Nearly four hundred years ago, Sarah Latham and William Fuller disappeared without a trace. Legend has it she was a wicked witch and he was her demon. Legend also has it that whenever a Latham descendant reaches thirty years of age, Sarah comes to drag them to Hell. Good thing twenty-nine year old Elizabeth Latham doesn’t believe in legends. Or at least she didn’t until she happened upon a woman in the family cemetery who just happened to look an awful lot like the paintings in the local museum. Elizabeth is determined to stay ground in reality, but her idea of reality is shattered when she realizes Sarah and William have returned. But Elizabeth quickly realizes that Sarah is about as far from wicked as William is from being a demon. So if Sarah hasn’t been killing generations of Lathams…who has?

I loved this story. Simply loved it. The characters, the story, pretty much everything about it, except perhaps the length. A part of me would have liked more time with these characters, more chance to get to know some of them better, just...more. And yet in this instance, I think the work as a whole might have suffered had it been extended out very much more.
I'm not usually into vampire/witch stories but when I came across this one it peaked my interest.
I enjoyed reading The Legend of Sarah Latham. It is a very interesting and sweet story of Sarah a woman who was a witch in the 1600's and William a vampire.
They save each other on more than one occasion. They have an enduring love.
Sarah is a witch in the 1600's trying to live her life with her family and her husband under the radar. The town folk come looking for William Fuller who they believe to be a blood drinker. Sarah saves her life but has to go into hiding for 400 years. Then she and William finally travel back to Salem and finds out someone is hunting her descendents.
I'm not normally one for short stories. I never feel like I get the complete story, or the ending is not enough. The entire time I read this book all 40 pages held my attention. The best part is there was just enough information about the characters with out making the book drawn out. I never felt that I was missing a piece of the puzzle. I am looking forward to a spin off to see what Elizabeth does. Great job to the author and I recommend this short read!
DNFed at 38%. It's very clumsily written and seems dead set on assuring me that the witch and the vampire are good people, really, they just occasionally murder folks who haven't done anything to them.
