Oh, gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh! I LOVED IT. I bought this book because the author is a Facebook friend, and I really hoped I would like it but I never expected to love it as much as I do. There is a wonderful rhythm the the writing and absolutely adore the characters.
Tan, Tatum Osborne, is wallowing in the pain from losing his wife and daughter several years earlier but when a friend sends McKinsey Morrow to him because someone is sneaking into her house, he begins the journey back to life. That is a really good thing because it turns out that McKinsey, whose life has always been filled with love and support, is now the focus of a serial killer!
This was an absolutely perfect book for me. The suspense was sound and the characters where awesome. Now I have to go back and read her first two books.
I was totally taken by this story. The writing style was good, the story flowed well, and the characters were terrific. The story was an interesting combination of things. I thought Mc Kinsey, the main female character, and her best friend Jessie, were a hoot! Mc Kinsey is in no way a pushover; I liked her “style” of usually facing things head-on and not backing down. The only time she doesn’t seem to do this is when it comes to her relationships (parents/boyfriend). This was a mystery/intrigue/romance. Someone is messing with Mc Kinsey and later we find that she has been targeted by a serial killer. Tank (Tatum Osborne) is the PI that is recommended to her by her boss. Overall, the dynamics between Mc Kinsey and Tank was written in a realistic way. This is the first time I’ve read a book by Cheri Lewis, now I’ll have to look for more stories by her.
Tanked by Cheri Lewis is a goodread. She creates wonderful and quirky characters and then moves them through the story with empathy and humor. Ms. Lewis does a good job of building suspense and tying up loose ends in Tanked. The sub-plots are interesting and one hopes that these sub-plot will go on to become major stories in their own right. A fun and entertaining read---perfect for a day at the beach or an evening by the fire.
