King of Obsession is the first book in Bianca Borell's new Kings of the Underworld series. This book hooked me from the start, and i immediately fell in love with the characters. This was an intense, angsty, sexy romance between a female assassin and the mafia man she is sent to kill.

Luciana was orphaned and raised in an orphanage until she was taken in by a mafia leader and trained to be his assassin. She is known as the "Silver Death" and is one of the most lethal assassins in the world. She has been trying to learn the truth about her parents, so she jumps at the opportunity when one of the council members offers up information on her past in exchange for a hit on his rival family member. She goes to Reno, where Enzo is the capo, and actually fails with her first attempt. After that they play a game of cat and mouse. Luciana keeps putting off the kill, and her random attempts are basically like foreplay for them.

Enzo immediately becomes obsessed with Luciana and is determined to make her his queen. I loved how alpha he was and how she was able to be submissive with him in the bedroom. They had such amazing chemistry, and they were perfect together. Unfortunately, Luciana is forced to do something that leaves Enzo feeling betrayed and devastated. He wants revenge, and the second half of the book takes on all their betrayal and heartbreak.

I absolutely loved Luciana, and she has been added to my favorite heroines list. She is such a badass and so ruthless, but also shows her vulnerable side. I am picky when it comes to my badass heroines, and Bianca wrote her perfectly.

I almost lost it when the epilogue started, and I was worried Bianca was about to break my heart. Don't worry, everything ends with an HEA. Just be prepared.

I am so excited to get to Dahlia and Mika's romance next.

Luciana is trained assassin and when she wants to know about her past she must kill her next target Enzo but the only problem is that Enzo falls for Luciana.
Judging by the characters and the way they interact with each other they definitely both like each other. Both are definitely strong characters and with everything Enzo goes through Luciana is there for him and I absolutely loved how how Enzo helps her build her own identity.

I think I experienced every emotion while reading this book! Anger, sadness, anxiety, happiness, the list goes on and on. From the beginning, this book pulled me in and I could not stop reading!

I loved Luciana’s character so much! Not only was she a complete badass who was a highly trained assassin, she was emotional and genuine with every feeling she went through. It was almost as if she was a real individual experiencing the turmoils of life. She ruled alongside Enzo like a true queen and it was so beautiful. She was a fighter for Enzo, herself, and her protection.

Enzo - my love - you are such an amazing man! Watching him fall to his knees for Luciana and worshipping the ground she walked on was the most beautiful part of the story. Their love was so strong and full of spice and passion. The last couple chapters were my favorite as they exposed the raw emotion of their relationship - a profound love that conquered all.

Another amazing series just beginning! Bianca Borell brings us the first book in her new series, and I have to say—I’m completely hooked. From the very first pages, I couldn’t stop reading. I had to keep going to learn more.

I really loved the character of Enzo. From the start, he’s obsessed with Luciana, and he doesn’t hide it. He does everything to show her how he feels and isn’t afraid of anything—not even the fact that she was sent to kill him. His friendship with Mika, the Pakhan of the Bratva, was super interesting and great to read about.

Enzo’s protective side, especially toward his sister Dahlia, was one of my favorite parts. But now, I need to know more about her. Her past and what she’s been through really intrigue me. I also adored her evolving friendship with Luciana—it starts with hate and slowly shifts to mutual respect and recognition.

Luciana, our heroine, is such a badass. She’s willing to do whatever it takes to uncover the truth about where she comes from, even if it means walking away from her love for Enzo. I loved how, after learning who she is, she still chooses to build her own identity—this time, with Enzo.
I especially loved that even after everything they’ve been through, she still wanted to be with him. She truly loves him and fights for what they have.
And let’s not forget—she’s a total badass, and she proves it more than once!

One of my favorite things was seeing Cato, Hayden, Kieran, and Cameron again—it was such a treat to catch up with them.

Now I seriously can’t wait to read the next book!

