Welcome to Covington Cove Island… where timeless charm and secrets intertwine, and every wave whispers a tale of hidden hearts and summer dreams.
Sierra Parker’s summer doesn’t start until two people her lifelong best friends, Jude and Sawyer.
This summer feels different, though. Sierra’s older sister, Echo, is off to college in the fall; Sawyer has been withdrawing a lot; and Jude is acting… flirtatious?
Sierra’s not sure what to make of it all yet, but knows one thing—the death of the island matriarch, Eleanor Covington, is hitting her harder than expected when it brings up old emotions from her mother’s passing a few years ago.
So when she’s sent a scavenger hunt by the recently departed Eleanor, she jumps right in, thinking it’s the perfect distraction. And she wants her besties to do it with her.
Jude is all in, ready to go for every quest. But Sawyer is still holding back, and she can’t figure out why.
Will Eleanor’s riddles bring Sierra on an adventure of a lifetime?
And can Sierra figure out why both boys are acting so differently this year, without getting her heart broken in the mean time?
Danielle Keil grew up and spent the majority of her life in the Chicagoland area. A recent transplant, she is enjoying the Mississippi life, especially the pool in her backyard. Danielle is happily married for over 10 years, and has two young children, a daughter and a son, who are exact replicas of her and her husband.
Danielle's love language is gifts, her Ennegram is a 9w1, and she loves everything purple. The way to her heart is through coffee, chocolate and tacos (extra guac).
Ehh the other books in the series were WILDLY better ngl. This one was okay but I wasn’t particularly fond of the love triangle because I simply don’t like love triangles 💀
Misguided Hearts is a forced proximity, love triangle, childhood friends to lover romance. This is the third book in the Hidden Hearts series.
This return to Covington Cove was fun from the very beginning. Watching Sierra bouncing around waiting for her two friends, Jude and Sawyer, put me right in the mood. The scavenger hunt, like the previous books in the series, did not disappoint. The surprise reveal by Eleanor at the end had me in tears. Way to grab the feels!
I loved the slow burn between these lovable teens. The story unfolds in a gentle, teasing way. As I followed Sierra’s internal struggles to understand the mixed signals from her two friends, I couldn’t help but want to hug the characters. The story was so compelling that I binged the book in one sitting.
Welcome back to the cove! This book was so good! Misguided Hearts was so good. I love the dynamic in this one. Yes it felt like a Hidden Hearts book but at the same time it felt different so it was a nice stand out feeling. I love how spunky Sierra is. This is just such a well written young adult book that definitely hits the love triangle aspect and scavenger hunt fun!
I'm so happy to be going back to Covington Cove! Sierra and her two best friends are in for a summer of big change and the tension is so, so good. Sierra herself is such a fun, real personality. Jude is adorable and I just want to hug Sawyer. The clues from Eleanor are just icing on the cake as these three figure themselves out. Love this series so much!
