Rate this book
When former FBI agent William Harrison begins receiving mysterious postcards with the signature “Echo Tango,” he’s alerted to a cover-up beyond anything he ever thought possible.

His informant turns out to be a guilt-ridden ex-operative in the Saint Mary Project, an ultra-secret program engaged in alien contact. The organization is wiping out loose ends, and Echo Tango thinks Harrison is the man he needs to stop it.

Thanks to a gunshot wound suffered in an attempt to thwart an armed robbery, the crime-fighting life is something of Harrison’s past. He keeps his shooting skills sharp but walks with a limp, and he is more likely to catch marital cheaters than anything else—as a private investigator.

But Harrison can’t shake the feeling that this case is meant for him. He enlists the help of colleagues and starts following the clues.

However, hired guns stand between them and the truth. There are also alien-human hybrids to contend with, but that’s not all. Harrison’s investigation turns up a powerful secret about him and his family—a secret that may just be what lets him end these unimaginable crimes.

Will Harrison discover and reveal the truth? Find out in Daniel P. Douglas’s thrilling UFO conspiracy novel Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project.

When former FBI agent turned bored private investigator William Harrison begins receiving unusual postcards from someone who claims to be an informant, Harrison is not quite sure what to make of it. As it turns out, the man behind those cryptic messages, Echo Tango, once worked with the Saint Mary Project, an extremely covert program working directly with alien contact and kept from the public eye for decades. Now that the program is starting to tie up “loose ends,” it is Harrison who is tasked with the mission of stopping the project before it goes too far. But uncovering the truth behind the Saint Mary Project will lead him to some unexpected discoveries, including a secret about his own family that could prove to be the key in preventing the perpetuation of this carnage. Find out whether Harrison can uncover the truth in the exciting debut novel from Daniel P. Douglas, Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project. Douglas specializes in conspiracy thrillers and other sub-genres of science fiction. For a debut novel, the book proves highly engaging. The author is new to the field of writing but has served as a civil servant and is also a well-traveled Army veteran. Fans of science fiction and UFO-oriented thrillers will not want to miss Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project. The book is out now, and more information about this title and Daniel P. Douglas can be obtained here: http://danielpdouglas.com/.

While conducting surveillance of a cheating wife, private investigator William Harrison sees a strange shining sphere darting through the night sky in Tucson, Arizona. Motorcycle cop Nick Ridley experiences radio interference while on patrol in Las Vegas, Nevada. A military convoy travels to the mountains near Las Vegas to conduct an experimental test flight, and while there observes a macabre encounter between an unidentified flying object and two military jets.
What do all these incidents have in common? You’ll have to read Truth Insurrection: The Saint Mary Project by Daniel P. Douglas to find out. Douglas, a former military man, has written a sci-fi thriller about the government’s cover-up of encounters with aliens from other worlds that will have you doubting every news report you read afterwards.
A chilling picture that takes us from the western deserts to the corridors of power in Washington, DC, where generals and politicians spar over access to information, Truth Insurrection is pure fiction – but in Douglas’s skillful hands, it has a tiny ring of truth. You’ll find yourself cheering for Harrison as he finds himself mired deeper and deeper in a conspiracy of galactic proportions.
This is Douglas’s first novel, but one has to hope not his last. I received a free review copy of Truth Insurrection, and now I’m looking forward to seeing what this author does next.

Although I am a big fan of Sci Fi, this is my first UFO conspiracy novel. I have to say that I really enjoyed this story. William Harrison is a complex character, and it’s entertaining to follow his story as his investigation develops. ‘Truth Insurrected’ also has some surprising plot developments that keep you on your toes till the very end. Despite his disabilities, the case that ‘Echo Tango’ was perfect for Harrison in more than one way. If you are a fan of UFO conspiracy novels (which I now think I might be), or if you like a little Sci Fi mystery, then you should definitely check out this book.

A great suspenseful read. Of course, Dan's a friend, so I guess I could be biased. :) But I'm pretty sure my appreciation for Truth Insurrected would be the same even if we weren't friends.

I liked the underlying theme of "truth is mighty and will prevail," but how achieving that doesn't come without sacrifice, commitment, and integrity of character.

Truth Insurrected offered strong writing, good action, lively and memorable characters, interesting settings, and a wonderful cinematic ending.

This is pretty much my favorite genre so believe me when I say you will love this book if you read UFO conspiracy novels. I checked out the author and I'm sure this book was more realisitc because of his background but the writing was good too.

The author takes you from action-filled scene to the next action filled scene so quickly you can barely catch your breath. I would recommend this book to general ufo conspiracy readers but also to anyone who loves good storytelling. The author surpised me in a good way several times in the book and that's impressvive.

