Love Sick #3

Second Opinion

Rate this book
Why is my little sister's best friend suddenly taking over my every waking thought? I wrote off marriage and commitment four years ago when my ex told me I'm not "marriage material." But I feel this spark with Avery, and I wonder if I need a second opinion about my ex's assessment.

Avery has always been in my periphery, yet I never gave her a second glance. I have plenty of reasons to ignore what I'm feeling, but she's making me want a future I wrote off a long time ago.

Ultimately, I have to decide what to do when the past makes her way back to the present.

I am kinda in love with Lisa Suzanne's books. Like, no joke. It stated for me with Side Effects. Wow, did that book reel me in. So, when I got my hands on Second Opinion, I did not want to read it. I read it the second it showed up on my kindle and did not put it down for long!

Grant Carpenter has been hurt by love. He had a long term relationship once. Grants was so in love, he asked the girl to marry him. Then she told him "he wasn't marriage material". Since then, he hasn't been in a relationship. He has a lot of one night stands. It works for him. He has a constant loop inning through his head that no one would want him long term, so one night is good enough.

When Grants starts spending more time with his sister's (Quinn) long time good friend, Avery, something clicks. Even though Quinn and Avery has been friends for a while, Grant is starting to see her in a whole new light. On a side note, can I tell you how glad I was that we saw Quinn and Reed again?? Not only see them, but it is THEIR wedding. I was so giddy with excitement. Back to Grant, so he and Avery have some crazy intense chemistry. The flirting and banter starts to escalate at the engagement party and leads to them deciding to take the next step after the wedding. Grant was such a sweetheart. He did not want to cause any kind of drama for his sister, so he waited until everything was over to even begin anything with Avery.

What starts off as a one night stand between Grant and Avery, turns into to so much more. Grant actually, for the first time in a long time wants more. Although it scares him, he can see himself with Avery for the long haul. But there is some obstacles in their way. For one, they keep things hidden from Quinn. Grant has caused friendships to end in the past by sleeping with Quinn's friends. She does to want to loose any of her best friends now. Then there is the pasts both Avery and Grant are still dealing with. Both has been traumatized, and because of that they both are not good at relationships. The banter that they have it witty and humorous. The chemistry is amazing. So hot.

This was a fantastic story about finding love again.... and it being better than you remember. Liza Suzanne is my new go to author!! Separation Anxiety, Side Effects and Second Opinion have all be great reads for me.

As Grant grows as a man and learns to love again you also get to learn about Avery and watch her love and grow. The ending was amazing and wonderful in every way. I so didn't want there story to end but I'm hoping to see them in upcoming stories maybe? :) Very few words as of right now for my review!! It's magically fanfreakingtatic!! I love it!!! I think I'm more in love with Grant than Nick, Reed, Jesse, and Travis. Yes that's right Grant tops all of them!!! Omg what a true love amazing story. I really love Grant he's this prefect Ass that you can't help but fall for him. He might have a load of problems but he figures them out just in time.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

WARNING: Mature Audiences Only 18+ due to foul language and sexual content

Do you have any authors that can do no wrong?
Authors that, no matter what they write, you'll always one-click, or pre-order as soon as it becomes available.
I have a few like that, in fact, Lisa Suzanne is one of those authors.
Whenever she announces that she's starting a new book, working on a new book, or about to release a new book I get excited right away. I loved her first series, the He Feels Series, and I love her set of stand-alone novels that are all spin-offs of one another. Her newest novel, Second Opinion, follows Quinn's brother, Grant Carpenter, and his journey from becoming a ladies man, to finding the love of his life. Although I promise you, it's not as simple as it sounds...

Grant Carpenter has never had trouble getting girls. He knew what to say, how to act, and how to pleasure women. He used to be the relationship type, but not since his infamous ex, Rachelle, who ruined him for all future women. But, for some reason, at his sister's engagement party, he starts sees an old friend in a different light; and maybe....just maybe, he'll want another shot at a happily ever after.

I always an abundant of things I want to say about Suzanne's books.
Let's start with the first, and what I think is the most important one...
THIS BOOK IS DIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRTY!
And when I say dirty, I mean I was reading this in public and I was laughing. I felt so embarrassed reading some of these scenes. Grant and Avery are just...they're DIIIIIRRRRTTTTYYYY!!! It's so refreshing and sexy in comparison to some tame vanilla, although very hot vanilla sex. They have such naughty mouths too. It was really hard for me to save some of the quotes because amazon refuses vulgarity. I wish I could give you guys examples, but I promise, even I was getting all hot and bothered, and was probably a little jealous of those two.

