If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. I love this book so much.

Plot is fantastic, characters are great, spiciness is on point 🌶🌶🌶🌶 (came in at the right time), length of chapters are great, twists are great, pace of the book is fast, the ending had my jaw dropped. I was not expecting that. Nor could I have even guessed it.

This book is a must-read and will have you hooked by the first chapter. When you think you have it, figured out you don't.

I can't wait to read the sequel. If you haven't read this yet, you need to now. It's by far my favorite book this year!

“The Secrets Of Forest Lane” by Sian Morgan is an exciting, spicy read packed with chaos, secrets, and deception. Everyone on Forest Lane has something to hide, and the question of who killed Jasmin kept me hooked and guessing the whole way through. It’s a twisty, scandal-filled mystery you won’t want to put down! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Although it did feel like I was in some spicy Desperate Housewives series rather than a thriller novel, it was an enjoyable read and I flew through it in 2 days! 👌

I decided to read The Secrets of Forest Lane after the author reached out to me on TikTok. I had just started my BookTok account and, like many of us early on, was still finding my footing. She generously offered to send me the prologue for free so I could get a feel for the book, and I agreed—happy to support a debut author, especially one bravely putting her work out there.

That said, my review comes in two parts: the story itself and the reading experience.

Plot-wise, there’s plenty to dig into. Told through multiple perspectives, the story centers around Lily, who’s moved back home with her daughter after a breakup—only to have her younger sister Jasmin go missing. We also follow Tom, a man seemingly incapable of staying faithful, and Katherine, a woman trying to reclaim her life from her controlling husband. The drama builds quickly, sometimes veering into soap-opera territory, but that actually added to the fun in places.

I didn’t necessarily like all the characters, but I don’t need to. I did find myself most drawn to Lily, despite some questionable decisions on her part. Her situation felt grounded in the kind of complicated reality many women face. Meanwhile, Tom occasionally earned my sympathy—briefly—but ultimately lost it just as fast. And Katherine, well… let’s just say her unraveling felt plausible, even if a little misdirected.

The central mystery—what happened to Jasmin—held my attention. While some twists were predictable, there were enough surprises to keep me invested. If I were rating this book based solely on plot and character dynamics, I’d land around a 3.5.

But here’s where things get tricky: the editing, or rather the lack of it, really affected my reading experience. I completely understand that errors slip through, even with big-name authors. But in this case, the sheer volume of grammatical inconsistencies, punctuation issues, unnatural dialogue, and continuity errors was distracting. Things like mismatched quotation marks, stiff sentence construction, and point-of-view slips piled up and pulled me out of the story more than once.

This isn’t about nitpicking—strong editing makes a story shine. And I genuinely believe The Secrets of Forest Lane could shine brighter with another round of revision. There’s a compelling story at the core, but it needs polish.

Final score? I’m settling at a 3 overall. I respect the author’s ambition and her hustle—self-promotion is no small feat. I hope she continues writing, and I hope future projects get the editorial support they deserve.

Wow! Wow! wow! The cover of this book seriously needs a warning!

There are secrets in abundance in this fast-paced story of the residents on Forest Lane, brilliantly brought to life by Sian Morgan. The main characters will weave you into their worlds, leaving you gasping and in need of a stiff drink!

I really don’t want to give any secrets away, so if you’re looking for a tension-filled thriller that pulls you in from the very first page then you’re in for a treat with The Secrets of Forest Lane.

I was lucky to be chosen as an ARC reader for this book and can say say without any doubt whatsoever that Sian has a real talent for this genre and I honestly cannot wait for her next book.

What a read. This is a dark saucy thriller about a young girl who goes missing and a street full of neighbours who all have secrets and can’t be trusted. When the gorgeous Tom bumps into Lily at the school gates it sets into motion a chain of events that no one could imagine. As she fights her attraction to him because he’s married maybe Tom is not as squeaky clean as he appears and when Lilys sister goes missing after a night out she is determined to find out the truth and who she can trust. Sometimes the secrets behind someone’s curtains are deeper and darker than anyone can imagine and those perfect lives are built on lies. Don’t miss this book.

Firstly, Thank you Sian for allowing me to have an ARC copy of this book.
(Rating to come once I've gathered my thoughts)
I loved reading this book. It had me on the edge of my seat with the many twists and turns. I was second-guessing everything and everyone.

Sian did a brilliant job of making me not trust the secretive nature of the characters. It is a never-ending battle of who is telling the truth and why did they do this? I enjoyed the use of the different POV characters to gain an insight into their thinking

The author approached me directly offering me a copy of the book for an honest review. This book had a bit of a slow start for me and I’m not a fan of spice in a thriller but once the actual murder took place there was a drastic change in pace. It quickly became a fast developing riveting story with one revelation after the other. And then there was the cliffhanger at the end. Thank you to Sian Morgan for this copy of the book it ended up being quite an enjoyable read. This was a solid 3.5 read which I rounded up due to the exciting end!

ARC review: The Secrets of Forest Lane was such a good books. I had been completely wrong about who was the killer in this book. When the author exposed the real killer toward the end of the book I was so surprised and then it takes another twist I didn’t see coming. I would consider The Secrets of Forest Lane to be top 3 on my thriller list for this year. I definitely recommend giving this book a read.

I absolutely loved this book. It was like Desperate Housewives (TV show) meets a murderer... but better!!!
The different POV's were very well orchestrated, something that would normally annoy me but this still flowed through really well without feeling like you're jumping from one story to another.
The book has you hanging from start to end with great twists and turns along the way.
Highly recommend!!!

This book dives deep into the dark secrets of a seemingly perfect neighborhood. Lily's search for her missing sister, Tom's blackout-fueled guilt, and Katherine's fight against a controlling husband all collide in a gripping, emotional story. With sharp twists and layered characters, it's a compelling read that proves no one’s life is as perfect as it seems.

There was A LOT going on in this. I was shocked that there was some spice in here too. I did not see the twists and turns coming and I did enjoy this book BUT I just felt like it was a lot in every chapter and some things felt rushed or incomplete.

A murder mystery with spice! Enjoyed the story and wanted to keep reading to find out what happened. Gave it 3 stars purely on my own preferences that I’m not really keen on reading about cheating. Other than that, it was a really good storyline and I was hooked!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️.5

The Secrets of Forest Lane by Sian Morgan is a masterclass in psychological suspense. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The story is expertly told through multiple points of view, offering a rich and layered look into the lives of a single neighborhood—where every secret, every decision, and every seemingly small moment weaves into something much larger and more dangerous.

The author does a brilliant job of exploring the butterfly effect through character-driven storytelling. Each perspective adds depth and tension, and the way their lives intertwine is both chilling and compelling. The twists are sharp, the pacing is tight, and the “OMG” moments are frequent and genuinely surprising—I found myself second-guessing everything.

It’s one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in a long time. If you love complex characters, shifting narratives, and crimes that unravel in unexpected ways, this one is a must-read.
