I received an ARC from the author to read and review.

The Vanilla Bet was unfortunately not a win for me.

In this story we have an ego loaded hero named Trace who treats life like it’s one big party. Trace’s father has plans to (and is trying to) groom him to take over the family company in the future. Unfortunately, Trace has been brought up with money and uses it to get his way in most things…including getting girls. Vanessa is a young woman who moved away from her family home to study in Palm Beach. She had been physically abused by an ex-boyfriend who stalked her. Vanilla Vanessa, as Trace’s friends call her, isn’t looking for a relationship. After her disastrous high school boyfriend, she rejects a few attempts from boys she met. One victim of her rejection is Seth, who also happens to be a friend of Trace. Seth decides to get back at her by having a bet with Trace over poker, that if Trace loses, he has to go out with her in a vanilla relationship.

Seriously, this book read like a High School romance. If you removed the sex scene, it could easily be classified as YA, but in this day and age, you could probably leave it in and it would be realistic. The guys talked and acted like boys, not like young men and the girls acted like bitchy high school girls fighting over the cool boys. The one thing that shocked me, was the amount of alcohol consumed by these kids, even at a bar. If these kids were over 21, I’ll eat my hat. Maybe when our hero gets past the stage where he thinks his “death glare” will stop people from doing bad things, we might see an improvement.

There is a suspense portion to the story, with a stalker trying to scare Vanessa and keep Trace away. Trace becomes her protector and with her friends help they try to solve the mystery of who it is. To be honest, I’m not sure I want to head to Palm Beach if this was an example of the police and detective work. These kids managed to solve the mystery and deal with the bad guys while the police held their clip boards asking questions and “getting back” to them when they worked it out.

Unfortunately, the lack of contractions was my biggest problem with the author’s writing and using words/language such as gonna drove me to distraction. The storyline was interesting and with some editing the author has the potential for producing a good mystery. I wish the author success in the future.

***I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review!***

This was an interesting read. The book was centered around college playboy, Trace, who ends up losing a bet, and now has to have a type of relationship that he's not used to, with a girl who isn't in his social class. Vanessa is a quiet girl, who is kind and loyal, while Trace gives off that cocky vibe that normally drives girls crazy.

Forced into a "vanilla" relationship with Vanessa, Trace has to approach things differently than he normally would, and it's not just him vying for her attention. Someone from Vanessa's past is a little too interested in her. I definitely appreciate a book with some mystery to it, and this book had that.

Although there were some editing issues, and a few minor errors in the plot, I thought that this book was a fairly solid read. It leaned more towards a YA audience in some parts, while others it was more of an NA read. I enjoyed that the author wrote from both character's POV. This has become a more mainstream concept, and one that I absolutely love. I am always impressed when an author attempts this, and can pull it off. I also really loved this cover.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys some mystery, a misguided hero, and a strong, caring heroine. It's also a fairly quick read, so it won't take you long to finish.

This is a 3.5 for me. I really enjoyed the story, as its not just a straight forward boy meets girl romance, we have some fun in it, some thriller/mystery type sequences in it.

How they met was through a bet. Hence the name of the book. [I thought that a clever caption]

Trace Westen thinks a lot, and I mean A LOT of himself, hes a hunk, he can get anyone right?

One night playing poker he looses his hand and has to accept the bet. He has to pursue this girl and date her. The thing is, like all romance stories, she is HOT and ATTRACTIVE and he's SMITTEN.

We also have some little trysts thrown in here which makes it more of an exciting story and not just any old love story, which I DID like, this kept me turning pages.

I can see this author improving in her work as she goes on with good ideas if this is the beginning of her writing as an author.

Would I recommend it to my romance reader friends? yes, most definitely I would.

There are a lot of romance books being written, hence my 3.5 stars as its a tough world to compete out there. But I personally think this author has great style.

I'm looking for more books to come my way from her.

I'm conflicted as I write this review. I would rate the story at 4 stars, but the editing at 1 1/2 to 2 stars. Despite being often distracted by the editorial errors, I particularly liked the unexpected twists to the tale. Just when I thought I knew exactly what would happen on the next page, she would surprise me with a shift in the plot. I encourage the author to continue writing; I think she has very worthy stories to share!

