealing with life being dull and unexciting.

At the suggestion of her husband, Uri, she takes a solo trip to try and reconnect and discover what it is she wants in her life. On the plane she becomes aroused and infatuated by the man in the seat next to her. Several times throughout her trip, they meet, and she can't believe the overwhelming power of attraction she has to this man.

Over the course of her trip, she learns about herself, and in the end, starts the return trip home with a renewed sense of self. Planning ahead for all that she plans to do with her family.

It was a very well written book, and steamy where it needed to be. Hana Goldberg is a great author, and I look forward to reading more from her.

In Not a Word About Love, we follow Maya on a sabbatical from her "real life".
I found myself relating and cursing Maya at times.
She is a late 30's mother and wife and she reflects on the burdens this life can carry. At her husband's encouragement, she takes a solo vacation to lift her depression and give her the opportunity to work on her screenplay.
I found that Maya was such a real character that I could relate to her competing desires. On one hand she wants to be a devoted wife and mother but on the other, she wants to run away from it all.
Hana Goldberg takes you on this journey with Maya. I found Goldberg's writing to be very real. The characters jumped off the page at me.
After a couple weeks of freedom, which path do you think Maya will choose?
The story is far from predictable and I found myself glued to the book from cover to cover.
All in all, this was a fantastic read!
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I have read a new book called "Not a word about love". The Bennett beginning of the book is very intriguing it shows a woman getting on a plane and been infatuated with a person sitting right next to her and being sexually aroused by him. I myself do not condone affairs. After that in the story, in a kind of takes an odd turn into the narrator's life about how her mother passed away and how her and her husband that other things that was not really understandable until later on in the book. Also don't understand how a grown woman can fall asleep in Bangkok on a curb. There's only a few erotic parts in this book but the descriptor of one of you is pretty good. If you like to read erotic novels this is a good book. If you like to skip ahead to juicy parts do that is good too !

I had never read a book by Hana Goldberg, and I'm so glad that I was able to review the Ebook - Not a Word About Love. It is a story about a woman named Maya, who is unsettled with her career and her marriage. She takes a trip to Thailand for inspiration, where she meets a man named Joe, and they have an affair. The affair gives her new perspective on her life, and she is able to see her life for its positives, and return home happily.

This book starts in Israel and travels to Thailand and is about a beautiful middle aged woman names Maya who finds herself in a sad routine, in a revolting marriage with a man that sees her more as a bitter child rather then a troubled, injured woman.

She feels the only right thing he has done and the only good thing he has done for her was to tell her to go to Thailand and so that she could relax and possibly screen write something she feels is more worthy then ripping up and tossing in a waste basket.... that and a business card.

Since her mother's passing she has not been able to cry and instead has allowed it to harbor and fester deep within her soul . She slowly suffers in silence and misery. You can see all of Maya's pain and envy as she observes other couples.

Maya's obsession with this total stranger that she meets on a plane sends her into an unforeseen turmoil and destroys herself worth at times. Soon as Maya works on her self-confidence and control, she finds that this stranger who is fooling with her emotions is not all he is saying he is.

What I took away from this book is that regardless what you have been through you can't really use that to allow yourself to make bad choices. Life is too short and should be enjoyed.

I would recommend this book to someone who would like to read about a Character over coming self doubt and learning what it is they really want in life.

Not A Word About Love is a short contemporary romance novel about a woman named Maya, who is unsettled in her career and marriage. After the death of her mother, several years prior, life just hasn’t been the same. She became bored with her everyday routine and struggles to find happiness. Unable to find her way in life, she takes a trip to Thailand for some self-reflection and inspiration. She meets a man named Joe and they develop a love affair. The affair gives her new meaning and perspective in life. This new perspective helps her focus on the positives and she decides it’s time to return home.

This story is well written with dialogue that flows with ease. The settings are described so vividly that you can feel what Maya is experiencing on her journey. It was such an exciting and suspenseful novel, that it was difficult to put down. You will laugh and you’ll cry, truly a pleasure to read. I would recommend this novel to my friends.

Not a Word about Love is a story of a woman, Maya, who is in need of some soul searching and clarity in her life. She is unhappy with her marriage which has become stale so she goes on a vacation to clear her mind and get a new perspective. I found myself angry with her through most of the book - poor decisions and some hints at what I would think is mental illness. Maya goes on a journey by herself and then with a friend to find herself and what she wants. After taking the winding, bumpy road it seems that by the end of the book she did finally decide the best course for her life.

Not a Word About Love was well written, developed and easy to follow although through some chapters - I was so angry with the main character that I didn't want to turn the page and continue.

