In Deep #2

In Deeper

Rate this book
This is book 2 of the 'In Deep' series, which needs to be read in order.

Life is damned short. I know this… I’ve seen it all around me for as long as I can remember. People die for all kinds of reasons, and some of them die for the bad choices they make.

Some of them die by my hand.

I was only living for one thing, one goal, one endgame… until I saw Brielle. And when I touched her, it was all over for me, I just didn’t know it yet. Yeah, what I did to her was unforgivable. I know that now. Some part of me knew it then, too, but it didn’t matter. I had to hold on to her. I would have done anything to keep her… and I did. I’m probably a little messed up in the head. How could I not be, after the life I’ve led? The one I was born into?

Now I’ve put her in danger, dragged her into my world, and I don’t know whether to push her away or hold her tighter. Letting her go would be the right thing to do… but every time I try to do the right thing… I can’t. I’m in too deep…

I gave this a perfect score bc of the H. He was everything I want in an alpha male. He was super possessive, crazy jealous, dominant, and so desperate for the h. He was addicted to her and actually had withdrawal symptoms when he is not with her. My absolute favorite part was that the H is utterly devastated during the times they break up. I liked that the h was upset but still went about her daily tasks while the H is an emotional wreck. I never doubted the H's devotion to the h. He kills for her many times. He also hits guys that flirt with her. His jealousy scenes, and there are many, were so GOOD. Basically, he is a stalkerific H, which is right up my alley. I haven't read a H like this in such a long time, I had given up hope of ever finding another one. Plus, he never abuses the h. Too many stories nowadays have a dark H who is abusive bc of his messed up past. The H is this story had a very dark past but he was fantastic with the h. I do want to point out a warning where the H kisses another woman to push the h away. There were some dangerous people in the restaurant who will hurt whoever the H cares about to get to him. The woman he kisses is not given a name or dialogue. It is a very brief scene and the H is crushed. He pushes her away many times but the separation never lasts more than 2 days. Other than that minor grievance, the couple do not date or sleep with other people.

I wanted to read more books by this author but she only has paranormal or historical books which are generes I do not enjoy. I certainly hope Ms. McKinnon continues to write more contemporary books and such incredible heroes. Maybe even giving the sister's brother his own story.

40% another one bites the dust. I can't take it any longer. I'm not even going to skim to the end and see what happens.
All they have done is have sex and argue so far. Every other page they fight and walk away from each other only later to be back so they can have sex. I wish I could say it was good sex but it's not. He just gets in and gets out. Hahaha!!!

I went straight from the first book to the second because I just had to know how Criss and Brie were doing. Just when I thought these two couldn’t have my emotions all over the place I was proved very wrong. This book is definitely one that kept me on my toes from start to finish. Sometimes I wanted to be so mad at Brie for just going straight back to Criss but other times I was pulling for them to make it. This book does that to you makes you think one thing one minute and something completely different the next. Once I found out everything Criss had been through I understood him a lot better and I could understand where he was coming from with certain decisions he made. There were so many times in this book I wanted to scream at CRISS!!!! AHHHHH he made my blood pressure go through the roof. But once again when everything was explained I could understand where he was coming from and he was a wonderful man. Yes he is still a controlling alpha man that did not change at all. I loved the relationship with these two. When most people would have given up these two continued to fight for each other every step of the way. Of course they went through hard times and it took them a while to get there but once they did it was amazing. I took a chance on this series and I am so glad I did. It was a fantastic series and I look forward to more from the author. Hopefully a book about Brie’s brother Jake!!!

This book was CRAZY! I liked it a lot, but Chriss is certifiable yet forgivable and so so alpha sexy! Most of the time I want to slap him and then scream but then am secretly glad when he is reunited with Brie. These two are combustible and make one crazy, sexy couple. It would be interesting to see just one more book in this series, but I loved how it all came together.

This is the second and last book in the series and I absolutely loved it. We pick up right where we left off in the first book, with Brielle and Criss coming back from Mexico. Criss has let Brie go, for her own safety, but we know he will not stay away from her for long. They are fated to keep going back to each other, regardless of what has happened. Brie keeps bouncing back to the seedy hotel a couple of blocks from the strip and Criss keeps pulling her back to the Adagio.