“He laughs again, the most wicked laugh I’ve ever heard, straight out of a bad movie.” It took a while to reach that… I can’t call it a sentence; take out the middle phrase and it makes no sense. I know how the character feels though, as with so much of this book, I wasn’t sure who the current point-of-view character was, but the story would make a very bad movie.

The opening features a poker game Trace was convinced he’d win: the reason he couldn’t be sure was blatantly obvious to me, and I’ve never pretended to be more than a “game at Christmas” player, so it was no surprise when he lost the game and the bet. Another character was such a convincingly-male female that, unless she was twisting her ankle on high heels, I had to check with whom I was expected to empathise. (Is this the reason Ms Emerson provided a name at the opening of every chapter?)

The basic idea underpinning this story lends itself beautifully to sexual tension stretched like elastic almost to breaking point. Sadly, the writer fails to deliver despite Trace falling hard for his “vanilla” date. It’s an odd mixture of missed chances to develop a sexy romance and action that is too often farfetched.

NOTE - I don't usually rate books under 4 stars; I consider it's my mistake for making a bad choice. I have this time because it has a very good rating on Amazon Com and an even better one on Amazon UK. Readers do take ratings into account, whether or not they read the reviews, and this book is so poor those ratings are misleading. But for very occasional flashes of talent from the author I would have rated it one star, and on Com I wouldn't be alone.

You can't beat a good romance story with a mystery stalker thrown into the equation!!

The Vanilla Bet does not disappoint.

Right up until the last minute I was trying to guess 'who could it be.' Of course I'm not going to tell you!!

I really liked Trace and Vanessa and reading their story from both POV. I think this helps gain a connection with them, to know what they are thinking and feeling. I hope the secondary characters, such as Maxine get to tell their story in another book.

This is the second book I have read from this author, the first being 'Sky Watcher.' I love her style of writing.

If your looking for a book with more story than smut?? Then I highly recommend The Vanilla Bet.

Brilliant!!

This was my first Ella Emerson book and it was a fun but quick read. Vanessa moved to Florida to go to school after an incident at home sent her searching for more, Trace is the all American surfer and playboy, her has a reputation for being a player and never having a girlfriend. When their paths collide after a bet is made will they fall for each other? Or will the truth run a good thing before it starts?
This book had wit, sarcasm, suspense and good old fashion sex, with some fun 80's movie references to boot!

I never expected this book to have so many twist, turns, and mystery! I also don't want to leave out the romance and sexy as sin Trace...

You won't want to miss this one! Be prepared on the edge of your seat to figure out who the bad guy is.

*Gifted for an honest review* 4 Stars
I think this is my first Ella Emerson book that I’ve read and yeah, would definitely read again. The concept behind The Vanilla Bet is not a new one but it held its own in the long run. Was an extremely enjoyable read with a bit of angst and a lot of suspense thrown in. It kept you guessing in places and sometimes you thought you knew what was coming but not necessarily so. It wasn’t so difficult to figure out but I didn’t figure it out quickly if you get what I mean?
I have to mention the writing style, I made myself stick with it because I really was enjoying the read although initially I wasn’t finding the style to be to my taste. It felt a little stilted, like the sentences were broken and short. For me this style only works for a little while before I find I can’t read anymore but it seemed to move past that and was an easier read from about a third of the book in. Having not read Ella’s work before I’m unsure if that is her normal style. Sometimes it went off on little tangents, and whilst connected to the story the tangents were not necessarily connected at that moment. It wasn’t confusing but rather something that I noticed. There are some quite humorous moments in the book that do make you laugh and I did find the Hulk reference quite funny. There were darker themes running through this book that you don’t initially grab hold of, but are there nonetheless and tackled with care. You also get a corny moment or two where you’re eyes are rolling but again, very enjoyable to read and in a way suited the story. Your characters Trace and Vanessa are very likeable and you do root for their HEA from the start even though it seems a little predictable.
From reading the End of Book musings it’s quite clear there are bits of Ella in this book, more superficial things that come through the pages. I liked this, there was some wonderful sparks of some extremely good writing and I really enjoyed this. I would recommend for a lighter read with some heavyish themes.
Favourite line (well half a one anyways) – “like a lighthouse calling to a misguided ship, I want to seek shelter there.”

