I woke up pregnant in a stranger’s mansion. He says he’s the father. I don’t remember him at all.
My reflection in the mirror is a stranger too. The doctors call it temporary amnesia. The Bratva boss calls it a complication. I call it terrifying.
My body responds to his touch even when my mind doesn’t. But how do you trust a dangerous man who claims you belong to him? Something isn’t adding up.
Locked doors I’m not supposed to notice. Whispered conversations that stop when I enter a room. Guards watching me with suspicion, not protection.
Memories return in fragments. A car crash. My father’s body in a black bag. My mother insisting it wasn’t an accident.
As the fog lifts, I’m learning things that are better left forgotten. What if the father of my baby is also my father’s murderer? And what happens when he realizes I remember?
Welcome to Tarasov Bratva! Porcelain Vows is a Russian dark mafia romance and it is the second book in the Tarasov Bratva duo. For the best experience, read the books in order. Enjoy! xoxo
Hopeless romantic. Bestselling author (still can't get over this one). Dark Mafia Romance enthusiast with a vivid fantasy and an urge to write and share her own stories. :-) Sign up to her mailing list and get a free novella: https://BookHip.com/QANJJGW
The name of this book should be Porcelain Coincidences. There are so many unbelievable things tying them all together. Secret siblings. Sins of the father. Shared fiances. Twice. It was to the point of being ridiculous.
Honestly, this could have been wrapped up in 1 books. Most everything in this one was filler. After resolving the issues with Sofia, Gianni, and everything else, it was pretty boring. Only maybe 125 pages worth of actual book. I do love the twists and turns this took. Just not how long things played out. The last 15 pages were the sweetest. Decent Doulogy and will definitely be looking at other books by this author.
Lisa Lovell’s "Porcelain Vows" plunges readers into a whirlwind of danger, passion, and psychological intrigue in the dark underworld of the Russian mafia. As the second installment in the Tarasov Bratva duo, it picks up the threads of mystery and forbidden romance with razor-sharp intensity.
Stella’s amnesia is more than a plot device—it becomes a haunting lens through which reality bends and distorts. Lovell skillfully uses memory loss to destabilize both character and reader, layering in doubt, mistrust, and flashes of half-remembered trauma. Each recovered memory carries emotional weight and narrative consequence, pushing the story toward a harrowing truth. As fragments of memory resurface—violent, heartbreaking, incriminating—the stakes soar. The romantic and erotic tension between Stella and Aleksei is sizzling, often toeing the line between desire and danger in ways that fans of dark romance will devour.
One of Lovell’s strengths lies in the atmosphere she builds: claustrophobic opulence, shadowy secrets, and the constant sense that something isn’t quite right. The pacing is taut, and the reveals are doled out strategically, keeping the reader guessing until the very end.
That said, readers should be prepared for dark themes, morally grey characters, and a blurred line between love and manipulation. This is not a gentle romance—it’s raw, emotionally turbulent, and laced with violence and trauma.
Lisa Lovell delivers a fierce, gritty tale that grips from the first page to the last. For those who enjoy their romance with a side of danger and a dose of psychological suspense, this book hits all the right marks.
Best read with the first book for full impact—this is a duo you don’t want to break up.
The main theme of this part 2 is found family. Stella and Aleksei build on what they started in the first book. They’re in this together and have each other’s back.
I didn’t like that Alek still kept so much away from Stella and I don’t fully agree with how she accepts that he doesn’t tell her much about what he’s doing when it still affects her greatly. Alek is still angsty and paranoid but he’s learning to let some of his control go. Stella knows his secrets and loves him anyway. Loyalties are tested. Almost all the secrets are revealed. Alek keeps one secret to himself but his reason makes sense.
This is a very emotional story and I actually teared up at the ending. That rarely happens. But this story just grabs your heart and squeezes emotion out of you. Well written, tight plot, not as repetitive as the first book. I hope there’s more to this series.
Pros: storyline good, characters kept growing which I love and the added characters just gave more climax to story. Cons: Stella character I was hoping motherhood would have released the momma bear attitude of standing toe to toe with aleksei. She asked the hard questions eventually. The one thing that just did me in with this book is the continued talk of: the past, Stella family death, aleksei personality, Stella accident I was gonna bang my head against the wall. I'm like enough already we were on the trip with you too no need to keep walking down memory lane, we know you're a victim but you're still with him, still in the situation with no plans or talk of leaving. So either deal with the cards you're dealt or show your hand, fold and get up from the table. It was constant and consistent with this and I put this book down picked it back up only reason I finished was to see the outcome with Bobik. And after suffering Stella not so stellar moments Robin made it worth my while.
Stella is pregnant with Aleksei Tarasov’s child. She has learned a lot about her family’s history and Aleksei. However, when she was kidnapped, she ended up being hit on the head and now has amnesia. She finds Aleksei attractive, but a part of her also fears him.
Aleksei realized how much Stella has become to mean to him not just as his future child’s mother but as a woman. He has to be patient and wants her to fall in love with him before she regains her memories. He is afraid that once her memory returns, she will reject him.
I loved how this story brought all of Stella and Aleksei’s family members into it. I loved how it ended with all the broken pieces of their lives finally fitting together in some very unexpected ways. One of my favorite duets by Lisa Lovell.
Ok so I didn’t really read this book, it was more of a read the first few chapters and then skim the rest. I just needed to know what happened after the cliffhanger of book 1. However, what I did read annoyed me. I feel like the plot was all over the place. Also what annoyed me the most was that Aleksei would inner monologue at the beginning of the book and say “she cant remember that I killed her father” but he doesnt know she knows!!!!! And the wording would flip flop, “she cant find out” to “she cant remember”…. it should’ve been she cant find out the whole time because he doesnt know that she knew before losing her memories. But overall it was a happy ending so yay. But was not really into this book.