Kella writes these characters with such truth and honesty, that it just draws you into the story and doesn't let you go until the very end. I finally get answers for most of the questions that I had, about how he was involved with Brie's family and the death of her Father. We also learn how he has been going about dismantling the Cartel from the inside out. Sure, some of his methods are extreme, but I also believe that he is doing what he has to do in order to survive this nightmare that was forced upon him from a very early age.

Criss makes some stupidly arrogant mistakes that finally cause Brie to break things off with him, but in the end, he is that little boy that was never loved and he is trying to take care of what he has and what he now knows he wants in his life - a forever family. Criss is a very sexy alpha male, but can he be big enough to show his vulnerability to Brie in time to win her back. Sometimes, even when we think we could never forgive a major hurt that has been done to us, we find the strength to follow our hearts and do what is right for all involved. You really need to take this roller coaster ride and see what all the fuss is about.

We pick up in this book (immediately if you are like me) knowing some of what makes Cristos who he is and why he is doing what he is. But still having the love/hate of why oh why does he treat Brielle that way! In this book their relationship continues to evolve and epitomizes the idea of on/off again relationships. Interestingly enough it is here that I do not enjoy Brielle at times b/c with her not knowing all of his demons, but knowing her background I was shocked that she kept coming back to him.

Obviously the story would not work if she did not keep going back/accepting him back, but I was thrown b/c in everything else she is so independent and strong-willed, but in regards to Cristos she seems to back down or give him A LOT of leeway. Partly that could be due to the intense nature of their attraction and relationship, which again Kella does a superb job of conveying and bringing to life to us readers. Brielle's brother becomes more of the storyline here and he is fantastic. Gruff, loving big brother and law enforcement. The way he is depicted I could visualize the struggles on his face and life over Brielle, Cristos, the background issues, etc.

Cristos does a HUGE no no in this book, but it leads to some interesting discoveries. I was not surprised by the result (in fact it was the one time I was like well this is what will happen), but the story telling of it was descriptive and well timed. Then we get to the ending and it is just what we want (though somewhat cheesy on the last page:)-!)

~~
So if you can't tell from how much I wrote on this book, I am a fan of it. I know I will be checking more works from Kella McKinnon and I do recommend this 2 part series for those of you who like romance with a bit of an action/thriller background.

Brielle went to her suite at the Adagio and started packing her things. Brielle went to see Mr. Staton about a job. She was planning to stay with Jake while she worked on the grants, she hoped to get in order to start her work in Honduras. She thought that it would be the perfect chance to find Jake a girlfriend. While she was working she kept getting felt up by a man, Criss showed up and punched the guy and carried her out over his shoulder. Criss could barely drive the car because he wanted Brielle so bad. He told her that he didn't want to leave him again. He told her that he doesn't want her working anywhere where another man can look at or touch her. Brielle and Criss kept getting into fights about Criss keeping secrets from her. Do Criss and Brielle work things out? Does Criss tell Brielle his secrets.
Brielle got a job at a club, she can't stop thinking about Cristos. She is a very talented person. she was surprised that she still had a job after what happend with Cristos.Mr. Stanton is Brielle's new boss. Alexis is Brielle's friend and invites her places. Jake is Brielle's older brother, doesn't like Cristos. Cristos keeps messing up with Brielle. He follows her or has her followed.
This is the second book in the series In Deep Kella McKinnon is an amazing author and I can't wait to read more of her books. I loved Kella's style of writing, I loved that I was drawn into the story from the first page . I also loved how well the characters were developed. I also loved the story line. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

This is the sequel to IN DEEP. The series has to be read in order.

Brielle and Cristos are still trying to working on each other. Even though Cristos loves Brielle, there is a lot he still has not confided in her. He is nervous that it will end them. Brielle has her doubts about their relationship especially since Cristos still will not kiss her. He claims to want her, but there is that one piece he still cannot give her.

The premise was there, but a lot of the inner dialogue from the heroine could have been deleted. There was a lot of detail that really was not necessary to the story. Some of it actually made me think how immature the heroine was. I think a lot of authors feel that extra detail about what the character likes to drink, what they likes to eat, etc. makes readers connect to them when actually it makes me what to skim. Less is more.

