Devin Lyle and Craig Rockwell are back, this time to a haunted castle in Ireland where a banshee may have gone wild—or maybe there's a much more rational explanation—one that involves a disgruntled heir, murder, and mayhem, all with that sexy light touch Heather Graham has turned into her trademark style.

It's off to Ireland for newlyweds Devin Lyle and Craig "Rocky" Rockwell when Devin's cousin, Kelly, calls her after Kelly's uncle dies under suspicious circumstances. Some think Collum died of a heart attack, while others believe it was due to the legend of the banshee, since the banshee was heard wailing the night before Collum's death. Devin and Rocky work with the Krewe of Hunters, a group of paranormal investigators. It'll be a working honeymoon for them while they try to unravel the case.
This was a very enjoyable novella. As always, Heather Graham provides a great atmosphere to her story. This time it's Ireland, and I felt as though I was there with the ancient ancestral castle, St. Patrick's Day festivities, the graveyard and crypts, the folklore and legends, and a banshee. It was nice to visit again with Devin and Rocky (who were featured in Heather Graham's book The Hexed). This was such a fun short story.
This was a really good read. It takes place in Ireland around Castle Karney and the legend of the banshee. Someone is killing off members of the Karney family, and Devin and Rocky have to solve the mystery.
I've mentioned in other reviews that this author writes a fabulous paranormal mystery, and I think her books shine best when they already involve an established couple (that may be only the novellas) They don't have the forced and awkward romance angle to them that takes away a bit from my enjoyment of the novel.
This author is the queen of twists and turn and red herrings in the stories, so I often find myself surprised by who the baddie(s) is/are. Alas in this one I an excited to say I TOTALLY NAILED IT! I had this person pegged from the get go. Though there was a little added extra I didn't see coming, but GO ME!!

