Laura has lost her job as an accountant at a law firm she worked at for 10 years. She takes her time looking for a new position, when reading (BDSM) Erotica leads her to a BDSM site and the ad for a submissive legal assistant.
Mr. Hobbs is boss, alpha male, and sexy Dom all rolled into one. He has Laura come in for an interview, and he's very intrigued by her, even though she is obviously an untrained submissive that has a wee bit of trouble following orders! Not to worry, Mr. Hobbs is more than a happy to correct the little subbie!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great BDSM Fantasy read, being a submissive in the lifestyle myself, there were things about this book that told me the author did her research. A couple of things really stood out to me.
This line for instance.
"Do you realize the being a submissive is a set of personality traits as opposed to a practice?"
Nailed it!
This next paragraph made me laugh out loud, mainly because it's so true!
"So you think you're a submissive because you've read 50 Shades of Gray and got a little turned on? Do you think that makes you and half the sex-starved housewives in Nebraska submissives?"
Mr. Hobbs shows Laura what happens to naughty subs that don't follow orders.. and OMG... it was HAWT!!

This was a short quick read that I liked and wished it was longer. Laura Hobbs has lost her job as a legal secretary and while searching for a new place to work, reads BDSM books. While reading BDSM books she happens to find an add looking for an administrative assistant in a law firm. This book was hot. Laura fills out the application and sends in the full-length picture of herself that is also required. There were also a lot of BDSM-type questions to answer. She gets the interview based on her 15 years of experience as a legal assistant. Philip Dunbar is hot, alpha dominant lawyer. He is a bad boy, and wants the perfect submissive assistant. I really liked this book and wanted more. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This book dabbles in BDSM and when I say dabbles I mean just that. The story is so short that there really isn't time to get any real bang for your buck, so to speak. The main character is a recently unemployed legal secretary who applies for a job on a BDSM site as a submissive legal secretary. The applicant is a newbie to the world of BDSM and doesn't really know if she is a submissive.
During the interview things get hot and steamy, including punishment for the disobedience of wearing panties. Apparently she was informed not to wear any during her screening for the interview.
Is this even legal? You would think a lawyer would be more concerned about retaining his good standing with the bar, than a quick f$%k during an interview. Well, This is usually the time when I tell you to read the book to find out what happens next, but after the spanking and a good sex scene the book is just about over. Move along, nothing more to see here... Oh she gets the job.

I received the book for my honest review.
This was the first time I have read anything by this author and I hope to read more in the future. This review I admit is rather late with life getting in the way for me so with that said I am truly sorry to the author.
This book was not the expectation that I would have loved to went into. The first few chapters though even capturing my attention didn't hold it as well I expected. The characters were very appealing but something wasn't there. I look for a POP in each read so don't get me wrong when I say there were several that one that blows you out of the water wasn't there at least for me.
The book was really sexy and hot so grab some ice.
The characters were engaging to points and not to others. Hence the 4 stars.
I wish this author a great future in her writing and hope to read more in the future.

I must say this -- it isn't often that a SHORT leaves me with no questions asked. The writing, clear knowledge of what was being written about, and sheer word choice didn't disappoint! That I truly appreciated!
Premise: Laura responds to an ad for a submissive legal secretary although she has no experience like the ad requests. She definitely gets more than what was expected upon her interview. I can only imagine what this series has to offer.
Hot, steamy and definitely NOT what I expected.

This story was about a young woman who incurred downsizing by another firm. She notices an advertisement on- line for a "submissive legal assistant." Having an interest in B.D.S.M. lifestyle but not sure if she is truly a submissive she applied for the position and was contacted immediately for an interview. The interview was not what she was expecting, but a whole lot more! It was a quick, easy read. I was hoping not to find myself reading novella's but sometimes it is meant to be.

What a HOT READ! I loved it. Wish I could find a Sir like that!

She begins to analyze what has gone right and wrong with her past romantic relationships and realizes that she likes when a man takes charge. She still remembers with distaste that it took one guy three dates to work up the courage to kiss her. UGH! While reading BDSM books she happens to find an add looking for an administrative assistant in a law firm.
It also states that the applicant should be a submissive legal assistant.

The receptionist is model gorgeous. Laura, not so much. She is definitely too curvy. Just as she is about to get up and leave, she looks up and there he is, Phillip Dunbar, L.L.D. She follows him back deep into the offices and to his office for the interview.
He sees her as a defiant submissive. After a bit of questioning, she slips up again. Punishment time.
This is a short but sizzling hot story. LOVED every bit of it! I hope there will be follow on stories to this one. I will be looking for more of Silk Jone's books. GREAT READ!

