Kip hates to fly. If there were any way to avoid flying over an ocean, he would have taken it. But his sister's wedding can't be missed, and no amount of whining, begging, or tantrums changed her mind about the location. So he goes to Hawaii with the promise that he's not gonna do anything but lie in the sand and wait for umbrella drinks to appear in his hand.

Doug didn't think he'd make it to his buddy's wedding in Maui. A last-minute meeting cancellation allows him to hop on a plane and get there just as the pre-wedding events are kicking off. He hasn't met the bride or anyone on her side, but her little brother catches Doug's attention...especially the way he pouts and scowls his way through dinner.

Sugary sweet with a touch of sassy brat

This was a really cute short story and I enjoyed it. Kip was an adorable brat - not fully Little but not fully adult either. I loved his sass and how he tended to go for what he wanted. I liked that the author showed that underneath his brattiness Kip was actually a little insecure and I felt like it gave him more depth. Doug was a good Daddy and balanced out Kip very well. The story moves really fast and there were times when I wished that the author had spent a little more time on world building - they were on a tropical Island after all - but it still worked. An enjoyable read overall.

This is the 2nd in the summer shorts series. This is Kip and Doug's story. Kip is afraid to fly but is forced to attend his sisters destination wedding. Doug has been over working himself, but finally takes time off to attend his college friends wedding. Ahem... Kip desiring to get an all over tan,,,finds a remote part of the beach, and proceeds to bare his behind. He falls asleep and of course gets sunburned. This is how Doug finds him. Hence the Pink Cheeks reference. It's a quick fun read. I'm trying to catch these up before the Christmas ones start. These series by multiple authors sharing the same themes really gives you a chance to see how each author writes, and they're fun.

Short and sweet. My only downside to this book is the characters seem to lack depth, but i suppose that was done intentionally to keep the story short. Still a good read.

Doug and Kip are fun to read. Kip is definitely a handful but I think that’s what Doug needed. I do wish the ending wasn’t so rushed.
