Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.

The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.

At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.

But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.

Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.

Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).

After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.

Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.

She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.

Overall the premise is interesting. I would say this is more of a Novella or even something that should have been merged with book 4 or 1 &2 (I think book 1 was divided into two parts which should not have been the case). A lot could be done with a little editing. Hopefully the author will take advantage of readers feedback and update her work. If she was to do this she could seriously elevate the work she currently has done.

I had to keep checking I was in the right series and that I hadn't accidentally switched to a different one. There were fairly large continuity issues between this "book" and the last two. Such as:
-In book 1 she is Rouge Riding (pronounce Rogue Ridding) there was a whole scene with her in the front office spelling out her name and pronouncing it for the secretary. Now she is Rouge Thomas??
-In book 1 Grace drove a SmartCar, now she drives a Yellow Beetle.
-In book 1 Rogue's Foster Mother simply returns to Ontario without saying a word. Her drunk Foster Father is the one who has a scene. Now she is haunted by words her Foster Mother said?
-In book 1 Rogue smelled like Licorice, there was even a joke of candy being given to her by Grace. Now she smells of Freesias and Honey.
-In the first two books Simon starts to call her Red. Now it is presented as though Michael started it and Grace is falling into line.
-In the first two books the concept was fallen angels and monsters. Now they are blatantly being called vampires and werewolves.

There are more continuity issues but I'll stop at these. This is just something that I guess gets missed when you don't keep track of details or reread your previous work or have a proofreader/editor. Not to mention the typos, sentence structure and other minor edits a third party would pick up on.

I'm happy because I could see improvement in the author's writing in this book. It felt good and better than the first book(s?).

HOWEVER I don't know what the deal was with the inconsistencies but they really confused me. For example:

- In book 1 there is a small inner monologue where Rouge explains her name is "Rouge Riding" pronounced "Rogue Ridding". In this book her last name is "Thomas" with no explanation. It's just supposedly always been "Rouge Thomas".
- In book 1 Michael's family was Nephilim (fallen angels). In this book they are referred to as a sort of vampire even though there's zero mention of blood drinking, fangs or sensitivity to sunlight. In fact they have tanned skin from the sun.
- In book 1 Rouge's foster mother skipped town and went back to Niagara Falls without a single word. Rouge didn't even know she had left. This book says, "Sally had mumbled mysterious things before she took off, and I planned to find her back east when we got there. Also Sally is never mentioned once they actually go to Niagara Falls.
- In book 1 Grace drove a small smart car and it was mentioned several times. In this book she drives a yellow Volkswagen Beetle. Not super relevant to the story but okay.
- In book 1 Simon was the only person who called her 'Red' and that happened like, once. In this book Michael had apparently started the nickname and then Grace caught on. Even though they still only say it like, once.
- In book 1 Michael and Grace tell Rouge she smells like licorice and Grace even buys her a thing of licorice as a joke. In this book Michael says she smells like freesias and honey.
- They consistently refer to 'Damon' as 'Daman" they go back and forth. I assume this is just a typo.
- Grace and Michael's last name was 'Knightley' but in this book their name is 'Nightly'.
- In book 1 the Grollic transformation happens on your 18th birthday. But this book says, "Today, as I turned seventeen, I should have had the transformation." First of all, there was a whole deal about Rouge turning 18 years old in the first book and wondering if she could shift because Damon didn't know she was 18 yet.

There are also a LOT of grammatical errors. Normally it doesn't bother me but some of these stopped me dead in my tracks. For example:

"I checked my watch. Barley six. Michael would probably be an hour.

and

"I was getting tired of all the weird questioning from the Thompson family. It wasn't Grace's fault, but I couldn't stop myself."

Who are the Thompsons??

"Harder to do this then you thought?" Michael squeezed my hand."

These are just mindless editing errors that could have easily been avoided if someone had went through and checked.

This book was good, though. The story moved along at a good pace, not slow but not breakneck fast. I'll definitely finish this series.

Good story, crap editing

I love the story, and the characters. But the book was impossible to stay absorbed in. The editing was horrendous. So many times I was taken out of the story because of sentences not being completed, or quotation marks being in the wrong place, even the 'person' being wrong. In the same paragraph it says she did something, then I felt something. It really confused me and use became unsure what tense the book was in.

3 stars for the great story, if it wasn't so short, and was professionally edited it would have gotten all 5 stars.