This was hands down one of the best Mafia Romances I’ve ever read! I have never re-read a book, but I just may need to with this one! I was hooked from the very first page and completely devoured it in just two days.

Luciana and Enzo were made for each other, but when it comes to a Mafia boss and an assassin, nothing is ever simple. The relationships, the banter, the plot twists, and the spice were all absolutely perfect!

This was my first read from Bianca, and she’s already jumped straight to the top of my favorites list.

Sinfully yummy was what this book was. Enzo and Luciana's tale is tantalizingly dark and lush with steam. These two engage in a captivating and consuming dance of breathtaking drama, action, twists, emotion, intensity, suspense and tension that was simply irresistible.

Made into a fierce women who no one FAFO with, she’s is known all around the underworld but what happens when she meets her match and tries to take him out but fails. He falls for her first and finds her amusing.
This as a capitulating story, that had twists in it and the epilogue!!! It had me wanting to scream! I can’t wait for the second book and finding out for about him!

Wow, what a read and a great start to the "Kings of the Underworld" series!! I was invested in this story from when I read the blurb and it did not disappoint!
Bianca Borell knows how to write dark Mafia at its finest, and this book is all that I had hoped for.

"I was an orphan in a system with only two ways out: become a nun or a whore." Neither option appealed to Luciana, so she took the offer made to her by Augustus.

Being an assassin is all that Luciana knew, primed and trained from the age of 13 when her saviour, Augustus took her from the Monastery and moulded her into the killer she was today. Known as "Silver Death" she was an assassin to be feared as she never missed a target.....until Enzo!
She never knew where she came from and it ate at her until she did the unthinkable, and went against the Council and agreed to a task that she knew could be her undoing. Accepting the job, as Adamo Santino offers her crumbs of her past, promising her he knows who her parents were, she knew she could not refuse the job.
She flies to the USA and plans her next job, Killing Enzo Ferrara!
So begins the dance around Enzo and Luciana, as she tries and fails to kill him.
The chemistry and heat written into these pages is intense. Who doesn't love a dark Mafia Don falling for his assassin first. He melts as she entraps him, and the feelings are reciprocated, but Luciana knows that they cannot build a lasting relationship, as she lives in Europe and he lives in the USA. She is also bound by oath to Augustus and the Council of Twelve.
Their lives collide and sparks flew, with Enzo determined to make her his Queen.
Then the betrayal hits, and Enzo loses the plot!! As he would, but unknown to him, Luciana deliberately avoided killing him, making it look like a hit if viewed by any cameras in the area.
She upheld her side of the bargain, but due to Enzo not dying, Adamo refutes his claim on their bargain. She is enraged, and when the Council and Augustus cast her out, she realises she has lost everything.
Luciano lost the only thing important to her, that being Enzo's lover, woman, wife!
Enzo is out for revenge for her manipulation and lies and he knew he needed to extract his revenge.
An amazing story as Enzo captures Luciana but like her, he is unable to end her life.
How do they rebuild what they had before her betrayal? Easy answer: They don't.
Enzo makes her suffer, but at the same time he suffers right along side her as his love for her never died.
This story is gripping and has you hanging onto every word spoken between supposed enemies. Enzo has a secret that he finds hard to tell. What will happen when all is revealed? How does he let go of a woman that has captured his heart and soul, because he knows he will lose her once all is revealed!
The usual dark romance and drama that surrounds mafia families keeps you not wanting to put this book down. Betrayal and lies are an everyday occurrence for the Families of the underworld, and this story is no different.
This book does not disappoint on so many levels it is worthy of the 5 stars offered and more!

She knew what she wanted in life, and she held on; life dealt her some harsh cards, but she didn’t let them define her, yet she was also vulnerable, she put up a front for other but deep down she was hurting.

Writing doesn't flow really well. The conversation between characters doesn’t seem to flow either, is shallow and very little is said. It's lacking everything and is so chaotic. This book needs structure and good editing. The dialogue is just cringe, not much is being said and what is said is a whole lot of nothing.