I'm really not sure where to start with The Vanilla Bet, there was so many things I didn't like about it that they seemed to mount up and the things I liked were few. I really hate to give a book such a bad review because authors put so much work into them but I can't say this one was good at all.

Firstly the characters were fine. Slightly cliche but ok. Trace was the typical bad boy who was partying till the time he had to go and work for his father on an internship (Well, his father's friend) and we have Vanessa who is the happy go lucky, 'has had issues in the past' and is moving on type of girl. So far, nothing really knew.

The story started out ok, I liked the idea of the bet with Trace, it was a good idea although the initial sex scene he has in the book (Non-vanilla shall we say) felt forced and almost in pieces. It didn't flow at all. The story moves forward with Trace taking on the bet but then we have some instalove etc which felt wrong for his character. Looking at Vanessa we have this whole 'secret' thing in her past which makes her uneasy in certain situations, but the mystery there just niggled me, it didn't flow right and the story again felt rather 'pieced' together rather than flowing nicely. I don't like to give spoilers but the whole 'mystery attacker' thing with Vanessa was plain ridiculous when you find out who it is. Also the whole 'forgiving' talk Vanessa has with one of the male friend characters was hilarious. It really felt like the guy could have done anything and she would have been, "Oh yeah, that's fine. You just should have told me" Sorry but it was completely unbelievable.

Even the ending felt just too cliche. I'm sorry, it may sound like nothing good happened in this book. There were good aspects. I loved parts of Trace and Vanessa's relationship, I liked the settings and although we didn't get a huge look into the friends mentioned in the book they seemed to fit with the story - have to say, liked Maxine. But other than that, I haven't really got much nice I can say. This book was OTT at best at times and it just got silly towards the ends, 2 stars, maybe 2.5 but nothing more.

3.5 Entertaining Stars

The Vanilla Bet by Ella Emerson is a quick fun read. I found it appealing and intriguing. I enjoyed the entertaining storyline and the charming characters. It's not your typical boy meets girl story. There are a couple of twists and it is filled with mystery. It has a bit of a Nancy Drew feel. Closer to YA book rather than NA. It did give me butterflies and I loved the slow build up. It's not overly sexy. It's more about the story, which I found refreshing!

Trace Weston is a classic rich college playboy from privileged Palm Beach, Florida. He is just going through life partying and jumping from girl to girl. Until he loses a bet at a poker game. His punishment for losing is having to date, "Vanilla" Vanessa for an entire month. Vanessa Summers isn't the type of girl Trace is used to... although she is beautiful, she is simple, sweet and sincere. Poor Vanessa is clueless about the bet. She is simply being herself... while doing so, she unlocks sides of Trace he didn't know existed. He seems to be more than meets the eye. Protective, compassionate, kind and even loyal! Is this the real Trace?? Will they ultimately fall for each other or will it all blow up in their faces? While they are getting to know each other, strange things start happening... you will be guessing who is behind them till the end. Ella created memorable characters. Especially Maxine, Vanessa's best friend. She is a trip and will make you laugh quite a few times. Ella also did a great job depicting Palm beach and college life.... She made me want to go back!!

Ella Emerson is a new author. She is still learning and will continue to grow with experience. She has great ideas but there are rookie mistakes throughout the book. Grammatical and plot errors that frustrated me, because any good editor or beta team should have caught them. I do not blame or penalise her for the fault of others.

She is an author to keep your eye on... I see so much potential! I'm looking forward to more from The Palm Beach Princess series!

I need to start by saying I abandoned this book at ten percent. I don’t often abandon books, but I could not continue with this one. I wanted to give up after the first chapter. I chugged along to chapter two and had an even stronger urge to put it down. Made it through chapter three before I finally had enough.

This book is so horribly edited it’s difficult to read. It is a self-pub book, but it lists an editing company. I went online to look up the editing company to try to give the author a little credit, assuming the editor was to blame. But it appears that the author is responsible for the editing company. There were errors in the sample work on the editing company’s website, so I knew the book wasn’t going to get any better. They have no idea how to punctuate dialogue or use an em dash. The word “then” was used in place of “than.”

