Chasity Bowlin Gina Conkle Jude Knight Edie Cay Christina Diane Christine Donovan Sheridan Jeane Kelsey Swanson E.L. Johnson Peri Maxwell Tess Thompson Margaux Thorne Caroline Warfield
USA Today Best Selling author and Winner of the 2019 Romance Through the Ages Award for Georgian/Regency Romance, Chasity Bowlin is the author multiple bestselling historical romance novels, both independently and with Dragonblade Publishing. She lives in central Kentucky with her husband and their menagerie of animals. She loves writing, loves traveling and enjoys incorporating tidbits of her actual vacations into her books. She is an avid Anglophile, loving all things British, but specifically all things Regency.
Growing up in Tennessee, spending as much time as possible with her doting grandparents, soap operas were a part of her daily existence, followed by back to back episodes of Scooby Doo. Her path to becoming a romance novelist was set when, rather than simply have her Barbie dolls cruise around in a pink convertible, they time traveled, hosted lavish dinner parties and one even had an evil twin locked in the attic.
The Duke's Delayed Wedding Night By Chasity Bowlin
4/5 After her wedding, Verity seems to have changed to be a different person. After 4 months of marriage she disappears without a trace. 8 months later she is found with her memory missing and confronted by a man she doesn't know claiming to be her husband. Open Door
Forever with a Pirate Duke By Gina Conkle Not a fan of the author skipping
With a Valet in a Wardrobe at Midnight by Jude Knight
Gary and Jenna meet trying to prevent her sister to his besties wedding from being called off. 3/5 it was enjoyable clean little story. I liked that this author explained how these characters are intertwined in her stories.
The seducer comes to call by Edie Cay
Don’t enjoy this author so did not read
Trusting the dukes son by Christina Diane
Fin and Jenny have fallen for each other and their charity work for women in trouble brings them closer together. His father and her brother work to separate them but will their love win?
3.75/ 5 really enjoyable to me. I want to read more by this author in the future. I like the plot as it didn’t lead to white savior complex which is so easy when it is about slavery. (note this one isn't about slavery just a note from my brain)
Midnight masquerade by Christina Donovan
I don’t like this author I will skip.
Duke by dawn by Sheridan Jeane.
Evan and Violet were in love previously however insecurities drove them apart. Now that they have found their way back to each other will they allow the past to prevent their future?
I was really into this story, I was captivated. But it ended so abruptly and in an incomplete way to me. The ending didn't wrap the story up completely. The was clean. 2/5
The duke of the Covent garden by kelsey swanson
I liked this one quite a bit. 4/5 It is a story about childhood friends to lovers. With a bit of revenge on the ML's part, but it is not revenge against her. He is self made and she is going to be in the poor house cause her brother is awful. He is a cat dad so automatic swoon from me.
the wanton maid by EL johnson 4/5 I need to read this author's next series, I have read several of her short stories in these anthologies and enjoyed them all. This one is a dinner party mystery about a thief at the Ton's parties. With a the right amount of romance. It is only kisses but they are good ^.^
A duke at the opera by peri maxwell This was a well developed story about a widower finding herself after deciding to move on from her husbands passing. Silas and actor in her opera house has his eye on her and wants to create a future with her. 3/5 interested in reading another story by this author in the future.
Dawn's Light by Tess Thompson
Really enjoyed this one. our main characters were in love but our ML called off their courtship without explaining why. Our FL devastated but needing to help her family financially married a kind older gentleman looking for friendship and assistance in his final years of life. Our duke must marry ASAP and is reunited with our FL. I liked that she wasn't a widowed virgin and that she enjoyed having lovers. Our Duke was jealous over that but understood as she never understood why he left. It was clean still even though the topic of sex was on page. 4/5 A deal with the duke by Margaux Thorne The brother from the last book in Math Made in Heaven which I highly recommend. This is well written and engaging but the ending.... Please tell me there is going to be an extension of this story. WHAT?!?! Where is the rest of this story. I need more. 3/5
Music in the night by caroline warfield
This is a second chance love story. Two young music lovers are ripped apart by Annie's mother and meet again by chance 7 years later can they find happiness and love?