The book felt very rushed and nothing is very well explained. The whole mafia part of this book barely consists. There is hardly a plot, other than Enzo obsessing with Luciana without any reason.

“Hungry?”
“I tried to kill you.”
I can’t help the grin tugging at the corners of my mouth. “Tried being the operative word.”
She groans. “You’re impossible.”
“And failed. Again. I wonder why. But I don’t think you’re ready to accept the truth, so let’s move past your latest failed attempt.”
“What is wrong with you?” she asks, a mix of worry and confusion laced in her tone.
“Hmm, wouldn’t it be stupid to trust the woman who wants me dead with all my secrets?”
“I’d keep them safe.” Her voice softens, and she must realize that because she hangs up.

What kind of conversation is this?

“I am not a backstabber, Luciana. I invited you for dinner, not to ambush you.”
“You could try.”
“You don’t have to be strong with me. I wear masks too.”

Why don't you both just shut up.

Back at the table, I pull out the chair for her. As she takes her seat, I crouch in front of her.

“What are you doing?” she asks in a high-pitched tone, looking around. “People are watching. What are they going to say?”

“That this is how a man treats his woman.”

“You’re not just any man. Your repu—”

I don’t let her finish as I pin her down with a hard stare. “Luciana, I treat my woman as the queen she is. If anyone has a problem with that, let them comment. Only one will make that mistake. I assure you.”

After dessert arrives, she’s about to bring the fork filled with a chocolate raspberry mousse to her mouth when I say, “I’ve been hard since we left your hotel suite.”

What was he doing crouching in front her? We will never know...

If she’s something, then mine. But his words hit the intended mark.

What does this even mean?

Revenge is all I can think of. It coats my insides, dripping from every fiber of my being. My heart wants its pound of flesh. We let her in, only for her to massacre it.

Massacre what? His heart?

I don’t aim fatally, but it has to look like Imean it. Then I speed away, driving to my hiding place and waiting.

I get confirmation that Cato survived, and I breathe a sigh of relief.

Why do you get confirmation right the next sentence?!

This writing is just ugghh.

From the first page to the last I could not tear myself away from this book.
This is my first time reading this authors writing and I can say for certain it most definitely won’t be my last.

This story has you on the edge of your seat for the entire book, there was drama, angst, sadness, happiness just every emotion you can think and i think this book touched on it. Can’t leave out the spice because hot damn was there some spice. I’m talking room shattering (that happened) Mrs and Mr smith foreplay with enough sizzling tension i was worried my phone would zap me while reading.

Luciana is a strong female assassin and I just loved her character. Shes completely out of her depths when it comes to feeling anything and enzo makes her feel ALOT. I wish she had let someone in on her plan but I suppose the book would have turned out differently. That twist in the middle had me crying and even though we knew what was going on no one in the book did and we went from so much love to so much anger and hatred and it was heartbreaking. Just when you think you know what’s coming next the author pulls the rug out from under you.

Enzo falls hard and fast for Luciano, from the first moment she tries to put a bullet in his chest he is obsessed and not afraid to admit it and honestly I just loved him. Their relationship is fire, passion and violence and it just works for them. I was a little angry at how things got so muddled, I feel like he should have known she couldn’t betray him but men sometimes get a little confused and angry especially when their “women” try to kill them.
I’m glad he realised before losing her completely.

I even loved the side characters and their relationships, Enzo and Mika are more than best friends. They are brothers and would do anything for the other, even go to war. Although there’s one thing that could send them to war with each other but Mika would have to grow a pair for that to happen.

Luciana and Dahlias relationship blossomed from anger, envy and hurt to love and sisterhood and I think it was something that they both needed in their lives. Also a little honourable mention for our big scary Kill for his love, drool and constant need for belly rubs.

All in all this was definitely a 5 star read and I look forward to reading more of Bianca Borell’s writing.