The story itself is also disjointed. It skips all over the place and is confusing. The dialogue and writing are unnatural. It feels like reading a fifth grade writing assignment instead of a published book. And since I didn’t get too far into the plot, I can only comment that the beginning of the plot is too cliché. The hero is a playboy who doesn’t date, yet he has an instant attraction to the heroine. He loses a bet and is supposed to date her for one month, but he walks out of the party with another woman. Then he decides he can’t be with the other woman because he’s thinking of the heroine. The heroine, of course, is also instantly attracted to the hero. Her car breaks down so she has to walk, and then she breaks the heel of her shoe. The hero happens to be the only person who drives by, and instead of driving her home he takes her out for coffee. Her shoe is still broken, but I guess she doesn’t mind walking around like that.

I don’t necessarily like reviewing books I abandon since I can’t give a full opinion. This one I felt I read enough of to be able to say it’s a do not read based on not only the plot, but the editing as well.

Ella Emerson has very quickly become one of my favorite authors. The best part is that I never know what to expect, as she never stays inside the box. I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED every minute of The Vanilla Bet.

Trace Weston is the hot bad boy at his college. He surfs, parties, and has a different woman every night. Vanessa Summers has left a dark past moving to Florida to attend the same college. She's studying writing, as it's the best way for her to get her feelings out. She's beautiful, hard working, and never thought Trace would ever talk to her. He's lost a poker bet and has to spend 30 days in a "vanilla relationship" with Vanessa or lose his car. They feel an instant connection to each other, but both have secrets they are hiding. The more time he spends with her, the more feelings start to develop. But with all the people who want them to fail as a couple, will they be able to get past all the secrets?

WOW WOW WOW! I will say it again, I LOVED this story. The character development is perfect, with secondaries that I can't wait to read about. A fast paced, and well written story line flows effortlessly, as I didn't put it down until I read cover to cover. Ella Emerson is on my kindle crack list because I can never get enough of her talented writing style, and I'm always upset when I finish her stories. Her brilliantly diabolical mind shines through in her writing as I never fully guess which way she's going to go, and so I always feel throat punched at least once from her twists and turns. The chemistry is tangible, and I found myself screaming "Take her already" more than once until finally the SMOKIN' HOT sexy scene goodness. My emotions were on my sleeve, because I physically felt Vanessa's pain seeping through the pages. The next book can't come quickly enough for my addiction, and so I happily HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Boys will be boys! College partying, a simple game of cards and a bet. This starts off this sweet Romantic mystery by Ella Emerson. My second story I've read by her, I see a very talented writer in the midst!
Reading the first chapter I stepped into the hot and sandy world of Palm Beach. While I'm sitting here in almost below zero temps, I was excited like a little kid at the zoo reading this. I meet a cute sexy college boy named Trace Weston. He is very popular with the girls and has a very well known reputation. Having a father who is demanding him to go into a profession he is not eager to start instead he wants to party in college. Enjoying the no string attached relationships. Well that's until he gets an unlucky hand of cards.
Vanessa Summers, studies and working her way to a bright future, are the two things on her mind. Having a history with a bad relationship, boys are far from what she wants right now.
These two got another thing coming when they are put together one night. Bets and awakened feelings mixed up together is about to explode with unexpected surprises.
While feelings are exposed, mystery and fright swarm around in the air. What is in the future for Trace and Vanessa?
I really enjoyed what Ella did here! She brings out likeable and fresh characters. I laughed and chuckled a lot with these guys, bringing me back to my college years and all the fun I had! I recommend this sweet, sexy, witty and thrilling story with a mystery twist to all readers. I felt like a reading detective trying to piece all the clues together. Ella brought the surprise and suspence. I give this story a 3.5 stars, while I loved the story, there were a few grammical errors and minor things that I wish were added. This is Ella's second series and she keeps getting better and better! I am really looking forward to reading many more from her.

Trace is the popular college playboy. He’s Mr. All American and every girl wants a piece of him but not every girl can have him. Vanessa is the outcast trying to fit in with the socialites but she’s on a budget and wants no part of the superficial life. She’s quite, and very outgoing or is that a part of her allure?