I still wasn't sure how overnight she had gone from my sister's friend to this incredible woman who was making me think about things I hadn't thought about in years.
But somehow she had.
I never believed in fate or love at first sight or any of that.... People always said that when you meet someone who is right for you, you just know.
It's all a bunch of lies.

Grant and Avery just...work so well together. They have so much in common, they LOVE SEX, and have the same mannerisms, what's not to love. I think my favourite thing about this book is that Suzanne makes Grant look realistic. I think even from a male's perspective, they'd probably think that, "Yes, this is what a man does.". He's not trying to be romantic all the time, he enjoys working out, sex, sports, hanging with his friends; he's not the type for some massive romantic gesture, he's just himself, and not trying to be anything else.

I had girls on speed dial who were suddenly forgotten. Girls who were always up for a good time, girls who sent naked texts, girls who wanted more with me.
But none of them had been anywhere near my thoughts.

This novel is different from Suzanne's other novels because of the way the story is told. The first part, the present, is where all the juicy bits happen. Where Grant and Avery are all, dirty, sexy, and fun together. The second part is about Grant's past and takes place in multiple flashbacks. I do admit that the flashbacks were a little hard to keep up with since there were so many, and at different ages. But all in all, it helped developed the story, and I did enjoy reading the flashbacks in another part of the story, rather than having them intertwined into the story.

As much as I love the men and women from Separation Anxiety, Side Effects and now Second opinion, I'm ready for something new, and I know Lisa Suzanne won't disappoint.

Second Opinion is one of those rare jewels told from the male POV that I really appreciate.

Grant met the person he was supposed to spend his life with in college. They spend the first year as friends before starting a relationship. After 5 years, Grant proposed, but she said no. Why? Apparently, she didn’t think Grant was marriage material. She broke his heart and Grant spent the next 3 years trying to cope, but being hurt and angry. That’s when she came back into his life just to break his heart a 2nd time. Now, 4 years later, Grant refuses to be broken again…by her or anyone. He hooks up. He doesn’t do relationships. He’s pretty happy about that until he’s at his sister, Quinn’s engagement party and her friend, Avery, is giving him the look. Grant really sees how attractive she is and when she blatantly flirts with him later, Grant is shocked and excited. He tells himself that nothing can happen…she’s Quinn’s best friend. He’s been down that road before and it ended badly. Later, he heads outside and ends up seeing Avery except this time she’s crying. Grant comforts her and she opens up to him some. Grant can’t seem to get her out of his head after that.

Avery has her own issues. After a horrific incident in high school, Avery avoids relationships. She’s always found Grant attractive, but he’s never seemed to notice her until the engagement party. Quinn is her best friend and she doesn’t want to cause any issues with her friendship.

Grant gets a softball team going and Avery is on it. The flirty intensifies, but they aren’t doing anything about it. At Quinn’s wedding, things change. Grant and Avery can’t stay away from each other anymore and they end up having the best sex ever plus sharing secrets in the dark. Neither of them do relationships, but they aren’t ready to give this up either. To avoid the issues with Quinn, they decide to keep this thing between them a secret. A month later and everything is perfect between Grant and Avery. They are still keeping things a secret, but Grant wants to tell everything they are together. Avery is holding back. Grant knows he’s falling in love with Avery and it scares him. One night when he is at Avery’s house, his ex contacts him. What will he do? He’s never gotten over everything that happened with them. Will he throw away everything he’s made with Avery?

It may seem like I told you a lot of the story, but I don’t think I did. The real story is so much more than this. Grant has more than issues. He’s broken. His ex really did a number on him. He’s hurt and untrusting, but what gets you is that this cocky guy has these self-confidence issues deep down. He really believes that he isn’t marriage material. Avery is Grant in female form and together they can be explosive with passion and sex, but also timid and self-conscious with their emotions. Avery also has a tendency to push people away when things get hard.

When Grant’s stupid ex contacted him, I was shocked at his reaction. I wanted to yell at him, but it was like a train wreck. I couldn’t look away. Avery and Grant pulled at my heart strings. Grant was endearing regardless of some of the decisions he made at various points.