Luciana Rossi, aka Silver Death, at 13 years old she is offered an opportunity to become a trained assassin by Augustus Ducati, leader of the Underworld Council. Not knowing who her family was and where she came from she knew this was the only path to get out of the orphanage. She is a fierce assassin, never been in love, never missed a target and only has one goal…search for her origin. Her life is completely changed when she receives an order to kill Enzo Ferrara, Mafia Boss of the West Coast.

Enzo Ferrara, Mafia Boss, head of his family, son, brother and best friend to the Bratva Pakhan Mikail Morozov. He took over the family after the sudden death of his father and runs the underworld business with his best friend. He is bored with life but that all changes when he gets word that the Councils best assassin was given orders to kill him. He takes the news with excitement and considers it challenge, that is until he feels this unexpected pull and attraction to the beautiful and sultry assassin, Luciana.

Before I give you my thoughts you should know that Dark Mafia Romance is my absolute favorite genre so I tend to be a little critical with my reviews due to my own personal expectations. With that being said….WOOOOOW. This book is sooo good. I couldn’t stop reading it, it has lived rent free in my head since I finished it. Their chemistry is amazing and intense. You have love, betrayal, violence, the underworld, a major plot twist …and a HEA, if this is something you tend to enjoy then I think you would love this book too. I’m ready for the next book, I hope it’s Mikails storyline. Go read this, you will not regret it 💫

The Kings of the Underworld series has hit the ground running with King of Obsession, the story of Enzo Ferrara and Luciana aka Silver Death, the lethal Council assassin who’s been sent to kill him. Their story was a deliciously dark game of cat and mouse, of obsession and possession in the bright lights of Reno with Enzo determined to lay the world at the feet of the only woman he had ever wanted to claim as his. But Luciana has a reputation for never missing or fulfilling a contract so who will be left standing at the end?

For me, this has got to be the best book Bianca Borell has written. It grabbed me right from the start as Enzo and Luciana’s story played out in an enemies to lovers' trope before coming full circle to enemies once again before culminating in an epilogue that will, if you’re anything like me, have you forgetting to breath as you read it! They weren’t what you’d call likeable characters, Enzo arrogant and daring Luciana to kill him, not believing she would or perhaps I should say could while Luciana was a badass who could match him in the arrogant stakes but she came with an air of vulnerability around her especially when talking about her lack of a past after being abandoned at an orphanage as a baby. Another thing they had in common was they were both more than a little unhinged when it came to the other. It’s an overused phrase when they say the hero ‘will burn the world down’ for the heroine, not in this case, both would be quite happy to fan the flames of an inferno for the other. With sex scenes that almost had my kindle combust, a plot full of twists, turns and betrayal and a strong cast of intriguing secondary characters some of whom will be familiar from an earlier series featuring the Syndicate, their story was a rollercoaster of a read.

Our FMC, Luciana is an orphan, raised in an orphanage until she was taken in a trained to become a secret weapon. In known circles, she is known as ”Silver Death” a deadly and lethal assassin. But the one thing that’s been defined her is the truth about what happened to her parents. When an opportunity presents itself, she jumps at the chance, in exchange for information she must take out a rival family member.

Only when she doesn’t succeed, Luciana and Enzo are drawn into a game of cat and mouse. Because there is something about Enzo that speaks to her, the more time she spends not following through on her task, she finds herself falling for him, there game giving them instant gratification.

Enzo becomes enamoured with Luciana, to the point he is obsessed with her, her fiery sporty and beauty makes her a worthy queen and he will have her by his side at any cost. But it is his alpha dominant side that speaks to her submissive nature and she freely gives herself to him in the bedroom.

Together they’re perfect, their chemistry undeniable, but when Luciano’s hand is forced, the betrayal Enzo feels leaves him devastated, he wants revenge, because that alone won’t quench the heartbreak that he is feeling.

Despite the vulnerability that Luciana shows, she is a fierce badass that is ruthless and a heroine you’ll want to get behind. Because Enzo and Luciana both get the happily ever after that they deserve.

