A historical fiction based on the unfortunate "necklace incident" of Marie Antoinette, which was one of the three main factors that led to the downfall of the French regime. The book was too much fiction & not enough history for me, however.

unusual story plot and very heavy reading. but it was a good story, just very slow reading. a lot of history facts in it.
its one of those books i had for years and just kept putting off reading. never made it past the second page.
then one day i just decided to make it to the end of the chapter and slogged my way threw the rest.
