Blue Perez abruptly found out he was also a Cavanaugh during the reading of Everett Cavanaugh’s will. Shocked, hurt and left with feelings of betrayal, Blue is extremely bitter over being lied to all these years, not only by his mother but by the man who treated him as a surrogate son. Add to that is the stinging betrayal Blue feels over the burgeoning romance with a woman he met online. In the last book, Blue finds out she’s actually Natalie Palmer (a seriously creepy woman!), and he also discovered she was in possession of Cassandra Cavanaugh’s diary which was never discovered after her murder years earlier. Being in possession of the long lost diary makes Natalie a top suspect of the murder, and Blue can’t believe he was fooled by this woman.

So, yes, Blue is bitter and his feelings spill out onto anyone around. His foul mood leads him to the Bull’s Eye to drink away his vitriolic feelings and he ends up sleeping with Emily Shiver. This one night stand has consequences but Blue doesn’t feel unhappy about them or how it ties him to Emily forever. That one-night stand is one of his best memories, even if he was drunk, and he wants more of the temptress he couldn’t resist that night. Little does he know that his attentions to Emily put her in harm’s way.

Emily has always had the hots for Blue, so when he made a pass at her after a night of drinking, she couldn’t refuse. Now Emily’s paying for that rash decision, but she doesn’t regret the life they created. Emily just doesn’t want to tie herself to a man only out of obligation. Blue may want to do right by her and the baby but he’s struggling with so many negative emotions she’s not sure it’s a good idea for him to be involved. Emily has a close-knit, loving family and while she can understand why Blue would feel the way he does, she thinks he should give his mother a chance to explain. Hanging on to that bitterness doesn’t do anyone any good. Worse, Blue won’t let her in emotionally.

I really liked Emily. She didn’t let an unplanned pregnancy derail her plans and she wasn’t bitter about it at all. Plus, she was prepared to take it all on her own. She had the sense to be cautious about Blue, and didn’t jump into something permanent with him just because of the baby or her overwhelming attraction to him:

“And I don’t want a man’s hesitation. I don’t want half a man’s heart, and none of his trust. I deserve more. Way more. And I intend to get it.”

I could understand why Blue was hurt, but I was getting fed up with his attitude. Yes, he was lied to but he needed to look at the whole picture IMO, talk to and get his mother’s side of things. I was happy when Emily called him out on his behavior:

“You need to let this go, your past, the resentment—every bit of it—once and for all,” she said. “Not for me, not for this baby, but for you.”

Even though I was frustrated with Blue, I was moved by his complete determination to be there for his child, and be a good father. I was happy that, even though he wouldn’t let Emily close initially, eventually his feelings for her overrode his hang-ups.

The Cavanaugh Brothers were served a horrific blow when their teenage sister, Cassandra, was abducted and murdered. The family suffered from feelings of guilt and their parents sort of checked out. Cassandra’s murder was never solved, but there were clues in each book that shed a little more light as the series went on. In this installment the mystery is solved, and I was happy to that this brought a measure of much needed peace to them.

While I did enjoy Brash (the previous book) a little more, Bonded was a good combination of mystery, romance, suspense and a satisfying conclusion.

Bonded was the fourth and final book within the Cavanaugh Brothers series by Laura Wright.

Blue Pérez Cavanaugh was the fourth Cavanaugh son, only learning of his father’s identity at his death. The lies and betrayal of his mother hit him hard. He struggled to get over it.

Emily Shiver was a waitress at the Bull’s Eye Kitchen. She had a dream of owning a flower shop and the dream was almost fulfilled.

Wright began Bonded a few weeks after Brash, book three, ended. It was confusing at first but Wright tied up loose ends and brought us up to speed within a few chapters.

I had mixed feelings about Bonded. I was craving to get answers from the murder that was introduced in book one, so I had high expectations. In the end, it was suspenseful leading up to the conclusion but I still had questions that were never answered. For such a big build up, I needed more.

Also, as for Blue - I get why he was angry. What I don’t get was why everyone was surprised and annoyed. Their annoyance should have been directed at Elena, not at Blue. Blue was totally justified. I was also on the fence with Emily. I liked her but at times she was unreasonable and I couldn’t relate to anger.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the storyline and it was a fast read. There were a few unexpected twists that made it intriguing, but I just wanted more depth.

All in all, I enjoyed the series in its totality. It was sexy and suspenseful and in the end, came full circle.