Holy assassin! There is nothing I love more than a strong, independent female who knows what she wants and Luciana has it in spades! Told in Luciana and Enzo's points of view this story is love and betrayal at its finest.

This story is wild and oh, so exciting! The way she stood up to Enzo and won him back with defiance and love is beautiful. I was also captivated by how Luciana earned respect from Enzo's family and friends by just being her sassy and gutsy self. 

Bianca Borell's books are filled with just the right amount of intensity, pleasure, pain and danger. Her characters are vulnerable, yet formidable. Her plots are entertaining, yet desperate. So, buckle up, folks. This is one wild ride through the depths of love and chaos that you won't want to miss! I can't wait to read Mika and Dahlia's story.

King of Obsession was such an interesting read that pulled me in right away! With all the twists and suspense, secrets and betrayals, and banter and chemistry, I was hooked from start to finish 🖤 I loved the writing style and characters, and I thought the plot was built up and written really well! Not to mention, the spice was ohhhhh so delicious 🥵

Luciana is such a fierce, strong, force of a women to reckoned with and I absolutely loved her. Her personality had it all, and it went perfectly with Enzo’s 😍 She’s seeking information and jumps at an opportunity to learn some, at the cost of Enzo’s life!
But they have instant chemistry, and when she fails to kill him she starts a game between the two of them, which is steamy, emotional, and tense!! I loved her character so much and how strong, yet also vulnerable she can be 🤍

Enzo is hooked on Luciana right away and is so amused and captivated with her, falling for her fast and hard 😍 He cares for her deeply and it shows in the way he helps her work on and find herself. But when he feels betrayed, he flips the table and things get crazy… He was never afraid to make his feelings for her known or fight for her, and he also had a way of making her submissive in the bedroom which sure was something 🥵 His character had a lot of growth and I loved seeing it!

This was an interesting, spicy, hooking read that pulled me in immediately and kept my attention! The plot was full of suspense, betrayals, loyalty, chemistry, and banter that I really enjoyed. Luciana and Enzo’s connection was just as strong as both of them are—total power couple!!— and I loved their story 🤍

King of Obsession has a lot of twists and turns, suspense and oh the heat. This is a cat and mouse game, let the chase begin.

Meet Luciana, she was an orphan and raised in an orphanage until one day she was taken in by a mafia leader with only one purpose for her, train her to be an assassin; and boy did he. She is known as the “Silver Death” the most lethal assassin in the world. Like many adopted children she wants to find her birth parents, and that is something her guardian and counsel is against, however she was able to convince one of the members to help her in exchange for her to do a hit on a rival family member of this council member.

Enzo Ferrara is an arrogant, cunning bastard. And he is gorgeous. Luciana finds him in Reno, and she attempted/failed on her first attempt in assassinating him. Oh, the fun begins. And every attempt after is like a tease, come and get me, here I am. The sexual tension is tense.

These two taunt each other, the weapons they use, and the attraction keeps building and building, he wants her. Things seemed to be normal for mafia normal, no one knew of these two getting closer, as she was searching for her real family.

One day, she does something bad, a betrayal, and Enzo is full of anger and hate, and now wants revenge, and now the assassin is now hunted!

This had it all, and kept you reading, the ending wow, but you will be ok. Great Mafia Romance, MMC was hot, and not afraid to show who he is, even though he was to kill her, but when these two were in the bedroom, all guns laid out!.

King of Obsession is amazingly written, exceptionally balanced with action/romance and beautifully executed by Bianca Borell. This is the first novel which I’ve read by this author and was completely blown away by the storyline. King of Obsession contains a marvelous plot, wonderful characters and an ending that absolutely took my breath away. The characters are fantastically written and perfectly executed throughout the book. King of Obsessions is the story of Enzo and Luciana. Enzo is your typical arrogant and cunning male who is absolutely scorching hot that it should be illegal. Luciana is sent by the Council to take out Enzo, she is a gorgeous lethal woman who is seen as the most revered assassin in the Underworld. The chemistry between the main characters is steamy hot and absolutely breathtaking. I loved getting to know both Enzo and Luciana as well as seeing their feelings toward one another grow stronger as their story progresses forward through the pages of this book. I love that they have a happy ending to their story with them being happy together as a true couple and welcoming their bundle of joy to the world. King of Obsession is absolutely a recommended mafia romance story for anyone to checkout and give it a read. I will be definitely checking out more of this author’s work in the future.

