I should start by saying I am a huge fan of Glenn Medeiros’s music. Always have been since he exploded into the chart with NGCMLFY way back in 1988 just before my 13th birthday. All my peers were swooning over Bros, Brother Beyond and Kylie, but I was different. Have all his albums and almost 38 years later still play them lots and absolutely love them.
Anyway, so I saw this new book out and I was intrigued. Interested to read about who he was as a person and find out more behind the scenes of his musical career, some of which is sad reading but I was so pleased to see how he had fulfilled his life outside of the music scene and gone into a career he loves and excels at. I found the book inspiring, how he writes about leadership and team building skills and how they can be applied no matter your vocation and even within your own home was interesting and thought provoking, how he moved from performing to education and president of a high school.
Also some beautiful photos at the end were lovely.
I throughly enjoyed this book :)
It may not be a book people would necessarily pick up, especially outside of America, but if you are someone looking to become a better version of yourself, his outlook, thought for others and hard working mentality might just inspire.
