The voice inside my head are not guide me to my destiny but I'm not Gaige!

This is a little story of a boy with a power hungry, soulless father, a telepathic white mouse, and a naughty peen--science fiction ala great fiction writers Tom Robbins and Christopher Moore but Calinda B has added an erotic bent to it. This has a lot of search for self, coming of age, overcoming evil--in society and in one’s self, adventure, friends, zaniness, and for Gaige--hormones and a Johnson that has been awoken through a mystical ceremony and now must find dreamy sexual satisfaction while his partners are asleep or he, the man-boy-alien-guy, will see red; all of that was very literal. I don't really know what I just listened to which is why I'm saying it was pretty good - Gaige has a manipulative, well let's just call it what it is - evil father who does the most atrocious acts to his son. So Gaige is basically abused by his father and goons and Red Rex comes into existence. Gaige fights his inner Red Rex for awhile until he finally just gives up everything he holds dear to him and becomes Red Rex in full. Very erotic scenes throughout the read / listen and believe it or not there is a HEA. I will say that it was an absolute pleasure to listen to this narrator. S Johnson could read to me anytime!!! He not only made this character but helped to elevate this read in my opinion.

Wow a fantastic read and suspenseful right from the start. This action packed read kept me captivated from start to finish. With the twists and turns. This Author has done a fantastic job at bringing forth this epic read with epic scenes. I definitely recommend.

Gaige’s father turns his entire life upside down by setting something loose inside Gaige and now he’s on the run trying to dodge his father’s trackers all while trying to control the red darkness inside before he turns evil like his father in this exciting sci-fi romance.

A Steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, action and romance. The reader can’t help but get caught up in Gaige’s life as he is betrayed by his father and all his future plans are ground to a halt and spine tingling anticipation builds throughout the story as Gaige stumbles from one encounter to the next while trying to learn what he needs to about himself and his father’s people. The journey is fraught with lots of danger and excitement including a trip to space while looking for clues to what happened to his mother and then there is his intriguing ability to travel to different dimensions.

The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the story to life while the fascinating world draws the reader into the story. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning. Gaige experiences lots of emotional turmoil that captures the heart as he deals with guilt and feelings of being a monster and he has trouble disconnecting from his human way of thinking therefore not accepting his destiny as Red Rex.

There is never a dull moment as the story has lots of passion, some romance, drama, action, suspense and lots of interesting elements all put together to make for a very intriguing and entertaining read. The story is complex and engaging and there was no way that I could put the story down until I had read every last word and I have to say I found myself quite fond of his little buddy (something I never thought I would say about a rat…even one that talks).

Weirdly entertaining futuristic, sci fi adventure with a mix of sex, lust, blood and death.

World building was good, storyline was not one I have encountered before, it first came across as satanic and I thought "What the hell have I got myself into?" But it soon became apparent it was more of an alien way of life.

But Gaige was no full blooded alien he has his mothers humanity. Something that nearly gets him killed. When his 2 worlds collide he has to accept his dark side and embrace his humanity at the same time. The more I read, the more I needed to read. Those pages kept on turning, finished the book in one sitting.

I have a feeling Gaige's story is far from over. Will certainly read book 2.

Calinda B has crafted a very intricate, well described story. I had no problem visualizing the worlds she created.
Gaige is a normal boy attending high school, playing soccer and in love with his girlfriend Emily. He suddenly faces a very violent coming of age at the hands of his father. While he searches for his mother with the help of his teacher, an older woman and an escaped lab rat, he learns to use his new powers. As he finally accepts himself for who he is now, all of his other problems work themselves out.
I absolutely loved this story. Kudos Calinda.

Gaige Dupond has a senior year like no other. Calinda B masterfully tells his story, from tortured adolescent (literally), denial of his destiny to accepting his fate. This story pulls you into a sci-fi world, that isn't so far fetched. Cryostasis, sending bodies to space to cure their illnesses seems like it could come to pass in the near future. Deception, manipulation, corruption all play a part in this story. I'm sure Red Rex will be back, his job is not done completely.

This is a different and exciting story that I really enjoyed reading! The worlds created here and the complexity of the characters all add to create a wonderfully refreshing and unique story and I can't wait to read more from this author! This story is full of action, danger, suspense and I had no problem becoming completely immersed in this story to the very end. I highly recommend reading this to anyone and I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a strange book, I loved it. This author has a great imagination, I do not think I have ever read anything like it. Gaige is a normal boy living a semi-normal life. His major goal at his age is having sex with his girlfriend. Unfortunately, his father has other plans for him this is where the story really begins and gets strange, but good. I do not like spoilers in reviews. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

I read the other reviews and just don't get it. None of this was new, none of this was well developed, none of this was exciting. Sure there was some language & sex scenes that make it inappropriate for certain ages, but that was the most exciting thing about this story. I kept waiting to get caught up by this story and it never happened. A decent story, but nothing great.

Deception, manipulation, corruption, thrills, adventure and victories abound in this coming of age / sci fi thriller. Gaige Dupond is a great lead character and it's a pleasure following him from heritage denial to coming into power. Add to that a great plot and this author's typically strong writing and the result is a real winner.

If you're looking for a more horror take on your romance than I suggest this by Calinda! It was very spooky and graphic, but also romantic. Go figure :) I don't think I'd ever really put those adjectives together in a sentence lol. Very entertaining!

I'm not rating it because I didn't finish it. I think I read about five chapters and decided this book is probably not for me. Too much language for my tastes, and some of the content just left feeling a little disturbed. Also some sex scenes to skip over.

A really well written book! Loved the storyline plenty of angst in this one. Loved the telepathic rat!! so much fun reading books like this that keep you engrossed in the world that is being developed.

i got an arc copy and i want to review
i have all my life mapped out but then the red darkness awaken in him in his eye. now he is being pursed by a bounty hunter. all he wants is the truth but will he get it. this was such a wonderful read which i just couldnt put down as it was so wonderful

I’ve really enjoyed this book. The intensity and mystery keeps the pages turning, but the angst he’s feeing makes you feel for him. I cannot wait to see more from Calinda. The narrator did a great job with the story and I hope to hear more of his work as well.
