Bite Me: Put Some Teeth into Politics

Rate this book
Just Another Floridan Day
As the head of the Seagrass Party (Independent), Ava's quit her marine biology job for a career in politics, fighting to protect Florida's flora and fauna as the head of the Seagrass Party (Independent) and running against Florida's current governor, Don DeSatan (Republican). Since life's not content with that amount of chaos, she also has to deal with a sentient great white shark walking up onto the beach. (Yes, you read that correctly. A sentient. Great white. Shark.)

The shark-woman demands to speak to the person in charge and it doesn't take rocket science levels of intelligence to see that Don DeSatan sees this as an opportunity to make history as the first person to talk to an intelligent shark. As he focuses on his own legacy though, the shark-woman realizes that he's not interested in helping the environment or keeping promises. One throat-rip later (DeSatan will absolutely be in the history books now, lucky him) and the shark-woman is looking for a new politician to partner with... except that no one who saw her brutal attack on DeSatan is willing to work with her.

Except Ava.

Will Ava and the shark-woman become co-governors of Florida, leading the state to a better future? Or will Ava be a delicious snack?

Hey ya'll, read this! Bite Me is the 7th stand-alone novella in the 2024 Leap Into Novellas collection.

Florida man, Florida woman, slightly paranormal politics, political satire, sharks, shark attack, blood in the political waters, comedy, punch up not down.

CoffeeQuills is the online handle and pen name of an author who quaffs coffee and loves quills of all types! (Hedgehogs, writing tools, and cinnamon sticks). Born in the Sunshine State, this Floridian (yes, they proudly admit to being a Floridian), now lives in Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun, and has traded gators for earthquakes. They enjoy reading a wide range of books and writing genre mashups (for example, post-nuclear apocalypse cozy mysteries), which led to the slogan "Many Genres ~ Many Quills." (Their other slogan is Apocalyptically Optimistic since friends and family have said they're most likely to find an apocalypse's bright side.)

Currently, Coffee writes narration for 4thewords (an RPG for writers!), works on their own novels, and challenges themselves throughout the year with NaNoWriMo, The Writer's Games, Game of Tomes, 31 Days 31 Stories, World Ember, and all the special events within 4thewords. They and their writing can be found all over the internet, so check out the links here: https://coffeequills.carrd.co/

Have a great day, and may the words you read and/or write flow well!