This is the story of Luciana and Enzo. This is also the first book in the Kings of the Underworld Series. I will go ahead and tell you that this book is one you will not want to lay down once you pick it up. Luciana is a female assassin. She is really good at what she does. She was raised in an orphanage until the Mafia took her in and trained her to be the best of the best assassin. In the Underworld she is known as Silver Death and has more than earned the name from being so lethal all over the world. One thing that has really been on her mind lately is finding out all she can about her birth parents. When one of the council members offers to give her some information, she jumps at the chance. However, to get this information she has to take a hit on a rival family member.This lands her in Rena where Enzo is the capo. She never expected her first attempt at the hit to fail. This is turn bt,egins a deadly game of cat and mouse. Enzo just might be a little obsessed with the deadliest assassin in the world. He is determined to make her his Queen. But first, he has to survive her typing to take him out. I loved this book. There is more going on than what I mentioned but I couldn't tell you much about anything, or that would be a spoiler.I love the connection these two have. They both are bad butts with attitudes who need each other when you get down to it. You do not want to miss this book.

I've read a few books from Bianca and have to say I ate this up!!! This is the first in a new series called Kings of the Underworld. This was an amazing, intense, sexy dark romance.

Luciana is a trained assassin known as Silver Death.....Luciana being orphaned at one year old she is then raised by nuns, only then to be claimed by a ruthless mafia leader and shaped into a weapon this is where she's ordered to kill a rival mafia boss, she expects to get out of there quick get job done etc but what she doesn't expect is Enzo.

Enzo has had a painful past and lost a lot, he no longer believes in love...that's until he comes face to face with the infamous Silver Death. He knows who she is and why she's come......but when he welcomes his death with open arms this sorta puts Luciana off kilter.

When she hesitates and she can't seem to bring herself to kill him, she's drawn to him in a way she's never been drawn to anyone before and this sets in motion a fantastic but brutal love story between the two. Enzo falls hard and he falls first can he melt the ice queen's heart? Can Luciana trust him enough or will she betray him?

Urgh I absolutely loved this so much and what a fantastic start to what looks like an even better series. I can't wait for book two.

The Lovely: I loved the chemistry between the MCs right from the start. SHe’s sent to assassinate him but things don’t quite go according to plan. Their banter is top tier and had me cackling much of the time, especially during the early parts of the book.

The Mundane: The pacing in the second half of the book felt slow to me and much of the inner monologues and interactions seemed repetitive. This made it hard for me to stay engaged.

Recommendation: The banter and chemistry made this a fun read for me. As I understand it, this series is set in the same world as the author’s Syndicate of Sinners series, which might be where I start next when I have some TBR reading time.

I am a lover of dark mafia romance stories, and this book does not disappoint. King of Obsession is the first book in the Kings of the Underworld Series by Bianca Borell. This story weaves passion and love, betrayal, secrets, pains and hurts, and is connected to others through oaths and promises. Luciana and Enzo live in a dark world.

Luciana (MFC – aka Silver Death) is a beautiful killer who was shaped by mafia leader to become his weapon. She is ordered to kill a rival mafia leader Enzo (MMC) who is faces Luciana head on. He knows who she is and without fear. When its time to kill Enzo, she does not complete the task. We journey through their emotional ride and cat and mouse adventure.

The support characters add to the depth of the storyline. Enzo’s sister is a standout and helps both Enzo and Luciana. The drama is full of twists and turns plus angst of their relationship. A good read.

An exciting dark and spicy enemies to lovers mafia romance.