I got this book free on Instafreebie and gave it a try and WOW I was not disappointed, it left me wanting more. Laura like many woman now a days is intrigued about the BDSM lifestyle, so she takes time researching this lifestyle reading a lot on this subject. One day she find an ad in a BDSM magazines. The ad is a job position on a Law Firm for a submissive legal assistant, having just lost her job as a legal secretary she find herself applying for the job. The application has a lot of questions regarding BDSM, she has no experience in that only her desire to give it a try but she does have experience in the legal field. The interview is set and the instruction have been sent to Laura, unfortunately for her she does not follow instruction and this only gets her punished. "The Interview" as the book is named is the story of what happens to Laura when she goes for the job interview, as she is inexperience in BDSM things don't go to well for her but she gets the job.
I am definitely reading all the books in this series and I'm anxiously awaiting for Book 2. Silk Jones you did a wonderful job, I have read so many book, and all types of genres and I LOVED your work, so looking forward to reading The Admin Book 2

Ahhem! Where to start, this book still has me flustered. The interview is part of series, how many...not sure yet. This book is about a legal secretary, Laura, that got laid off. She has a curious mind, and you know what they say about curiosity. She seem to be interested in BDSM lifestyle, and she just happen to find an AD that is seeking a submissive legal assistant. She had no idea what was in store for her. When she went for the interview she got nervous and start thinking all sort of crazy and was in the mist of leaving when she saw him....Philip Dunbar aka Sir. And oh yes you better address him as Sir. The interview takes an interesting turn. Laura comes to find out she broken two rules and as a sub, she needs to be punished. And Punish she did. Laura and Sir come to find out she loves swanky, but loved be f**ked by sir more. And yes it was the type of scene that had your girly parts tingly and wish you had a sir to relieve the ache. Overall the book is a great intro to what's to come. And I can't wait. I'm missing Sir already. Silk this was a great book. I can't wait for what's to come next. I'm aching for more!!!

This short story had me cringing from the beginning. The only thing that would make it worse would have been if it was riddled with spelling and grammar errors. Luckily, it seemed to avoid those mistakes. I'm no stranger to this style of romance novel. They can be cheesy but still enjoyable. But this one seemed to lack the charm that others have. Perhaps it was the speed at which the story moved. There was very little background on the characters to make them likeable, which ultimately seemed to kill the potential this had. I've never read anything else by this author, but maybe a longer novel length story would provide the details that really draw me.

This is a really great read. I really enjoyed the descriptions and the adjectives and adverbs used in the chapter. Very believable and no unrealistic positions or movements. Kept me interested through the whole chapter - couldn't stop reading. Almost burnt my lunch because the timer on the oven was going off and I didn't want to stop reading. Also, after reading this chapter I had to get my partner for some "non-reading" activity. I can't wait for Ms Silk Jones to continue on with the book!!

This was a short, really fast read. The concept of a submissive legal Assistant was interesting. I just have one major issue with the book. I hate cliffhangers. I would rather wait until all the parts are completely and read the entire book.
Although I found myself being engaged in the storyline, the fact that it is a cliffhanger is enough ti make me not continue. If you don't mind cliffhangers, go for it!

Wow. That just sucked. Not the book. Oh no that was awesome! It sucked because it ended way too early, but I guess that was the whole point. What a hot opening to a great start up story. My first start up with this author. I am so going to continue with this book, I can not wait to see where this story ends!!

This novella is scorching HOT!!! It introduces you to Laura a legal secretary that lost her job due to downsizing after ten years. She comes across an ad for a "submissive legal assistant" on a BDSM website and is immediately curious. Not being experienced in the lifestyle but having read erotic books she applied for the position and received an appointment for an interview. What she isn't expecting is sexy Phillip Dunbar "Sir" and his spanking for her two infractions of disobedience or the affect of those spankngs. Phillip Dunbar is hesitant to hire an inexperienced sub but there is just something about Laura that excites him like never before. Will Laura accept the job or is this more than she can handle??? Phillip Dunbar is hesitant to hire an inexperienced sub but there is just something about Laura that excites him like never before. Will Laura accept the job or is this more than she can handle??? This quick story describes the most unusual job interview I've ever read. An out of work legal secretary decides to apply for a job as an admin at a law firm. The catch is not the type of law they practice, but the lifestyle of the partners that extends to the job. The attorney conducting the interview is a Dominant in the BDSM lifestyle and wants a Submissive secretary to fill the open position. Desperate for a paycheck, Laura "submits" to the interview. The story moved along and left me wanting to know what happens next. Hopefully we'll have a sequel.