Nonetheless, I felt more connected to the characters in the sequel than I did in the first book, IN DEEP. Like I mentioned a lot of the inner dialogue could have been eliminated. Beta readers are usually the most helpful with these type of edits. I want to add, once I started reading, I could not stop. However, I felt Cristos’s guilt over friend was a little weak. I completely understood Brielle’s reasons for leaving her family.

It starts off right where the first one ended and I liked that.
In this book we learn a lot more about Criss and how he operates. We also see that he gets a lot more possessive then in the first book. Which I don’t necessary agree with in a man. I like a nice Alpha male as much as the next woman but I think they he went a bit too far. There were a few things I did not agree with at all. No matter how messed up his childhood was, that is no excuse for some of the things he is doing or has done.

Book two is pure brilliance and amazing. I won’t go into the details of what happens in this book because quite frankly I don’t want to spoil it for you. Let me just say the author did a wonderful job at giving us two characters that in the end will break your heart, build you back up and replenish your hope in the power of love and acceptance. If I had to describe the general theme in this story it would be balance, the balance between good versus evil, love versus hate, and fear versus trust. Each had to find a way to get over the insecurities and pain and balance it with the love and dedication they discovered with each other.

We learn more about the broken soul of Cristos and the spirit that is trying to fight through his fear of past hurt and regret to find the freedom to love and be loved by Bri. His techniques in keeping her have always been questionable, but the author is finally letting us see that he is doing the best he can under the knowledge he possess from growing up in his highly dysfunctional family. Normal was never even on the radar for him, assurance, trust, love all either foreign or used as weapons against him to manipulate him into actions that he would have never dreamed he could do. He was a product of being raised in a family of greed, hate and no morality. Bri was not only the woman who could save him, she was the ray of light at the end of his dark tunnel he called life.

Bri just seemed to know what he needed. Even as the secrets came out and the truth was exposed, she never just threw her hands up and ran. She stood firm, she crumbled when she needed too, and she stood back up and became determined once again to set forth on what she believed in, which was Cristos. I read many books a year and I have to give the 2014 miracle worker award to Bri in this series. I would have walked, no I would have run as far from him as I could numerous times.

There are so many dramas and emotionally filled moments in this book, it kills me to not just dive into talking about all of them. As their lives change and extended family becomes involved, I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the rug to be pulled and leave me in a heap of shattered emotions. Since I am limited as to what I can say about the book let me leave you with this. I found this series to be one of the few that is built on raw emotions, horrid past lives of the characters and the true definition of forgiveness and acceptance being offered AND received. Bri enhanced the personality that I believe was Cristos only salvation in life. She was the example of what he lacked growing up while he gave her the tools she needed to recover from her father’s death. Strange bed partners indeed but the author was fabulous at showing us how it could work and I highly recommend this series.

In Deeper.

In Deeper is the second book in the series. You need to of read the first book "In Deep" before you read this book because In Deeper starts off right where the first book finished.
Criss and Brie are not together. Criss let her go for her own good and safety. However they neither wants to be apart from each other and both keep coming back to the places they know the other will be.
I loved Criss and I felt sorry for him in the first book and I still felt sorry for him in this book aswel. I completly understand that he made some stupid mistakes and he can be completely arragent, but I could see pasted his cocky persona and see him for what he really was. He was just a lost boy who was never loved and who has had a hard life. He doesn't know how to show love or be loved properly because he's never experienced . It is truely heartbreaking. Once you fully understand Criss and his history you can't help but love him and take away all the pain he's had in his life and you just want him to be happy and be with Brie because that's what makes him happy. I loved that we got to see more of Criss's vaunerable side in book 2. I felt gir him and could feel the strength it took him to try to change for Brie and show her his other side. It really was a rollercoaster for Criss in book 2 and for the reader. I was emotionally drained reading book 2. Will Criss be able to win Brie back, beat all obstacles in the way and live happily ever after together?
I loved book 2 even more than book 1. I loved finding more out about Criss and seeing different sides to him. Brie was strong throughout and tried her hardest to stay strong and stay away but you could understand why she wa finding it so hard.
The characters in the book were developed brilliantly. The author did a brilliantly job at creating such honest, interesting, multi layered characters. The author did amazing at creating characters with do many sides to their personalities that you got a well rounded knowledge of each character. I loved that the author kept you guessing right to the end what was going to happen. I got all the answers that I needed by the end of the book and I was very happy with how the author ended the book.
This was a very good series that I will be recommending to my friends. I loved the authors writing style and how she captured me in to the story. I'll defintly be reading more of her books in the future.
Great book 2 and a great series.