I've really looked forward to this book as it finally answers so many questions. From the very beginning when I read Branded the tragic story of Cassie and just what happened to her has been a constant theme. The Cavanaugh brothers are dynamic , sexy and yet feel so conflicted at times. The death of their baby sister caused so much pain and heartache but the recent death of their father really put the cat amongst the pigeons as he named the housekeepers son Bleu as his fourth son! Now the ranch is split four ways but Bleu is in a bad way. Hurt, angry, confused and not sure if he can ever trust again but one night of passion is about to come back and firmly bite him on his ass!
Emily thinks Bleu is oh so fine and when one night she takes his drunken self home it's a chance for them to connect on the most basic level. Unfortunately there are consequences and Emily quickly discovers that she is having Bleu's baby! Now Emily has plans of her own and dreams to follow but she wants to keep her baby but when someone in her family discovers her predicament well let's say things escalate pretty quickly! Bleu is a man who has no compunction about stepping up and accepting his responsibilities but this angry cowboy still has a way to go before he can happily ride off into the sunset !
I loved Bleu! Yes he is almost like a stuck record at times and I wanted him to stop hurting both himself and those around him but he is a typical Cavanaugh boy who needs a swift kick from a good woman. Now luckily Emily does see the man beneath the swagger and knows how emotionally crippled Bleu is . They have serious chemistry and Bleu sure does want to please but it's not a perfect romance and sooner or later Bleu just might find himself losing the one thing that's truly important .
Well I think most readers knew at the end of the previous book Brash just where the murder mystery was going. It's still a part of this story but I did kind of miss the snippets from the diary . In fact it's almost an anticlimax which seemed a shame. Most of this book settles around the whirlwind relationship that this young couple find themselves thrown into. Expect romance, heat and to want to shake Bleu at times! As usual it's so well written and I loved the humorous scenes with Emily's family and her Deputy brother is an absolute hoot!

Let me start off with saying that I thought the writing was good, I like the way that LW tells a story, the words just float off the page and is definitely not a hardship to read. The problems I have with this is purely down to the story content itself.

Throughout the series we have had a big build up and I was expecting one heck of a bang/explosion but all we got was a poof, oh boy what a disappointment! I felt no tension or connection between Blue and Emily - I get the Emily had a bit of a crush on Blue but Blue wasn’t particularly interested in her, their ‘relationship’ only came about because she drove him home from the bar one night cos he was drunk, then there was a wham bam thank you ma’am session and several weeks later Emily realised she was pregnant. Over the next few weeks instead of building a relationship all Blue seemed to do was put his foot in his mouth and make things worse and then all of a sudden he was in love.

I loved the other three books in this series but I really felt let down with this . I think far too much was left until the last story and quite honestly even if it had been twice the volume it is it still wouldn’t have been enough. As far as I am concerned nothing was resolved fully, not with Natalie the crazy lady and the people she murdered, or Blue’s relationship with his mother, his brothers, his best friend Mac, or even with Emily.

This book cannot be read as a standalone and really wouldn't make a lot of sense unless you have read the previous stories in the series.

Bonded was a pretty quick read and wrap up to the Cavanaugh Brothers and the mystery surrounding their baby sister's murder years earlier.

I don't know. It was an okay read. Nothing really wrong with it but I kind of felt like it was missing...something. Mostly the romance. It was pretty much jumped over and went from 0 to 60 and skipped all the other pretty little numbers to get there. I loved Blue and his struggles. He's an angry cowboy that's for sure. Has closed himself off from everyone around him after his world was rocked and turned upside down. I really felt for him. Got his anger and fear of letting anyone close. Emily I had some trouble with. She was okay but, to me at least, she kind of played games with Blue. She knew his issues and struggles and would do/say things that would hurt him along their lines. It bothered me and kept me from really connecting with her.

Overall it was okay and there was closure on a number of fronts but really it felt like a filler novel to me which was a bit disappointing.

Full review to come.

This is the fourth installment to The Cavanaugh Brothers series and while it is part of the series it can be read as a stand alone. This one is about Blue Perez(the unknowing brother) and his quest to become part of the family. With the help of Emily,he learns to trust and love again, recommend this one for a feel good read.

The focus in this final book of the Cavanaugh Brothers saga is on the illegitimate half-brother, Blue Perez, as he struggles to come to terms with the truth about his birth, and the fact that his one-night stand with local waitress, Emily Shiver, has had an unforeseen complication. There is also a resolution to the ongoing mystery surrounding the death of Cass Cavanaugh.