A Lieutenant, Airman Bresch (driver) & Sergeant Eric Filipe Gonzales (USAF) were out in the lonely desert near Las Vegas when they observed 2 F-15 that came to intercept the UFO. The test site is known as Dreamland (Area 51). The 2 piolets whereabouts in unknown. The Lieutenant reported the incident to his commanding officer & was told to leave the area ASAP.

In Washington DC in an undisclosed area the Circle (St. Mary Project) that consisted of: General Edward Taylor (USAF), Professor Francis Moresby (Skywriter), General Randolph Randy Stone (USAF, Drum Roll), Admiral Horner (USN), Dennis (working group’s chairman), Colonel Bennet & General Lanham & other military met to discuss the F-15 incident, 2 other fighter jet incidents as well as the St. Mary Project. President Harry Truman had authorized the Saint Mary Project. President John Fitzgerald Kennedy had some idea about it.

The Circle was also concerned about Senator Vaughn (f, NM, former journalist, lawyer, Chaves County, executive, college professor) making waves on Capitol Hill about cattle mutilation.

Tucson, AZ, William Bernard Harrison (PI, 41, retired FBI, Willy, Bill) & Peter Pete Aaron Zemdarsky (PI) shared an adjoining office space. Pete surprised him & hired an intern Janice B. Evans (sociology, CJ).

William lived at 2402 Padre Lane in a townhouse in Arroyo Verde. William was getting mail entitled Echo Tango (49-082705)?

On the headline news; Harold Groom (death-row inmate, triple murder, computer executive, government assassin) had been found dead in his cell. He had also made incriminating remarks about the US government.

Later William received an envelope from the Florida coroner stating Harold had died of a heart attack.

Hmmmmmmmm. True/false William pondered did someone whack him?

How about the case files: Aurora, Silver Star, & Black Hole?

William was off to Las Vegas observing his own Sister Megan Ridley (Gonzalez) & her husband Eric Ridley & the baby Owen. William joined them for dinner but Eric suffered from what seemed to be an incident of Narcolepsy?

Art Holcombe (former FBI, aka Ronald Sheraton) came to William (aka Wesley Hiatt). The 2 were going to discuss the old Roswell NM case file.

Dr. Schmidt ran lots of tests on Janice & she appears to suffer from some sort of brain abnormality (3rd. generation alien-human hybrids) OMG its telepathic & telekinetic skills.

What is Janice brother James Evans (3rd. generation alien-human hybrids) up to?

Will Operation Rainbow (# 1 & 2) be successful?

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written sci-fi International clandestine/covert/espionage book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make great sci-fi movie, or mini TV series. 1 you won’t want to put down. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

Thank you for the free book (Story Cartel)

Private investigator, William Harrison, is bored with his routine investigations of insurance fraud and marital disputes, so when he receives a postcard from someone who signs himself ‘Echo Tango’ he is bemused rather than intrigued.

Then ‘Echo Tango’ steps up the stakes, directing William to seemingly straightforward deaths in accidents which turn out not to be so straightforward at all. Each contact brings Will deeper into a conspiracy that begins in Roswell in 1947 and is still going on.

Saint Mary turns out to be a place run by the Government, though what goes on there is something the powers that be don’t want anyone, least of all William Harrison to find out about.

The author gives us a startling, even harrowing picture of Washington Power brokers who regard their secret work as vital, and the way they go about it is cynical, unsentimental and totally convincing.

Will Harrison isn’t a gung-ho ex FBI agent, more a bored man looking for a purpose – however that changes when he comes to realise what ‘Echo Tango’ is aiming for, and Harrisons’ sense of right and wrong kicks in. There is also the young and very attractive intern, Janice Evans, who proves a distraction when Harrison needs to have his wits about him. Janice has her own agenda which her feelings for Harrison start to threaten.

This is Douglas’s debut novel, and although it’s compelling, I found the narrative dragged at times with extraneous conversations which did not progress the story. There is also a complicated sub plot with a policeman and his Air Force brother-in-law who has seen something he shouldn’t and needs to be ‘dealt with’. Thus I found myself skipping pages to get to the conspiracy stuff! However saying that, this author’s perspective on the ‘Are We Alone’ theory is fascinating and very different, as is his take on what the government would do about it if it were true.

The author writes beautifully with some impressive imagery and word building. Just when I was starting to wonder why ‘Echo Tango’ chose Harrison to set against the might of government, a secret is revealed about his family which lends an interesting twist to the story.

Let me start by saying that TRUTH INSURRECTED doesn't read like a first novel. The author's style and pacing kept me flipping through the pages. A fairly long book, 462 pages, it actually seemed much shorter. Good books will do that and then one can't help but be disappointed it's finished. But there will be his next book to look forward to picking up.