They spent most of this apart on the pages. It was interesting but I found it a bit boring. 2/5
There are 12 authors in this Anthology but I only read 4 authors on the list so those were the only stories I read. Not a fan of anthologies but don't want to miss out stories by the authors I read. These were all really good and would have been great as longer reads.
The Duke’s Delayed Wedding Night by Chasity Bowlin This is my 51st book by Chasity Bowlin. I have been reading her books since mid-2017. I know she isn't normally super steamy but I've been reading her for so long and she is such a good writer, I don’t care and she gives just enough. I know I'll get a good read from her either way. She is on my list of favorite authors. I really loved this story. I liked the storyline and I liked Verity and Colin. Their chemistry and their sex scene was hot. One of the reason's I am not of fan of these Anthologies is they are so short. I would have loved this one to have a bit more to it but considering it's length it got decent depth.
Trusting the Dukes Son by Christina Diane I just started reading her in Dec, 2024. This is only my 8th book by her. Her stories are well written and sex is pretty good. I liked this story. I liked Jenny and Fin. This was a super short story but still enjoyable.
Midnight Masquerade by Christine Donovan Christine Donovan is a new author for me. This is only my 2nd book by her. I really liked the book cover of book 1 so thought I'd check her out. She is also published by Dragonblade and a lot of my favorite authors are also published by them so that helped me decide to try her out. She is not super steamy but overall I really enjoyed book 1 so looking forward to this one. I really liked this book a lot. I wish it would have a been a full book. It would have made a great story.
The Duke of Covent Garden by Kelsey Swanson Kelsey Swanson is a new author for me. This is only my 4th book by her. My first book by her was The Viscount's Second Chance from her Later in Life series and really liked it so was looking forward to reading more by her. I have also been loving her Spy Society series. I liked this story too. Sex was hot.
Again, all these could have been even better reads had they been longer stories but overall they were good.
As anthologies go, this was very standard fare. Some very strong short stories that piqued my interest in looking at the full novels of some of the writers. Minimal errors noted throughout. I did not read every story, but below is the individual ratings for the ones I did:
Duke's Delayed Wedding Night ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was quite fast paced, which is understandable given its a story in an anthology. That being said, the story itself was very good, had it had room to breathe, the characters would have felt more fleshed out. I didn't like that the sister basically got shipped off for her crime.
Forever With A Pirate Duke ⭐️ Just didnt connect with the story whatsoever
With a Valet In A Wardrobe ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ This was fun and well fleshed out, seeing as these characters are part of a larger series, I might check it out next time Im in mood for Victorian romance
The Seducer Comes to Call ⭐️⭐️
Trusting the Duke's Son ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Midnight Masquerade ⭐️½
Duke By Dawn ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Oh, this was one I wanted more of for sure. I love a good mystery
Once again an absolute delightful anthology of short stories. There are thirteen stories, each is well written & are ideal for filling in an hour or two or as late night reading knowing you won’t be awake at dawn to finish a story. Whilst they are all very good my two favourites were
With a Valet in a Wardrobe at Midnight - Jude Knight -. Loved it! A delightful young couple & an all seeing elderly Duke
Music in the Night - Caroline Warfield - Owen has his story & finds his long lost love in the unlikeliest of places. A lovely story I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own
This anthology has a few favorite authors, including Caroline Warfield, Tess Thompson, E. J. Johnson, and Jude Knight. There are thirteen short stories in this anthology. I am disturbed that so many of these stories are just porn-plots (methods to show the characters involved in sexual encounters). If I'm considered a prude for feeling these stories were not Regency-era novellas, that's fine. However, I'm disappointed. I won't order any more Regency anthologies without checking some reviews first.
THE DUKE'S DELAYED WEDDING NIGHT (Chasity Bowlin) -- 2 Stars A dud. Colin Dunmore Pembrooke, Duke of Rosemere, marries, and his wife disappears. A year later, he is at a girls' school and runs into his wife. She has no memory of her past life, yada-yada-yada. He takes her home and finds out he married one of a set of twins. Ridiculous. He must REALLY love her if he couldn't tell the difference between siblings.