Devin and Rocky have travel to Ireland to the castle of her ancestors after a uncle has passed away. They are celebrating St. Patrick's Day a few day after they arrive. Then another uncle has a heart ❤ attack. Or is it? The fun begins leading to a killer and a happy ending.
I would recommend this novella and author to 👍 readers of romantic relationships fantasy mystery novels 👍🔰. 2024
When Irish Eyes Are Haunting was so good BUT so short. UGH, these novellas are going to kill me. Plus, anything with a banshee has me intrigued from the start. At first, I was hesitant to dive into this novella. Pretty sure I dove into another one for the Krewe series and I couldn't remember if I liked it or not. That being said, I still dove into it - because it was short af - but I also wanted to see if my opinion would change.
In the beginning, it was okay. Maybe it's because I was out running errands while listening but nothing was really grabbing my attention. Then, rather suddenly, I got hooked. No idea how to explain it but it was interesting enough that I wanted to see how it was going to end. Wouldn't necessarily call it a page turner since I was listening to it.. but it was good enough to get a review.
Devin and Rocky spend their honeymoon helping out family. Both see ghosts. They are staying at a castle in Ireland owned by Devin's cousin Kelly's family. Collum, Kelly's uncle, was recently deceased from a heart attack and they are there to make sure that was the case. This was slow to start. It picked up after Brendan's attack. Good conclusion, no cliffhangers. Very atmospheric (ancient castle with catacombs and family crypt).
The Krewe of Hunters agents embark on yet another thrilling adventure. While I haven't delved into a full-length novel yet, these short stories have been a perfect introduction to the characters. Their portrayal in these narratives has piqued my interest, and I'm looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of their personalities.
In this installment, Devin Lyle and Craig Rockwell find themselves in a haunted castle in Ireland, investigating the wild cries of a banshee — or perhaps uncovering a more logical explanation involving an unhappy heir, murder, and chaos, all woven together with Heather Graham's signature sultry flair.
The mystery is engaging, with Devin and Craig being summoned by the family to investigate a relative's death amidst their honeymoon, leading to some rather awkward moments. As the situation escalates, they find themselves needing to reach out to Jackson Crow for assistance.
My sole reservation lies with the narrator, Roger Clark, whose sonorous voice didn't quite capture the urgency or drama of the events. His delivery lacked the intensity that the story demanded.
I’ve read a number of the “Krewe” books and enjoyed several of them. The first one was the Devon and Rocky story so I thought I might like a novella with them as the main characters. Unfortunately for me this was a poorly written story with little plot and nothing interesting going on. **spoilers** I can’t imagine an unattended death that would not require an autopsy or that a decent doctor couldn’t diagnose head trauma as a cause of unconsciousness. Speaking of that unattended death, he died sitting in an upholstered chair; it would take more than a couple of days to clean it up and have it reupholstered.
I won’t go into the many grammatical mistakes, but there were some other strange descriptions, like the Norman church that was gothic, the solar eclipse of the moon, and the churchyard that had been in use since the 5th century and not expanded. There was also a strange description of how the names had been eroded from the graveyard memorials, but I’m not wading back through to find it.
This is the second novella of the Krewe of Hunters series, set in Ireland. It's pretty similar to the first novella. There's a haunted castle, a historical legend, and the same motive behind the murders. This novella brings back Devin Lyle and Rocky from The Hexed. There was a plethora of family characters in this one, and I found it a little difficult to keep their relationships to each other straight. As with the previous novella, I didn't enjoy this as much as the full-length Krewe books (admittedly, at this point, I am reading the novellas more for the sake of completing the series, if that makes sense). It's not bad, but not really a page-turner either. Only recommended for someone who loves the Krewe series and would be interested in a side story.
A banshee!! This story was charming and full of suspense. While I had an inkling to who the true instigator was, the story behind the individual and the actions and the banshee was delightful. Devin and Rocky are a fun couple who now work together and are married. It was nice to see an update on a couple from an earlier book beyond just supporting a new couple or member of Krewe.
One of my favorite things in this series is how descriptive each book is. I have never been to many of the settings of these stories but the visual worlds that HG creates has me excited to envision them as I read and perhaps visit one day!
I kind of rushed through this to hit my reading goal for the year. It seemed good even with a lot of characters and history involved.
Graham’s been adding a lot of details with her story telling with describing locations and events; feels it’s might be too much now.
And I liked that Graham brought back a recent duo to help me from researching past characters. I also liked that she gave reference to the characters and even a “what happened to them next” summary as well (Devin went through the academy).
This time we have Rocky and Devin with the Krewe of Hunters. A relative of Devin's who lives in a castle in Ireland as one of their relatives has died rather mysteriously. Of course a family curse is involved and sure enough, another relative is attacked but survives in a coma. In tracing the suspects, they finally figure out that the curse says it will all be over during a full eclipse on St. Patrick's day! Will they be able to solve the mystery before then? Read on!
I enjoy these a little more than the main books because all the cheesy crap is not in them. This one was just okay. There is a long love scene for those of you who like that. It was a short story mainly to let us know Rocky and her got married and went on a honeymoon. Nothing missed here if this one is skipped.

Ghosts are one thing, a banshee is quite another. Ghosts are earthly life continued after death, they don't necessarily imply the existence of a higher power. A banshee is a non-human intelligence, it definitely implies the existence of a higher power. Discovering that purely supernatural entities tied to specific belief systems exist should be a lot more of a big deal than it was.

A haunted castle in Ireland? Yes please! That is the setting for this spooky short story. Murder, maybe and rich with Irish folklore. As with most short stories, I always wish they were longer. This was definitely a great read!
Another great mystery with a spell binding story line. Love the historical part in the mystery. Great characters and lots of twists. A great read for a single setting. Riveting from beginning to end.
Another fun "fill-in-the-blanks" novella, giving us an extra look at characters we've met before. My ONLY issue with this book is Ms. Graham's insistence on calling a lunar eclipse, a "solar eclipse of the moon." That kinda threw me for a minute.
Devin and Rocky go to Ireland to visit cousins and uncles. They are asked by Kelly to figure out how their uncle really died. Then Kelly's da dad is attacked. Who is out to make the Karney family extinct? Is the Banshee really involved and how how? Read and find the answers.
Love these short stories. The actions starts quickly and the story moves fast. Loved it. It helps that we know the characters but it is not needed to enjoy the story.
I would have loved this book to go on longer... I really liked these characters from the beginning. And Will and Kat have been in other stories that I really enjoyed from HG's books?