One important element that is worth noting…This isn’t really a series, but characters from other books are in this one. Jesse and Veronica from Separation Anxiety appeared in Second Opinion. If you haven’t read Separation Anxiety, you should. It’s an amazing 5 star read (my review from Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...). Lisa Suzanne is very good what she does and I look forward to reading more of her books.

What do you do when you don't like the answer to your question? Get a second opinion. Grant Carpenter fell in love at first sight with classmate, Rachelle. After being together for several years, Grant decides to ask Rachelle to marry him. He is shocked to say the least, when she turns him down, saying that he is not 'marriage material'. Grant is heartbroken and turns to booze and sex as a coping mechanism.

Fast forward several years to Grant's younger sister’s wedding to his best friend. Grant has known Avery, his sisters’ friend for years, but at his sisters engagement party, he sees Avery in a different light. They finally decide to hook-up on the wedding night. This is the first time since Rachelle that Grant wants more than sex from a woman; he might just want a future! Grant and Avery have a few secrets to work thought that nearly break them apart. Can they get past Rachelle and Avery's hangs to make a real go at something neither of them wanted to begin with?

Lisa Suzanne sucked me into Grant and Avery's tale of broken heartedness and hope. She wrote the character of Grant in a way that made me want him as my own, despite his whoring ways of the past. I want Avery as my friend! She puts everyone before herself! Both characters have been players in the past, but Suzanne lets their more redeemable qualities shine.

This is a fabulous book, written on an easy-to-read manner. The sex is HOT, but enough left to your imagination! Suzanne writes the characters in a way that makes you love them right away, everyone except for Rachelle that is. Her writing gives us an in-depth look at the way the characters are feeling, making us feel the same for them, want what they want, desire what they desire. I would recommend this book to any of my fellow readers!

Whoever said opposites attract apparently never met Grant and Avery. They are so similar in so many ways. They are both against relationships and commitments. They enjoy playing the field and keeping feelings not involved. Grant and Avery are both like this because of the past and getting burned by an ex, while they were each hurt in different ways both situations affect their futures greatly.

They have known each other for a long time, Avery is Grant's sister, Quinn's, best friend. I loved both Grant and Avery's characters. He's HOT and can be sweet and romantic when he's not man who rib it up!! She is a girls guy and is HILARIoUs, someone. I would want to be friends with. Avery has always been attracted to Grant and while Grant has always thought Avery was hot he doesn't really "notice" her until Reed and Quinn's engagement party. Talk about sexual tension!!!!! While they both fight what they are feel you can feel the sexual tension building. When it finally happens It's HOT HOT HOT. Neither is looking for commitment but can they continue to deny their feeling for each other? What will Quinn think about her best friend and brother getting together? Can Grant and Avery get over their past? So much stand in their way and this is a must read book!!!

I loved Separation Anxiety and Side Effects and loved Second Opinion even more. I loved that we got more Reed and Quinn and Jesse and Veronica in this book. Each book can be read alone but the characters loves are all connected. Lisa Suzanne is a go to author for me and I can't wait to read more from her,

Wow this book was hot and dirty!!!
Really enjoyed Second Opinion and I'm hoping there is going to be a follow up.
Both Grant and Avery are good characters but also stubborn at times with admitting how they both feel about each other as they have both been heartbroken in the past.

They have known each other for years as Avery is friends with Grants sister Quinn.
His feelings towards Avery change on the night of Quinn and Reed's engagement party.

Grant is a big time playboy who isn't ready for a relationship, he has a long string of one night stands but this all changes once he is drawn to Avery and he doesn't know why, Avery herself is afraid of relationships,so will they overcome this fear of relationships to give true love a chance or will they let it slip through their fingers?

I would definitely recommend Second Opinion as I thought it was a really good read especially if you love a good romantic, steamy read.
I will be looking at reading other books by the author as it was well written and had a good story plot.

I love Lisa Suzanne's books, and this one did not disappoint! After Grant is dealt a crap hand at love he believes it's not for him. He decides the best way to live his life is one girl at a time. Then one night, he opens his eyes, has Avery always been that hot? After some hot words were exchanged between them, he's confused. This is his sister's friend, and he never has "feelings" for woman. I enjoyed the banter between these hotties just as much as the story itself! Lisa really knows how to make her characters talk dirty, without even trying! This isn't a typical fall in love happily ever after story, Grant nor Avery believe in relationships or love. The whole way through the book I was cheering for these hotties to get over themselves! There wasn't any holes or lags, the story flowed straight through to the end, I could not put it down! I loved this book and can't wait for me from Lisa! Definitely a 5 star for me!

