BOOK ONE OF THE PARANORMAL WEREWOLF ROMANCE SUCCESS STORY FROM GALATEA!
When Cleo, a fierce warrior born from the shadows of the Hunter's creed, is unexpectedly marked by Hakota, the last royal Lycan, her world is turned upside down.
Forced into a labyrinth of deceit, power, and undeniable desire, she stands on the precipice of a war that could unravel the fragile peace between Hunters and Lycans.
As she navigates the treacherous waters of love, betrayal, and the haunting whispers of her destiny, Cleo must confront the demons of her past.
Can she shatter the chains that bind her and rise as the queen of a divided realm?
Edited to add -- the cover is absolutely beautiful to me though it doesn't reflect the book really.... just the... what if more than the reality.
Cleo is a late bloomer in her pack. Daughter of the Alpha who hasn’t found her wolf. No one likes her because she’s human and so she’s basically a void. She’s friendless, mateless, wolfless and feels worthless. Her life is just a series or orders with an assortment of meaningless tasks the others don’t want to do. But she wants to be seen, heard, to be an equal, to train… so she decides to do just that.
She is impulsive, quick tempered and has a smart mouth. All the best character traits for everyone to love, right? When she’s trying to prove herself scouting one night, she realizes that she’s in over her head and after locking eyes with another, that “zing” hits… only to realize she’s fated to be the mate to the Lycan alpha, the very one that killed her mother.
Because of that, she becomes another pawn in a bigger game. Yet when her father threatens him after that feeling was cemented in her body, her wolf makes an appearance.
This Alpha is a possessive, broody, rude, arrogant, mean, ruthless killer but gives her the truth like no one else had. They are oil and vinegar and she is fighting him every single step of the way. She went willingly but with an assignment. F the bond, he's a killer and she wants him dead.
She just wants a “home”... she wants genuine friendship. She longs for acceptance and love. Can she find that with this lycan and betray her father’s pack? The bond is certainly making her second guess their request to kill the lycan king. Then, he accidentally marks her and her world is completely thrown into turmoil. She can’t kill him, can she? But what’s going to happen to her dad’s plan if she can’t?
Bro I’m just pissed. WHAT WAS THAT FREAKING ENDING?!??! HES NOT GOING TO GIVER HER A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN AT ALL?? Hakota pissed me off so bad in the end of the last chapter. He’s professing his undying love for her one minute, the next moment he hears his ENEMY say she was working alongside him and he believes him🤦♀️. I thought he was supported to be smart with him being more than 2 centuries old and all.
I think I liked this book so much because of the idea/version this book I have in my head. I really liked the plot and circumstances of the characters but the writing and execution wasn’t good. There were many times where both characters pissed me off so badly because they wouldn’t communicate. Both of them are just idiots. Most of the problems in this book could’ve been solved by them sitting down and having an earnest conversation. But not that that would ever happen as they both have too much pride and ego to be vulnerable like that in front of the other.
I want to read the next book because this cliff hanger pissed me off a lot and I want to see how the author takes this forward. I read a bit of the book 2 excerpt included in the first book and ITS SET 2 YEARS AFTER THE END OF BOOK 1?!???!

Plot is engaging, but drags. You are left with confusion. Main characters never answer the basics. Why mother is dead? What is father hiding? Did MMC cheat on her after meeting her and why he would do that? How important is the FMC to Lycan bloodline continuing? If the mate pull is so strong, why have they only kissed, and that at past 3 months? How FMC emotion’s drastically change on the fly to pro Lycan? Then to discover there are 3 more books! Teen rom com, with questionable writing. This book is a YA at best.
I found the FMC to be totally unlikable throughout the book, immature & full of unreasonable hate, without a brain in her head. And the MMC never really tried very hard to win her over or just communicate. So he wasn’t much better as a character. Also there was zero spice in whole book! Nada. Can’t justify spending $20 to read book 2, sorry.
I read the first three chapters of this book. The y were all about how much the father loved and protected his daughter. The story was very slow so I skipped to the end.
The daughter killed the father saying he never loved her or treated her as family.
The book is not properly formatted. There is only one chapter about 400 pages long.

I will never read another book by this Author or this publisher. Only the first book is available on Kindle. The story is decent, but the writing is meh. Kind of smacks of the AI scams on social media. Definitely not worth a penny beyond a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Wow… I’ve been binging Galatea books for 2 weeks now. I think this one is my favorite, or one of them… the storyline is really good. I’m already well into the next book.
