Winter Light
Some secrets refuse to stay buried, and some lighthouses never stop guiding lost souls home.
When architect Sofia Lindner arrives at a century-old lighthouse on the North Sea coast, she intends to quickly assess the dilapidated structure and return to her orderly life in Hamburg. But within the weathered stone walls, she discovers hidden rooms containing love letters and sketches that reveal a forbidden romance between lighthouse keeper Theo Hansen and village girl Marie Schmidt—a romance abruptly ended by war, leaving promises unfulfilled and questions unanswered.
As Sofia delves deeper into the mystery, she finds herself increasingly drawn to local historian Malte Jensen and his daughter Emma, whose family has guarded the lighthouse's secrets for generations. Yet powerful interests led by developer Julian Berger plan to transform the historic lighthouse into a luxury hotel, threatening to erase its past forever. Meanwhile, Sofia's growing suspicion that she shares an unexpected connection with Marie forces her to question everything she thought she knew about her own family history.
When a winter storm traps Sofia in the lighthouse, the boundaries between past and present begin to blur. The whispers of former occupants echo through narrow staircases, and the beacon's rhythmic light seems to pulse with urgent messages from another time. With time running out to save the lighthouse, Sofia must choose between returning to her secure career in the city or risking everything for a place—and people—who have unexpectedly captured her heart.
A story of intersecting lives across generations. A tale of love lost and found. A lighthouse that stands as witness to how the past illuminates our future.
