Two broken people from different sides of the track.
Baby Jade has it tough. Working as a stripper for a scumbag, she does her best to tune it all out by getting into her music and doing the best she can to make it through. She struggles day to day with the other riff-raff girls in the club, her scumbag boss, and a dealer who tries to weaken her every chance he gets. At the end of one of her performances, she is met with deep chocolate eyes you can lose yourself in.
Lucky is only suppose to be passing through town; only showing up to attend a board meeting he only does once a year for his father's very wealthy and well known company. He doesn't want to be there as it is, but he works at the garage and when he comes up short with that, he takes a job as a bouncer at the club. He is immediately taken by Baby Jade but tries to keep his distance at first. As the two get to know each other though, he can no longer ignore the electricity between them and will do anything to protect her.
However, he has a heartbreaking past of his own and when secrets are revealed about Baby, he leaves her.
This leaves Baby even more broken then before and she succumbs to her weakness. It isn't until she's at her lowest that Lucky finally gets it together and takes care of her. He loves her, wants to take care of her and wants to get her out of the toxic city.
This book ends on a mini cliffhanger. So many unanswered questions, I know Lucky and Jade are in for one hell of a ride. Will their love be strong enough to survive?
