What the World Rejected: Hitler’s Peace Offers 1933–1940

Rate this book
Written by Germany’s foremost diplomatic historian of the early twentieth century, this work maps out all the numerous times that Adolf Hitler made unconditional offers of peace to all the nations of Europe—and how the major anti-German belligerents, France and Britain, turned down these offers each and every time.

The author lists all of Hitler’s offers in detail, complete with quotes, starting with his first offer of May 17, 1933, his second offer of December 18, 1933, his third offer of May 21, 1935, his fourth offer of March 31, 1936, his fifth offer of September 30, 1938, his sixth offer of December 6, 1938, his seventh offer of late 1939 to Poland to settle the Danzig Corridor issue peacefully, and finally, his offer of world peace on October 6, 1939, just over a month after Britain and France had declared war on Germany for invading Poland on September 1 (but not on the Soviet Union, which also invaded Poland on September 17).

Excellent short book.

It provides a small piece of the puzzle for understanding WWII and the ideology of Adolf Hitler.
It is a small but valuable piece of research to understand that it was not Germany that was responsible for WWII as it is commonly believed.

The book brings verifiable historical evidence of Hitler's attempts to avoid the war and to make peace with the West even after Germany had been bombed. These attempts are surely genuine because the peace offers were made while Germany was in a position of strength.

An eye opener for sure. Goring's warnings to Churchill were prescient.

9.9/10.

Essential documents that destroy the Great Cause of the all-good Allies, not through propaganda, nor through wordplay, nor through censorship, nor through social ostracism, but by revealing the true words and beliefs of world leaders during the 1930s and 1940s.

It's nothing short of a tragedy, and worse yet one that was planned and executed, that the Powers That Be rejected so many offers of peace from Germany. It was never about the "threat of war on the horizon" from Germany, as the propaganda claimed - Germany never wanted war at all. It was that the PTB and their powerful international financial control were dead set, drawing on an ancient hatred, to completely wipe out Germany. And this wasn't a secret; refer to Theodore Kaufman's book written in 1939 and published in 1941 titled, "Germany Must Perish!" In this influential work Kaufman calls for the genocide of all German blood. Contrast that with German policy which wanted to avoid war, establish peaceful national boundary agreements, offered numerous peace offers, and wanted each nation to preserve it's own people and culture, which obviously included Germany preserving German ethnicity, culture, and heritage.

As uncomfortable as it may be, we have been sold a bill of goods on 20th century history that is grossly distorted and often outright false. Here in this book, Friedrich Stieve cracks open that vault door where so much history has been purposely hidden from us, and shares verified, documented, irrefutable proof that Germany sought only peace to try and avoid war at all costs, and that the nefarious Powers behind the scenes of Western governments were actually the ones thirsting and foaming at the mouth for war. This is a must-read for history buffs.
