I have read almost 200 Gothic Romance books and this one was just plain stupid. Meredith is supposed to be spending time with 7 year old Tracey, but she is spending most of her time the men of the family. Yes there is a mystery, in most gothic mysteries the herione finds herself in the middle of it, but this Meredith has nothing to do with her and she just nosey. The book did not even get interesting until the couple of chapters when everything was revealed. I would reccomend, just skip this one.
Kind of a 'Rebecca' feel, but set in upstate New York in the '60s. And it is very '60s--but still a suspenseful and interesting read. Kept me guessing to the end.