During a poker game a bet is made. Trace has to have a “vanilla” relationship with the unpopular girl. Vanilla being no sex which is more of a punishment because he seems to love the act itself.

A chance meeting…..

Her car dies and Trace gives her a ride. She’s unlike any girl he has ever had. Vanessa isn’t one to jump when a cute guy comes near and Trace enjoys the chase. Can Trace stick to the bet or will this “relationship” turn into something more real?

This isn’t your typical boy meets girl sweet romance the author does provide a little bit of a twist. Vanessa has a secret admirer and like the white knight Trace steps up as her protector. This is a very simple beach read not very complex and enough to keep you distracted. Unfortunately this book was a little to cheesy and young adult for me.

This book is very low heat. Some things didn’t make sense like the notes, the break in and the attack. At what point were the cops going to be called? They confront the culprit and then threaten them with the cops? The person behind these issues has no repercussions for their actions. Huh? Then there is another twist which is a little bit farfetched. The ending was a little cheesy and 90’s B-movies for me. But please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

First off let me say that I loved this book! I couldn't put it down! It had me from the beginning!

Synopsis
Trace Weston lives in the beautiful Palm Beaches. A college student who would rather party his life away than accept his father's company. He loses a bet at a college party and has to have a "vanilla" relationship with a girl he has never met.

Vanessa Summers, moved to Florida to attend college for her love of the arts. She also left behind a dark past that haunts her every day. She meets Trace and is instantly taken with his irresistible charm. Will she be able to keep her secrets hidden? Will Trace be able to help her find the answers to what she is searching for? Will they be able to find who and what is trying to keep them apart?

I love the characters! I think I fell for Traces as hard as Vanessa! So when you read this and you read about the bet you instantly think..okay they make a bet, then he falls for her, then she finds out sort of thing.. Its different! Believe me! I don't think it turned out like you would think!

I love the chemistry between Trace & Vanessa! Right off the bat you can feel the intensity!

This book has a little of everything! Romance, Humor, Mystery!
The Vanilla Bet had me guessing til the very end! & then it was still a complete surprise!!

I definitely recommend this book! I loved it!

3.5 Stars!

This was cute quick read that really took a turn that I did not expect, at all.

We start with Trace Weston, born of privileges, cocksure of himself, able to get any girl he wants. While at a party he enters into a game of poker. So sure of his "winning" hand, the bet goes further than just the chips on the table. His friend raises the wage of Trace having to have a "vanilla" relationship with Vanessa. Vanilla meaning, no one night stand, a typical, real relationship. Believing he will win, he accepts the challenge. As you can imagine, Trace loses.

Trace then seeks Vanessa out so he can fulfill the bet, only it starts to become more for him. This part I loved. They had great chemistry together. But there is something about Vanessa's past he doesn't know about.

This part in the story is where it took that swerve. I liked it but I felt like some of the backstory got put on the back burner.

Someone is out to get Vanessa. Not just meaningless threats, but out of the picture. I loved watching Trace taking care of Vanessa and them working together to piece together who is out for them. While they are trying to figure who it is, Vanessa finds out that she is a result of a bet. Feeling like everything Trace said or did was a lie, she leaves him.

Will Trace get to explain he really does have feelings for her? Will they find out who is after Vanessa? Will they get a HEA in the end?

It'll keep you guessing until the end.

Meet Trace, notorious college playboy, always out for hooking up but nothing more. In a heated game of poker at a party, he accepts a bet to try to have a "vanilla" relationship with anyone at the party. Vanilla, as in no random hook ups, being with and dating the same girl for an entire month. Trace has a no-lose hand, so he accepts the challenge. He loses. His buddy picks his victim: the lovely Vanessa, who'd recently turned down his buddy, so he thinks it will be even more challenging for Trace to get Vanessa to go out with him.

Vanessa can't quite understand why the handsome and player-boy Trace is suddenly interested in her but something about him makes her interested, even though every bone in her body screams for her to stay away from him because of his reputation. He's charming and sexy and she can't say no.

Through a series of events that can only be described as "rom-com predictable," Trace and Vanessa get very close, both emotionally and physically. Trace doesn't understand why he's starting to get feelings for Vanessa, the urge to protect her, care about her, adore her, especially because he's never felt like that before about a girl.