Unfortunately, Blue and Emily's book completely misses the mark mainly due to the huge chip on Blue's shoulder. It is virtually impossible for him to move past his anger at what he perceives as his mother's betrayal, which results in his treating the woman, who has loved and cared for him his entire life, in a truly reprehensible manner. This makes it difficult for the reader to sympathize with him.

Emily is much more likable, but she too has issues, primarily a desire for independence, that lead her to push Blue away.

In terms of the murder mystery, the identity and motivation of the killer has been obvious since the second book, and all that remains is the rather lackluster revelation. That said, the final showdown is intense and exciting.

Overall, this series has excellent potential and Wright does manage to keep the reader's interest throughout despite some problematic characters and tropes.

This is it! This is the book we’ve been waiting for! The key to finding out who’s responsible for Cass Cavanaugh’s death. Not only that, we get to learn more about the fourth Cavanaugh brother, Blue.

I was very excited about this book. There were so many questions I needed answers to. And I certainly got them all, but everything felt rushed to me. I thought several things that happened in the book that I thought were important felt glossed over. When the story ended I was like, that’s it?

Blue was bringing some heavy baggage into his story. I liked Blue and Emily, but their relationship was on fast forward throughout most of the book. Theirs is certainly a difficult relationship and it definitely showed in every scene.

It’s strange really, I liked the story but I guess I was surprised that there wasn’t as much development in the story and the characters as there was in the previous books.

Bonded presents the conclusion to a 4 book mystery on who killed Cassie Cavanaugh. This last book is a little light on the mystery. The evidence to the conclusion has already been introduced in book 3. Bonded largely focuses on the last and illegitimate brother, Blue Perez Cavanaugh. After growing up on the ranch under the tutelage of Everett Cavanaugh, Blue’s life is turned off his rocker when he learns that he is the bastard son of the late patriarch of the Cavanaugh family. He is angry and hurt. Moreover, he obstinately holds on to his feeling of betrayal. Although I can understand his upset, his life has been up ended. However, his grudge is overlong and I am especially disappointed on how he treats his mother.

Emily is a waitress at a local bar. She is saving her money to purchase her first business, a floral shop. Emily is a self-made woman. Grown and cultivated in a nurturing home supported by love. One night changes their lives and puts them on a course of discovery and connection.

In the end, it is easy to believe that Blue is willing to pull himself out of self-pity and do what is right. This situation gives him the opportunity to go beyond himself and climb out of his self-pity. I like the chemistry between the two characters. They are both strong-willed and stubborn. They both have a tremendous moral compass and are willing to pay to the price to live up to their values.

The author also introduces us to strong secondary characters, Emily’s brothers Steven and Jeremy Shiver. Steven is a deputy for the local sheriff’s department and plays a crucial role, and has a noted presence. He has enough stature to be featured in future stories. I’ll be curious to see of Laura Wright will continue in the Cavanaugh world.

IN A NUTSHELL
Laura Wright began this series with a curious mystery that brings together a fractured family. Each book contributed a new angle, a new edge to the overall story arc. This book is an exclamation point in conclusion.

The fourth and most controversial Cavanaugh Brother gets his story and I settled in prepared to devour the story as I had the last few. I knew it wouldn't be easy especially with Blue's head all messed up the way it is. I feel like there should be a warning label like 'Caution: there be dragons ahead'. And no I'm not being overly dramatic after getting Blue's thoughts every now and then and seeing him in action throughout the rest of the series (and yes, that means that this series really should be read in order). But even with all that, I wasn't expecting what I got in this book.

Alright, so this one picks up nearly where the last book left off with that huge, huge revelation at the end of the last book. 'There be series spoilers ahead so precede with caution'.

Blue has just confronted 'Cowgirl', his on-line relationship, in person discovering who she really is and finding his murdered sister's diary in her possession. Unfortunately, there is no real evidence so the woman walks away free. His life is at a true low. He's still processing his mother's secrets, his relationship to the Cavanaughs as their 'wrong side of the blanket' half-brother, and that he has a quarter share in the ranch that has everyone fighting for what they want. So he drinks and that leads to something unexpected.

