Bestselling author Sandra Brown offers a gripping tale in her 2014 novel Mean Streak. Replete with convoluted intrigue, tense action, steamy lust, old-fashioned righteousness and multi-layered betrayal, the novel follows several characters as they come to grips with their pasts, untangle themselves and move ahead into futures that are more promising.

Emory, a pediatrician and a marathon runner, is in the back country training for a run when she is attacked. An investigation of the attack and her disappearance follows, during which time Emory encounters and comes to know Bannock, Jeff is revealed as an adulterous potential murderer, Bannock is revealed as a police hero on the lam as he works punishment on those the legal system will allow to go free, and all converge on the person who actually attacks Emory in the first place. The reader is led through multiple layers of misdirection to the end of the novel, which offers resolution for many of the characters and an ultimately uplifting message. Which is covered in this summary & analysis.

Although it is not likely to be taken up as one of the great works, Sandra Brown’s Mean Streak is an entertaining read and one that does more than simply repeat the many tropes common to novels in its genre.

This Analysis of Mean Streak fills the gap, making you understand more while enhancing your reading experience.

This was an exciting novel and easy to read, but at the end, the plot is quite implausible with lots of inconsistencies.

This was a terrific book. Sandra Brown never fails with a clever plot, engaging heroine/hero, and dastardly villains. I felt like I was in every scene...so well written.

Good story. Love scenes are a bit graphic for some. I liked the hero and wasn't expecting the ending.