FOREVER WITH A PIRATE (Gina Conkle) -- G+ The middle story was fine, but the intro was unclear, and the story ended abruptly. Gregory, Eighth Duke of Hawkland, spent his life as a privateer. However, when he was named Duke, his life changed. Susan Pryce works for her father as an instructor for commoners who have suddenly been raised to a higher status. This is their story.
WITH A VALET IN A WARDROBE AT MIDNIGHT (Jude Knight) -- E Gareth Lord Versey becomes his friend's valet so he can observe the lady his grandfather wants him to marry. Being a future duke, Gareth knows it is hard to see the reality of people when they know who you are. However, while observing Lady Jenna, he notices that something is very wrong at Congleton Hall.
THE SEDUCER COMES TO CALL (Edie Cay) -- VG This author wins the prize for the most original plot. Archie has become a gigolo for wealthy women. He is hoping to raise enough money to win an heiress to help him refurbish his dilapidated estate. However, he runs into his old flame (before he left for the Continent). Sybil is in reduced circumstances, although she is the daughter of a duke and sister to a duke. Archie reevaluates what he wants out of life.
My problem with the story is that Archie has prostituted himself for money, clothes, etc., for so long that I find it hard to accept that he will stay with Sybil in the long term.
TRUSTING THE DUKE'S SON (Christina Diane) -- 2 Stars This is one of the porn-plots. Jenny Armstrong thinks she will marry Lord Finch Reid. However, she soon learns that he got a maid pregnant and abandoned her and the baby. He leaves England for a year. When he comes back, he has a different story. There's a bit of a story to separate the graphic sex scenes.
MIDNIGHT MASQUERADE (Christine Donovan) -- 3 Stars If you have read any of the Lyon's Den series, you will recognize the masquerade balls (and, on alternate nights, a gambling den) that welcome ladies and gentlemen. This is another of the porn-plots. There's just enough story to separate the sex scenes.
DUKE BY DAWN (Sheridan Jeane) -- 2 Stars Evan Ethridge became the Duke of Westbridge because of the deaths of his uncle and his son on a ship. Now, Violet Heatherington has returned to his life. She is a spy for the Crown, investigating the strange deaths of the former Duke of Westbridge and his son. She is specifically looking for documents that prove he was murdered. Of course, there is the requisite sex scene. The story ends abruptly.
THE DUKE OF COVENT GARDEN (Kelsey Swanson) -- G+ The Duke of Covent Garden has used the last fifteen years wisely; he hopes to bring down a man who repeatedly beat him in his younger years. He now owns an exclusive gaming den in London. When Lord Lufton (the man who beat on the duke repeatedly) is overdrawn and the Duke refuses further credit, Lord Lufton brings in his sister as collateral. The Duke remembers Kate because she was the one to deal with the Duke's bruises and wounds. The Duke extends further play to Lord Lufton. In the meantime, he meets with Kate in his office upstairs. Of course, there is the requisite sex scene. This would have been a GREAT story without the sex scene.
THE WANTON MAID (E. L. Johnson) -- G Lucy Potts is the eldest daughter of a disgraced baronet, who has entered service to support herself. Miss Adeline Azalea, Lucy's mistress, is rude and demanding. Adeline has been invited to the Duke of Minsden's country home for a masquerade. There has been a rash of thefts at house parties recently, and the magistrate has enlisted the aid of the duke and his grandson to try to catch the jewelry thief at his house party.
I am disappointed with E.L. Johnson because she included unnecessary intimate behavior between the two main characters. The mystery was intriguing enough without it.
A DUKE AT THE OPERA (Peri Maxwell) -- 2 Stars Pitiful. Zara was a star of the opera with her older husband. When he died, she carried on in his stead, despite leaving the stage and allowing others to perform. Now, the male star has fought with the female star and refuses to perform with her. He asks Zara to return to the stage. Because of severe debts, she agrees. Before the opening night, they have their grand sex scene. Yada-yada-yada.
DAWN'S LIGHT (Tess Thompson) -- G Another disappointment; Tess has always provided clean stories. This one isn't as bad as the others presented here, but it is a very short story (less than 35 pages). The plot is very convoluted and impossible to explain in two or three sentences.