Emily Shiver has been crushing on Blue Perez from afar for a while and it hurts to see him drinking and alone. She can see the misery and pain in him and just wants to help. This leads to her back at his place. Right in the middle of her ecstasy she hears words that no woman wants to hear while with a man. His thoughts seem to be along the lines of forgetting some other woman. She runs off shamed and sorry that she didn't use better sense, but then the home pregnancy test comes back positive and her actions of that night now have lasting consequences. A baby? Her family's reaction? How to tell Blue? Her head is swirling and the truth comes out long before she is done processing.

Blue's desire to stay detached and cold is confronted by a situation he never saw coming. He is forced back into the game, but he clings to his anger and mistrust like a lifeline. He will do his duty toward his unborn child and the mother of that child, but that is all. Only, he suddenly wants more with Emily, but she wants it all or nothing. And then there is 'Cowgirl' still waiting in the shadows to have him all back to herself.

This book got off on the wrong foot from the beginning with me and never really got squared away. I ended up growing fed up with Blue, with Emily, and with the two together along with feeling sad how Cass' murder and the family situation played out. Right when I wanted to be close to the action, to the romance, and to Blue healing, I felt like I was kept at a distance and couldn't quite get in rhythm with this story.

Blue's anger and betrayal issues, I got even if I was ready for him to get past it the way he was bringing pain to himself, his mom, and Mac. Emily, however, was one confusing chick and I never warmed up to her.

Emily is described one way, but her words and actions spoke differently. The only description that was truly apt was the stubbornness. Most of the time she dove into words or actions without thinking and didn't seem to care (though she claimed to) about hurting her family or Blue. She was big on avoiding and manipulative and came across as being 'its all about me' sort of girl. She wants to be treated like an adult, to be independent, yadda yadda, but she couldn't be upfront with anyone, not once even if it was just to explain that she wanted her own place to her parents and then later to be upfront with all involved about the baby. There were several times when she took shots at Blue knowing his weak and hurting areas and tried on some verbal blackmail when it came to him and the baby even though he constantly tried to do right by her. 'You've got issues yet you want time with your child? You only get to see your child if...'. Not a fan, Em!

Which was largely why I wasn't a fan of their sudden love. They go from perfect strangers, to having a baby, to battling each other and their issues, and suddenly love. There were no grounds for it and not much there to love, to be frank.

As to the suspense line of the story, that happened as quickly as Blue and Em's 'I love yous'. After all the build-up over the series, there was a little fizzle and pop it was over. And the strained situation with the Cavanaughs, again, it was handled quickly from a distance. I love stories with family and particularly brothers, but never got the big or little scenes of these guys coming together. Sadly. I did not bond with 'Bonded' and I'm disappointed about that because I wanted to very much.

But, I will say, that the one storyline that did satisfy was seeing Blue work through his anger and emotions so that he could be restored with his mother, Mac, and eventually his brothers. Mostly, I was glad that he was healing for his own sake. He was a good guy that got hit by a lot of hurt and it was good to see him come out of it.

In the end, I'm glad I read the series even if this last book was somewhat disappointing. I guess it was okay, but I really wanted more. I would still recommend this series for those who like their sexy, hot cowboy brothers and a compelling mystery, but some books might be more engaging than others.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales

Quick & Dirty: It’s Blue’s turn for romance in this good, but not great, conclusion to the Cavanaugh Brothers series.

Opening Sentence: Some people might call it the hots, but if you asked Emily Shiver directly what her feelings regarding Blue Perez were, she’d probably say it was more like an . . . appreciation.

The Review:

It’s been a rough three months for Blue Perez Cavanaugh. First, he finds out his mother had an affair with Everett Cavanaugh, an affair that resulted in his birth. So that means he has three brothers, all of whom have plans for the Triple C that don’t coincide with his own. Then, the woman he had been falling for online turns out to possibly have something to do with his half-sister’s disappearance and subsequent murder. Suffice to say, life could be better. So when pretty Emily Shiver offers to give him a ride home when he’s obviously too drunk to drive, Blue takes her up on her offer and makes an offer of his own once they arrive at his place.

Emily Shiver has been obsessed with Blue ever since first laying eyes on him. So, despite not being one for one night stands, she can’t resist spending the night with Blue when the opportunity comes up. Fast forward to three weeks later, and Emily gets quite the surprise: she’s pregnant. Now, she and Blue have to figure out how they’re going to raise a child together when Blue finds it hard to trust anyone, especially someone of the female persuasion. Will they be able to work past their differences, or is their relationship doomed to fail?

