The Mystery of the Headless Husband

Rate this book
'There was a faint heat on his cheeks while the rest of his body was cold. A tingling ache in his ears as if someone was screaming in the distance. His journal, which he had tucked under his arm, felt heavy.
Icha-bod. Icha-bod.
Blasted toads again! Ichabod tried to ignore the human-like croaking.
Ichabod, look at me!
Ichabod twitched. His eyes flicked up. Where had the moonlight vanished to? He could barely see the outlines of the aged trees.
Warmth spread across his neck. It was not like a blush but the stroke of another person’s fingers. When he reached out he felt no one there.
“Stop it, Ichabod,” he told himself. “It is a trick of the mind.”
It was at that moment that the very breath was torn from his mouth. Ichabod gagged. It was the air - foul and rancid. He couldn’t ignore this.
His hands leapt to his throat and his journal dropped to the ground. There was things in the darkness. Shifting, curling and uncurling, coming closer towards him.
It was crawling out of his journal. Ichabod, with wide eyes, watched as dark ink-like tendrils escaped from the paper and formed into a slim, curved figure which had hands - hands which opened its fingers wide to -'

This was a fast read. If you like the story of the headless horseman than this is a good after story. I was a little disappointed in how it ended. I absolutely loved the twist with the horseman. Props to the author. He was my favorite. I would definitely say anyone should read this.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review:

I received this book to review as part of a R2R challenge from the Lovers of Paranormal and the Author (Kitty-Lydia Dye). Your short book is a quick and entertaining read, but there are a few issues with grammar. I found in the beginning, a few missing words but the flow was easy to follow. The overall story was a delight to read and the Author does an amazing job at (for me) leaving me wanting more. I'm very excited to see what Ichabod and Aurick do next.

"I received a copy of the ePub from the Goodreads group Lovers of Paranormal in exchange for an honest review."

It is risky writing a sequel to a classic. It takes a skilled writer to take on Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hallow.
This was done seamlessly. An interesting twist to a timeless story. If you have ever wondered what happened...now you know...
Looking forward to the next instalment.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

A very short read but enough to make you shiver. The plot is well-written despite it being short. The author was able to give us an overview of what really happens to Ichabod Crane 5 years prior to the current events. The author was able to provide plot twists which are really good. Hope the author will create longer stories about Ichabod and the horseman.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a short read, but enough to make you sleepless at night.

This book was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review in the LoP group.

I have to say that this was a fun and imaginative book to read. It's a short story but to have the supposed continuation of what happened to Ichabod Crane all those years ago was fun. To think that the Hessian was a good guy just looking for his head and wanting to help Ichabod was great. This was a fast and easy read that I enjoyed.

*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Lovers of Paranormal or LoP*

This was really fun to read! If you enjoy the story of The Headless Horseman you will love this very original version of it. It's a short story so it's a very quick read. I wanted it to be longer only because I liked it so much that I didn't want it to end. I'm looking forward to the 2nd part of Ichabod Crane and Headless Horseman Mysteries! Fun. Fun. Fun.

A different twist on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The Headless Horseman is real, but is a good spirit helping Ichabod Crane.