It was very different than I had originally thought based on the write up. I do not usually enjoy books with a lot of sex and masturbation, however I really enjoyed every other part of the book, that I was able to appreciate the novel in its entirety. Maya is dealing with the lost of her mother 8 years prior and feels lost in life, and without purpose. Her husband sends her to Thailand (umm, can I have him!?) to help her find herself, relax and perhaps start writing again. We are taken through her affair, and the streets of Thailand on her journey of self-discovery and rebirth, with extraordinary description that makes you feel on location.

Spectacular!! There’s no doubt that the writer is an artist of words, a queen of mixed voices and tones. It offers both witty humor and serious reflection. This book rides a circus bike between seriousness and laughter, intimacy and distance, responsibility and recklessness, beauty and ugliness, wildness and restraint. Contrasts that create a spectacular mosaic plot of color and depth, encompassing love, marriage, forbidden desires, and especially the complexity of the relationship between men and women: a relationship of beauty, bitter disappointments and emotional growth. A must read.

I loved reading this book! This book was fairly interesting. It’s different from the typical books that I read. I usually don’t read books that have romantic sides to them, I’m more of a fantasy person, but this wasn't cheesy at all. I’d expect romantic books to be cheesy. This book took my on a journey that was unexpected. I actually thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. It’s a good length too, not too long and not too short. It’s about 250 pages. I easily finished it in two days. I couldn't stop reading! The book has such a flow to it, it’s almost impossible to put it down.

**MAY BE LIGHT SPOILERS!!!**

Not a Word About Love by Hana Goldberg was an excellent read. Though everyone interprets books differently, this is what i thought...

It's about Maya - a wife and mother struggling with her marriage, her job, & the death of her mother years earlier. It's also about her sexuality and longing, and her purpose and place in the world. She just wants a deep and real connection, like she had growing up with her mother, except she can't find that because she is looking in all the wrong places. Her husband decides to send her off on a trip for some time away so she can focus on her job, and to rediscover herself and her passions.
Maya is a woman who wants more out of life - adventure, passion, and a real connection. She often thinks back to how it felt to be loved unconditionally by her mother, but cannot find that connection elsewhere... Maya often seems lonely, and even sad, at times. She is a very sexual person and she can't help but search for a connection with strangers. Though Maya's outlook on life doesn't seem to be the best, she is often understanding and sympathetic to people she meets along the way.

Hana Goldberg wrote this book with love. I can even imagine the streets of Thailand with the locals, the scenery, and even smell the food cooking. Each and every character had thought put into it and was complex in their own way. It was easy to follow and every page had great detail put into it. It was steamy and sexual where it needed to be. This author put great thought into this whole book and it shows. I was captivated the whole way through, especially wondering what the main character, Maya, was thinking and what she would do next!

This was a great book, and i recommend reading this if your searching for a new book to read! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and can't wait to read more from this author! Don't miss out on this one, its a MUST read!

Not a Word About Love isn't your typical romance story.

Maya is a woman who's going through a midlife crisis, the death of her mother and the trouble in her marriage have put her in a depressed state. She goes on vacation to Bangkok to get out of her rut and meets a handsome stranger who changes her life. What follows is a tale of romance, betrayal, and finding what makes you happy.

Maya, at times she came across as selfish, but reading about her past, her closeness with her mother, and her loveless marriage to Uri, I felt for her and wanted her to find the happiness she was craving. She thinks she finds that with Joe, the stranger she meets on the plane. Maya and Joe's relationship felt a bit too rushed, the first time they meet they have sex on the airplane. To me, it would've worked better if there was more buildup to their romance and getting to know each other before they hit the sack. Maya thinks she's found Mr. Perfect when she meets Joe, she so enamoured with him that she can't stop thinking about him, but a series of incidents shows Joe's true colors, which threatens to leave her heartbroken.

Even though the story has a sad undertone to it, the author lightens the mood with humor. My favorite parts are when Maya is strolling the streets of Bangkok with a Terrier dog that she's become close to. I also loved when he best friend Thea joined her on the next leg of her trip. Thea is just like Maya, in the sense that she's trying to figure out who she is and what she wants out of life. Throughout the story they have numerous discussions about the struggles they face in their lives. I loved how close their friendship is with the two of them bickering one minute then comforting each other the next.

Overall, it's a good story and I loved the ending. I won't give too much away, but let's just say Maya gets the upper hand and finds the happiness she's been looking for.