I absolutely love this series, so I was anxious to read the conclusion. While it is a good read, it doesn’t quite reach the height that the third book did. A large part of that has to do with Blue. He has spent the past three books moping around because of his mother’s deception. While it is understandable given the short timeframe of the series, it makes it very hard to like him when he’s being so unlikable to every other character. Even in this book where he’s the hero, every sweet thing he does is often negated later by him continuing to act like a jerk.

As for Emily, she is a great main character. She’s sweet and strong, and her reaction to this pregnancy made me feel very connected to her as a character. She’s not afraid to put Blue in her place either, which made me like her even more. She just felt very real, and it was great to get to read her story.

Regarding the mystery of Cass’ disappearance and murder, everything gets wrapped up here. It was great to get to see the brothers’ efforts to find her killer finally come to fruition. In my opinion, the resolution was very satisfactory.

All in all this was a good conclusion to the Cavanaugh series, but not a great one. Blue’s frustrating words and actions do take some enjoyment out of the story, but Emily’s likeability makes up for it mostly. This is a quick read, and fans of the series should enjoy this conclusion.

Notable Scene:

“Okay, I know I got a bit nuts in there,” he started with a heavy exhalation.

“A bit?” she asked.

“That pre-thing sounded scary as shit.”

“That’s because you know nothing about it. It’s pretty common. And if I do get preeclampsia, it’s not until later in the pregnancy.” She sighed, her irritation stripping away. “You don’t have to worry, okay? About any of it. It’s all covered. This baby will be fine. I have my whole family looking out for me. My mom knows all about this. I don’t need you -“

He felt himself go rigid. He looked away. Her words had cut him.

“Come on, Blue,” she said, recognizing her blunder pretty quickly. “I didn’t mean it like that. All I’m trying to say is please chill out a little. Everything is going to be fine.”

Fine. Fine. He sniffed. Was it? Christ, nothing had been fine in the past several months. Why should he believe that this would be any different?

“Look, I need to go,” she said, turning around and opening her car door. “I have work.” Before she slipped inside, she gave him a tight smile. “I’m glad you came. Really. But next time, maybe it’s better if I go on my own.”

He stared at her, flinched as the door slammed shut. And as the weight of her words sank in, and she drove off into the late-morning sunshine, his guts twisted with pain. It wasn’t the kind of pain that stemmed from a fist to the jaw, but the emotional kind – the kind that came from fear and loss.

And a moment of hope, shattered.

I've loved Blue from the very beginning and I knew Ms. Wright would do his story justice. Not only was it steamy with beautiful sensual moments, it was emotional, touching, and downright heartwarming.

For me, this series just kept getting better and better, starting off a little slow but then ended with a bang with a great conclusion to an engrossing storyline. I slowly became emotionally invested in every single character, but Blue Perez hit me the hardest. His story was embedded in the series from the very beginning and led us to his greatly deserved happily ever after in BONDED.

But let's not forget the beloved little sister, Cass Cavanaugh. The suspense and mystery behind this whole series rests on her story. In BONDED, the mystery comes to a close and the person who’s responsible for her death is revealed. All your questions are answered. All of your concerns are addressed. All of your theories will be confirmed or denied. This is the book we have been waiting for, the missing piece of this complex puzzle.

It felt like a dream. One night of passion changes the course of two people's lives. One is holding one hell of a grudge. The other is as independent as they come. One is surrounded by darkness, and the other wants nothing more than to surround the other with light. They crave each other, yearn for one another, but that might not be enough. An obsession turns deadly in the fiery conclusion of The Cavanaugh Brother's series.

I really liked Blue and Emily together. They complemented each other well and their chemistry and passion was sexy and believable. Blue's struggle tugged at my heartstrings quite a bit. I could feel the tension and the angst when he was around his family. I felt the passion and love when he was around Emily. His acceptance of who he was and who his family was at the end was like a breath of fresh air. A true romance that led us on a beautiful and suspenseful journey comes to an end on the pages but not in our hearts.

Family and home never mattered so much…

I am a huge fan of this author and couldn’t wait for the finale of this series! This is the fourth story of The Cavanaugh Brothers and focuses on Blue Perez this time.

Adjusting to his new family situation is hard on Blue, as his relationship with his mother and his half-brothers is strained to say the least. Emily Shiver has been in love with Blue forever and nothing has changed for her even if his last name has. An unexpected night together results in a new family being created and Blue and Emily have to decide what family and love means.

