Slasher Reading

Growing up, I loved the slasher movies with names you'd never remember...until you saw them again. Movies like, "The Stuff" and "Chopping Mall." This book reminded me of that.

It was a fun, slightly gory trip with just enough titillation to get the R-rating. It does continue into a series, which these naturally lend themselves to. That's why we have about 300 Jason and Howling movies.

Good times that brought me back to childhood for an hour.

[Edited to add: Other reviews point out that there were a LOT of storylines and characters. I don't disagree with that, but also considered that most of them were just cannon fodder for the upcoming deaths. Also, I couldn't tell you the plot of "Jason Takes Manhattan," but I love that movie. Sometimes its fun to just let your mind go and have fun with it.]

arg . I was reading this book for a slasher summer horror book. I know when I hit page 38 and they had like 5 different story lines that something was up and I was correct be continued . Also they are all over the place I don't plan to read the next book 60 pages could have been made into a 100 and finished the story do not recommend this book . The reasons I had not DNF'ed
1. the vibe was right .
2. writing was good if not for all the different storylines.
3. I was wondering if they could end it well in 60 pages . it did not.

Changed from a 3 to a 4.

First of all, there is way too many things happening at once, too many characters and storylines. BUT. The reason I upped it was purely because I read the next one.

This really should have been one big book vs a short story. Would have helped a lot!

The kill scenes are really cool, the vibes are great! Just too much happening. I had a great time though,

Way too many characters and storylines to keep track of. It’s written like a sugared up kid was reading a screenplay overview.
I made it to 48% and just couldn’t keep track of anyone or anything that was happening

I was in the mood for a slasher type book and ran across this on Kindle Unlimited. I didn't have an issue with the different storyline arcs and it started off with a bang. I figured out the killer kinda quickly the only issue was all the childish fighting from the characters. It ends on a cliffhanger so I'll be reading part two to complete the series.