A DEAL WITH THE DUKE (Margaux Thorne) -- 2 Stars Lady Jo Everly is a widow who is enticed by her brother and sister-in-law to see a seance-like seer. In the witch's house, she heard her husband tell her to go on with her life. When she comes out, she sees a man she was engaged to until two weeks before their marriage. She married someone else who has died. Running out of the witch's house, she ran into Ollie, Duke of Winchester, her former fiancée. He wants to take up with Jo, but she is unsure. Of course, they have sex and then she sends him packing. He refuses to stay gone. A stupid story.
MUSIC IN THE NIGHT (Caroline Warfield) -- E Owen Pritchard has been searching for the woman he has loved for seven years. Otherwise, he is music director in Cardiff. When he hears someone playing as Lucia (his lost love played), he chases her. Later, he found that her name was Annie Potter. When her mother died, she went to live with her aunt, who was married to a rigid vicar, who threatened Annie and made her work hard. This is a delightfully complex plot for such a short story.
Delightful Historical Romance Boxed Set Dukes All Night Long brings together a dozen never-before-published tales of passion, intrigue, and of course—dukes. Each story offers its own flavor, from mystery-laced romances to second-chance love. The Duke’s Delayed Wedding Night by Chasity Bowlin A duke’s wife vanishes only to be found at a school for young ladies, with no memory of him—or their life together. Lost memories, unexpected villains, and enduring love make this an engaging tale. Bowlin’s stories are always a delight, and this one blends mystery with romance beautifully. Forever with a Pirate Duke by Gina Conkle Gregory, once a privateer, never expected to inherit a dukedom. Now he must transform into a proper duke—with help from Susan, the lady tasked with tutoring him in society’s ways. But when hearts get involved, lessons grow complicated. A charming mix of class clash, romance, and unexpected love. With a Valet in a Wardrobe at Midnight by Jude Knight An arranged marriage gets complicated when Garry, wanting to see his would-be bride for himself, disguises himself as a valet. Jenna, meanwhile, is on a midnight quest to save her sister from a blackmailer—only to stumble into both danger and unexpected love. Jude Knight has such a gift for short romances, weaving adventure and heart into every page. The Seducer Comes to Call by Edie Cay Sybil hides away after rumors and scandal destroy her place in society, until childhood friend Archie stumbles upon her. A kiss long ago changed everything—can it change their present, too? This tale of lost chances, rekindled feelings, and the possibility of love beyond ruin was a standout for me. Trusting the Duke’s Son by Christina Diane Jenny believed Finch, a duke’s second son, would marry her—until scandal drove him away. Years later, their reunion brings both revelations and the question: can trust and love be restored? A touching, well-told second-chance romance. Midnight Masquerade by Christine Donovan Charlotte seeks one last adventure before a dull marriage and finds it in a masked stranger. Nathaniel, scarred by war, fears rejection—but Charlotte may surprise him. I loved how this masquerade tale balanced heat, heart, and vulnerability. Duke by Dawn by Sheridan Jeane Evan never wanted a title, yet inherits one after tragedy. Violet’s reappearance brings both danger and unfinished feelings. Their story blends love, treachery, and intrigue, though I wished for a clearer resolution. It feels like part of a larger series, and I’d have liked an author’s note confirming that. The Duke of Covent Garden by Kelsey Swanson Known as “Duke” in London’s underworld, Preston isn’t a nobleman but a man of power and vengeance. When Lady Kate is delivered to him as payment for her brother’s debts, old feelings reignite. Can love survive when vengeance demands its due? Dark, emotional, and compelling—Swanson never disappoints. The Wanton Maid by E.L. Johnson Lucy, a fallen noble’s daughter turned lady’s maid, finds herself at a masquerade where she meets Falstaff, a duke’s nephew hunting a thief. Mystery and romance intertwine in this charming tale of mistaken identity and unexpected attraction. A Duke at the Opera by Peri Maxwell Zara, a widowed soprano, returns to the stage opposite Silas, a tenor who has long loved her. Their onstage chemistry may just turn into something real. A sweet story of love, second chances, and finding happiness after loss. Dawn’s Light by Tess Thompson A Twelfth Night house party brings together Arabella and Lucian, once lovers separated by betrayal and circumstance. Locked in a room with only clues to guide them, can they reclaim what was lost? A beautiful story of redemption and second chances—one of my favorites. A Deal with the Duke by Margaux Thorne Jo, a widow, consults a fortune teller only to be told it’s time to move on—just as she encounters Oliver, the man she once loved. This story teases at a bigger arc in Thorne’s Cricket Club series, and I hope Jo and Oliver get their full book soon. Music in the Night by Caroline Warfield Mysterious music haunts Owen at a ducal mansion until he discovers Annie, a woman running from a cruel uncle. Music, danger, and second chances intertwine in this romantic, heartfelt tale. ________________________________________ Dukes All Night Long offers variety: mistaken identities, midnight adventures, lost loves rekindled, and dukes of every kind imaginable. If you enjoy short historical romances filled with passion, intrigue, and second chances, this set is a delight from beginning to end.