Weird things start happening once Trace and Vanessa start dating. Weird and sort of dangerous and threatening. Without spoiling the story, I will say no more. This story will leave you guessing with a few twists and turns to the plot. This was my first book I read by this author and I'm sure it won't be my last.

Running away from her past, Vanessa moves from Ohio to Florida to start fresh. She starts school, find a small place and a job, soon she finds Maxine and becomes he friend and new roommate.
Trace is a player. He is good looking and has women lining up to be with him. When Trace loses a bet he is determined to to fulfill the requirements, of having a "vanilla" relationship with a girl he has never met.
Everything about being with Vanessa comes easy. But shortly after they start seeing each other, things start happening. Freaky notes, break ins and her apartment trashed to name a few. Even though the notes warn them to stop seeing each other they continue and seem to be drawn closer because of this. Trace doesn't understand the protectiveness he feels towards her or how strong he feels for her, except that he knows being around her feels right.
Will the stress of this get to them? Or will it continue to bring them closer?
This book is not suitable for persons under the age of 17. STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL MATERIAL, and INTENSE VIOLENCE. This is a STANDALONE Novel. Vanilla bet had a little Mystery, Romance, Comedy, and Suspense a nice balance for every reader. This is the first book from Ella Emerson but this will not be the last. I look forward to seeing what other creations she has and will create in the future.

Trace Weston is a playboy. The one to never settle down. While playing poker with some friends he loses a bet and now has to have a "Vanilla" relationship with a girl he has never met before for an entire month.

Vanessa Summers has just moved to Florida to attend college leaving behind a dark past. While at a party she sees Trace across the room and is instantly attracted to him but knows his reputation. When her car breaks down Trace comes to her rescue.

The more time they spend together the deeper they fall. It only started as a bet for Trace but will it become more? When someone breaks into her house and starts leaving her freaky letters will Trace do every thing possible to protect her? Will her dark past resurface? Who is this mysterious stalker?

I really loved this book!! From the start I was hooked!! The Vanilla bet was fun, had mystery and suspence and romance. I LOVED the chemistry between Trace and Vanessa!! There was several times I just knew who the stalker was and then bam, I was wrong. The "who done it" had me devouring it as quickly as possible and loving every second. Amazing job Ella Emerson!! This was the first book I've read by this author but it def won't be my last!!

Wow, Vanilla Bet was a great read. Vanessa has moved to Florida to attend college, she also is leaving behind some stuff in Ohio. There's stuff in Vanessa's past that she wants to leave there. Trace is a player and doesn't do relationships. As part of a poker bet if he loses he will have to have a vanilla relationship with Vanessa. I loved the back and forth between Trace and his guy friends. Vanessa knows nothing about the bet. Trace loses and must have a vanilla relationship with Vanessa. It turns out that Vanessa might just be the one for Trace. Of course yo know that the whole bet thing is going to come out at some point.

There is much more than just a typical romance story going on here. Someone is leaving notes and stuff for Vanessa, warning her to back off Trace. I truly had no idea who was leaving the notes. I went back and forth on who I thought it was but I never actually guessed who it was.

It's a great story. It has romance and mystery. There was not a moment in the story that I felt dragged or was boring.

3.5 Stars

The Vanilla Bet has a YA or NA romance, suspense feel to it. I will be honest and say that I read the book twice so that I could give it a fair review.

What I liked:
It wasn't entirely predictable, the mystery was pretty amped up until the end. The storyline was pretty good and I could visualize where Ella Emerson was going with it I just don't think it was completely accomplished. The characters were interesting and it wasn't the typical cliche boy meets girl romance, there were lots of twists in there along the way. It was told from both POV's which I tend to prefer.

What I didn't like:
There were a few editing issues that confused me as well as some plot errors that made it difficult to follow at times.
I felt like there were a lot of "fillers" in there. Unnecessary information that slowed my reading process

Hero: 3.5 Stars
Heroine: 4 Stars
Plot: 4.5 Stars
Stem Level: 1
Cliffhanger: No

I would recommend this book and I tell anyone to give it a chance. I think Ella Emerson will only get better from here and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

ARC GIVEN FOR AN HONEST REVIEW... (D&S Book Blog) - 3 Stars

so where to start...
I begin to read and thought, this has promise, but then it started to fall a part a little for me.
The story was a bit too similar to the movie "She's All That" (Freddie Prince Jnr) for me. He loses a bet, then has to get the plain jane to date him etc.

