Known as the pretty little heir to a lavish hotel empire, socialite Kennedy Nichols is used to the limelight, admiration, and most of all, having her way. Except when it comes to love and her future. Forced into an engagement to a man she fears for the good of her family’s business, Kennedy is desperate to find a way out of the nuptials, so she does the next best thing: runs away.
Jaded but hopeful, Keith Avery is doing his best to keep his head above water after a lifetime of screw-ups and letting down those he loves. Depended upon by those in his community and the family he has left, he has no time for games. And most of all drama, especially after being betrayed by the last woman he gave his heart to.
When Kennedy and Keith meet one fateful night, their differences and their hate is instant. To her, he’s a rugged, tattooed smug mechanic, and to him, she’s an annoying, spoiled ice queen. But beneath the hate is a simmering attraction neither can resist. Soon the two embark on a torrid affair that could leave everything they stand for in ruins.

Omg…I have zero clue where to begin. This book had me up at midnight crying my eyes out. I like arranged marriage stories with a secret affair story. What can I say. I will say though that middle of the story, I highkey wanted her with Cain as he was diving into his past. I knew the story was gonna end with Keith. But for a split second, I felt like she could fall for this crazy ass nigga. But I’m happy she ended up with Keith. Someone who actually loved her emotional ass. Keith did read when he said she wanted to be in that situation. Because money isn’t everything. She really was gonna be miserable for 3 years just to get some money. One thing it never was, was that serious. But 10/10 or 5/5 for good reads. A book I could see myself re-reading
Whew! This book was everything. First, when I found out this author also writes under Whitney Grandison, I KNEW this book would fire. We meet Kennedy, a rich socialite and Keith a mechanic that come together under strange circumstances. She had been promised to someone and Keith was just going to be a friends with benefits relationship. Of course it turned into so much more. But what about her prearranged marriage? You must read this book but make sure you have time because you won’t want to do anything else but finish this book. Can’t wait for the next one!
This one gets a 3.5 from me!! I hated Kennedy's situation so bad! I loved that she and Keith found another and it was funny how it was supposed to just be sex but was nowhere near that lmaoo. Cain wanted the idea of Kennedy and that marriage was never going to work, especially once she really fell for Keith. I really enjoyed this one but I hate that we didn't see more at the end. They mentioned Keith & Kennedy spent some time apart, and I would've loved to see how Kennedy was finding her footing and discovering what she wanted to do before we got the little update on her and Keith (and I say little bc another chapter or 2 of them in their official relationship would've been nice!)

Ms. July I was sat for the last 2 days trying to finish this book. I am a sucker for the bougie girl trope and you did it so well. And Keith!!! 🩵👀 OMG he's a man's man fr fr. Ngl I felt for Cain, but he was a little too unhinged for me. I am excited for his story but ummm he's gonna need a lil shaping before I gush over him lol😭. But back to Kennedy and Keith, the banter and just pure passion was so palpable I was talking back to the book like an episode of The Office 😭And ofc spice was 10/10, Keith did not come to play! 🩵🩵🩵
Saw the author on tiktok promoting the next book in the series is Cain’s story and it has some of my favorite tropes so I obviously had to read this one first. I’m actually glad I did it’s super cute and cozy. I almost put it down a few times (mood reader problems) but I pushed through and ended up loving it. The story was beautiful. I really loved watching Kennedy stand up for herself at the end. I read this for Cain’s story, but I ended up hating him at the end😂. I’ll get over in the next book though. So glad I read this book I’m definitely adding this trophy to my shelf.
This was a different arranged marriage book but in a good way. Definitely a good read. I do hope we get some follow-up on Keith & Kennedy before the series ends. Def 4.5 stars
4.5⭐️This is my first read from this author and I enjoyed it! Keith was the best! Kennedy was just trying to figure things out and finally she did. Cain needed a hug and to sit on the lady’s couch😂. I look forward to reading more from this author.