I have been given the chance to read and review an ebook copy of Not A Word About Love by the lovely Hana Goldberg. It is a sensual story about a search for love for a lonely woman called Maya and her trip to Thailand on a journey of self discovery.
Maya is a woman in her late 30's and with her husband's wishes embarks on a holiday on her own to write her screenplay and to help with her depression. She is struggling with accepting her unexciting life and dull marriage to Uri.

On the plane to Thailand she ends up sitting next to a man called Joe who she soon becomes obsessed with and they end up having an affair. Maya meets up him various times throughout the book and eventually realises what she is throwing away when she wakes up on the streets of Thailand, lonely and longing for her life back home.

Hana Goldberg keeps the reader guessing in the beginning as you have no idea what Maya will do next. Goldberg portrays Maya as a frustrated woman with her life and this trip gives her the freedom to be let loose. Although I don't condone what Maya does you cannot but like her character.

I love the way the author describes Thailand, it makes you feel that you are on the streets with Maya and on her journey to find happiness in life. The settings are very well described and the book well written.

My only dislike is that the book seemed very short when I read it on my kindle, I would have loved for it to have been longer! But looking back, it was 265 pages so I obviously enjoyed it so much I didn't want it to finish.

This is a book for a reader looking for a strong character based book and perfect for holiday reading. I think it is a book that you can go back and read again one day, and it's one I will.

I follow the beat of a different drummer. I know this book is supposed to be funny, and although there are amusing moments, I found this book rather sobering. Reading this book was like looking at a point in time in a young woman's life where everything converges and evaluations have to be made. Those of you in your forties and on will know what I mean. We have all been through it, one way or another. You have lived life for a number of years and the experiences and goals of your life bring you to a moment in your life where you must re-evaluate where you have been, where you are now and what you will do with the rest of your life.

Although it could be called a mid-life crisis, this also happens after the loss of someone important in your life. Having lost her mother to cancer, Maya feels herself "stuck" and at a stand still. She looks at her husband Uri and after eleven years, the attraction is no longer there. You know, that sexual heat and passion that drives your body crazy where you can hardly keep your hands to yourself. In her case, life is very organized. Sex is part of a predetermined schedule, the same position is used, with the same results week after week. Without spontaneity and the element of surprise, that glorious union between two lovers is lack luster and boring.

This well-written novel takes us through the journey Maya goes through as she examines both her expectations and priorities. An extra marital affair serves as the catalyst to re-ignite her long forgotten desires, while she opens her eyes to reality and all it entails.

This is a light read book, great read while traveling or on the beach. “Not A Word About Love” leaves the reader hooked and curious to what will happen next, questioning how this broken woman can get back on her feet. It is a story of a lonely woman named Maya who recently lost her mother and is experiencing a boring dull marriage.

Maya is struggling with her marriage, the death of her mother, and writing a screenplay. So, her husband sets her off on a getaway to her favorite place in Thailand to discover herself and return as an energized and positive person. I think Goldberg does a great job in captivating the readers and bring the story to life. The scenes are very vivid, bringing smiles, sadness, and a bit of anger towards the character.

Although, I enjoyed reading this book I think the character comes off a bit too desperate, she longs for any attention other than her husband’s. She cheats on him once she is on the plane, the very first chance she got to cheat she took it. She does not try to stop herself from cheating. It is when she is rejected; she realizes her family back home and the love for her husband. Also, I am not a fan of adultery books and for these reasons I gave four stars.

I have been given the chance to read and review an ebook copy of “Not A Word About Love” by the Hana Goldberg.

I was taken out of my world and into Hana's from the first sentence. I was totally lost to the book until the last page. It made me cry for Maya's pain, laugh at her candor, mad at some of her and the other character's choices, and proud of who she found herself to be by the end of the book. I truly hated to say goodbye to her at the end. She found herself in a place in life that so many middle-aged women do. She took life head on and did what she needed to to find herself and her own brand of happiness. I lived vicariously through her on her adventure. It was so easy to just slide into her life and forget my own for awhile. She writes about all the little things that tend to be avoided in many books. It is real life with all it's ups and downs.

I spent time growing up in the orient and was transported right back to there within the pages of the book. It made me see things that I had forgotten in time's passing. I was so immersed that I could see it all as if I were standing there again, hearing the language, smelling the wonderful foods of the street vendors, and the beautiful chaos that is an Orient city. I was truly made homesick. Hana has a way of transporting you to far away places so easily that you don't even notice until you arrive back at home.

As many of you know, I absolutely despise when you read a review of a book and its rife with spoilers, so I'll try as hard as I can not to do that. Onward with the review;

The main character Maya, sets out on a overseas trip at the behest of her husband with the hopes of her breaking through the depression that has gripped her. Immediately in the beginning of the book, Maya has an affair on the airplane ride to Bangkok with the passenger in the seat next her. As a result of the affair, it makes her come to terms with the state of her marriage.