The storyline is based on strong willed, determined orphan Luciana who has been trained all her life for her role as an assassin and her Smouldering, brooding, murderous man Enzo who has no room for romance In his life.
Luciana is tasked with the job of unliving Enzo in exchange for the information she desperately wants that could give her answers to who she really is.
Enzo knows she coming for him but as soon as he sets his eyes on her he is determined to make her his.
The attraction is undeniable and Luciana must decide between betraying the organisation head that took her away from the orphanage and gave her a life or risking it all for the man who promises he can get the answers she’s looking for and keep her safe?
When she appears to betray him he is determined to get his revenge but will she finally get all things in life she never knew she even wanted.
I absolutely loved the sexual tension between the main characters and the story kept me on edge and guessing the whole time.
This is one of my stand out Mafia reads for this year.
I just hope she will release another book in this series.

King of Obsession is book one of the Kings of the Underworld Series.

Damn, Luciana and Enzo had intense chemistry together. She was hired as an assassin to get rid of Enzo, but once she meets him they have such a connection together that she postpones her job. I felt bad for her at times because she was truly in a tough spot trying to figure out how to live her life safely and keep Enzo from being hurt. There are a lot of things she has to go through. Some painful moments where she has to reflect on everything she has done and hope to come out on the other side. There are some dark moments of doubt and worry.

Enzo feels betrayed by what he has gone through and does what he needs to in order to not appear weak. I enjoyed seeing him grow as a character. He really fights his feelings for a long time, but he finally lets his heart win out in the end.

I loved getting the introduction to other characters who I believe we will find out more from in the next books in the series.

Luciana is the best of the best at what she does. Although when she’s asked to do a hit on someone, she never expected that she would hesitate. The information she’s promised, and the threats made means she has to complete the job.
Luciana never let any man get close to her until Enzo, somehow, he breaks down all her walls.
Luciana knows what they have could never work but Enzo makes her want to try, until she’s gets a threat, she knows that could destroy her.
Enzo never wanted anyone before, their lives would be at risk, and he wouldn’t do that, but Luciana is different, he knows she would be more a threat to anyone then them to her. She makes him want more, he wants her to be his queen, and he will give her everything.
Enzo thought they were building something, he thought Luciana was actually considering leaving her life and making one with him, then he finds out she’s not and all he wants is revenge.

Starting this out by saying this is NOT my usual go to read genre. So take my review with a grain of salt if you will.

I found myself wanting to skip ahead through some of the story a bit. I found the “history” of each character too long.

That said, this book is phenomenal, but those small things took part of the 5⭐️ i would have given.

The message is clear, and Luciana is a badass. I thoroughly enjoyed her arc. Enzo is the fearless leader, and thoroughly enjoys the game of cat and mouse.

I did find it to be long, and felt it dragged out a bit but could be due to previous statements about the history.

Overall, i would recommend this to someone who enjoys this genre, and who enjoys a bit of suspense and hunting while reading!

This is the first in a new series, and this is Luciana and Enzo’s story.
Luciana is an assassin who is tasked to take down a rival mafia leader, in exchanges for information about her past, but nothing is straight forward. Enzo is arrogant and is impressed that the underworlds most rivered assassin is sent to kill him, and he laughs at her weapon of choice. A game of cat and mouse begins between them.
This is a well written intense, action-packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, drama, angst, tension, suspense, intrigue, enemies / lovers, betrayal, humor, witty banter, forced proximity, revenge, morally grey, secrets, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, dark mafia romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I loved Enzo and Luciana's story. Luciana is a top female assassin for the Council of Twelve in Venice because she is one assassin who never misses her target. She has to travel to Reno in the USA because her new target is Enzo. She finds him to be very elusive and cunning in his pursuit of her. Soon, she discovers she is doing something she would never do: fall for a man. Enzo and Luciana keep playing a cat and mouse game, but then Luciana finds her time running out to get her target. Will Luciana be able to fulfill her mission, or will she fail?