Thirteen Novellas with a Ducal Connection The Duke’s Delayed Wedding Night 5* by Chasity Bowlin - A wicked plot, a missing bride. A delightful short story. Forever with a Pirate Duke 5* by Gina Conkle - Civilising a barbarian. A very sweet story. With a Valet in a Wardrobe at Midnight 5* by Jude Knight - Two would be suitors and a blackmailing villain. Loved it! The Seducer Comes to call 3.5* by Edie Cay - A titled but impoverished male courtesan and the ruined sister of a Duke. (Note: Not sure why Sibyl was considered ruined if her brother was still friends with Archie after a chaste kiss and strange that Archie knew nothing about it.) Trusting the Duke’s Son 4* by Christina Diane - Scandal tears two lovers apart. When he returns a year later will she believe his tale and forgive him? Midnight Masquerade 4* by Christine Donovan - A widow and war hero meet (and more) at a masquerade ball. But Nathaniel has hidden scars and worries that Charlotte might blame him for her husband’s death? (Note: for someone who wanted a second marriage, I found it strange that Charlotte would risk a pregnancy with a stranger who might also be carrying sexual diseases). Duke by Dawn 4* by Sheridan Jeane - An incomplete story of romance and suspense, finishing on a cliffhanger. The Duke of Covent Garden 5* by Kelsey Swanson - Revenge is taken and a love regained. An enjoyable, slightly dark story The Wanton Maid 4* by E.L. Johnson - A lady fallen on hard luck, a house party and a jewel thief. Less than a HFN, more a chance of something. A Duke at the Opera 4* by Peri Maxwell - A failing opera house and it’s widowed owner, born into the nobility before she eloped with her singing tutor, struggles to keep things going whilst falling for her leading man. Dawn’s Light 3* by Tess Thompson - A second chance romance instigated by an interfering friend. This was a good story with the exception of the hero’s title, the only titles above a Duke are those of the Royal Family (ie. Royal Dukes, Princes and Kings), so if Lucian’s father is still living, which he is, his father is the Duke not him. One mention I could perhaps have overlooked but not multiple ones. A Deal with the Duke 3* by Margaux Thorne - An incomplete story, perhaps a prologue to a book yet to be published? Though the beginning also felt rather jarring as if coming into a story part way through. Music in the Night 4.5* by Caroline Warfield - Owen find his long lost love in the unlikeliest of places. A good story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
~ A Baker’s dozen of short stories and novellas by new-to-me authors I love ~
This collection has something for everyone and with thirteen stories to choose from you can read one a day in random order or read straight through from first page to last. I finished eight of the thirteen and hope to read the rest soon.
The stories I read included: * Betrayal by a twin sister that separated a couple for months due to amnesia * A privateer who inherited a dukedom and fell in love with the woman asked to help train him assume his title * A lord wanting a glimpse of the woman he was betrothed to and going undercover to check her out * Young love thwarted but given a second chance when one stumbles upon the other living in a hermit’s cave * Betrayal by family hide misdeeds of the heir by besmirching the good name of his brother and temporarily ruining his chance to marry the woman he loves * One of my favorites ~ A scarred war hero meeting the perfect woman who sees him in spite of the burn scars he survived * Another favorite is about a friendship of a stable lad and the daughter of the house that had no chance till one day she was used as collateral for gambling debts * A locked room requiring honesty of two people that were separated by circumstances and needed to talk things out
Did I enjoy this book? Yes Did I find new authors I would read again? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade for the ARC – This is my honest review
What an amazing collection of stories! Dukes All Night Long is exactly what the title promises—a swoon-worthy, indulgent escape into the world of scandalous lords, witty heroines, and the kind of slow-burn chemistry that keeps you up way past bedtime. This anthology feels like a love letter to everything that makes historical romance so addictive: forbidden glances across candlelit ballrooms, stolen kisses in moonlit gardens, and that delicious push and pull between propriety and passion.