There is a tragedy that has haunted the Cavanaugh family for years and is never more evident as Blue fights with his family and, now, against hoping for something he is afraid to believe is real; with betrayal from many different fronts, Blue is having a hard time accepting the honesty of Emily’s love and the realization that he is going to be a father. Emily has loved him from afar for a long time while Blue looks at her now in a totally different way. Maybe a case of “too much, too quickly” though as Blue fights the situation, and Emily.

I love how Emily is honest and up front through it all even when she really would be justified in kicking Blue into next week. Obviously there is drama between them but, as usual, it all seems natural and unfolds with love and humor.

Following them both sorting out their conflict, as well as solving a painful mystery, made for a satisfying and entertaining read! ~ Diane, 4 stars

This story feels incomplete. I came into this, bit having read the prior books in the series; so my understanding of this story was low. There are events that are vital to the story that are not thoroughly explained, I'm guessing in the assumption that readers know about these events from other books. I ended up with more questions and a less than satisfactory ending. The antagonist is off their rocker, and has been committing crimes for years, and I still have no idea why, and to what extent. None of these things were wrapped up. We don't know the result of the investigation, why they killed (or if she did) the people that they did.

Regarding the protagonists, I wanted to shake both of them. Blue, especially, was a frustrating character who was like a bull in the China shop when it came to trying to develop a relationship with Emily. There were many facepalm moments.

Overall, to me this seemed like an incomplete story with a hfn ending.

This has been one of my favorite series. I have enjoyed reading about these brothers who have had to deal with the fallout of their father’s death, the secrets that are revealed and the mystery of their sister Cass’ murder. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Wright brings us next.

Ever since Blue Perez found out about his father, he has distanced himself from the Cavanaugh family. He is angry and takes it out on anyone who gets in his way, including his mother and half-brothers. When a night of passion with Emily, a local waitress brings more than amazing memories, they find that together they must deal with an unplanned future.

Emily is working as a waitress getting ready to purchase a place to start her flower business. She is ready to move away from loving, protective parents when she helps a troubled Blue home one night. When she realizes she is pregnant with Blue’s child, she is still determined to move forward, with a few changes. However Blue has different plans and sets about making sure he is part of her life.

A great ending to a series that has kept me engrossed until the end. I have enjoyed the journey from the beginning when we first met these brothers who were scattered, they wanted to be anywhere but the Triple C Ranch with all the hurt associated with the past. Each story has opened up more about this enigmatic family, their secrets and painful memories.

I have been anticipating Blue’s story from the beginning and I was not disappointed. Although each family member shares the painful past, Blue seems to take things the hardest, yet he is not the only one surprised by the news during their father’s funeral. With his hurt, he does not listen to the others and treats his mother poorly, there were definitely times I felt he needed a quick kick to remind him that he is not alone in how he feels. His saving grace is how he treats Emily.

Emily is a sweetheart who is ready to spread her wings, move out of her parent’s house and start her own business. And when she finds herself pregnant after a night with Blue, she relies on her toughness and strength to set her sights on her future whether Blue is there or not.

The two start out as acquaintances, then friends united for their child and eventually their friendship turns to love. They share some hot scenes together, their chemistry is electric and they have a hard time keeping away from each other. Ms. Wright knows how to keep the heat up, writing the scenes they share.

The mystery surrounding the death of their sister Cass several years ago has been an ongoing story arc from the beginning and it is nicely wrapped up but not before there is an altercation, dangerous situations and many questions. Secondary characters play a huge part in this story; many previous characters are featured as their stories have continued throughout the series. I enjoyed Blue’s mother Elena and although their relationship has become rocky, they have a strong foundation of love and trust between then and I was happy with the outcome. It is interesting that throughout the book, the suspicion of who killed Cass is widely known and it is just the proof that is needed and although it was not that mysterious, the writer does a great job of keeping our interests up.

The pace works well, slow and steady as each character works through the various issues still outstanding from the beginning, including the brother’s dysfunctional relationships, Blue and his mother’s problems, and the issues between Blue and Emily. The pace speeds up when they get close to the reveal of the murderer and ends with a satisfying conclusion. This book could be read as a standalone as the writer keeps the reader up to date, yet the entire series is worth the read.

I can't believe that this is the final installment in The Cavanaugh Brothers Series :( I have read all the books in this fantastic series and loved every single minute of it! The cast of characters in this series was pretty awesome and their stories captivating!

