Zoe struggles with her place in the pack along with her relationship with Elisabeth. Michaela meddles with both and becomes perturbed when some of her efforts are thwarted.
A writer by avocation, Robin has a renaissance interest in many areas. A bit of a gypsy, Robin has called a few places home and has traveled widely. A love of the outdoors, animals in general and experimenting with world cuisines, Robin and partner share their home with a menagerie of pets and guests, although sometimes it is difficult to discern who is whom.
This is a continuation of the previous book. Again, it centre's around Zoe. It highlights her fears whether or not they are rational. Basically Zoe is scared out of her mind. She is convinced the wolves are going to kill her. So she stops attending events. Stays away all together.
She's put on trial. Reason being she ignored her alpha and missed her responsibilities to the pack. She's charged and put into an enforcers card to carry out her 100 pack hours sentence. But, she falls in love.
I haven't mentioned this before because although annoying it doesn't really impinge on my enjoyment. But I know grammatical issues annoy others. There are a few but nothing really serious. Usually spelling, or wrong person mentioned. Stuff like that. But nothing to interrupt your enjoyment.
So my advice. Give this a go. I'm off to read number 10. I've already read them once this is my second run through. And I'm loving it.
I hated this book. I don't know what this author was hoping to accomplish other than missing me off. I am a romantic and wanted Elisabeth happy. I could care less about some new character in which I have no investment. I have removed this author from my favorites list because of this book. The seventeenth I've read by her. I will not be reading any others. This one hurt!
I had hoped with the introduction of more paranormal races in book 7 that the series might get a breath of fresh air. Alas, it seems the series is be back to the same old games, fluff, and not much plot. The little plot there is feels like a rehash of earlier books, just swap Michaela trying to fit in with Zoe trying to fit in and there you go. I was, however, surprise by the romance aspect. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the book, I just think the series needs a facelift.
I’m a little sad. I was led to believe one thing was happening and then something else did. I thought I was going to be happy for Elisabeth. But something bothered me about her and how she courted Zoe. She was really hard on her from how she treated her, how she ignored her, and how she sort of emulated the relationship Lara had with Michaela physically. I did notice that she said she liked when Michaela talked and she liked just about everything Michaela did. That gave me pause.
I didn’t understand how her wolf could say one thing and yet she did and wished for another. I felt bad about Harper. It seemed like they would have actually hit it off. I liked Portia. And I knew something was odd when Portia went through all that trouble to feed Zoe when she was jailed. I liked their friendship. I just couldn’t take the leap with Portia and Zoe. I saw the attraction. It just didn’t do it for me. Zoe fell in love with Elisabeth. She really liked Harper. She kissed and liked Prudence. And then her and Portia? Nah.
Perhaps, I wanted her and Elisabeth to make it. I feel like they should have. I kept waiting for it. This book was too long for it to end the way it did. And I didn’t buy in to it. I feel cheated. My least favorite one so far. And I must mention, I didn’t like Michaela one bit in this book. She wielded power negatively. She seemed so full of herself. They made me sort of not like the pack in this book and the last one. I did walk away believing that Zoe really didn’t belong.