I am never disappointed when I sit down to read a book by Lisa Suzanne and this one was no different. I loved the characters and the way the story flows. I enjoyed the way that you got to see the events from the past that shaped Grant into the committment-shy guy that he is.

This is a story of a man, Grant, who has been hurt so bad in the past that he thinks he can't do committment and the woman, Avery, who makes him think that maybe he needs a second opinion. The only thing is Avery fears relationships too. Can they find forever in each other or will doubts from the past prove to difficult to overcome?

This is a wonderfully romantic, sexy story with characters that capture your heart. I highly recommend this story.

I've read all of Lisa's previous books and loved them. After reading this one it hasn't changed my opinion i still love all her books especially this one! Grant what can i say about him i love him! I love the way his story is being told its as if your in his head. Grant suffered a harsh rejection in a past relationship and it crushed his belief in love till his sisters weeding. That's when he really noticed their mutual friend Avery. Not only did he notice her he finally saw her as a woman not just a friend. Avery who also had past relationship problems that led her to just play the field as was Grant they gave it shot to play the field together be friends with benefits as i call it. But what they both where not expecting was to fall for each other. Too both believe in love again.

What do I say? I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, so I'll be honest. I love books that make me chuckle and this one did at times. In particular, the discussion about football. I'm a big fan of my hometown team and they were referenced. And not only that, there was a little trash talk about our rivals. I loved that. As for the rest of the story, I loved the way it was written. there was some excellent character development and while there were times I wanted to scream at Grant and tell him to "man up", it worked and fit the story. Lisa Suzanne has a new fan!

Loved this.

oh where do I begin? Grant he's hot he's broken he's just hot. Avery she's beautiful and strong and perfect for him. Rachelle selfish she is just selfish and I hated her. This book was my favorite out of them all, it's a story from the man's POV and it's great to read and learn what the man is feeling and thinking. Grants been hurt more than once and at times he did seem weak but I knew he wasnt. What Avery went through in high school is why she was afraid to commit. however these two just seem so perfect together. I adored this book so much.

Ever been told something about yourself that is like a slap in the face, but then you decide that it has to be the truth so you decide to live up to that expectation? Well Grant had, and maybe sweet, strong and independent Avery could help him with a Second Opinion.

I LOVED the flirting and playful banter! This book is HOT and DIRTY and FUNNY and AMAZING and can I PLEASE get some Peach Yogurt?????? I would definitely recommend this book!!

Grant was burned not once but twice by the same girl. He's done with it all and lives up the playboy lifestyle now. If he never let anyone in, he couldn't be hurt. Avery had also been let down by someone she loved. Both were emotionally damaged but when their eyes met across the room at Quinn's engagement party the heat ignited them both. After being together, they both knew something was different. Each time they saw each other they fell a bit more. The past and insecurities pop up...would they be able to hold onto each other or would fear keep them apart.

Lisa Suzanne has done it again. I love the characters in these books, even though they can be stand alone I think it means so much more when you read them in the order they came out. Separation Anxiety (Jessie & Veronica’s story), then Side Effects (Quinn & Reed’s story), and the latest Second Opinion (Grant & Avery’s story); they are all great stories alone but put them together and you have a whole collection of amazing experiences, time with family & friends, love & heartache, and a group of fun-loving individuals.
Grant is a playboy to the greatest degree. After having his heartbroken not only once but twice he has sworn off the possibility of love or marriage. He is content with this life of one or two nights with a girl and then never sees them again. At least that is what he thought, but when it came to Quinn and Reed’s wedding things begin to change. He thought there might be more in his future than he ever expected.
Avery is one of Quinn’s best friend and BNO (Bridesmaid Number One). She has known Grant for many years and has always thought he was hot but off limits being her best friend’s brother. Avery has a past that has made her fearful of commitment and trusting others. She has built a wall up and the furthest any guy gets is a great one nighter, no strings attached. So when the idea came up for the two people against relationships to get together for amazingly hot sex what could possibly go wrong? Everything!!!!!
Avery and Grant our fun, crazy at times, and always up for a round (or two) of undeniably some of the best sex you can even imagine. They are HOT together. This story was amazingly written. I really liked how we would get the back story to fill in the blanks to the histories that made these two people. The texting that they would do was quite funny at times I especially liked this exchange between Avery and Grant:
“You don’t have plans? – A I might if the girl I want to see says yes. –G Yes. –A”
“I’ll pick you up at seven. Dinner and a surprise. Wear shoes you can walk in. – G Deal. I’ll be the hot one wearing hooker heels. –A I’ll be the lucky one with the hot date. –G My date will be pretty hot, too. And he’s got that python in his pants. –A”
I have to say I absolutely HATED Rachelle. She is not a nice person, self-centered and evil. Her analogy with the sheet was very ingenious even though it was extremely mean!!!!
I really enjoyed every minute of this book. Thank you for another amazing book Lisa Suzanne.

