Ruin #3

The Judgement

Rate this book
Ruin wakes up on Earth knowing only one thing: to Judge and Execute.

As an Angel of Judgment with no memory of his origins and no ability to communicate, he seeks help from Isadore, the first human he comes into contact with. Without realizing, he binds molecularity with the OCD Neuroscientist, and slowly becomes permanently attached to her.

But, there is a mission he's sent to accomplish and it isn't about Isadore. Or is it? Something about the eccentric and beautiful woman seems to be preventing him from remembering what he must do in order to complete his task on Earth.

In the breathtaking third book of the Ruin Series, The Judgment, Ruin tackles missions designed to bring him face to face with the answers he desperately needs. Soon, however, he discovers that the clues he gains to unravel the mysteries of his mission will declare war on his heart and soul.

I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.

My heart is running 5 miles ahead of me

"Ruin will have you hooked. This series is sexual, spiritual, romantic, funny, and truly inspiring. You've never read anything like it before. Bestselling author Lucian Bane takes the popular paranormal romance genre and spins it on its head as only he can do."
What can I say that doesn't give anything away? Book three, 'Ruin,The Judgment' in Lucian Bane's epic series "Ruin" is a heart pounding adrenaline ride. Right and wrong, black and white, face off with maybe and grey. Ruin's missions are coming fast and furious. Is he strong enough to stay the course or does Isadore have an overriding influence? I can't wait to dive into the next book.

Well this series just keeps getting better! Lucian Bane has the gift of telling stories. Ruin and Isadore's story continues in the mind blowing tale of love, trust, fantasy, judgements, faith, I could go on because this book has it all! Not once have I been disappointed in any of this author's work, and never believe I will! Brilliant read and looking forward to seeing where he takes he's charters next! Loved, loved this book!! ❤

Lucian Bane continues the saga of Ruin and Isadore. Ruin is commanded to judge and execute, he is not put on earth to give mercy. Isadore's conscience gets the best of her but the attraction and overwhelming love she feels for Ruin is stronger. Together they create some serious sparks.

Determined to make Ruin recognize the power of love, their bond greater then ever, Isadore and Ruin continue to follow the path that is set forth before them. With the help of other paranormal beings, one task after the next must be followed in order for Ruin to make the final judgement. And it's one hell of a twist!!

Again, this master wordsmith brings a depth and intensity to this fantasy with elements that directly correlate to religious truths.

I don't usually read paranormal romance, but picked up this series because I like the author's other books. I've found, the further I get into the series, the better the books get. BUT, there are typos (I lost track of the number of times you're was used in place of your), missing details, wrong names, editorial issues - it feels like the book is being rushed into publication. While I like the characters and the storyline - I find these sorts of things to be at the top of my pet peeve list. If you can see your way past these things, read the series - I'm going to buy the 4th book because I need to know how Ruin and Isadore cope with what's going on...

Omg!

I knew it and I'm freaking out! Where's the next one. Let me at it! There's so much going on in this book. Action, steamy, funny and of course the hidden messages that Lucian does so well. How can I fall in love with all Lucian's characters?! Well I did and I do! So on to the next one!

More answers unfold and mysteries abound in this third installment to the Ruin series.

Ruin is gaining a better sense of his 'job', while Isadore begins to understand more as well. She still fights what she does not understand, but is told to have faith and trust. This can certainly be hard with things we do not know or understand, but is all part of faith. This is a good reminder that sometimes we just need to have trust and faith in those who may know more than we do.

The bond between Ruin and Izzy is much stronger than it was before. When they finally connect and reveal to each other how they feel, oh man I was jumping for joy. The way Ruin professes his love is astounding and you can just feel it pulsing from the pages, grabbing at your heartstrings.

More is about to be revealed and my fingers are just itching to turn those pages.

I need a few days to gather my thoughts after finishing this book.

This is the third book in the Ruin series. I am apart of a read along group on Facebook.

This book touches on unanswered questions form the previous book without giving you a full answer. Ruin and Isadore are still on the road and things take a turn again. Of course this book like the last is filled with the great bickering between Isadore and ruin. It also still centers around the Christian faith. Which I like that, that is the running theme because it some series the theme changes from one book to the next. The ending like the last is a “wat Bane!” moment yet again but this one is bigger than the last. To the point you are like why why why!

This is the third installment in the Ruin saga and picks up where book two left off.

The chemistry between Isadore and Ruin continue to grow and become stronger as they continue to become closer. Mr. Bane has the gift of storytelling as the series keeps getting better and better with each book. I fall deeper in love with his incredible characters and the way he spins the story with every page I turn. The storyline keeps growing and getting stronger and stronger and more in depth with each written work pulling you further into the story. The author has yet to disappoint and am looking forward to continuing the series.

Riveting Unique Imaginative Naughty

The more I read this story.. I feel I become closer to the answers. But am I? This freaking amazing story will have you thinking, wondering what will come next.. This storyline is so different, you will find yourself truly blown away. It's funny, it's hot an so passionate. This is just one of my favorite quotes..... "Then I am.. slain.. with an eternal, and violent love for you." PERFECT!

Better than the last one.

So this one was an improvement on the last one, but you have to literally skip through 25% or more to get to where you finished in the previous book. It's also getting kinda boring. I'm able to pick out what's going to happen and there's not much suspense. I was along for the ride when we were judging different people and such, knowing we'd get to a certain person. I'm gonna take a break before finishing the next book and try it with fresh eyes.

Book 3 , and it's really getting intense!