There were grammatical errors.

*********SPOILER ALERT*************** (kind of..)

The Story didn't flow as well, especially towards the middle and end, when Vanessa finds out who is sending her notes, and then the way that person is punished, he has a confrontation with Trace, then the next day he is sent on a plane back home... like i think there would be far worse consequences... just wasn't believable.

the other person, well that was a great twist, but i still found that some parts were rushed through, wish there was more character development. The story was ok. A bit more editing, and a little more added to the middle and end, might have made me give it more stars...

3.7 stars.

Trace Westen is one of those college hunks that all the girls want. The college player and hearthrob. After losing a hand of poker at a party, he pursues the girl he HAS to date in order to carry out the bet. But what he doesn't realise, is how hot, beautiful and innocent Vanessa really is. Does the bet go to plan? Or will something get in the way.

Although I enjoyed the story, I found it hard to read with grammatical errors on every page and 'I am....' instead of 'I'm' It sounded a bit too formal. But I liked where the story headed, and was shocked at the ending, I really thought I had it figured out. I admit it took me a while to get into but the ending was good and interesting.

I would say the audience would be from 17+ there is only little sexual content. But there is a little violence.

Trace Weston is college student in Palm Beach Florida who winds up losing a bet and has to have a "vanilla" relationship. Known as a playboy and never one to settle down, but also never one to back down from a challenge he accepts this ‘bet’ and it may be the best ‘bet’ he’s ever made. Vanessa Summers is the college girl Trace’s friend Seth says he has to do with bet with. Vanessa meets Trace and is surprised at his chivalry when they first officially meet. They have great chemistry and when you add in the suspense of events that unfold, it all leads to one climatic ending no one saw coming. This book is sweet and thrilling and the mystery and love that unfolds throughout makes it a great page turner. I truly enjoyed every moment reading this and absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a great romance with a bit of thrills and chills.

Vanilla Bet has mystery, romance, and suspence. It keeps you reading from the first to the last page trying to figure ot who is in the hoodie.

Trace is a player. He is a good looking guy with women lined up to be with him. He lost a bet playing poker at a party. So now has to date, "Vanilla" Vanessa for an entire month. Vanessa is beautiful, sweet, sincere and clueless about the bet. As Vanessa starts to let down her guard with Trace, strange things start happening to Vanessa. Trace becomes compassionate and even protective of Vanessa. Is this the real Trace and does he really care for Vanessa? Who is behind the strange things happening?

Ella Emerson has a good storyline but there were some mistakes. I personally think that Ella will improve as she continues to write. I look forward to reading Maxine's story.

wow..
Trace weston is your typical college student studys hard but likes to party harder, but doesn't stick at doing relationships.
just likes to fuck em and get them out of his system, wanting to forget about the fact his father wants him to take over the family company one day.
He goes to college party and loses at game of poker even though he thinks he has a sure hand.
His bet is to do a vanilla relationship for month with he never met.
What he doesn't realise is Vanessa is hot beautiful and sexy as hell.
Vanessa summer's moved to palm beach florida to attend college for her love of her Arts.
She left behind a Dark past that haunts her, will she be able to move on from her past and find love on the horizon.
This story had twists that had me glued to the book. Wonderful storyline that held me captivated til the end.

Trace Weston is a Playboy while playing poker with friends he loses a bet and now has to have a Vanilla relationship with a girl he has never met for a month.

Vanessa Summers has just moved to Florida to go to college she has left behind a dark past. She sees Trace across the room at a party and she is instantly attracted to him but she knows his reputation. Trace comes to her rescue when her car breaks down. The more time they spend together the deeper they fall for each other. For Trace it was just a bet at first but will it become more? When someone breaks into Vanessa's house and starts leaving her freaky letter's will Trace protect her? Who is the mysterious Stalker? Has her dark past come back to haunt her? I truly enjoyed this book at times i thought i knew who the stalker was only to be wrong!