Getting told you aren't enough for someone or something can shake your sense of self worth right to its very core, but being told by the woman you love, right after proposing that you're not marriage material...well that...that takes the cake, how does one even recover from that?? For years Grant has done lived his life focusing on his career and bedding hot women with no view to start a new relationship, the damage Rachelle did to his heart leaving a scar that may never heal.

At his sisters engagement Grant reconnects with Avery, his sisters friend and colleague and suddenly for the first time since Rachelle he's interested in something more than one night, and suddenly this girl he's known for years is making him want something foreign to his bachelor lifestyle.

Avery and Grant both have pasts that have changed them, have made them scared to try for anything more than casual sex, pasts that have left deep scars and unhealed hurts. Recognising something in each other, after the craziness of his sisters wedding they finally have their moment, confiding in each other and embarking on a relationship of sorts in private. But what happens when your past comes back, when the things you thought you always wanted are there within grasp once again? Do you throw away the one thing that finally gave you a much needed second opinion or do you take a chance on the past that you once believed was your future?

Told in a series of flashbacks, mixed with current day, Second Opinion is filled with heart, Avery and Grant are a perfect match of will, both comfortable in life, but sensing that the connection they have is stronger than any they have found in recent times. Enough angst to keep you intrigued, and witty banter to keep you laughing. Grant isn't your typical arrogant playboy, he's cocky sure, but he's a good guy underneath, never taking advantage of a girl and never promising anything more than what he can give. Grant is someone that I desperately wanted to find love, and Avery was a perfect match for him, what I adored so much was that both the hero and the heroine had a past, both played the field, both were strong and independent, they were a true match in every sense. Second Opinion is the third book in this series with recurring characters but can be read as a stand alone, I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and Lisa Suzanne never fails to draw me in immediately and keep me there, desperate to know what's coming next.

After being hurt by his first love, Grant becomes the quintessential playboy, a real hit it and quit it kind of guy, and it works for him until his sister's engagement party when he really notices Avery for the first time. He suddenly finds himself not quite ready to quit it anymore.

I have read almost everything Lisa Suzanne has written at this point, and I really enjoy her sweet boy-next-door main characters. Grant was a slight variation on that, being a playboy next door, but deep down you can tell he's still a genuinely good guy. I absolutely loved the relationship between Grant and Avery, and a lot of their interactions were hilarious. Their quick-witted banter had me cracking up.

You know it wouldn't be a book about a playboy without some hot sex, and the sex scenes in Second Opinion were definitely sizzling (I don't even feel the need to seek a second opinion on that matter).

I would definitely recommend this book to fans of more traditional romance that enjoy a little spice in their story.

I’ve never read a romance novel written in first-person POV until now. I must say; I’m so glad I did. I especially liked that it was written in the hero’s POV, which was totally opposite of what I’m used to. It was a very pleasant surprise.

I liked Grant from page one. His dialogue was enough to keep me reading. I couldn’t wait to see what he’d say or think next. His character was easy to connect to and root for. Although he has his flaws, I could’t help but to love him. Kudos to the author!

The pace was good, the narrative vivid, and the dialogue entertaining. The author created a fun way to learn to overcome lost loves, broken hearts, and feelings of betrayal. I liked the closeness of the family members and friends. It seemed so real.

To me this book was in a class of its own. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read. It wasn’t as strong and the conflict was short-lived, but despite this I was thoroughly pleased with this selection. I see no reason not to tell everyone to read it. It’s so enjoyable.

I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book was amazing. The characters were great and the way she writes the story you feel as if you were there with them. I loved that this was from his point if view and that the guy was broken and in need of a self esteem boost. The things that broke him were heartbreaking to read.