I have been fascinated by this series so far. Each one delves deeper into faith, the power of it, and what happens when things you believe in, on sheer faith, suddenly are all around you, in the physical world! Demonic presences, and angelic ones as well. Another cliff hanger, but Mr. Bane has a habit of doing this. Now, I'm almost afraid of what will happen in book 4.

This is getting better and better! If you start to read it you get sucked in into a story that is full of action, love and lusty scenes, and funny ones. Lucian Bane created a world where you feel like you know it all, but then he comes and twists everything in a manner that your jaw drops with a bang to the floor.

Really love this author

Lucian will suck you into the story as you feel the love, joy, pain, and torment of each character. I wasn't able to put the book down going from one book to the next diving deeper into the story. Great read as I wait for the next in his Bayou Bishop series. Yet another great read from the author.

Isadore and Ruin have been on quite the adventure. Unfortunately, the wall that Ruin had came crumbling down. Why? Because he was given the one judgement he couldn't follow through with... The judgement and execution of his wife, Isadore. Definitely must keep going to see where this is going.

Sometimes by the 3rd in a series I'm losing interest. Almost seems repetitive at times. But not this series. So far each book has kept men on my seat edge waiting to see what is gonna happen.

I'm not sure what to make of the ending. Ruin was to do one final assignment, but he couldn't do it. Now the devil has come for them. On to the next to see what happens.

Meh

Soooooo... I've been reading this "Ruin" series by Lucian Bane. You know the one..., the "ineffable Dom"? What evs (rolls eyes). This guy who is supposedly a real life Dom-cum-Erotica-writer (and fyi, I'm talking the Latin word cum as in dual role, not the OTHER cum that he writes about, seemingly, incessantly).

Anyway, I won't judge his entire writing career nor his personal beliefs based on this one series, but there is def something weird that's kinda wigging me out about this dude and his writing.

Maybe it's the off-putting duality of his writing, putting God and Finger-Fucking (or insert nearly any other erotic act here) in the same paragraph while insinuating that one is somehow linked to or acceptable within the same set of beliefs. I can't explain it. It's weird. Here I'll try:

It's like the whole concept of Genesis 2:24 & 25
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."

And Matthew 19:5 & 6
" And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

(Side note, I don't know if my Grandmother would be proud or ashamed of my Bible recall in this instance...)

It's like these passages were the basis for his justification of inserting religion into my erotica reading. Thanks, but no thanks. I don't want to think that while the hero is giving the protagonist the best head of her life and she's moaning, "Oh, God... Oh, God, YES!!" that God is actually listening and looking down with an affable, fatherly expression going, "Very nice, this is exactly what I meant by cleaving...carry on youngsters." Especially when the two aren't legally married in a church.

Oh, I know, it's erotica...and I'm not being a Mary Sue, here (I've read Ann Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy, and any lingering Mary Sue thoughts or tendencies were permanently seared, through my corneas, from my psyche, forever and ever. Amen)..Anyway, I'm not trying to be prudish but if you're going to put God and Religion as the basis for your moral foundation and bring Him up repeatedly, I need you to be married for me to believe that God condones the extramarital porn hijnks these two are up to. And the dude (spoiler alert) is an Angel??!! Def need a priest here, stat.

Anyway, the heroine (and I use that term verrra loosely to describe the female protagonist), is annoying as fuck. If she were real life, I'd probably set her on fire because she's that super stupid. Her stupidity literally fills volumes. I hate her more with every passing page. Her stupid should have a cape with an emblem and a bat signal. It's that super. The hero (who actually isn't that terribly written of a character) had my pity through out all three and a half books I've read today. I'm FORCING myself to finish the 4th and final volume just because I need to see if this female has any redeeming value.

Jesus, this author either wants me to hate her and is a genius (although, I can't see what purpose that would serve in the story arc..., I think I'm supposed to like her or at least feel sorry for her?)... or he so poorly understands women IRL, that he should just jump to M/M Christian erotica and never, EVER write another female character EVER... EVER!!!! NEVER, ever!!!

The story itself is pretty interesting,I guess. I didn't hate it. Kind of Armageddon, End Of Days prophesy shit with Angels and Demons and Grim Reaper and what not.. it's not terrible conceptually.

I'm kind of in Love with one of the side characters, Scriber, who should get his own series where the author co-writes with someone who knows how to write a fucking woman's POV, and I'd read that shit all day long.

But the "thing" that's, I think, most annoying to me about this author is, I get this feeling that he thinks that he's imparting some vast knowledge and secret wisdom about God and Carnality to his readers through this story and that it's meant to be allegorical, to be deciphered for a deeper meaning and to challenge your precepts of good and evil or something. Look dude, Mr LUCIAN BANE, Dante Alighier you are NOT... and this is certainly not his Inferno. Get over yourself.

Anyway, 2.5 stars...would have given it 3.5 if not for the "heroine". Read at the risk of your sanity.

Now this is a Dom-like Para-Alpha Book Boyfriend you can really submit, commit, and profit from!! Through all Ruin's dire consequences and mysterious powers, this character really draws you in to his world and his thoughts as he fights to control his own demons and desires, yet all the while protecting his one and only soul mate and those friends who come into his sphere.

Isadore is really coming into her own and finding that she really does have to ability and strength to protect herself and those she loves. The support, respect and love she gives to this mysterious and dangerous being is what a true woman and survivor of love and war does and I respect her for this.

Ah, SCRIBER!! *thud* How dire and yet moving this new character is, his serious messages are conveyed as creepy, yet meaningful and the suspense of not knowing who or what he is... is just so... so... AMAZING! I WANT HIM! LOL!

I absolutely adore this author style of writing as he always puts his stamp on the true things that matter in life and that is love, respect, commitment, protective instincts, laughter and living life to the utmost extreme.