There's a little something for all tastes. Each story brings something a little different to the table—some playful and banter-filled, others gorgeously emotional—but all of them share that perfect mix of charm and heat. The marriage of convenience setups are just as satisfying as the fake engagements, and the reformed rakes are utterly irresistible! There’s something so fun about dipping into each new world and knowing you’re guaranteed a happy ending, no matter how scandalous the journey.
What really shines here is how these stories balance steam with heart. You’ll find yourself laughing, sighing, and maybe even fanning yourself more than once. It’s the kind of anthology that feels perfect for curling up with your beverage of choice and letting yourself get swept away for a few chapters—or a few hours.
If you love your historical romance full of charm, spice, and a dash of mischief, Dukes All Night Long delivers exactly that—and then some.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is a great group of authors whose work I have either read or stands firm on my tbr. I have been so excited for the short little treats sure to be found within.
First up for me was Christina Diane’s Trusting the Duke’s Son. This was a deliciously spicy treat. First love to enemies to lovers, a certain mix of contempt and longing that battles its way to happy ever after. Poor Fin is forever dealt bad hands as the second son forced to clean up the heir’s mess. Can he stand up for happiness? And what will it cost him? Jenny has nursed her broken heart in acts of charity, rebellious by nature and determined as anything. She thought she lost her HEA but when he returns, can she trust his word and her heart? Their story was sweet and endearing and wonderfully heated.
I will come back and update as I read each story within.
Forever with a Pirate Duke – Gina Conkle Cute story but I felt like I was dropped right into the middle of it. Loved the premise. I know these are short stories but I wanted much more of the story.
Trusting the Duke’s Son – Christina Diane What I really liked about this story was that yes there was miscommunication but it was dealt with right away without taking the entire story. Oh, but there is more than miscommunication. I would like to read a longer story about these characters.
The Duke of Covent Garden – Kelsey Swanson I am a sucker for wrong side of the tracks guy who becomes a gambling hell owner. The more I read by Kelsey, the more I like her stories. Sweet, revenge, love and kittens. What is not to like??
*I received a free ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review*
This is one of the best collections/anthologies I have ever read -there is not really a weak story in the bunch! I was familiar with a couple of the writers, but most were knew to me which was nice because now I have a whole bunch of new authors to keep an eye out for! What I really enjoyed about this collection was that characters either had a history/backstory so the romance part was not as rushed as it often is in shorter stories or they ended with a promise of courting rather than moving right to marriage. There are even a few stories that end on a kind of cliffhanger which made me excited to see what the author does with the characters in future books.
Duke’s All Night Long by a variety of Dragonblade authors is a compendium of short stories and novellas featuring dukes, of which there is no shortage in the Dragonblade universe. Authors include Edie Cay, Christina Diane, Christine Donovan, Sheridan Jeane, Kelsey Swanson, E L Johnson, Peri Maxwell, Tess Thompson, Margaux Throne, Caroline Warfield, and headliners Chasity Bowlin, Gina Conkle, and Jude Knight. All entertaining and worth the read. The advantage to this format as opposed to a novel is that it is easier to break up. All handsome with a variety of tropes, it is not to be missed. Fun book!
I was invited to read Duke’s All Night Long by Dragonblade. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #DukesAllNightLong
This collection of novellas started out very strong with some familiar authors and a few new ones. There were some love stories with a bit of mystery involved, some with witty banter, a lot of second chance romances or romances rekindled from childhood. There were some clean sweet stories, some steamy stories, and some that were somewhere in the middle. The characters were well written for the most part. However, some of the later novellas left too many cliffhangers. They didn’t really give me the HEA or clear resolution that I wanted. They stories seemed unfinished. That is why I only gave 3 ⭐️s although there were some stories that I really liked.