Along Maya travels, she she also comes terms with her role as a mother and the loss of her mother. As well other relatable issues that we face at one time or another.

With outstanding scene setting that makes you visualize the area and relatable life issues and steamy romantic themes, I found the book well written, even though it was not easy read by any means, stick with the book and you truly will be happy that you did.

Have you ever had a chain of events that just bring you to the brink of no return? Where everything is turned upside down? You are frustrated, sad, mad, lonely, trapped and caged? I have so I can relate to Maya in this story. However she handles herself there is someone who can relate. I can't say I would have done the same things as she did, but to each their own. We are all different and handle life differently. Maya - is ready to find herself again and go on a journey of self discovery. While finding herself she learns to laugh again, feel sexy, find adventure and love again. I am not a romantic book kind of reader and try to stear clear, but I am open to new experiences (like Maya). Not a book I would typically read, but if you are a sucker for humor and romance then grab a copy.

This was a interesting story. Its about a woman named Maya, a screen play writer, who gets bored with her everyday life and routine. She no longer feels that romantic pull between her and her husband and finds herself in a downward spiral. After much persuasion her husband Uri convinces her to take a vacation to clear her mind. While gone she meets up with this man and ends up having a marital affair with him. Through out the book Maya faces pain, heartache, romance and passion.

Hana Goldberg does a great job of captivating her audience with the amount of detail she uses. This story pulled me in, and I found myself laughing and a bit angry at times. Though the book seemed a bit slow in parts I suggest reading it to the end, as I found the more I read the more captivated and curious I became to find out what would happen to Maya and Uri. I can see why this would be considered a #Bestseller.

After eleven years of marriage, Maya is swept away on a sensual, daring and hilarious journey following a random meeting with a stranger. How far will she be willing to go?

This has some very sharp dialogue and some very clever metaphors. This has a very tight and elegant plot. It actually kept me at the edge of my seat and I couldn't put the book down. That is how I know it is a great book to read. Some books I have a hard time getting into and I just end up stop reading them, but not this one. It truly a great story to read. The author, . Goldberg draws her characters with such precision it feels like you can actually touch them.

I had the opportunity to read this book directly from the author. So I read it and decided to write a review for the book. I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinion of this book.

This is my honest review for this great book. This is in my own words and opinion of the book.

Not A Word About Love by Hana Goldberg is adventurous. The book flowed very nicely and was a page-turner. You felt like you were right there with the characters and surroundings. It is sensual, provocative and detailed. It is humorous and serious at times. Maya goes on a journey not just on plane but emotionally. Maya is having a difficult time with her marriage and her career as a screenwriter. She doesn’t have any passion in her marriage and is longing for that. Maya takes a trip alone without her husband Uri to figure out what she is missing. She meets a man sitting next her on a plane and becomes fascinated and has a strong attraction to him. At the end she is awakened and has a new outlook on life. I enjoyed reading this book and read it pretty quickly. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a perfect book to take on vacation. I received this book for free in return for a review.

his Book was a very nice contemporary read. It was very interesting to read something that had different parts and chapters it was kind of like reading three different books in one. Upon firstglance I was not sure if I was going to be able to follow the book being broke apart like this but the author made it flow very well. She made the characters feel like they were so real that they were actually alive in the world around me. I would be interested to read more books by this author, I this this book being a award winning book is the correct recognition it deserves. I would love to pick up more book that are well writen and played out like this one and that are easy going and that bring the characters to life.

This book is about a screenplay writer Maya who is still struggling with he loss of her mother 7 years prior, and the lack of romance in her marriage. She is feeling like her life is stagnant and and just getting frustrated with life. Her husband Uri suggests she goes to Thailand where life defiantly changes... But will she be able to settle into her old life, and will her husband still be there for her when she gets back? You have to read to find out...

I will say this book is not for you if you have a moral objection to having an affair, or lots of talk about sex and masturbation.

It's been so long since I have been able to relax and read a book that I couldn't wait to dive into this one. This book had me riveted in my seat as I turned each page to find out what happened next. I found that I was glued to the pages from the very first words. They grabbed me from the sensuality and drowned me in their provocativeness. I found myself completely enthralled with the main character Maya as she took us on a ride of unknowing sadness, forbidden love and desire and enviable friendship. The twists and turns in this novel had me guessing until the very end. A must read for any and all novel enthusiasts alike. I can't wait to read other novels by Hana in the future.