Private eye William Harrison, ex-FBI because of a bullet would that partially crippled one leg, begins getting mail from a "Deep Throat" type who calls himself Echo Tango, ET for short.

Harrison gets pulled into a six decade cover-up going all the way back to Roswell, New Mexico. Those behind it are ruthless in their zeal to keep it all under wraps. Getting help from old friends to try to uncover the mess, he learns things that involve his own family's past.

Terrific thriller. Look forward to Daniel P. Douglas's future works.

A true page turner! I read a copy available from Story Cartel, and could not put it down. I am a fan of both Sci-fi and Thrillers, as well as Conspiracy topics. Truth Insurrected has it all, as well as fascinating, well developed characters and an exciting story line. I hope there is a sequel planned, but in meantime, I will order the print edition of this when it comes out for myself and several other copies for friends and family. A great first novel, and a joy to read. Thank you Daniel P. Douglas!

Addressing  (from a fictional standpoint),  the long sought after truth about  government corruption and the obscuring of possible alien contact, UFO sightings and alien integration into the human race Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project by author Daniel P. Douglas transports readers with breakneck speed into the intense world of the science fiction /conspiracy thrillers.
A profoundly entertaining read, the book portrays the remarkable and confounding tale of Ex-FBI agent turned private detective, William Harrison. Harrison the story’s hero is a typical person; he is somewhat bored with his job and believes in the wholesomeness of a Democratic government.
However, Harrison’s life and beliefs begin to change radically after he witnesses a UFO, during a private investigation stakeout and later receives a mysterious postcard from an anonymous tipster Echo Tango containing an obscure message about a deceased conspiracy theorist. As Harrison begins to investigate, he soon finds himself deeply entangled in a machinated web of a government corruption, murder, lies, and cover-ups that center on UFOs and involves The Saint Mary Project. Purposed to hiding the truth about UFO encounters, abductions, technology, and hybridism, the covert Saint Mary Project conceals the facts from the public by any means necessary.  As Harrison begins to investigate the pieces of the growing puzzle, he finds that nothing is as it seems, as startling truths and connections are revealed.

As a first time author, Daniel P. Douglas did a phenomenal job of bringing to fruition a sophisticated thriller fraught with startling science fiction elements, plot twists, and a deeply intriguing story that builds the reader’s anticipation with an enticing and intricately woven mystery, purposed with dynamic action, realism and grounded characters. Additionally, the way he presented the military aspect of the story was authentically engaging, giving a realistically authoritative air to the book as the inner workings of the military, and its operatives are revealed.

I really enjoyed The Saint Mary Project; it was a riveting read that kept me rapt from the first to the last page.  As a true fan of the thrilling science fiction conspiracy genre, I found this to be a gripping read complete with the makings of a bestseller mystery, action, adventure and a budding romance. I particularly like the handling of the hybrid element, it is  somewhat reminiscent of the X-Files TV show, presented in a manner that is just as exciting as watching an episode of the show. I look forward to more works by this author and I highly recommend this book for fans of science fiction it is a read well worth the effort.

“Truth Insurrected: The Saint Mary Project” was published in 2014 and was written by Daniel Douglas. This is Mr. Douglas’ first published novel.

I obtained a galley of this Science Fiction Thriller novel for review through https://www.netgalley.com. I would categorize this novel as ‘R’ as there are instances of Mature Language and Violence. The novel is written in the third person and is set in contemporary America. The two main characters are retired FBI agent, now a Private Investigator, William ‘Bill’ Harrison and Las Vegas, Nevada Police Officer Nick Ridley.

Harrison is drawn into an investigation by an anonymous source. The more he looks into it, the stranger and more outlandish the claims seem to be, yet the evidence he accumulates indicates that it is the truth - Aliens did crash in Roswell, New Mexico in the 40s and the government is behind a massive cover up. The further Harrison digs, the more his life, and that of those around him, seem to be at risk.

Ridley experiences a strange incident, then he is pulled in by his sister as her husband, an Air Force traffic controller, begins to act strangely. Before he knows what has happened, he meets Harrison and is confronted with the conspiracy theory. Soon, he too is in danger of being included in an effort to clean up loose ends in the cover up.

I thought that this novel had a good plot, one that was not too outlandish. I liked the characters and enjoyed the 11.5 hours I spent reading this novel. I give this novel a 4 out of 5.

A powerful story with a hidden agenda reflecting on how difficult it is to differ between truth and lies.A long hidden military project and a former FBI agent, now a PI who is dragged into the deep waters keeps the reader's full attention as to what may have been hidden. UFOs, human hybrids and lies all come together to feature an exciting plot.