I received an ARC from Net Galley and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Perfect choice to stay up late, cozy with a blanket all night long. This collection of stories was perfect. The stories have everything you’re looking for in a historical romance ,like "reformed rake" and "secret longing" and so many more. I found some of my favorite of authors and I'm so excited to find some new-to-me authors from this collection. It is packed with stories full of wit, humor, and heart-racing kind of passion. Each story gives you something different and you may find new genres you will fall in love with. I did. You will want to read every one of these stories. Every single story was wonderful and I look forward to reading more from these authors. It’s a great way to gift someone historical romance and get them hooked just like you are! Enjoy the adventures.
I'm usually a fan of full novels, but anthologies like Dukes All Night Long are great for when I need a little reading break. They're also a good way for finding a new author to check into before committing to a full novel.
The short stories in this anthology were all fun reads. Great tales with interesting characters. There were some that I enjoyed more than the rest, but they were all good. My favorites were Duke's Delayed Wedding Night, With a Valet in a Wardrobe at Midnight, and Duke of Covent Garden. If you like anthologies I think Dukes All Night Long would be a great choice.
I received an ARC of this book and leaving my review voluntarily.
really enjoy an anthology because the stories are varied and a quick read. I was drawn in from the first story as it had a connection to the Hellion Club stories that the author had written. It was entertaining and made it easy to become engrossed in the rest of the stories. A couple other favorites of mine were “Forever with a Pirate Duke”, “Midnight Masquerade”, and the “Duke of Covent Garden” but that could just be my personal taste as all were worth reading. It is also good to discover new authors in these collections. I received an ARC but the honest opinion is my own.
Great Anthology. Think I enjoyed virtually all of them. There were a couple of indosyncacies. I think one author had a dress with exposed shoulders in supposedly regency times. One hero's hair changed colour from Dark to Chestnut...but on the whole there were some great stories. Some stories are obviously part of the authors series. I particularily enjoyed Jude Knight's : With a Valet in a Wardrobe at Midnight and Caroline Warfield's : Music in the night.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
DUKES ALL NIGHT LONG is the ideal read for lovers of historical romances on the shorter side. These novellas are the perfect palette cleanser in between longer, heavier reads. An added bonus, you get to meet new authors and perhaps crush on them hard. Each individual contribution was a satisfying read. I’m giving this anthology the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
I so love an anthology! It’s always full of great stories to read in a couple of hours! I specifically read two of my favorite authors, Kelsey Swanson and Gina Conkle, and I found both novellas very, very good, gorgeously written and emotional. The only downside is that they were short and I would have liked to read more of their wonderful characters!
This was a great way to read a collection of historicals featuring, you guessed it, dukes. There were a few authors I've read before and a lot new to me. So, what a logical way to read new authors in this genre. Plus, novellas mean you can read all night long. About dukes. Wink. Highly recommend.
What was great about this book was being able to read the styles of so many authors and the novellas were great to read when not a lot of time was available. The only downside was that there were several that I would have enjoyed being longer and more in depth.
From Chasity Bowlin's “The Duke's Delayed Wedding Night” to Caroline Warfield's “Music in the Night”, I found each of the novellas in this anthology most enjoyable. I am familiar with all the authors in this anthology, and I was not disappointed. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I usually enjoy reading an anthology as it is an introduction to new authors. There were some wonderful stories, some average and some awful ones. Also the title is misleading as a few stories had no dukes in them. As you can see from my rating there were more dreadful stories than interesting.
This was a nice variety of novellas by some of my favored authors. I read a few of the books, and many of those leaned towards second chances. Most of them were written well, but there are some that did not make my cut.
An entertaining collection of passion filled romance stories. Marriage of convenience or a fake engagement are some tropes and all with sizzle and great banter. A bag full of irresistible happily ever afters.
A lot of the stories were unsatisfying because they ended very abruptly. Most of the authors were new to me. The stories with closure were good. The overall tie in of Dukes in the stories was interesting in how each story dealt with it.
There are a wide variety of stories to fit any mood. Each is a quick read. I like how each of the authors hold to the theme, but they are done in such varied ways!