This is the third book in the Hidden Secrets Saga. Now I have to admit that its been a while since I read the first two parts so I wasn't sure if I would be able to jump right back into this series with out reading the first two again. But I was sort of running out of time to get my review done so I wasn't able to go back and read the first two again. But I felt like I was able to jump right back into this series and remember what was going on and happening. I didn't feel like I was missing anything.

Rouge is finally graduating from high school and is looking forward to feeling liberated from the system and everything else. She is also looking forward to finding out more about her past and herself. After being attacked by the Grollic's and now having the mark on her shoulder blade she's afraid she may loss Micheal.

I kind of felt like Micheal and Rouge were distancing themselves from each other in this book a little bit. I felt like they picked fights with each other because they felt like they should. I also kind of felt like I was pulled away from liking Rouge a little bit in this book.

There are several other people who have mentioned this in their reviews. But there were several grammar and spelling mistakes in this story. I also kind of felt like at times that there were places where sentences that weren't finished or cut off and the lines just didn't make sense. Other than that it was nice to see Rouge get some of the pieces of her past filled in for her.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

***I voluntarily read a copy of this book for my honest opinion***

This is another half-a-book. While a lot is revealed in the last chapter or so, it is still incomplete, although

At least this book is a little longer than Seventh Mark Part 1. But in doing so, the pace slows down considerably until the last few chapters.

I wish I could say that in the process of slowing down that we got a chance to learn a lot more about the characters personalities. Not really. And Caleb is just as one-dimensional as ever. Grace is now also one-dimensional in the sense that she doesn't progress either. Rouge and Michael are barely any more interesting.

The death count is seriously reduced. However, there is a woman who we learn third hand has endured beatings. Rouge and Michael start to heat up a little behind closed doors, although it still hasn't reached the point of what I would call sex scenes. If the previous book was rated R, this one is closer to PG or barely PG-13.

Fab

I read this series when it first came out forgot some of it but you just have to read it again. Characters are fab story line unlike any other and I've read over well I reckon half a million. I had read the few thousand that were in the house until they were a bit shabby just the covers. My husband in his great wisdom gave them all to an old folks home. I was raging until he said where they went I have to admit i was stuck so I read the Bible and cringe the book of mormon's until I could get to the library next day thank god it was not the weekend I don't think I could survive without my books at least with the kindle they don't take up much room. This is a must read series happy reading. magdg

Best One Yet

This book has been the best of 3. The plot has thickened and the story doesn’t drag on as much as the others. I’ve truly enjoyed the many discoveries and look forward to the finale.

Flowing well

The writing has greatly improved and is no longer feeling rough. The story is developing well, and is very interesting. I’m enjoying the series, and am happy I kept reading past the first part of Seventh Mark.

Proofreading is not optional. Could be a great read but the errors are annoying.

This book couldn't decide if it wanted to be a spin off of Little Red Riding Hood or Twilight and it just doesn't work.

This book needed a serious proofreader. While spelling and grammer errors were rampant, it was the inconsistencies with the first two books that drove me crazy. For instance, Grace had a Smart Car in the first two books and now all of a sudden it is a yellow bug. Now Grollics are werewolves and Michael is a an undead vamp. What happened to having angels blood? It was as if the author decided to write a different book. Still love the premise from the first two books and hope the author gets her head on straight for the fourth book.

Great Storyteller

I have nothing to say but good about this fantasy, great writing, though this is not really my kind of story, I have enjoyed reading it, but have to say I believe it should have finished with this, the third book, four books is too long and will not hold my interest enough to wait and read a fourth one.

I listened to this audiobook and like the first one I didn't really like the narrator. I liked this one more than the other but it sounds like she is trying to hard.
I really enjoyed this part of Rouge's journey. She learns some secrets from her past that help her understand who she is and meets some family she never knew she had. I like Michael and can't wait to see what's in their future.

Glad I deceided to move on with the series. This was a quick easy read if you don't let the small typo's sidetrack you.

Rouge has learn some distrubing news of her youth and with this more insight of what needs to be done. Question is...can she be the one to do it?

Still good

3rd book in series and still going strong. Love the parallels between Rollins and werewolves and vampire and kinda angels. Only one problem with book. A lot of misspelled, wrong or letters left off end of words. But still a good read. Enjoy!