Grant was hurt badly in the past and didn't think he could do relationships anymore. He had a string of one night stands and did not want commitments. Avery makes him rethink his position and that maybe he can do relationships. He's drawn to her and he can't explain why. The thing is Avery is afraid of relationships herself. Will they be able to find love or will their fear cost them true love?

I highly recommend this book, it's very romantic and very sexy.

No Second Opinion needed for me; this book was great! It was beautifully written and very relatable.

Poor, poor Grant has been left not once, but TWICE, by the love of his life. Since then, he decided to be a player - never one to commit. My heart ached for him. He was such a sweet, romantic guy and this biz-notch kept screwing him over, even when she was not in his life! I just wanted to hug him.....really long....and hard.....

And speaking of sexual innuendos, they were spot on. The playful banter between Grant and Avery was super adorable.

Avery was a great strong willed character. She was a woman I could relate to. Not spineless.

"Feisty, controlling and interesting."

And yet her heart ached like everyone else. Enter Grant....

This story was a perfect combination of sexy, romantic and fun. At this point, I know I can count on any Lisa Suzanne book to NOT disappoint! ~ Krissy, 4 "I'm drunk on Grant Carpenter" stars.

Second Opinion is a bit different from the others featuring this crew. Grant and Avery are only looking for one thing, no strings attached. Too bad for both of them that they fall for each other. The chemistry between Grant and Avery burned through the pages. I liked how even though they were both successful and had great friendships, they sucked at relationships. But what I liked the most was how, although they were both scared, they both wanted to be together more than they wanted to be apart. Everything is going well until a blast from the past threatens to throw what they've built off track. Grant had his coming to light moment and good for Avery for making him work for it. And the ending, it was perfectly them...

This book had all the things I've come to enjoy from a Lisa Suzanne read. There was a great cast of characters, an interesting plot with a slight twist, some steam, a little drama and a good dose of humor.

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 out of 5 stars

Grant Carpenter thought he had found the love of his life. Everything was going great until the day he asked Rachelle to marry him. She turned him down stated that he wasn’t marriage material.

Grant is now broken. He doesn’t believe in love and he doesn’t do relationships. The night of his sister’s engagement party, his sister’s friend catches his eye. He has known her for a while but never really noticed her.

Avery is running from her own past. She cannot do relationships either. Both just want to have fun. Sometimes when you are not looking for something, it just happens.

I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to see Grant and Avery grow stronger as individuals together. Both their situations were heartbreaking and their love definitely made them stronger.

I don't know what to think about this book.
Wasn't a fan of the flashbacks I'd rather be told in present time a cliff note version than to read the past in full detail.

I didn't like the part with Alyssa. It wasn't needed. It was just there to push Avery out of the picture for a quick second but then he was infatuated again so I didn't see the point in having to read that.

These two main characters were the most stubborn I think I've read. Grant came around a lot sooner than Avery which seemed stupid because if anything Grant had more to get over from his past than she did.

The text message. What a idiot. The whole scenario was just a big 'WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?'.

I liked how it all wrapped up and everything worked out for the better.

Based on chemistry

I didn't really see the connection here other than lust. they didn't really get into character depth with each other. to me she was slutty and he definitely was any better. I just would have liked a little more of character for these two. and the hero's deal with his ex. come on. was was so special about the chick. Really it seemed like the H fell for anyone he had awesome sex with. the others were just hot sex. the h, we don't really get into her sex life, but obviously it's a lot.

whether I would recommend, just don't know. if you feel you want to read this based on reviews and book blurb then that's entirely your decision..

I actually gave this 3.5 Stars

I loved Separation Anxiety and Side Effects which are books one and two of this series. I wanted to love this one too but my love affair with this series lost a little with this installment.

I liked Grant and Avery's story but I just felt that their story was not that strong. I felt that this book needed more. I don't know what that is but it just didn't work for me. The book was an okay read. I think the saving grace for me was seeing the characters that I loved from previous books. I definitely liked the first two books better.

This was an okay read for me, albeit a little drawn out - it could have been much shorter. I felt there was too much repetition about Grant's love for his ex (it went on ad nauseum), in fact I didn't only skim over some of the chapters that reminisced, I skipped them altogether. I couldn't see how the in-depth detail of his sexual relationship with Rachelle was relevant to Grant and April's story.

To Grant: I get it. I get that you loved her (I was told at least 100 times), I get that you hold a candle to her. You wear your heart on your sleeve, but after four years, move on.