Again, the Fifty Shades déjà vu, but fewer this time. I also liked this book so much better than the first, because this is where everything went down: the action, the secrets, the conflict—everything.

In Deep ended right in the middle of everything, and I can’t start In Deeper fast enough just so I won’t have to be tortured about what happened next. It started right where In Deep ended. I lost precious sleep over this book, and I’m so pleased that I am not disappointed with how things worked out in the end.

I liked Brielle and Cristos’s chemistry. This is where Cristos has toughened his resolve to get involved with Brie completely, though his past and other issues are conflicting with it, which is a total bummer.
I still haven’t decided if I liked Brielle. It seemed like there is not much to learn about her, since there is no big revelation about her character. I like my heroine mysterious, too, and I always enjoy it when they have something to surprise me with.

Cristos is the biggest mystery. It seemed like he gets more messed up in the head as the book progresses, but it I am satisfied with how the author pulled off his character. Despite his really weird messed up ideas, the resolution in the end justified it, I think. He surprised me with his biggest deception stunt, which has to be the most messed up idea in the history of messed up alpha males. Still, he’s realized it all in the end so…yeah.

One thing I’m disappointed about, though: the falling action. The ending felt rushed, and I think the last conflict wasn’t really necessary. It just gave the ending the impression of being rushed. I could have done without it.

Final verdict: I liked the plot, the rising action, and the resolution. I’m not fond of the climax and the falling action. The way things went down in this book made the first book (somewhat) unnecessary. This is where things got really interesting and almost everything is here, so I felt like In Deeper could have done without In Deep.

2 Crazy Train Stars

In Deeper, much like the first book of this series, proved a bit hard for me to review. In the end it just didn’t live up to expectation with how enthralled I was with book one. Essentially I enjoyed how the characters ended up in the end but the means by which they go there just went wrong somewhere for me.

Elements of this story really drew me to the characters. An alpha, player, damaged male meets the head strong female he can’t get out of his mind from which an inferno begins to burn. Something quite alluring held me captive with these two characters. I liked their fire, their will, their restraint, and their freedom together as a unit. It’s something neither of them expected nor wanted to fully accept. The relationship develops even more quickly in book two making the plot a bit farfetched and wonky for my tastes. While the characters I found most intriguing, even the decisions I didn’t agree with, the plot working beneath their personas didn’t always work for me. Events took place I didn’t follow or see the importance of while I just couldn’t believe some of the others. Acts of pure desperation I understand but didn’t feel the honesty in the desperation. If you know what I mean in the difference.

The writing kept me rooting for these two though even while it got a bit choppy in some of the dialogue. Reading from both the hero and heroine’s points of view gave us a deeper look into the two of them, I think that’s why I wasn’t totally appalled because we got to read some of the motivations. If you like alpha males, a lot of passion, and a super crazy ride to the HEA – In Deeper will work for you.

My review is going to be the same for both books (In Deep & In Deeper) as they go closely together and it was just one continuous story.

If you like a TOTAL alpha male and a lot of sex..you'll probably like this. Unfortunately for me it was a TAD too much. It kind of reminded me of Fifty shades (without the whips and chains). Posessive, mysterious, rich, hot, domineering alpha male and the pushover girl.
It was trying to be portrayed that Brie was tough and stood up for herself but more often than not she let Criss push her around and control her life.

That being said, the books still captivated me. I still kept going back to read a bit more whenever I had a minute. ( I just rolled my eyes at some parts when Brie was being a total doormat...and skimmed when they were having sex for the 1200th time).

There was a lot of back and forth like they're together then broken up together broken up but still I kept going back for more and needed to see how things played out.

I liked the side characters in the book and I did enjoy that there was some parts from Criss' POV although I kinda of wished for more.

The last chunk of the second book makes up for a lot of the downfall. I liked the ending. Criss could be super sweet so sometimes was hard to stay mad at him when he was being an asshole lol.