In Bonded, we follow Emily and Blue's love story. It all started with a night of passion, but Emily and Blue's relationship grows when he finds out that Emily his pregnant. He wants to be there for his child, but he's scared to take the next step when it comes to Emily. He has a difficult time trusting people after everything that has happened to him. As days go by, Blue's feelings for Emily grew stronger with every moment he spends with her. Will Blue be able to forget about his past and take a step towards a future with Emily?

I really enjoyed this book! Laura Wright has a beautiful writing style that keeps you turning the pages from beginning to end! I felt like I was a part of the journey and a member of the Cavanaugh family. I have been cheering for them to find love and, to find the person who was responsible for Cassandra's murder. It was not an easy journey for these brothers, but through it all they have formed a bond that is now unbreakable.

Emily and Blue had a fantastic chemistry! Their one night stand turned up to becoming much more when Emily found out she was pregnant. Emily was a sweet and confident heroine and I liked her from the moment she was introduced into the story. Blue was an irresistible jerk. He was mad at the world for his family situation and it was understandable. I did find that he was pretty hard on his mom and did not give her chance from the beginning to explain what happened. The more I read about Blue's story, the more I wanted him to forgive his mom and forget all about his past and start a new life on a positive note. Emily was exactly the kind of person he needed in his life to make him realize that he had an amazing family surrounding him.

I'm really sad to see series this series come to an end, but I am happy that all the Cavanaugh brothers found love and happiness. It was a pleasure to see all the characters from the previous books in Bonded. They all had an important role in each and every book of this series. This series was romantic, captivating and pretty steamy! Laura Wright did a fantastic job with each and every one of these books and I highly recommend this series.

I give Bonded, by Laura Wright, 4 intriguing, exciting, page-turning stars!

Bonded by Laura Wright is the 4th book in her wonderful Cavanaugh Brothers series. This is Blue’s story, and the closure to the ongoing mystery of their sister’s murder years ago. In each of the previous books, each brother found their love, and a clue to move them closer to what happened to Cass.

Blue Perez is the illegitimate son, and half brother to the Cavanaugh Brothers. Blue could not handle that his mother never told him the truth about his father, and throughout the series, he has been distant, angry and cold to her, as well as Mac and the brothers.

In the last book, Blue discovered that the woman he was beginning to trust and care for, though through the internet, was in fact someone who knew Cass, and after finding Cass’s diary, he begins to suspect she knows more then she claims. Broken some more that he was lied to once again, Blue gets drunk and wakes up after a one night stand with the local waitress, Emily Shiver. As much as he tries, he finds it difficult to forget that passionate night with Emily.

Emily is our heroine in this book, and she is sweet and very well liked. Emily can’t forget Blue either, and when she finds out she is pregnant, she is forced by her brother to tell Blue.

What follows is a sweet slow to build romance. Once he found out Emily was pregnant with his child, Blue began to change. He pushes himself into Emily’s life, as he does not want his child to be abandoned, like he was. Throughout the earlier books, Blue was one angry young man, and it was so nice to see him slowly melt and try to fit in. He opens himself again to Mac, and slowly to his three half brothers, who have been trying to show him acceptance as one of theirs. Now with the baby coming, all the Cavanaugh’s plan on forcing themselves into Blue’s life, as they consider the baby their niece. This was a very n ice and fun part watching them show up, and include Blue and Emily into their lives.

They will all band together, including Emily’s cop brother to find the proof that Blue’s is right in his insistence that he knows who killed Cass. There are some exciting parts, especially when Emily’s life is now in danger.

This was a very enjoyable story, a nice couple, a great family, sweet romance, and exciting. Bonded was a fitting end to this series, as the Cavanaugh Brothers will be missed. I suggest you start with the first book, Branded, since each book gives you more information about the mystery of who killed their sister.

I love this series so much and this fourth and final book in Laura Wright's Cavanaugh Brothers series answers all the questions involving the murder of the Cavanaugh brothers' sister. Bonded is a story of intrigue, loss and love. I loved every minute of it and fell even more in love with Blue. He struggles to work through all the pain he's going through and at times I wanted to shake him but he overcomes everything that's been thrown at him. The chemistry and romance between Blue and Emily was hot and I enjoyed their interactions. If you've been reading this series from the beginning you'll enjoy the conclusion and if you're haven't read them yet you should start at the beginning because there is a mystery that spans the series. I highly recommend this sizzling cowboy series.

