After catching her fiancé in bed with her best friend, American events planner Tempany Dempsey escapes to the English village of Redbrook, determined to start over — and sworn off charming men and emotional risks.
Then she meets Tristan Wolfe.
Ex-special forces. Property developer. Silent, watchful, and impenetrably self-contained, Tristan doesn’t do chaos, vulnerability, or women who challenge him — especially not the one who publicly dismantles his redevelopment plans.
What begins as friction turns into something far more dangerous. Behind Tristan’s restraint is a man shaped by loss and fear of wanting too much. Behind Tempany’s confidence is a woman who still believes love is something you choose — even when it’s messy.
Their connection burns hot and complicated, flaring in private and fracturing in daylight. When Tempany risks her heart and Tristan pulls away, he’s forced to decide whether staying safe is worth losing the one woman who sees him clearly.
A slow-burn, emotionally charged romance about choosing love, showing up when it matters, and discovering that fairy tales aren’t about perfection — they’re about staying.
I’ve loved this whole series, and even though this third book had a really different vibe from the first two, I honestly loved it. It felt more emotional and real, and the characters were really flawed and human.
I really loved the contrast between them — one keeps risking their heart over and over, and the other is so focused on protecting theirs that people get hurt. It felt super relatable (been there so many times!)
I would absolutely read anything this author writes, and ngl… I’d move to Redbrook in a heartbeat ❤️