Overall it wasn't my favorite book but I did like it. May even read them again.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review-Thank you Kella!

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!! WHAT A BOOK!!! This book leaves off right where book one leaves off. I finished this a couple days ago and it has literally taken me this long to even attempt to write a review for it. And truthfully I have no clue how to put my feelings into words. I was so sucked into this one from the very first sentence and through absolutely every little or big (in some cases) twists and turns the author throws at us. We learn a whole lot more about Cristos and even more about the oh so sexy, possessive alpha male he is. Goodness gracious I am not going to give you any details because I don't want to spoil anything. I will say though that even though there were so many situations where I thought oh hell no would I forgive him, but then I think oh there is no way I wouldn't forgive him. This author has a real gift!! I can't believe I haven't read any of her books before this series. You can bet your sweet butt I will be reading anything else she has out and any of her future books. This book had it all and so much more. The sex scenes were panty dropping hot, and the characters were strong and vulnerable together. I just can't say enough good things about this one. Everyone seriously needs to read these books! You won't regret it I promise!! These will stay with me for a long time and deserves much more than just 5+++ AMAZEBALLS stars. A copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review. And although I received a gifted copy, they were so good, that I will be buying my own copies to show my support for this author.

Ah I loved this 2 book series. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I love finding a new author that shows real talent from the 1st page.

In deeper begins where "In deep" finished, with the on again, off again relationship that isn't a relationship between Criss and Brie.

Criss has shown his dominant side from very early in this story, and although we were given an insight into his life as a child, his horrible father and the drug trade that still affects him as a 35yr old, Brie has no idea.

His constant whiplash of I need you Brie, I can't be without you Brie, then its over, I don't reserve you.... Man I wanted to hate him so much, but then he would use his caveman tactics and Brie would take him back.

When her life becomes in serious danger, Criss has no choice but to tell Brie everything, and finally he does. But just when I thought everything was out in the open, one last massive personal piece of Cristos' plans puts an end to everything and Brie must make the ultimate decision that doesn't just affect her anymore.

I lived for the happy ending for Criss and Brielle, and at 85% my heart broke again and I thought there is no way they could sort all their drama and issues with such little time... I won't ruin the ending but it will have you on the end of your seat and may not be what you expect...

I loved the little quotes at the beginning of each chapter too.
Great series, looking forward to more from this author.

Brielle and Cristos’s story continues in In Deeper, part two of the In Deep series. If you loved part one, this will not disappoint you.

Once someone imbeds themselves in your heart, can you walk away for good? There are some choices that we must make, choices that are much harder than others. And walking away from the person you love is one of the toughest…

Cristos is working hard at what he does, to rid the world of his father’s sins. He is still obsessed with Brielle, and the two worlds mix as well as oil and water.

Brielle is finding out more and more about the man she is in love with. Will she be able to look past his father’s mistakes and forgive him?

There are elements in this second part that I did not see coming. Brielle is stronger than anyone, including herself, gives her credit for. She walks away from Criss and is forced to make some tough decisions on her own. I felt her pain; I’m not so sure I would be able to make the same choices.

Criss, I know you did what you did for a reason, but it make me want to punch you in the balls! He is the type of man who thinks of himself first. And after his past, who can blame him? But it comes back to bite him in the a*s, HARD!

The sex in this book is just as explosive as in part one. Yes, Criss used to be a man whore, but he should teach lessons! Ladies and Gents, grab a cold drink, a cold shower and someone to scratch your itch. You will need it… ~ Devlynn, 4 stars

In Deeper is the final instalment in a book series by the author Kella McKinnon. Like the first installment it is set in Las Vegas, and while the author never depicts the city of Sin at its worst, the storylines lets us know it’s there. The book is written from the perspective of Brie and Criss the main characters.

This story picks up right where the last one left off and let me say Thank God for that, we find out exactly what happened in Criss past, and of course because this is a love story Brie and Criss get back together again. (Then split then get back together then split…..you get the idea).

By the middle of the book Criss manipulations come home to roast and he almost loses Brie for good, but happily by the end we get the happy ending we all want in a good romance novel.

