I thought the book was a nice starter read for those who are interested in investing in commercial real estate. He goes over the different types of commercial property, real estate investing methods, types of lease agreements (I prefer the triple net lease agreements).
It was a brief yet substantive enough to explain the ins and outs of commercial RE investing and how to properly identify a good deal or a bad deal and how to manage a property through effective due diligence and accountability measures.
A great book to spark your interest in commercial real estate. Short and to the point. A few grammatical mistakes, but you do have to give the author credit for writing his own book (considering his profession is real estate and not a professional author). I appreciate and value the exercises provided by the author to train the reader to evaluate potential investments. I will definitely apply lessons learned from this book to future investments.
This book is a great book for beginner real estate investors. It gives a good framework and lot of reasonable advice. However, beware, real estate is not easy. Many things will go wrong and many things will take much more time and money. Dont buy a property after reading this book. Be calm, read more real estate and investment books, learn about your real estate market and then start investing.
This book is more motivational than practical hands on experience. The deal analysis examples and due diligence sections were really informative but the majority of the book was getting you excited about the idea of getting into commercial real estate.
This was actually a really great read. Rekindled my desire to own commercial rental properties and create a better life for myself and my family. Here's to taking action today!
This book has good guidance for the upcoming commercial property investor. I like that Peter use examples to show different scenarios of how to structure deals.
There’s a ton of books out there similar to this one, and little differentiates this one. I tend to look for books that cover the challenges as well as the opportunities in balance - and this one is on the too positive side. A basic introduction.
Great book, some very useful information and strategies, even though I’m in a different market to the US. I just wish the author had gotten someone else to read the audiobook; he trips over his words and has trouble getting them out, and it’s a bit off putting.
I was looking for a basic, simple book that breaks down some core area of COM, in an effort to provide new colleagues and associates with a starting point. This will be an easy handout for them to get started.
Great intro book for people interested in commercial real estate. It is short and it covers a lot of important topics, but it is written at a level that anyone can understand.
Awesome read and loved the examples given! Really helped me analyze different commercial properties and the terminology. Very good book for a beginner!
Very easy and fairly entertaining read that gave a few thoughtful insights into the commercial investing world. I feel that I gained enough info to start doing my own research and basic analysis
Great free intro from Peter Harris's squeeze page. In addition to this PDF, he has a 2+hour YouTube audio book version. I learned a lot of terms and formulas that I didn't know before. Thanks, Peter!