What a ride!

I've always been a fan of Tom Clancy... especially the Jack Ryan series. This is right up there... a group of people who believe in honor and willing to do what it takes to follow that path. Liked William Harrison and Art Holcomb, also the UFO connections.

Are aliens from outer space real?

The first time I read this story, the first three chapters speak of The Saint Mary Project, the Circle and several U.S. military officers of different ranks. I was totally confused and couldn’t get my teeth into the novel. As the tale moves along, then the protagonist William Harrison, an ex-FBI man from Tucson introduces the main events of this plot. At the same time, eighty miles out of Las Vegas, the police radio band acts up with clicks, and loud static, which is of major concern to Nick Ridly, a motorcycle cop. From then on, strong characters with definite abilities and tasks to perform are introduced. The story entails aliens, cover-ups, hybrids, secrets, citizens out to uncover the truth of Area 51 and UFOs. Harrison continually gets messages from a stranger leading him into various areas to investigate, but who will not reveal his identity and signs his notes Echo Tango or E.G.
The further I read into the story, the better it got. And all of these mysteries are revealed by the end, and who all of these military men are and their importance. After I finished the book, I went back and reread those first three chapters and they fit into the story beautifully. So I don’t know if is me or the structure of the novel that might need to be changed in some manner. But the story is almost a page turner, intriguing with unusual experiences and events that I haven’t read in novels before. I recommend this novel to readers who like several mysteries wrapped up in one novel.
I was given a complimentary e-book copy for an honest review.

First, I want to say that I received this book free from The Story Cartel in exchange for an honest review.

The story tells us about a part of the government that deals with extra-terrestrials. They'll stop at nothing to keep their work secret, even eliminate loose ends. Not everyone agrees with how they do things and someone tipped a detective about it in the hopes of unveiling the whole thing and stop the madness.

The book actually reads more like a thriller, or even a detective story, so if you're not too sure about science-fiction, don’t let that stop you. If fact, it dives more into the conspiracy theory than actual science fiction. Sure, you have aliens, flying saucers, and human-alien hybrids, which add a touch of mystery to it all.

Characters: There were a lot of colonel-general-admiral titles, which confused me a little, but that's only because sadly, I had to take a lot of breaks while reading. The civilians were easier to keep track. Overall, I liked Harrison. From the beginning, Mr. Douglas gave us a sense that Harrison was considerate, making him a likeable protagonist.

Was the book perfect? Probably not. However, it was a pleasant read. One that makes me wonder what might be kept secret in the false pretense that it's done 'to protect' us. Is it really in our interest? Food for thoughts.

(Forgot to add that it's a stand alone, no dreaded cliffhanger at the end.)

3.5-4 stars

This one, being a thriller, was a little outside of my usual genre, but I enjoyed it none-the-less. I had a little trouble keeping the characters straight for the first half of the book, I don't know if this is due to a lack of differentiation in the characters or my poor focus.

I greatly, greatly appreciate that Christians weren't vilified or mocked in this book. It's sad that that stands out these days, but I swear if you read many modern books you'll start thinking Christians are the worst thing since business men. ;)

The narrator was ok.

Couldn't get into it. I know judging by a lot of the other reviews that I seem to be the exception. Interesting premise for the story line but it just didn't do a whole lot for me. I had trouble getting into the characters. They seemed a bit shallow to me. The story seemed chopped up, didn't flow well and jumped around too much. Having said that I did finish the book. It is rare that I don't finish a book though this time I did consider it. May check out the author again at a later date.

I love sci-fi. However, this book, drug and drug. I struggled and struggled to read it. I got lost with who was who and ultimately I can't even write a good enough review because this book kept stalling out on me. I tried, but every time I thought the plot or reading would pull together, it didn't. I'm really disappointed.

Good read

Enjoyed the story line as it read like a good movie. The plot continued to keep me reading late into the night, not willing to put it down. I have been to most all the locations and served in the Air Force and Navy with 32 years of service. I can relate to quite a bit of the story. An enjoyable read

They are out there

Loved this book. Art Bell's Dreamland is for real. I am ready for first contact. Let the games begin. Good read. Fast paced. Would our government deceive us so?...YES! Remember, it's all about money or power. My problem is that I still believe in truth, justice and the Americn way...but I am niave and stupid.

I gave it a three for the writing. The plot moved along and I liked the characters.
On the downside, although I'm a big X-Files fan, the whole UFO conspiracy plot is pretty lame. All the cliché's; little gray skinned men, alien human hybrids, cattle mutilations, Roswell, secret UFO technology research, were trotted out. The author's talent would be better served by something fresh.