In this book we still had to put up Criss dominating personality though the author managed to show him in light that made us see the scared little boy he once was and you just kept falling in love with him despite his being the bad guy essentially. We get conformation of just what kind of business he is running and what his long term goals are and more importantly we find out why he’s doing it.

The series wraps up nicely and I was very pleased with the ending again I recommend this book to anyone who like a good romance novel with an Alpha male thrown in as I could seem to put it down till I had finished it.

I give this one 5 stars as well!
The characters in this one are the same as the first book, In Deep. I did like that we get to see more of Brielle's brother, Jake in this book. He is a big part in her life, and I was happy to see his character more in this one. I still love Brielle and Cristos. Although Cristos does make me mad in this book. You will understand his reasons to why he does the things he does. More things happen in this book, more on Cristos' past and what he does. I had an idea of what he did in the firs bookt, but in this one, you get to experience it on a deeper level. I has happy Brielle put her foot down, and made Cristos tell her more about himself.
I really enjoyed reading this book and its one of those book to where you either love it or hate it. There isnt any middle ground. I've always enjoyed reading about alpha males and their cave man ways.
I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good read and one that will keep you guessing until the end. I was really nervous about how this book would end, but I was very pleased how Kella ended it. The only thing else I can say is, just go get this series. I promise you will not regret buying it! Well worth the money!
Oh and one last thing, there are hot scenes as well so that's always a great thing! ;-)

In Deeper by Kella McKinnon

3.5 Stars

So, carrying on from where book one ended, Brie finds herself back in the dump of a hotel and on the search for a job. With the help of her friend Lexi the job hunt goes well, but on her first night as a trainee waitress Criss turns up with his macho ways and literally carries her out of the place because he doesn’t want any other man to even look at her. Yes, the pair still have their irritating behaviour traits! … his control, her acceptance of it … and I still struggled to connect with them even after a couple of weeks break from these characters.

This instalment follows the pair as they want to be together, know they shouldn’t be but can’t resist the pull anyway. Criss is unsure if Brie’s feelings are real or if she is working for someone to get close to him and spy on him. Secrets are a plenty and the mistrust is palpable.

The story moves along and isn’t stagnant and there is enough to keep the reader interested. I wish I was more invested in the characters personally, but that could just be me and the mood I’m in right now. I certainly wouldn’t write this series off, if you are looking for a romance with intrigue then give this one a shot.

Review for In Deep and In Deeper

Amazingly awesome read. This series was so full of everything you want in a book. The writing was off the charts good. The characters and the story totally engaging from page one of In Deep to the last page of In Deeper. I didn't want to stop for a second to cook dinner or go to sleep. It became my focused mission to fall into the lives of Brielle and Bristol and this roller coaster love the take you on.

This book was full of mystery, intrigue, suspense, lust, love, heartbreak, redemption. With every chapter you were taken on another turn with a twist that just hooked you more. The story the passion the intrigue and the cast of characters along with the electrifying action provides a fast paced plot that never lets you down or lose you for a minute. It's not too much but just right.

These two books were spot on doing the perfect job of keeping you engaged in the story in the characters. That is what a book is supposed to do. Suck you in and not allow you up for air even after the book ends.

Read these books. You will not be disappointed for a minute.

Review of In Deeper (In Deep #2) by Kella McKinnon

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 ½ out of 5 stars

In Deeper is part 2 of the In Deep series. It continues right where book 1 left off.

Criss has broken up with Brie again. He is so back and forth I think my neck hurts. Criss is gorgeous and very in love with Brie but he just can’t see that he is worthy of her love.

Brie does everything she can to show Criss how much she loves him and that he can trust her. She is almost had enough of his indecision though.

With everyone in danger, Criss does what he thinks he needs to do to keep everyone safe; including making a decision for without Brie knowing that will change her life forever.

I really loved Criss even though his on and off again was driving me crazy. He was romantic, passionate and very sexy.

Brie was great as well but I found her a little bit too naïve.

I really enjoyed this series but thought the dangerous scenes needed to be a little more in depth to get a little more angst out of them. The scenes just seemed to work themselves out a little bit too easily.

I definitely recommend this series. It was great!