As Stella and Aleksei work through their problems together, the past comes back to haunt them.
I loved the fact that old and new family unite towards the end. But it's the trust despite everything between Aleksei and Stella that works. They have some huge hurdles to get over.
The romance is rife in these books and the action and drama doesn't let up. Suspenseful, and dramatic but the romance is always present which is the best.
Lisa Lovell has written a fast paced, Acton packed book that never let go till the last page. Can't recommend this book highly enough!
Waking up pregnant and not knowing who you are is where we find Stella as her story with Aleksei continues. With amnesia plaguing her Stella has to navigate a life not knowing the people around her. As Aleksei deals with an attack against his business, there are shocks and revelations that will either break Stella and Aleksei or bring them closer together. The conclusion to this story doesn't disappoint and is full of twists and turns, leaving you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed this story and struggled to put it down to go to work. If you like Mafia/Bratva books then you will love this one.
The second book basically continues where book one leaves off. We start off with so much going on for our wonderful Aleksei as this drastically took a turn in the first book. We see how absolutely wonderful he can be in this one as well as we see Stella having to deal with a lot. There are times that you absolutely love the scene and times that they will make you cry. The journey we take with these two will have you absolutely pulled in and keep you glued to it. I loved the twists and turns this story takes. I also loved how it ends. This story is fantastic and absolutely a must read.
This is the second book in the duet and does not disappoint. Stella is pregnant with no memories after what happened at the end of book one. Very slowly she starts to get her memories back and also starts to trust Aleksei again, but should she? Can they get to a place where they can be together? Also will Bobik get to walk? or be bound to a wheelchair in seclusion for the rest of his life. Will she be able to forgive him for the things that he has done? Good read.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
If you don’t care about logic in a plot, read it. Half of the first book is unnecessary even for the author, cause she ignores almost everything during the second book. It looks like the author forgot what she wrote on the first one. The FC is totally passive in a way that doesn't match what the author wants to convey about the character. It lacks continuity amongst the events, the characters traits, the plot, everything. If you just want to read something to pass time, be my guest, but don’t wait quality.
A beautiful love love built on forgiveness and redemption. This book answers all the unresolved questions from the first book. Trust and truth is the way to first over. Each person had to deal with confronting themselves through forgiveness before seeking it or asking other for it. With the plots and the characters involved the author laid out a plan for the world to see how it can actually happen. Hat off to Ms Lovell for a job well done.
Her memory is gone but Stella knows there's something about the handsome man who says he is the father of her baby that scares her. As the days pass and memory returns can she come to terms with the truth and stay or run. I really enjoyed this book. The ending really helped to bring the two books together and give us an ending full of love and happiness
What a rush! this sequel had my emotions all over the place and had me connecting with Stella whose life is one hot mess. Will she be able to maneuver her relationship with Alekesi and when the memories return what will happen between them. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
I absolutely loved this book with all the twists, many surprises, so many emotions. Stella has such a big heart and she is so intelligent. Aleksei will do anything for those he cares about. I loved how I was able to feel what the characters were experiencing I wasn’t able to stop turning these pages.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is book 2 and what a book it was. I thought the first book in this duet was good but this one just beat my expectations. I felt sad, happy, teary eyed and excited throughout this book. The characters within as well as the storyline is truly remarkable. Well done.
He unalived her father, and her mom died as a result. Not a single ‘I’m’ sorry, not a morsel of groveling, nada. No effort on his part. And she just forgave him? Just like that?
The timelines were poorly designed, the story dragged. I wanted to like it but there were very few redeeming qualities. I would’ve DNFd but I’m a completionist and was plot committed.

Typically mafia romance books are fairly shallow, similar, lacking the depth of most fantasy novels. This duet took me off guard with the absolute depth, twists, shocking revelations and resolutions. I don’t feel anything was left out but I do feel overwhelmed. Wow!
Read the first book and loved it and this second book was just as good. The story about his mother now that I shed tears over especially when Aleksei found her. This story was really good and well worth a read I mean once you've read the first book you've just got to read this haven't you. 🩷
I didn’t love this duet. So many words for so little outcome. Plus it felt like a Duolingo lesson. There is a place for a bit of Russian for bratva book, but Lordy…. When I have to google translate 32 phrases, it’s a bit much.
Also, it might be “lite mafia” but a little more violence isn’t uncalled for.
Please check all CW and TW before continuing with this one. Stella's life has definitely become a complicated mess. Over protectiveness makes her feel suffocated. But the way that Aleksei works to help her regain her memories was kinda sweet. But the secrets might pull them apart.
I will say that this 2 book is as good as the 1st. The writing is outstanding and doesn't jump into a sudden need for characters to be in turmoil. Love the slow build and developing storyline. 5 out of 5 stars.
What emotions, this book invokes! Compelling layers upon layers, take the reader on a transformative journey. Deeply engrossing characters! You will be hanging on to each word. Thank you, Lisa Lovell..💖
omg I could not put down this book. Loved the story line and all the twists. Not your typical Bratva story line, which made it a better read. I’m definitely a fan of Lisa Lovell now!!!
Stella & Alexski's story is full of ups and downs twists and turns. I was so invested it only took me 2 days to read both books. I just couldn't put them down. Another fantastic read from Lisa Lovell Can't wait for the next
Wow the twists and turns this book has but it all makes everything complete somehow.. loved both books.. Lisa is a very talented author, can wait to see what else she’s got.
Porcelain Vows is book two of Tarasov Bratva, and all that tangled and twisted plot in the first book unravels in this story. They worked their way from betrayal, trauma, and forgiveness to profound love and healing. It was a wonderful story that left me in tears for happiness at the end.