After the cliffhanger in the previous book, I started Bonded right away. Blue is extremely bitter and hurt over being lied to by significant people in his life. I completely understood where he was coming from, especially with his mother. His anger of his online relationship with Natalie just seemed ridiculous to me. Granted I have never had an online love affair but the little snippets we saw in the previous book hardly seemed very romantic, and in any case how can you love someone when you have never even met them or talked about anything personal?? I rolled my eyes many times over this because it seemed like it was made out to be way more important than what it actually was. Anyhoo - I was really tired of Blue being so angry for like 90% of the book. Em was very likeable and I respected her continuing to strive for her dream when pregnant.

As for the brothers - I would have liked some more detail about a reunion. The previous book the way they spoke about Blue was like shit and in Bonded they acted like the great divide between them was all on Blue's shoulders. Whatever. I was really disappointed about this.

So in some ways this is a satisfying end to the mystery of Cass's murder but I didn't dig the story as much as other instalments.

This book was a fabulous read that had me spellbound from the first page until the last.

Laura Wright ended this series with Bonded, and gave readers a satisfying conclusion to the mystery thread that had me so intrigued that I couldn't wait for each new book. Blue was angry and too stubborn for his own good. He felt like an outsider, never trusting anyone, even the woman who was expecting his child. Em was so sweet. It broke her heart when Blue pushed her away since she had real feelings for him way before the one night stand that resulted in a baby. This story was so well done, Blue's feelings so vivid, that I seriously worried about the happy ever after. It was an emotional read for me.

My words can't express how wonderful this book was, or how much I enjoyed reading the entire series. Definitely one for my BEST BOOK shelf !

Admito-me algo desiludida com o final deste pequena série.

I had been looking forward to this one, wanted to see if Blue would be able to get out of the sense of betrayal that he felt from his parents and the new brothers. Things there went about how I expected, but I was glad for the HEA.

The whole thing with Emily seemed a bit abrupt for me. I get the one night stand thing, get the surprise that came from it. But there interactions afterwards were few and far between and most of them were with Blue's foot in his mouth. So the whole instant love things by the end seemed off somehow. But with that said I did like how things ended with them.

I was also glad that things were cleared up with Cass's murder all those years ago, that we found out who killed her and that they will be punished.

I really enjoyed the first three books and I tried so hard to like this one but Blue whined, bitched, and moaned through 77% of this book. I completely understand that he was lied to, heartbroken, and felt like an outsider to his "new" brothers, but jeez he just could not let anything go. His actions regarding sex and intimacy with Emily due to his insecure feelings was very selfish in my opinion. Unfortunately I think I should have stopped at book three when I found out who killed Cass because this book was a "filler" book for me. I truly love all of Laura Wright's books but this one fell short for me.

I actually liked this book, which surprised me since I was very disappointed with the previous two. But this one seemed to move much faster and I REALLY liked Emily. She was this perfect ass-kicking heroine that I needed from this series.

And she really didn't shy away from telling Blue when he was being a jackass, which he really needed to hear. Up to this point, everyone was treating him with kid gloves because of the surprise of his parentage, but it was past time for him to start behaving like an adult.

Blue Cavanaugh thought he'd found his soulmate online, but when he discovers that his "Cowgirl" is Natalie Palmer and that she's been manipulating him, he chalks it up to the fact that nobody can be trusted. When he finds Cass Cavanaugh's diary concealed in one of Natalie's cookbooks, he goes on a bender that leads to a one night stand with waitress, Emily Shiver that barely registers. His life hasn't been the same since the reading of Everett Cavanaugh's will when it was revealed that he is Everett's illegitimate son. Learning that Emily is pregnant with his child leaves Blue feeling more lost and confused than ever. As much as he wants to be there for Emily, she is determined to live her own life, but someone is out there is trying to make her miserable.

Bonded ends The Cavanaugh Brothers' series with Blue's story, providing opportunities for drama that are left unrealized. The romance between Blue and Cass is lukewarm at best. By the time the disappointing solution to the mystery of Cass's death is revealed, the killer has been foreshadowed multiple times, leaving the expectation for a twist unfulfilled. However, the series is successful in telling the story of several characters with very diverse backgrounds and intertwining their lives in a satisfying way. Overall, a decent series that could have been so much more.