5 KISSY STARS

Cristos Vicario is a take-no-prisoners man. He has what he wants. But what happens when he lets go Brielle Dalton? An anthropologist that has Cristos addicted. An addiction he can't stop succumbing to. A feeling that runs deeper than a shag...

Brielle Dalton is an anthropologist that played with fire and fell for the dark bad boy that won't kiss her. He's hot and cold. But why happens when you already know you have fallen in love? A feeling that prevails in Cristos darkness.

Cristos and Brielle are just hot. They have this sexy thing going on. Cristos is a jealous alpha that thinks of nothing other than between Brielle 's thighs. Yes, he's a man. Brielle melts like butter at his hands. Cristos is determined and controlling. Brielle is independent. Two stubborn heads, one sizzling make up sex. This is one of my favorite alpha series. Cristos is like Christian, Gideon, Dorian, Knight and Jesse. It's really good. The author gave me both books of the series as ARCs. I don't regret at all reading them.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for MNP.

Cristo is a very bad boy and will not stop to get what he wants. He is destined to make sure Brielle is his forever. He made up his mind and formed a plan. Cristo is almost done with his plan so he can be free from his past, only a few more people stand in his way. He knows her every move when she is away from him but they can't be separate people. Together they are much better, apart they are a mess. The two of them become one and Brielle begins to have a sixth sense about what is going on. But we'll find out if Cristo can be saved from the past or will it consume him once and for all.

Brielle and Christo have a game of cat and mouse. He pushes her away and then pulls her back and she does the same. With both POV's, it is helpful to see how each person is thinking and what is going on. This was a well written book that went quickly. The end of this book, kept me wanting to find out more. Highly recommend! Lindsey, reviewer for MNP

In Deeper is the second and final book in this series. At the end of book one, In Deep, Cristos had ended his relationship with Brielle. Without her knowledge, she was being pulled into his dangerous world. If the wrong people found out she was his weakness, Brielle would no longer be safe. He did what he felt was right but what was he going to do now? He just couldn't seem to function without her.
As I read this amazingly well written story, I could clearly see how impossible their relationship was and yet, I couldn't stop myself from being completely consumed.
This series is a compelling, sizzling, irresistible, intense read! I was sad when the books ended because I too, fell in love with Cristos.

In Deeper is the second book in the series by Kella McKinnon.
This books off right where book one finished. Christos lets Brie go for her own safety but somehow the pair are still drawn to each other and they path still cross. Christos get even more alpha male in this books. You get to learn a lot more about Christos in this book and there are lots of up and downs for his character. The author does a great job and developing the characters in the story and bringing out the emotions and feelings of the characters. As with the first book the sex scenes are hot and explosive.
The story is well written and like the first book I was hooked from the start and we finally get to the bottom of the secrets and questions that were left unanswered from book 1.
Overall a great series and I will be looking to read other books by the author. A great hot, sexy intense story.

This book is the sequel to In Deep and I recommend the story is read in order. It picks up right where book 1 left off and Cristos and Brielle are in for a whirlwind. While I don't find these situations to be extremely realistic the book is still a great read! You find deceit, deception, drug lords, twisted love, heartbreaks and a happily-ever after.

Cristos is still trying to escape the drug cartel but the harder he tries to hid this from Brielle, the more they are divided. Brie is well aware that Cristos has his secrets and rules but the real question is how long will she wait for Cristos to be ready to share these things with her. Things eventually come to a head and blow up. Then there are twists, turns, kidnappings, betrayal, and unplanned-unexpected events that will leave your jaw on the floor. In the end will Cristos be able to cut his ties from the cartel in time to savage his relationship? Check out this book to find out!

This book picks up right where book one leaves off, only this book is twice as intense in my opinion. Criss's character in this book is more developed, you can see why he does what he does and how certain actions from his past make him the sexy alpha male that he is today. Now there are times his actions are less then satisfactory but he makes up for them easily. I love how the author showed us his weaknesses. When he breaks in this book it literally rips out the readers heart, to see a strong man fall is a truly something that has the ability to effect everyone. There are times when you want to shake him and tell him to straighten out. Now Brielle truly comes into her character in this book. She stands up for herself when needed, she also becomes the perfect person for Criss. Now I will say there are some OMG moments in this book and I would recommend reading book one first. Just make sure you read them, this is a series you don't want to miss.
